Trapped, Injured, and Crying for Help—Let's Give Nubby the Life He Deserves

The cries coming from an old truck at a local junkyard led to a heartbreaking discovery. A tiny two-month-old kitten had become trapped inside a truck spring, desperately crying for help. He was completely alone. There was no mother in sight, no siblings to comfort him—just a frightened baby suffering from devastating injuries. We named him Nubby Jones. By the time Nubby was rescued and brought to Purrfect Peaches Cat Rescue, it was clear he had endured unimaginable trauma. His left front leg was fractured, and his tiny paw had been so severely crushed that it could not be saved. Despite everything he had been through, Nubby greeted everyone with gentle purrs, curious eyes, and a playful spirit that refused to give up. His resilience reminds us that even the smallest hearts can carry incredible strength. After a thorough examination, our veterinary team determined that the kindest and only path to a pain-free future is to amputate Nubby's injured front leg. While that sounds heartbreaking, kittens are amazingly adaptable. They quickly learn to balance on three legs, running, climbing, playing, and living full, joyful lives without chronic pain. Now Nubby needs one more miracle. Taffy is a 10 year old Greyhound in Geneva, OH, who needs $1,388 for Diagnostics and Treatment for Mass in Throat and Dental Surgery

Sweet as the candy, Taffy lives with her brother, Blind Truman and her sister Tootie (both have or had Waggle campaigns) at the Sanctuary at NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue. This trio of littermates are know as The Triplets. A few days ago, we felt a concerning lump/mass in Taffy's throat. Our vet examined her, ran lab tests and took a sample for a cytology. While there is no signs of cancer or infection, we need to monitor the mass closely and if it doesn't resolve on its own, we need to move to plan B which will involve medications and/or surgery. Taffy inherited the "bad teeth" gene, like her brother Truman. Her dental disease started causing her problems that no amount of daily brushing, scaling or additives could fix. We recently had to extract her remaining teeth to prevent infection, pain, sickness and premature death. We now need to raise funds to cover those vet bills. Taffy is the most outgoing of the Triplets and is the strong one that holds the group together. She's also the overseer of the other hounds and always has her nose in everyone else's business. When NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue saw immediately how sister Tootie depended on Taffy for her support and comfort and they knew they could never separate them. Now, brother Blind Truman also leans on Taffy and together they share their caretaker's bed. Advanced age has brought Taffy some other medical issues, including an enlarged heart and pannus in both eyes. Thankfully, medications and supplements are keeping these in check. As a registered nonprofit animal rescue, NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to pay for the medical care of the senior animals in their program. They have raised funds to cover Taffy's pre-surgical lab tests. Now they need funds to pay for her surgery bill. Can you help Taffy to live the rest of her life free of dental pain?
Wasabi
After Losing Her Leg, Wasabi Faces Another Medical Challenge

Wasabi has already overcome a devastating leg injury and learned to navigate life on three legs. Now this little survivor is facing another medical issue, and her rescuers are working to find out what's causing her tummy troubles. Wasabi was born outside as one of six kittens in a community cat colony. The original plan was for the kittens to go through TNR, but everything changed when their caretaker noticed something terribly wrong with Wasabi. She had suffered a severe injury to one of her legs, leaving an open wound with bone protruding from the limb. Despite how painful it looked, this determined little kitten was still showing up for food and water. When Rags to Riches Animal Rescue learned about her condition, they stepped in. Veterinarians ultimately determined that Wasabi's damaged leg could not be saved, and she underwent an amputation. Wasabi didn't seem interested in letting the loss of a leg slow her down for long. She recovered remarkably well and quickly adapted to getting around as a tripod. Her story even caught the attention of an adopter, and she began transitioning into a foster-to-adopt home while awaiting full medical clearance. But Wasabi's veterinary needs weren't quite finished. More recently, she began experiencing diarrhea, prompting additional testing to determine what could be causing her gastrointestinal problems. Her veterinary team ordered a feline diarrhea RealPCR panel, a diagnostic test that can help identify infectious causes behind persistent GI symptoms. That testing resulted in another $168 veterinary expense for her rescue. For a kitten who started life outside and once faced the possibility of being returned to her colony, Wasabi's world looks completely different today. She has survived a major injury, adapted beautifully to life on three legs, and has someone eager to give her the loving home she deserves. Help Bunny Heal — A Tiny Puppy’s Second Chance

Our newest save is Bunny — and she’s as small as her story is heartbreaking. At just 8–9 weeks old and weighing only 3 pounds, this tiny puppy found herself alone on a kind citizen’s front porch. Concerned for her safety, they contacted animal control, and Bunny was brought to the shelter to begin her journey toward healing. Bunny was diagnosed with demodex mange, a skin condition caused by Demodex canis mites. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies who have immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to increase rapidly. While it's treatable, it can become serious if a secondary bacterial infection sets in, so her rescuers are acting quickly to give her the best chance at a full recovery. Bunny has already had a veterinary checkup and has started the medication she needs, but she's not out of the woods yet. Ongoing treatment and care come with costs, and this sweet, resilient girl still needs your support to fully recover. For such a tiny puppy, Bunny has had a lot of change in a very short amount of time — from being found alone and frightened on a stranger’s porch, to shelter intake, veterinary exams, medications, and now finally a safe place where she can simply rest. Right now, rest is exactly what her little body needs. She is continuing her treatment for demodex mange while enjoying soft blankets, good meals, and the comfort of knowing she is no longer alone. Each day of proper nutrition, medication, and stress-free recovery helps her immune system do the hard work of healing her skin. Help Chilli get Bone removal/Tumor Removal — Billings, MT

Chilli and I rescued each other 3 years ago at the shelter in Missoula. Since then we've moved cities, traveled the state extensively, walked and hiked over a thousand miles. She is my ride or die and I don't remember a life without her. She loves people and brings joy with her everywhere she goes with her kind eyes and calm demeanor. She loves belly scratches and anything that she can chase Chilli went to Billings Animal Clinic due to a bloody nose in her left nostril that bled for a concerning amount of time. That led to a surgery to see what was in her left nostril and an extraction of 5 tablespoons of debris. The debris was sent for testing and is fibrous tumor tissue so she was diagnosed with Chondrosarcoma and requires a surgery to remove bone so the tumor does not metastisize Our bond was immediate when we met. She is the first dog I have ever owned as an adult. Seeing her little nubbin wagging when I started talking to her at the shelter melted my heart and the rest is history. We understand each other on a level that is deeper than can be expressed. Everywhere she is allowed to go with me she goes. She got a second chance at life and she isn't done I am fortunate to have a great job. I put money aside specifically for her care including her allergy shots. But even I couldn't be prepared for $6000 worth of vet bills in a two week span. I'm a single DogDad and can only do so much alone.

Help Autumn get Toe Amputation and lymph node removal — Chattanooga, TN

Autumn is my eight-year-old “purebred mutt,” adopted from a local animal rescue. She's been my adventure buddy since she was 14 weeks old! She lives for hiking, camping, and exploring new places, and can barely contain her excitement at the trailhead. At home, she's my faithful gardening companion. Sweet, affectionate, and eager to please, Autumn is happiest by my side. Autumn was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor on her front toe that has spread to a nearby lymph node. She's receiving care at Veterinary Care and Specialty Group (VCSG). An abdominal ultrasound is scheduled to check for further spread. If results allow, she needs surgery to amputate the affected toe and remove the cancerous lymph node. Autumn is my soul dog and my emotional support animal. For eight years, she's been my constant companion through life's hardest moments and greatest adventures. we've spent years exploring mountains across the country, scrambling over rocks, and successfully harvesting a garden. She's also deeply bonded to her husky brother, Kody, who has been by her side since the day she joined our family. After recovering from major knee surgery last year, we were finally ready for new adventures when cancer changed everything. I'm terrified of losing her, and of Kody losing his best friend. More than anything, I want Autumn to have another chance to do what she loves. I'm not asking for forever. I'm asking for more time to give her the adventures, love, and happiness she deserves. I'm a full-time public school teacher and part-time climbing coach. My savings have been depleted by Autumn's previous knee surgery, unexpected home repairs, and rising living expenses. I've begun using CareCredit for her cancer diagnostics, but the costs of further testing and surgery are overwhelming. I'm doing everything I can to give Autumn a fighting chance, and any support would mean the world to us.

When your rescue partner messages you “I just found the tiniest kitten, and I don’t think he’s going to make it.” You spring into action without hesitation. Meet Rizzo. This tiny guy has already turned out to be a huge miracle. It turns out what Rizzo needed most was a human to notice him, scoop him up and give him a chance. Almost immediately, he started chowing down on Fancy Feast like it was his JOB. It became very clear, very quickly that this little man wanted to live, so Flying Pigs is going to give him that chance. Like so many kittens born into feral colonies, Rizzo had gotten lost in the shuffle and separated from his mama very early on. Thankfully, he was already eating wet food, which meant we could immediately get him into foster care and give him the one-on-one attention he desperately needed. Rizzo came to us terribly congested, with eyes that were in rough shape. We got him to the vet, started treatment, and while he’s still battling an upper respiratory infection, his spirit is HUGE. And because apparently the universe decided we needed a whole collection of single kittens at once, we introduced them to each other and they’ve quickly become the sweetest little family. Now we need your help getting Rizzo across the finish line. We need to cover his vet bills, medications and eventually his neuter so this tiny survivor can head off to his forever home. Big Boi is quite simply the BEST guardian dog EVER. He takes his job VERY seriously at Flying Pigs Sanctuary—watching over his little goat family alongside his partner in crime, Remi. Those goats are his babies, and leaving his herd is absolutely NOT on his list of approved activities. So when Big Boi suddenly stopped eating, they knew something wasn’t right. They dropped everything and got him to the vet—which, for a dog who believes abandoning his post for even five minutes is completely unacceptable, was a VERY stressful adventure. Thankfully, they caught it early, and it was only a UTI; nothing too serious, and exactly the kind of thing you want to catch before it becomes something bigger. Of course, an unexpected vet visit means an unexpected vet bill. If you’d like to help cover Big Boi’s vet care, every $5, $10 or $20 helps us keep saying YES when one of our residents tells us something isn’t right. Because when the guy responsible for protecting everyone else needs a little help himself… he needs you all to show up for him.

Ballerina Is Missing Both Back Feet and Needs Our Help

What was supposed to be a routine TNR quickly changed when rescuers discovered that Ballerina was missing both of her back feet. Ballerina was initially trapped so she could be spayed and returned to her outdoor home. But after realizing this little cat had no back feet, the person who trapped her knew releasing her back outside simply didn't feel right. They reached out for help, and Ballerina was brought into Rags to Riches Animal Rescue instead. At her veterinary appointment, there was thankfully some encouraging news. Despite everything she had been living with, Ballerina was in relatively good condition. There were small ulcers around the areas where her back feet should be, but they appeared to be healing. There was another major concern, though. Ballerina was only about half the weight she should have been, and she was also experiencing gastrointestinal issues and abnormal stool. Her veterinary team began investigating those problems with an exam and GI parasite testing. Ballerina also received medications including Ponazuril and Panacur, commonly used as part of parasite treatment, along with additional veterinary care to help get this little girl healthier. Her recent veterinary expenses have already reached $178.08, and after surviving outside without either of her back feet, Ballerina now has the opportunity to receive the care and protection she couldn't have had on the streets. She's still learning what she thinks about people. Although she's warming up to human interaction at her own pace, her first veterinary visit showed some promising signs, with staff able to handle her surprisingly well. For now, Ballerina has somewhere safe to heal, gain some much-needed weight, and adjust to this completely different way of life.
