Paddy showed up a few days after the owners sister had passed away and never left. He was invited in to a loving home where he stayed and is loved everyday. Paddy is struggling from a urethral blockage where he has had to go in to the vet to be drained. They have deemed surgery is required. They need to cut his penis off to widen the urethra so he is able to use the washroom comfortably. This procedure is called Perineal urethrostomy. Paddy has been my mom’s companion since she lost her sister. He is well loved and enjoys his nightly snuggles with my mom. I personally spend my time with him in the mornings before work. He is so affectionate and so full of love. My parents are seniors who are retired on a strict government pension. I make minimum wage. We have been denied pet insurance due to previous history. Having this surgery and having paddy healthy again would be a breath of fresh air. I cry myself to sleep feeling so helpless

But those horrible words are what Delilah's 2nd Chance Rescue heard after they saved Timon and his littermates. "Timon and his siblings came to us with everything in the books: worms, parasites, fleas, and now parvo," Ashley M., with the rescue, tells Waggle. One of Timon's littermates passed away; others came down with the virus, and now Timon is in the hospital, fighting for his life. "One minute, he was this rambunctious happy, healthy, shoe-biting puppy," Lori says. "The next, he's dwindling into nothing as he vomits, has diarrhea, and whimpers in pain." The rescue is begging for donations to pay for Timon's expensive medical care. "Every penny counts towards veterinary bills," Lori says. "Thank you so much for your support!"

Lily Lost Her Tail to Cancer. Help Her Recover

Lily is a tiny tuxedo cat who has spent her entire life believing in people. Three years ago she was dumped at Ocoee Taco, confused and heartbroken, begging every passerby for food and for someone to notice her. She wasn’t loud. She wasn’t demanding. She simply looked up at strangers with the soft hope of a cat who once knew the comfort of a home and couldn’t understand why it was gone. Patrons fed her when they could, but it was clear she was fading. She had no shelter, no protection, and no one to keep her safe. One kind person finally made a call to Andrew’s Paws for Hope. That call saved her life. When Lily arrived at the sanctuary that night, she walked straight to the bed that had been prepared for her. She curled up, closed her eyes, and fell asleep almost instantly. It was the sleep of a cat who had been waiting far too long to feel safe again. From that night on, she chose her place in the world. She sleeps by my head every night. She is gentle, affectionate, and grateful for every moment of love she receives. Now at ten years old, Lily is facing a frightening medical battle. A painful mass on her tail was diagnosed as a sarcoma, and her entire tail had to be removed. At the same time, a large mass appeared along her lumbar spine. It was removed and, thankfully, showed no signs of cancer. She is healing, but she must be closely monitored. Her medical bills have already reached nearly two thousand dollars. For our small 501(c)(3) sanctuary, this amount is overwhelming. We care for many forgotten cats who have nowhere else to go, and every dollar is stretched to its limit. Lily is one of the sweetest souls we have ever rescued, and she deserves every chance to continue her life in comfort and safety. She spent months begging strangers for help. Today she is asking again, but this time she has people who will fight for her. We just need help to keep her safe.

Was a rescue from Prairie Paws in Grand Prairie texas. His mom was a small American Bulldog, and he turned out at least double her size and mainly Rottweiler even though we don't know who is Dad is or was. He's the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. He loves all people, kids, and all animals. All he knows is love and to play. Band tore his ACL chasing a small dog and trying to turn sharply. I didn't know how bad it was and I waited a few months for it to heal. It healed and then I let him run and it just got worse. I then took him to the vet which is what I should have done in the first place and she said he's going to have to have surgery because his ACL is just too bad and it's muscles in that leg or deteriorating. He's a big Goofy pup! Even if I got attacked I feel like he would think we were playing, that's how innocent he is. If another dog tries to bite him he just runs away. He loves kids and basically all animals. All he wants to do all day everyday is play, he requires a lot of attention. I don't have any kids so he's basically just like my son. And it's painful to watch him in pain. There's no way I can afford a $3,800 surgery on his leg. I could probably do $1,000 of it myself Real estate has been slow. And we definitely don't make as much as people think we make! Especially the fact that I put most of everything I make back into my business.

We adopted Obi in March of 2022 at 11 months old. He was originally Bowie. My husband wanted Obi since he is a Star Wars fan. He is a very sweet boy with an old soul. Obi took 30 minutes to warm up to us but my husband didn’t want to leave without him. He was the first dog we met while looking to adopt. Obi has had Diarrhea and vomiting that led to many vet visits. In March he had an eye issue that led to us thinking he was having a seizure. Vet told us it wasn’t. In April he kept vomiting, stopped eating his food and peeing inside. Super lethargic. He kept loosing his balance and sway to one side. We took him in and was told he may have a brain lesion. MRI & spinal tap-still waiting for results. Obi is chill and doesn’t play much. He loves butt and belly rubs. He is obsessed with food and will “Chirp” until you give him a treat. It sounds like a raptor from Jurassic park. He will whine until he gets a place on the couch. If you leave your spot he will take it immediately. He has to be the center of attention. His temperament is amazing. Sniffing is his favorite after food and sleep. Fixed income. Still paying off debt when my husband was laid off from the factory and medical bills. We’re willing to max out credit cards to save our fur baby. We love him very much and this all happened on his birthday.

We adopted Izzy from a shelter a little over a year ago! She is a 15 year old kitty whose dad passed away and nobody could care for her. We instantly fell in love with her little quiet meow and cuddles! I am hoping to get her medical attention, lately she has lost some weight (she was 16lbs and now probably around 9). She has tummy troubles and occasionally throws up.. we’ve changed foods and we thought we found the solution but she is still throwing up on occasion. She also has an eye infection we believe When we first brought Izzy home she was so scared, I’d say it took her a good two weeks to finally get used to our house and children. Since then she has been in love with my kids she sleeps in their room every night and she loves to cuddle and pur away. Currently on a fixed income. I am a mom to two boys and one on the way, I take care of my grandmother full time after her stroke and bills seem to be never ending. We would be so appreciative of any financial help

(Brookeville, MD) With the support of the DOGust Waggle Grant, Knine Rescue Inc. aims to expand our efforts in saving lives and promoting responsible pet practices through comprehensive community outreach and targeted interventions. How the DOGust Waggle Grant Will Be Utilized The funds awarded through the DOGust Waggle Grant will be instrumental in supporting our key initiatives: rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters, enhancing our spay/neuter and microchipping programs, and expanding our educational outreach. 1. Expansion of Rescue Operations: Enhanced Shelter Partnerships: We will strengthen existing partnerships and establish new ones with high-kill shelters across the country. This will involve logistical support to rescue more dogs and facilitate their transfer to our care or partner organizations. Transportation and Care Costs: Funds will be allocated to cover the costs of transporting dogs from high-kill shelters to our facilities, including fuel, vehicle maintenance, and safe transport conditions. Additionally, we will cover medical expenses such as vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and treatments for any illnesses or injuries. 2. Spay/Neuter and Microchipping Programs Spay/Neuter Services: To prevent overpopulation, we will use grant funds to subsidize spay/neuter surgeries for dogs in our care and for dogs in underserved communities. This includes partnerships with veterinary clinics to provide low-cost spay/neuter services. Microchipping: We will ensure that every dog rescued and adopted through our program is microchipped. The grant will support the costs of microchips and the associated registration fees. Additionally, we will provide microchipping services to community members who may not otherwise afford them, helping to reduce the number of lost pets entering shelters. 3. Community Outreach and Education Awareness Campaigns: We will launch educational campaigns to promote the importance of spaying/neutering and microchipping. This will include social media campaigns, local events, and informational workshops. Educational Materials: The grant will fund the creation and distribution of educational materials, such as brochures, flyers, and online resources, to inform the public about responsible pet ownership practices and the benefits of spaying/neutering and microchipping. 4. Foster Care and Adoption Support Foster Network Expansion: To accommodate the increased number of rescued dogs, we will expand our network of foster homes. The grant will support foster families with supplies, veterinary care, and training resources. Adoption Events: We will organize and fund adoption events to increase the visibility of our rescued dogs and facilitate their placement in forever homes. These events will also include educational components about responsible pet ownership. Targeted Community Impact The DOGust Waggle Grant will significantly enhance our ability to address the issues faced by high-kill shelters and support responsible pet ownership. Our efforts will have a direct impact on: • Reducing Euthanasia Rates: By rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters and increasing adoption rates, we will decrease the number of dogs euthanized due to overcrowding. • Preventing Overpopulation: Through our spay/neuter programs, we will contribute to controlling the dog population and preventing future overpopulation crises. • Improving Pet Reunification: Microchipping will facilitate the quick return of lost dogs to their families, reducing the number of dogs entering shelters and improving their chances of being reunited with their owners. • Educating the Public: Our outreach initiatives will raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, leading to more informed and proactive pet guardians. The support of the DOGust Waggle Grant will enable Knine Rescue Inc. to expand our lifesaving efforts, enhance our spay/neuter and microchipping programs, and educate the public about responsible pet ownership. Fluffy came into our lives by a foster fail. He’s an amazing addition to our family. We do have two other dogs and one of them is a bonded pair with fluffy. Before fluffy came to me he was kept outside the majority of his life. Now he sleeps in the house sometimes on the bed with me and has a fenced in yard. We recently saw some thing on the side of fluffy mouth and quickly went to check it out by the vet. Turns out he has an abscess that needs to be removed and checked if it’s cancer. On top of that he needs dental work. He is 8 1/2 years old. Wisconsin veterinarian clinic that used to be Spay me will be the one that will be performing the surgery and any other medical needs after that. My pet is special because he is part of the family and had a hard life before he came to us. Like I mentioned earlier he is a bonded pair with my other dog Diego. He is scared of the thunder and very anxious and nervous upon meeting new people. Fluffy and the rest of my dogs are like my children. Fluffy’s behavior is extremely loving, warm and cuddling. I am a disabled widowed mother of two adult children. Which one was just diagnosed with aggressive Crohn’s disease. A fractured my foot and lost my job. This unexpected sadness about fluffy has made it sad because I am unable to come up with the funds to make him better.

Every day is an adventure filled with play, cuddles, and laughter. Their bond is truly special, and Boots has become a cherished member of our family. Boots swallowed a foreign object, which is now lodged in her intestines. She started vomiting, refusing to eat, and has not been her usual playful self. Currently, she is at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, NC. She will likely need surgery, which could cost $6,000 or more. Boots is special because of her playful and adventurous spirit. She loves chasing a toy mouse on a string, climbing anything in sight, hiding in boxes, and playfully pouncing on us as we walk by. Her bond with my daughter is amazing; they share a deep connection and bring each other so much joy. This situation was very sudden and has placed a significant strain on us. We are seeking any support to help cover this overwhelming bill. Having Boots healthy again would mean the world to us, especially to my daughter, as she means everything to our family.
