Azul, Laverne, and Shirley were all a part of a friendly cat colony where Flying Pigs Sanctuary spayed and neutered 15 cats —stopping countless future litters and giving every one of them a healthier future. And they are quite possibly the sweetest kitties ever. Thankfully, they didn't have any major health concerns; other than Azul needing dental work down the road. So right now, Flying Pigs Sanctuary is simply trying to raise $35 to cover each of their low-cost spay surgery. It may not sound like much, but when they’re helping colony after colony, $35 + $35 + $35 adds up FAST. Every vet bill they’re able to cover means they have the resources to say YES to the next cat who needs us. And for these sweeties, this $35 spay is one of the final steps toward something they absolutely deserve: an amazing, loving INDOOR forever home. They're done having babies and surviving outside. 🐾 South Carolina Community Cat Project Needs Your Help Zita has already endured more heartbreak than any cat should ever have to face. After losing every one of her kittens, this sweet mama cat should have been given the chance to grieve and begin healing. Instead, she is now facing a life-threatening medical emergency of her own. Zita was rushed to the emergency veterinarian after developing a dangerously high fever of 105°F. Bloodwork revealed her white blood cell count had skyrocketed to over 42,000, a sign that her body was battling a severe infection. Veterinarians quickly determined the likely cause: stump pyometra, a rare but life-threatening infection that can occur after a previous spay surgery. The infection has rapidly progressed to sepsis, and without immediate surgery, Zita has less than 24 hours to live. She is in surgery today, but this emergency came without warning. Her emergency examination, diagnostics, hospitalization, stabilization, and lifesaving surgery have already created overwhelming veterinary expenses for South Carolina Community Cat Project, and there are still additional costs ahead as she recovers. Will you help save Zita's life? Every tax-deductible donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward the emergency care she needs to survive. When Flying Pigs Sanctuary first met Cindi—with an “I” —she was barely more than a kitten herself. She was living in a colony of 15 adult cats and 15 kittens —30 cats, all friendly, all desperate for love, and all needing someone to step in and change the trajectory of their lives. And Cindi was a momma. She was skinny, covered in fleas, missing an eye, and clearly had already experienced more hardship in her short life than any animal should. But none of that stopped her from being an incredible mother. Her babies came first. Always. She cared for them like a pro, keeping them fed, safe, and loved while her own little body desperately needed care. So we made Cindi a promise: Take care of your babies, sweet girl, and then it’s YOUR turn. Once her kittens were old enough to be weaned, Flying Pigs got Cindi fully vetted and healthy enough to begin the next chapter of her life. But unfortunately, these exams come with a cost. Every time they say YES to a momma cat like her, they take on the cost of exams, vaccines, testing, flea treatment, medications, spay surgery, and whatever else she needs to leave her old life behind. Once he realized the humans around him were there to help, there was no question about returning him outside. Ozzie didn't want to be a feral cat; he wanted to become BFF’s with Harriot and find an amazing happily ever after. So the plan changed. Ozzie has been fully vetted and is officially ready for the best part of his story: finding his forever home! But saving cats like Ozzie comes with a cost. What begins as a TNR appointment can quickly become full veterinary care, foster care, and preparation for adoption—and those bills add up FAST, especially from big colonies of feral cats. What’s cuter than a tiny black kitten? A tiny black kitten with NO TAIL. Meet Bob Marley, Flying Pigs Sanctuary's ridiculously adorable little bobtail boy who was born right here at the sanctuary after his feral mama found her way to us. Mama has since been trapped and spayed, which means Bob and his siblings will be her last litter—and that alone is something worth celebrating. But they noticed that little Bob was developing just a bit slower than his siblings. Before sending him off to foster care and beginning his journey toward adoption, they wanted to make absolutely sure there wasn’t anything they were missing. So, off to the vet he went! Apparently Bob Marley didn’t get the memo that the vet is supposed to be scary. He proceeded to steal the hearts of everyone in the clinic, lounging upside down without a care in the world and soaking up every single ounce of love and attention being offered. Thankfully, their sweet little guy checked out, and with a little medication and some extra TLC, he’s continuing to move in the right direction. His vet visit and medication cost $150, and now they need your help covering Bob’s bill. Meet Bugs: From a cage to a best friend.

At just three months old, Bugs had already experienced more neglect than any animal ever should. Flying Pigs Sanctuary found this exuberant little kitten in a horrific hoarding case, locked in a cage by herself, covered in feces and absolutely desperate for love. But the second that cage door opened, Bugs didn’t hesitate. She came bounding out. She was so excited to see a human. So excited to be touched, held, and loved. Before Bugs can begin her journey toward adoption, they needed to make sure everything happening on the outside hadn’t caused something serious on the inside. So they rushed her to the vet for an evaluation, testing, and the care she needed so they can be confident in moving her to foster care. And Bugs has proven to be an absolutely AMAZING kitten. Even more beautifully, she found Finley —another little survivor from the same horrific hoarding case. Finley lost both of her siblings despite everything we did to save them, and now Bugs has taken her under her wing. The two have become best pals, playing, snuggling and learning together what kittenhood was supposed to look like all along. This is why they do it. They can’t erase the cage. They can’t erase the neglect. They can’t give them back the beginning they deserved. But they can completely rewrite the ending. When someone discovered a tiny kitten alone in the bathroom at their workplace, they weren't sure where he had come from or what to do. They reached out to Poofer's Place and sent photos of the kitten. When the rescue saw his condition, they knew he needed help. Now named Grant, the kitten was extremely thin, dehydrated, and had a deep injury on his hip where it appeared something had caught and torn his skin open. Poofer's Place immediately stepped in to care for Grant, keeping him warm and comfortable while assessing his condition and providing the supportive care he needed. His injury also requires veterinary attention, creating an unexpected expense for the rescue. Your donation will help cover Grant's veterinary care and the treatment he needs as he heals. Finley deserves the absolute best. And after everything she has survived, Flying Pigs Sanctuary is going to make sure she gets it. Finley was pulled from a horrific hoarding case in Tennessee where more than 150 animals were living on the property. She and her two tiny siblings were found confined in a cage, covered in feces and desperately needing help. They got all three babies into veterinary care immediately. But they were sadly too late for Finley’s two littermates. Finley struggled too, and there were moments when they were terrified they might lose her. But they refused to give up. She received the veterinary care she desperately needed, and this tiny girl fought with everything she had. And Finley made it. Today, she is thriving in an amazing foster home—growing stronger, learning what it feels like to be safe and loved, and getting closer every day to being ready for her forever family. There is something especially bittersweet about watching her thrive. They look at Finley and can't help but think about the two babies who should be growing up beside her. Finley will never again live in a filthy cage. She will never again be forgotten among more animals than anyone could possibly care for. From this point forward, this sweet, special girl gets only the best. Soon, Finley will be looking for the forever home she fought so hard to live for.
