rey is a 8 year old Manx in Shirley, NY, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.

Shirley, NY

Rey is a beautiful 8 year old girl who had a rough start in life. I adopted her in 2021 and her previous life before becoming part of my family was heartbreaking. She was a hoarder house cat, bound to a cage for nearly 24 hours a day. By the time I found Rey, she had been adopted and returned TWICE within days for "being too shy." To say she had a rough start would be putting it lightly.. In October, a sonogram showed a mass in Rey's small intestine. A week later, I had her at the surgeon at Animal Surgical Center. They perfromed surgery on 11/5 and removed both a cancerous tumor and an intussusception. She had a consult with the oncologist at VMCLI who recommended she undergo a year of chemo, as there may still be miniscule cancer cells that can spread aggressively and quickly. Rey is quite literally the love of my life. She is a shy, but very bossy at the same time. She wants me to lay on the counch with a fuzzy blanket every night so she can snuggle, and wants to go to bed to cuddle against me when it gets late. She is attached to me and I to her. She's sweet and the most gentle cat I have ever seen. She is loved by all and deserves more than 8 years of life after this Between bloodwork, medicine, x-rays, ultrasounds, a major surgery, an emergency hospitalization 2 days later for pneumonia, I have exhausted all funds. I am now relying on help from friends. Chemotherapy is expensive and I would do anything to have her healthy again.

Blue

Blue is a 6 month old American Pit Bull Terrier in Chicago , IL, who needs $2,000 for Leptospirosis, Kidney Failure, and Liver Failure.

Chicago, IL

Blue came into our lives about five months ago when we rescued him from a friend who found a litter of pitbull puppies. The moment we saw him, we knew he was meant to be part of our family. His beautiful blue eyes captured our hearts, which is why we chose the name “Blue.” He’s been a bright light in our home ever since, and we are so lucky to have him. Me and my wife, son, and now Blue together. Blue has been very sick recently, battling leptospirosis, which led to kidney and liver failure. It’s been an incredibly emotional time for our family, but I’m relieved to share that Blue’s is at Premier Veterinary Group. The team there has been monitoring him closely, and we’re seeing signs of progress every day. His kidney and liver functions are stabilizing, and his condition is improving. Blue has only been in our lives for five months, but in that short time, he’s brought an immeasurable amount of love and healing to our family. We rescued him when he was just one month old, and since then, he’s become a true light in our lives. His presence has brought us closer, healed old wounds, and filled our home with laughter and warmth. The fear of losing him feels almost unbearable. 😢 I haven’t been working for the last 2 years due to work injury. Blue came into my life for comparison and at current moment my wife is the only one working full-time while I deal with my therapy and doctor visits to get better to return to work.
