Prinz

Prinz is a 5 year old Dachshund in College Park, MD, who needs $2,000 for Back Surgery.

College Park, MD • Little Paws Dachshund Rescue

Little Paws Dachshund Rescue Five-year-old Prinz's owners took him to the vet to be euthanized after being diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). They didn't want to spend the money on surgery, nor care for a paralyzed dog, so euthanasia it was. Thankfully, the vet knew Prinz was not a lost cause and that IVDD is not a death sentence. The vet convinced the owners to surrender Prinz to Little Paws Dachshund Rescue. Little Paws got Prinz scheduled for surgery, but the neurologist became very concerned as she was about to operate. Not only had Prinz lost function of his hind, his loss of sensation was creeping up his spine to his ribcage. She told them the worst possibility: Prinz's spinal cord may be dead from his accident, but with no medical intervention, he would soon lose all bodily functions and die. They then needed to conduct an MRI, which showed a bad lower disc rupture AND an old upper disc rupture. It also showed that Prinz's spinal cord is very much alive! Little Paws wanted to try giving this sweet little one a chance at walking again and alleviating some of his deep pain, so they moved forward with the surgery. Prinz is now in his foster home recovering with lots of love. They are waiting for signs of him walking again. Little Paws will continue to monitor his recovery and spoil him with love. Please consider donating to support Prinz's medical journey!

They will need to be hospitalized for over a month as they regain their health. Despite all of their ailments, Osiris and Sia have so much love to give and their tails continue to wag. They are extremely sweet and are quick to make friends with strangers. Hand to Paw is on a mission to help Thailand street dogs. They provide care to dogs like Osiris and Sia when no one else will. Chance

Chance is a 10 year old Siberian Husky in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for severe anemia, malnutrition, lethargy and painful.

Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope

URGENT! Discarded outside, covered in maggots, senior husky needs his second “Chance!” Starving, covered in maggots and too weak to stand, Chance was abandoned in an inner city neighborhood. He is a gentle senior husky who has been through so much mistreatment in his life, but his spirit remains unbroken. Even at his worst, lifeless and lethargic, Chance wagged his tail when he saw another dog, crying out for companionship. Chance’s suspected “owners” claimed to have found him, as he slowly starved in the yard. When rushed to the hospital, he wasn’t expected to survive, but this resilient boy fought back. His kind friends at the shelter were determined to give him his second chance at his best life. The message came in this weekend, “I don’t mean to do this to you…” but Chance needed to find rescue by the day’s end. One of our incredible husky families who has helped to rehabilitate Burton, Ford and Kenai, stepped forward to help Chance. We need your support to provide Chance with the medical care he so desperately has been lacking. He is battling severe anemia, malnutrition, lethargy and painful maggot-infested wounds. He visited the vet again today and was shaved down to clean his wounds and is now on antibiotics. Please hold Chance in your hearts, as he is really struggling today. We are hopeful that tomorrow is a better day for Chance, and with your support, we can do everything in our power to give him the devoted care he needs. *Update 1/27: In Loving Memory of Chance Chance’s final months were truly the best of his life, filled with love and care from his devoted family. Despite his difficult past, his spirit remained strong. He healed and thrived under the tender care of his human family and his pack—especially his loyal best friend and protector, Burton. 🐾 Thanks to his family's unwavering commitment, Chance's last days were surrounded with love. They lovingly shared, “Our boy Chance crossed the rainbow bridge today to begin his next adventure. He gave us 4 amazing months and made such an impact on us. He taught us so many lessons, and though he overcame so many odds, he was old and tired, and we promised we wouldn’t let him suffer. We are so honored to have been his family during this time and hope he knew nothing but love. It took a village to save him, and we’re forever grateful to A Pathway to Hope for trusting us, Plains Animal Hospital for their care, and everyone who cheered him on and supported his journey. Please don’t overlook the old, sick, or handicapped animals—they have so much love to give. Our time with Chance was short but amazing. Run free, buddy. Say hi to Buddy and Lucky for us. We love you so much.” 💕 Thanks to Rob, Joanna, and their wonderful family Chance had everything he needed in this life to move on with love and peace in his heart. And thank you to our Pathway family for supporting Chance’s care, ensuring his final months were filled with comfort. Run free, beautiful boy! You will forever be in our hearts. ❤️

* One by One Animal Advocate * Meet Lydia, a sweet and loving dog who just wants to feel safe and loved. She hasn't had vet care, but her great temperament shines through every day. Unfortunately, Lydia's mom is struggling with drug use and needs help. It has made it hard for her to take care of Lydia the way she deserves. In Huntington, West Virginia, our community is fighting a tough battle against addiction. It’s heartbreaking to see how this crisis has touched the lives of so many, including sweet Lydia. She’s facing a difficult time because her mom is ready to get help and enter a 30-day rehab program. But this means that Lydia needs a new place to call home—at least for now. She loves her dog more than anything, but she can't take care of her right now. That’s where we come in at One by One Animal Advocates. We want to give them both a chance at a brighter future. We’re arranging for Lydia's to be boarded for 30-days safely while her mom gets the support she needs. While staying with us, we'll make sure she receives all the care she deserves. Max is a 2 year old St. Bernard in Fayetteville , NC, who needs $2,000 for Treatment for Ingesting Toxins

Fayetteville, NC • Pet Angel Fund

Pet Angel Fund Max was welcomed into Pet Angel Fund with open arms as a community plea. He was likely dumped. All that is known about his past is that Max has a history of seizures and was not medicated, meaning he had months of avoidable seizures. The raw marks on his legs and paws a result of this negligence. He was not properly taken care of. Shortly after coming into foster care, he quickly declined. Max was acting extremely lethargic, then suddenly collapsed. He began throwing up bits of trash. He started urinating blood and having bowel movements that also had blood in them. Max was quickly rushed to Animal Hospital of Fayetteville in North Carolina. They have been closely monitoring him and diagnosed him with HGE, also known as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a sudden potentially fatal disorder that attacks a dog's GI tract. It is suspected he digested something toxic. Max is now fighting for his life. He has been through so much and does not deserve this. He is such a gentle giant with so much love to give. Despite feeling absolutely awful, he just wants to rest his big head in your lap and receive love. Pet Angel Fund is a non-profit that relies on donations to help animals like Max. Please consider donating to help support Max's fight for his health. Update 8/19 Max has thankfully pulled through. He has regained some strength and is eating. Sadly, it has been recently discovered that Max has infected sores on 3 of his paws. He is receiving excellent care and will continue to get bloodwork and testing done to help him. Update 8/27 Max went to the vet for bloodwork and recheck of his foot. His kidney levels are almost normal but a few other levels have dropped, they believe this is a result of the hookworms which may have taken over after he started prednisone as prednisone is a steroid and weakens the immune system. His foot we are keeping a close eye on and hoping for healing since the nail bed had receded down to the bone. We will continue x-rays on his foot if necessary and bloodwork to monitor his health.

Wally has joined an active animal home that includes another dog, pigs, and birds, set in a natural habitat at 4,000 feet elevation outside of Sacramento, CA. He is settling into his new home but urgently needs dental care. Wally entered the kennel as a stray at four years old. His dental issues worsened during the stay, resulting in a broken right canine and additional damage to other teeth on the same side. Despite his positive outlook, Wally experiences pain and sensitivity around his mouth. Dr Raymond at Placerville Animal surgery says he needs $480 of dental work. Wally, a 70-pound bundle of joy, is a happy, low-to-the-ground dog who brings immense joy to his new family. We want to ensure he remains pain-free and happy in our safe home. Addressing his dental issues is crucial to prevent potential reactivity towards our other animals. hattiesburg, MS

I rescued Sir Anthony from a improper breeder, at only 4 weeks old. When I got him he had numerous problems including infections in his eyes and tummy, and had to be bottle fed. Other than those issues, he has been a healthy chunk boy. He is a completely indoor cat, and has a brother KitKat, and a sister Maci. The brief overview of Sir Anthony's situation is that he is currently hospitalized at MedVet Mandeville, and is in need of a biopsy and a blood transfusion. This all started two weeks ago with a urinary blockage which had him in critical care. Between 3 different vets, 15 total days hospitalized, a feeding tube, and countless bloodwork ultrasounds ivs and X-rays we now only have one route to take. While he loves his brother KitKat and sister Maci, he is the stereotypical middle child. Sir Anthony likes to start every morning by pawing my face for my attention. Sir Anthony is a very talkative baby, who knows exactly what he wants. He has an undeniable hatred for closed doors, and an obsession with freshly worn shoes. He loves to bully his sister, and cuddle his brother. I'm a college student, who works full time. I thought my baby would be protected by my emergency fund and CareCredit. I was mistaken as the fund is fully depleted, and the CareCredit is maxed. Im out of resources and in desperate need for a life line for me and my baby <3

Just four days ago, she jumped out of her basket while we were on a bike ride, and her front paw got caught in the gear chamber of our electric bike. East Flat Rock, NC

Lily showed up about 4 years ago as a feral and we have been feeding her but were unable to catch her. A month or so ago I noticed she was pregnant so 2 or 3 weeks ago I caught her and brought her in my house. She is the absolute sweetest little mama I think I have ever met. Very loving. I have never seen her pregnant in the 4 years so I thought she was fixed. On Tues, she went in to labor and delivered 2 kittens in about 20 mins. I was dead and the other was very small. Her labor completely stopped after that. At 1 am, I called Western Carolina, and they advised to let her be and see. Wed evening at 11, we still had no more kittens and she was in serious distress. I rushed her to the er vet and they did an emergency c section. She had 2 more alive. She is amazing! I believe she was dumped. Her behavior is not that of a typical feral. She has a terrible skin allergy and most of her front teeth are missing. I believe her life started out very rough, but yet she is the most gentle, sweet little girl I've ever met. She adores her babies, and even with her skin so red and inflamed, she cares for them wonderfully Her bill at the ER vet was extremely expensive but there was no way I wasn't going to do what she absolutely needed. She would have died without it. I will be keeping her inside feom now on as I have bonded heavily with her and her with me. I love this little girl.

In 2023 we noticed a mass on her abdomen. We rushed her to All Pet Care in Clearwater. We did a few tests, she was diagnosed with a UTI and sent home. In February of 2024, Stella’s mass became larger. We rushed to the vet where they had it biopsies. Nothing malignant or cancerous came up. We waited until after our wedding to have it removed. We sent it to pathology and told us it was cancer. Stella has greeted so many dogs and cats that we brought in to foster: She is always the first to greet, the first to purr, and the first to love on you. She completes this family, our family. Stella is only 5 years old. What kills us is due to the kind of cancer she has she has a high prevent chance of a 5 year survival rate if treatment is done completely. She’s also best friends with our two cats. Rosa started limping about 2 years ago. She had a partial ccl tear in her knee. The vet at said if we worked really hard and put her on a diet it could potentially stabilize itself. We carried her up and down our apartment stairs for months and 30lbs of weight lost later— and Rosas knee was okay for a bit. But the CCL is now fully torn and it’s painful for Rosa to walk despite the medication. Anyone who has met Rosa knows she’s the best. With her sweet toothy smile and gentle brown eyes— she lights up the room. She endlessly loves her moms and enjoys a good family walk around town. Her favorite place to visit is Union Coffee to see all her besties where everyone yells “ROSA!!!!” when she walks in. She absolutely loves to run around the grass and the beach and definitely misses it. Both Lara and I have been hit with our own unexpected medical bills over the past couple years. Cooper is a competitive retriever dropout. Kicked off the farm, we were able to adopt him. Coop is 7 and has 1 fur brother and 3 human siblings. He lives in Utah and always makes sure the couch is warm and the food is tasted. He takes up too much space in bed and hates the vacuum. If you scratch his butt he tries to sit on his own head. Coop has a mass on his spleen. He is at risk of internal bleeding at any moment, and needs an emergency splenectomy. Without removal he has only a few weeks left, but with removal could live to a ripe old age. He had a minor bleed yesterday and collapsed, he is now home and monitored 24-7 while we raise funds to get him the surgery he needs. Coop is simply the best dog ever. He loves kids and especially cuddling babies. He love fetch and blowing bubbles in his baby pool, but hates baths. His teen sisters take him everywhere he is allowed, and every night he accompanies his toddler brother into the garden to help eat the berries off the bushes. He digs impressive holes on his quest to China. With 3 kids the expenses are high. Our oldest needs extreme oral surgery which insurance only partially covers. This is her second surgery this year and has drained our emergency funds. We are able to finance part of Coopers surgery, but have to pay a $4k deposit to begin.

Doc

Doc is a 12 year old Chow Chow in Dayton, OH, who needs $325 for Senior Workup and Pain Management.

Dayton, OH • Pawsitive Change Matters Most

Doc is a senior guy, approximately 12 years old. He's distinguished and ruggedly handsome, just a little timid at first. When he warms up, he's the KING of smiles. This is amazing because his person recently passed away so we're getting him all checked out and worked up medically so he can spend the rest of his days happy and as healthy as possible. He is being treated currently by Springboro. Doc is getting a senior workup and cleaned up also. He's being treated for joint pain for 10 days because his hips are very stiff and difficult for the vet to move him back half at all for the stiffness and apparently pain. He is undergoing treatment at Springboro Veterinary Hospital and Urgent Care in Springboro, Ohio. Before his person's health declined 6 years ago, Doc traveled the world and to every state. He still has so much left! Doc smiles for strangers even through his nerves. He's curious even though he's an old man and experienced loss. Doc did well with the 3 small dogs in his home and when bigger dogs walked past at vet, he showed no interest. Doc loves car rides and he never stops smiling! His person passed away and good Samaritans are trying to get him into a new home before he has to leave because of the bills no longer being paid. We are raising money to help him out!

Rebecca

Rebecca is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Fort Lauderdale , FL, who needs $1,000 for Eyelid Surgery and Heartworm Diagnostics.

Fort Lauderdale, FL • Operation Liberation

Rebecca came to Operation Liberation from the Bahamas to receive the extra care she desperately needs. Rebecca has eyelid agenesis which is a congenital condition where her eyelids did not fully form. This condition means Rebecca's eyes are lacking the protection eyelids provide and she is vulnerable to chronic irritation, corneal ulcers, squinting, and can even impair vision. Operation Liberation knew they had to step in and make sure Rebecca receives the necessary surgery to build eyelids for both eyes. Rebecca also tested positive for heartworm, a rarity in cats. Cats are atypical hosts for heartworm and most worms do not survive to the adult stage. Unfortunately, there is no approved drug therapy for heartworm infection in cats. While most cats are able to clear the heartworms, they may incur permanent damage. Rebecca will need numerous x-rays to track the progression of the heartworms. Operation Liberation takes in cases like Rebecca that require extra care and attention; they are determined to give every animal a chance at a pain-free, happy life. Please consider donating and helping Rebecca on her healing journey!

Snow White aka Angel

Snow White aka Angel is a 10 year old Maltese in Huntsville , AL, who needs $2,000 for Diffuse Corneal Vascularization Right Eye.

Huntsville, AL

While working diligently in the garden my husband called me to the fence, urgently needing my help. What I saw next broke my heart. This little dog was encrusted with feces, leaves, etc.;its eyes were totally obscured. She weighed nothing. She was so emaciated and dehydrated, I didn't know if I could save her. She was taking her last breaths. She had hobbled down the hill to us just in time. It was Friday when she came to us. We hydrated, fed, bathed, and groomed her. By Monday, having eaten and slept, she was up and about, though very weak. Went to the vet to see if she was chipped (not) and got her vaccinated. She had gained 2 lbs. up to 5.5 from 3.5. We have 4 other rescue dogs, so knew what to do. I kept checking the neighborhood posts for two weeks no one claimed her. Snow White aka Angel is the sweetest little dog. She took to her other furry family immediately, though she is deaf and blind in one eye. We estimate her to be about 10-12 years. She snuggles, loves being held and especially being brushed. Doesn't really care for bath time and has learned to use the doggie door or bark when she needs to go out or just be held. We are on fixed incomes. The vet bills are costly for her specialized eyecare. Although we've struggled to pay the bills, we would like to provide the best care for her so she can live out her remaining years in comfort. She may need cataract surgery in her good eye.

Georgie

Georgie is a 10-year-old Domestic Long Hair Cat in Tucson, AZ, who needs $2,000 for Diabetic Ketoacidosis.

Tucson, AZ

Meet Georgie, our loving kitty that has been through so much! We adopted him in January from PACC when he was first diagnosed with diabetes. He was 10 years old and had already been in two households and surrendered due to his family moving out of state. Since being in our home he has been hospitalized 4 times due to his diabetes. Georgie is the most loving cat I’ve ever known. He loves all cats and dogs and loves to sleep in our bed with his head on my pillow and paw on my arm. Georgie is super talkative and loves to tell us stories. He loves to yell “mom” when he wants his litter box cleaned! He gives nose boops and loves to lie on our chests. Georgie is currently hospitalized with diabetic ketoacidosis. When we adopted him in January he was diagnosed with diabetes and it’s unknown how long he suffered from it without being treated in his previous home. Since January we have been unable to stabilize his diabetes. He has suffered from UTI’s, seizures, high blood sugar, low blood sugar and anorexia. He is a fighter! This is Georgie’s 4th hospitalization and we are in debt from his care. His current stay is 2-3k so far and depending on how he progresses it could be more. He is currently inpatient at Ina Road Vet.

Kode

Kode is a 5-year-old Pitbull in Richmond, VA, who needs $1,000 for Surgery for Kidney Stones.

Richmond, VA • Compassion Animal Project

Meet Kode, a 5-year pit bull from North Carolina. Most days, you can find Kode playing with one of the other family pets or cuddling with his two human siblings. But recently, Kode has been in pain and having trouble urinating. His worried family rushed him to the emergency room, where it was discovered that he had developed kidney stones, which can be extremely painful! While some pets are lucky enough to pass their stones on their own while under observation, sweet Kode's stones, unfortunately, are obstructed, leaving him in need of an unexpected and costly surgery. This medical expense is putting a financial strain on Kode's family. They love him dearly and want nothing more than to give him the care he needs. Kode's family was quickly approved for a grant from Compassion Animal Project, a nationwide nonprofit that provides financial assistance to low-income families in need of life-saving treatments for their pets. But the grant doesn't cover the full cost of surgery, and Kode's family could use your help!

Smash

Smash is a 3-year-old Rottweiler in Land O' Lakes, FL, who needs $2,000 for ACL Tear and Surgery.

Land O' Lakes, FL • Pasco County Animal Services

Thanks to the wonderful supporters of Smash's first campaign, he was able to reach his fundraising goal! However, he still needs a bit more help to cover the cost of his ACL surgery. Every little bit counts towards ensuring Smash can continue to wag his tail with excitement and love for many years to come! Smash, the adorable giant dog with a heart of gold, has been a loyal companion to the Pasco County 911 team. He has grown into a strong and dependable working dog despite being rescued at just five weeks old. He provides emotional support services to his human colleagues every week. Whether it's a difficult call or a stressful day, Smash is always there with a wagging tail and warm snuggles to offer comfort and solace. His gentle nature and calming presence have helped countless people cope with the challenges of their job. He also spends his days getting beat up by his Dachshund brothers and sisters and snuggling with his tripod kitten sister. But now, things have changed. A painful injury has left him unable to fulfill his duties and has really knocked him off his paws. He was recently diagnosed with an ACL tear in his right leg and surgery is needed to repair the ligament. "Smash is as gentle, docile, and loving as they come!" Gina at Pasco County Animal Services tells Waggle. "He is an educator in our community, by showing people that a “bully breed” can be the perfect (and not scary!) service dog." Smash deserves to be pain-free and happy because he's given so much happiness to others. Can you help make that possible by donating?

Cleo

Cleo is a six-year-old Bulldog mix in Richmond, VA, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Richmond, VA • Compassion Animal Project

For years, every step Cleo took was painful. She suffered from luxating patellas, a condition where her knee caps don't stay in place. Sadly, no one ever helped her or fixed them -- until Amy and the Compassion Animal Project came into Cleo's life. Amy adopted Cleo, even with her leg issues. Cleo became a source of joy and warmth for Amy after she lost her sister to a long battle with ALS. And Amy worked tirelessly to help Cleo's knees, even trying regenerative therapy treatments. Unfortunately, Cleo's condition worsened, and she tore both of her cranial cruciate ligaments. Now Cleo needs surgery on both her legs. Amy and the Compassion Animal Project have spent thousands of dollars on Cleo's care, and with your generous help, Cleo will finally be able to walk without pain! "Cleo and Amy are quite the dynamic duo and have grown to need one another since the day Cleo was adopted," Kristina S., from the nonprofit organization, tells Waggle. "Their favorite activity to do together is travel to the beach on a sunny day and nature watch. Their love is unbreakable, and we are touched by the lengths Amy has gone to give Cleo the quality of life she deserves!"
