One dog died by the time help arrived. Clara was one of the lucky ones who survived -- but barely! Now she needs your help. When Three Little Pitties Rescue heard about Clara, they rushed her to Alvin Friendswood Veterinary Clinic. "Clara has needed extensive veterinary care to save her life," Alayna G. with the rescue tells Waggle. "Clara is fighting pneumonia, which almost took her life. She had to be hospitalized three times. At one point, we were told that euthanasia might be the only option. Clara is on eight medications and twice-daily nebulizing treatments to try clearing her lungs." Despite everything Clara has been through, she is still incredibly sweet and unconditionally trusts humans. It is pretty remarkable. Clara is showing signs of improvement and is starting to feel better. "She has become talkative, saying hello when she gets excited," Alayna says. "She loves to cuddle and play with her foster brother Yurman. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle on the couch and give kisses to her foster mom." The rescue saves more than 2,000 dogs a year, and they're racing to raise the money to cover all of Clara's medical bills so they can stay afloat and save other dogs in need. Quincy
Quincy is an eight-year-old Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix in CT, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.

When Quincy was seven years old, he finally found his forever home! That's when Karen M. adopted him from a rescue group. "We are his third home," Karen tells Waggle. "Quincy was a handful in the beginning. He wanted to play and go on outdoor adventures at three o'clock in the morning during his first few weeks with us. Being seniors, we thought rescuing an older dog would be best for a slower pace, laid-back lifestyle. Well, that wasn't Quincy's style at all. But it is all worked out now. He knows the routine; if we forget, he reminds us quickly." But Quincy, who loves to be on the go, recently sustained a tragic injury. He started limping and had a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) in his knee. He needs surgery right away. His condition is gut-wrenching to Karen. She hates seeing Quincy in pain, and she and her husband can't afford his surgery. "We are senior citizens, living on fixed incomes, and of course, especially in these times, we find our budget very tight," Karen says. "We are humbled asking for help as it is not something we do lightly. We feel he deserves a full life to enjoy all his energy without limits." Please help Quincy get back on his feet again!
Otis
Otis is a 12-year-old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $118 for Specially Compounded Medication for Resistant Ear Infection.

Otis' story will break your heart! He wandered around a neighborhood as a stray his entire life. One day he fell down a hill and collapsed. A kind person called animal control for help. The officers were so sad about Otis -- who never had a home or medical care -- that they called NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue. The nonprofit group immediately got Otis the medical care he deserved. The poor senior beagle's front legs are deformed, and he can't stand straight, so his body is permanently tilted toward the left. His body is worn and broken. His heart is enlarged. Otis was anemic from a heavy flea infestation and has old wounds that never healed properly. He also has an ear infection resistant to many treatments because his ear canal is misshaped. He needs a specially developed, compounded medication. "It's a miracle that Otis is alive," Duane J., from the rescue group, tells Waggle. "He loves to be held and carried, and he sinks into our arms and looks up at us with the most adoring eyes." Though the group can't fix Otis' past, they promise to give him all the care and love he deserves in the future. "Otis is the sweetest, best behaved little bundle of love we've ever had the honor of caring for," Duane says. "Otis loves to eat, is happy, and always wags his tail. He can't move very fast, but he does waddle around, exploring and bringing smiles to all. If ever a little dog deserved love, care, and medications to make him comfortable in his golden years, Otis does." The sanctuary provides lifetime care for old and sick animals and relies on the generosity of others to keep its doors open. Please give and show Otis what being loved is like!
Matthew
Matthew is a two-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in New York City, NY, who needs $1,200 for urgent care.

A volunteer for Puppy Kitty NYC (PKNYC) first spotted a glimpse of Matthew when she was at a gas station filling up her tank. "She saw this cat with a huge wound on his head and neck and asked us if we could save him," Meagan L., with PKNYC, tells Waggle. "She went back, put food in a carrier, and he came right in. Thank goodness she was in the right place at the right time." The rescue whisked him off to the Animal Clinic of Queens for care. Matthew had an enormous abscess on the back of his ear. "It was a huge wound. It was pretty gruesome. We're pretty sure it started as a bite or scratch wound. Matthew was sedated. Then the veterinarian cleaned out the infected area, put in a drain, and stitched him back up. He had sutures from the top of his ear to his jaw," Meagan says. All their hard work paid off. Matthew is doing so well, and they discovered he has a loving personality. "Despite all his injuries, he was still the sweetest cat," Meagan says. "He's doing amazing now. You never know what we will get, especially when we save one off the street. He's a beautiful cat." Matthew will be up for adoption soon, but PKNYC is trying to raise money to pay off his medical bills, and they're hoping you can help! "Our rescue gets no government funding," Meagan says. "We have to rely on good-hearted citizens who care about rescue. We rely on Waggle supporters in order to keep doing the work we're doing. Thank you to anyone who gives to his campaign."

I was in a horrible car accident and I had young kids at home still. I almost completely lost the use and function of everything from my waist down and landed in a wheelchair permanently. I got Brie as a pup and trained with her for her to be my balance and mobility support animal. Brie helped me relearn how to walk after 3 of 6 spine surgeries that I needed in order to keep me independent Brie is amazing. She great and gentle with the tiniest creatures and still as rough and tumble as a dog can get. She’s smart beyond all things I could possibly imagine for a dog and has become my very literal right hand man. lol I don’t have feeling in my right foot so can’t feel it on the ground. She’s there to help me be stable while walking. Brie is my service dog. I depend on her daily to help me regain mobility every day and to navigate the world safely when I literally can’t feel the world under my feet. She’s always right there when I’m in pain, helping to distract me and snuggling me when I need it, but to also dance around the house with me when I’m having good days and times. Brie needs desperate oral care. She recently lost a tooth, there are 3 more that need to be removed and the rest need a good deep cleaning. Her teeth have always been not great despite brushing and she even lets me scale them at home. This needs more care now and because of putting it off the last couple of years because of covid, there’s no more delaying. We needed to move recently and I’m still stuck waiting on the deposit refund from my last place. The move costed a lot of money and I’m waiting on a lot of things right now. So, we’re basically in a financial limbo at the moment until all things come together.
Cleo
Cleo is a six-year-old Bulldog mix in Richmond, VA, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

For years, every step Cleo took was painful. She suffered from luxating patellas, a condition where her knee caps don't stay in place. Sadly, no one ever helped her or fixed them -- until Amy and the Compassion Animal Project came into Cleo's life. Amy adopted Cleo, even with her leg issues. Cleo became a source of joy and warmth for Amy after she lost her sister to a long battle with ALS. And Amy worked tirelessly to help Cleo's knees, even trying regenerative therapy treatments. Unfortunately, Cleo's condition worsened, and she tore both of her cranial cruciate ligaments. Now Cleo needs surgery on both her legs. Amy and the Compassion Animal Project have spent thousands of dollars on Cleo's care, and with your generous help, Cleo will finally be able to walk without pain! "Cleo and Amy are quite the dynamic duo and have grown to need one another since the day Cleo was adopted," Kristina S., from the nonprofit organization, tells Waggle. "Their favorite activity to do together is travel to the beach on a sunny day and nature watch. Their love is unbreakable, and we are touched by the lengths Amy has gone to give Cleo the quality of life she deserves!"
Vex
Vex is a 6-year-old Tabby Cat in San Jose, CA, who needs $342 for Bloodwork Diagnostics.

We adopted a stray cat without knowing she was pregnant. She gave birth to 5 beautiful kitties and we've had Vex since. He's now 6 years old. He's always been a happy cat, meowing and exploring his environment. He was raised with 4 brothers and sisters, two of whom have passed away with what we now suspect was FIP. We own two beautiful cats, who are our world. A few weeks ago, we noticed our furbaby Vex wasn't eating and he looked skinnier than usual. He was sneezing and sleeping a lot. We took him to the vet and had his bloodwork done. He loves getting head scritches and butts his head against everyone's legs, stranger or not! His signature move is flopping down on his side and meowing that he's content. Currently, he sleeps all day and he is still not accepting food. His belly pouch has pretty much disappeared! We are extremely worried about him. He’s more than just a cat – he’s family. We’re not ready to say goodbye just yet, and with your help, we could save him. Our vet at Sun City Animal Hospital in Las Vegas, NV suspects he has Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). We've started him on treatment but it's very expensive. We still need help paying for his periodic bloodwork, which is $171 each time, and we still have two more rounds to make sure he's cured from FIP. I recently lost my part-time job and my rent is incredibly high - we appreciate everyone's help. Vex is part of our family and we're so grateful to have more time with him. We are so thankful to all our supporters!

He was a gift after I lost my love cat of 13 years. He has made me happy ever since day one. I was supposed to get his brother but instead got him and he's the best.i don't want to loose him. So please help. He is very loving and caring. Will not use teeth or nails for anything but play. I don't know what else to say. He is very loving and acts like he's a dog. He plays like a dog. Gives kisses.and cuddles to anyone he meets. Loves the dogs he meets and plays with some cats. He loves people the most. I would love to have him healthy and happy again. So please help me do this for him. He needs it. I would be lost without him. He is sweet and kind. He gives a lot of kisses. He hides his toys and we still haven't found anything he has his. He doesn't like his picture taken hince the photos. He loves to be in my face at all times which makes it hard for me to do anything. I so want that back. He's the best cat I ever had. Please help me get my boy back to normal. Nothing to say other than he has an upper respiratory infection that I need to get cleared up. I am fostering a cat that urd and that's where he got his infection. He needs to be on antibiotics to get rid of it and I can't afford it at the moment I am on a fixed income and my rent and utilities take it up. He is going to veterinary medical hospital. I don't want to loose my boy due to this he is my world now.he is only 3 months I have at least another 20 years I want to go with him. He is a little baby and needs help.
Leonard

Leonard was born in my home on June 20, 2011. He has been with me his entire life. His mama dog (Millie)was a pregnant stray Yorkie brought in at our local vet clinic in need of a home. I was in college at the time, and adopted her. Leonard loved his Mama Millie so much, I obviously had to keep him too. Not that it took much convincing... Lenny loves to be anywhere I am. We love to go hiking and on car rides together. Leonard lost his eye sight in 2020, but he still wants to go every where I am, so he often rides in my backpack. Leonard is my little protector. He sleeps right next to me at night, and even sleeps on the ledge of the tub when I'm taking a bath. If you haven't noticed, Leonard loves sleeping. Lenny is a hilarious, clumsy, and lovable boy. In my opinion, adorable as well. His favorite words include: hungry, ride, and bedtime. He also has his own Instagram account leonardsnorkie where you can follow some of his adventures. Leonard has become a bit of a celebrity with my elementary students, thus his Instagram account was created. Leonard has ongoing medical concerns. He is an extreme diabetic. Due to his diabetes being so out of control, Leonard is totally blind and had his left eye removed in May. Leonard wears a diabetic Libre sensor and requires an expensive perscription diet. We have spent all summer, including two surgeries, trying to find the right treatments. He is a patient at University of Missouri Animal Hospital I am a second grade teacher at a small rural school. Leonard's needs have outgrown my teaching salary. I became very ill last year and missed a lot of work. Because of that, I am having to take a big pay cut. All that aside, I just want the best for my best friend. 💙
