Tiny Misty Is Fighting to Grow Stronger

Meet Misty, a beautiful 4-month-old Russian Blue mix from Florida with the sweetest soul. She is still just a baby, but instead of spending her days chasing toys and discovering the world, Misty has been fighting a serious illness that has left her needing intensive, around-the-clock care. After only a week in her new home, Misty became very sick. Her veterinary team has been working to determine exactly what is causing her ongoing gastrointestinal problems, and she recently tested positive for intestinal coronavirus. She has already needed antibiotics, probiotics, an enema, IV fluids, blood work, deworming treatment, and her distemper vaccination. Her care continues as her family and veterinarians work to get her stable and stronger. At home, Misty's mom is caring for her around the clock. She has to keep this tiny kitten clean as she struggles with constant diarrhea, keep her warm, feed her small amounts at a time, and carefully monitor her condition. It is exhausting and heartbreaking—but Misty's mom refuses to give up on her. “As long as she is still breathing, I will not give up on her.” Misty's mom is deeply attached to her sweet kitten and is doing everything she can to give her the chance to grow stronger. But the cost of repeated veterinary visits, diagnostics, medications, and supportive care is overwhelming for a low-income family. She is now trying to raise an additional $400 to help Misty continue receiving the veterinary care she desperately needs. A Ruptured Eye Couldn't Break Scarr's Spirit

At just a few months old, Scarr has already endured more pain than any kitten ever should. When NY Cat Warriors rescued him, he was suffering from a devastating ruptured eye that required immediate emergency veterinary care. Despite the severe pain he must have been experiencing, Scarr remained incredibly sweet, trusting, and full of the gentle spirit that has captured everyone's heart. After being evaluated by a veterinary specialist, it became clear that his eye could not be saved. Scarr recently underwent enucleation surgery to remove the damaged eye. While losing an eye is heartbreaking, the surgery has given him something even more important: a chance to live without constant pain. Now that he's recovering, Scarr is showing everyone just how resilient he is. You would never guess everything he's been through as he continues embracing life like any happy kitten would. His playful personality is beginning to shine, and his rescuers are looking forward to watching him grow into the healthy, carefree cat he was always meant to be. But his journey isn't over. Help Sunday Heal After a Suspected Hit and Run

Sunday was found badly injured near a dangerous road, and her injuries suggest she may have been the victim of a hit and run. A caretaker with Gatos Borincoon spotted Sunday near one of the cat colonies they care for and immediately knew something was wrong. The colony is home to TNVR cats as well as cats who are unfortunately abandoned in the area. Gatos Borincoon and their caretakers regularly look after the cats living there, and when friendly strays, abandoned cats or kittens are found, they work to get them into foster homes and somewhere safe. When Sunday was found, her injuries made it appear that she may have been hit by a car. She was named Sunday for the day she was rescued and was quickly brought to the vet to find out just how badly she had been hurt. Thankfully, the veterinary team did not find a spinal fracture, but Sunday is still dealing with significant injuries. X-rays revealed that her jaw is dislocated, and there are also concerns about a possible injury to her tail. Sunday was given Convenia, an antibiotic, along with medication to help manage her pain. She is now being closely monitored by her caretaker to make sure she is able to eat soft food, urinate and have bowel movements normally. If she does not show positive improvement, she will need to return to the emergency vet. For a cat who was found injured outside with no one to call her own, having someone notice her and act quickly may have made all the difference. Gatos Borincoon was able to get Sunday the veterinary attention she needed and make sure she had a safe place to be monitored while she recovers. Sunday is safe for now, but her recovery is just beginning. Her caretaker will continue watching her closely while her medical team determines what additional veterinary care she may need for her jaw, tail and other injuries. She has been refusing to eat, although her caretaker was able to encourage her to take a small amount of slurry. Because of the concern surrounding her appetite, Sunday is being taken back to the vet for another evaluation. We also have more information about the extent of her injuries. In addition to her injured tail, Sunday's jaw was displaced. She was sedated so the medical team could take X-rays, which confirmed a jaw luxation. While she was under sedation, the vet was able to manually reduce the luxation and reposition her jaw. The veterinary team has recommended that Sunday be evaluated by an orthopedic specialist, but unfortunately, the cost of specialized care is beyond what the rescue can afford right now. For the moment, her caretaker is monitoring her closely and doing everything possible to keep her comfortable while they determine what her next steps will be. Sunday has already been through so much, and her road to recovery isn't close to over yet. Please continue to keep this sweet girl in your thoughts. Abandoned, Broken, and Still Fighting: Help Huey Get the Care He Deserves

Someone left Huey on a bench outside Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation in nothing more than a carrier. There was no note. No explanation. Just a frightened little Yorkshire Terrier mix who could barely keep his balance. Huey was walking in circles, his eyes darting uncontrollably, and he struggled to stay on his feet without falling over. It was obvious something was terribly wrong. Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation immediately rushed him for veterinary care. Initial diagnostics, including X-rays, painted a heartbreaking picture. Not only was Huey suffering from serious neurological problems, but the imaging also revealed evidence of horrific trauma. Veterinarians found a fractured back, approximately seven new fractures and nearly twenty healed fractures, leading them to suspect that Huey had endured prolonged, severe abuse before he was abandoned. Despite everything he has been through, Huey has never stopped fighting. Huey was referred to a veterinary neurologist after showing persistent neurological signs, including involuntary eye movements (nystagmus), circling, difficulty walking, and suspected vision and hearing loss. While he has made encouraging progress with supportive care and antibiotics, he continues to circle in unfamiliar environments, has an abnormal high-stepping gait, and still shows signs of neurological impairment. After a comprehensive neurological examination, specialists determined that Huey's condition likely involves multiple areas of his brain, including the cerebellum, which controls coordination and movement. There are several possible causes, including previous head trauma, a brain infection, congenital abnormalities, a stroke, or another neurological disorder. While his improvement is encouraging, the exact cause remains unknown. Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation is continuing conservative management for now while Huey remains on antibiotics and restricted activity. Due to his previous spinal fractures, he must avoid jumping, rough play, and other high-impact activities while he continues to heal. One thing is abundantly clear: Huey has not given up. Even after everything he has endured, he greets his caregivers with a happy spirit and a determination that inspires everyone who meets him. His neurologist believes his quality of life is good and that he deserves every opportunity to continue his recovery. Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation is committed to giving Huey that chance, but they cannot do it alone. His veterinary team has determined that Huey is mostly deaf and mostly blind, though he is still able to detect shadows and navigate familiar surroundings with increasing confidence. Despite these lasting impairments, Huey's joyful personality continues to shine through. His journey is far from over. Huey will continue to need ongoing veterinary monitoring, medications, and follow-up veterinary care to ensure he remains comfortable and continues making progress. While some of the damage caused by the unimaginable abuse he suffered may be permanent, his improvement is a testament to the incredible difference that compassionate medical care and a safe, loving environment can make. Fred's Hidden Wounds Nearly Cost Him His Life

Fred is a community cat who has spent his life surviving outdoors. When his caregiver noticed what appeared to be an injury near the base of his tail, she knew he needed help and reached out to Cat & Release of Palm Beach County for help getting him veterinary care. What initially looked like a simple wound turned out to be a severe abscess that had already ruptured. The veterinary team cleaned and treated the area, and Fred was brought home to recover in a safe, quiet space. But Fred wasn't getting better. Despite treatment, he remained lethargic and had little interest in eating. Concerned that something was wrong, we rushed him back to the veterinarian. There, the team discovered a second abscess hidden beneath his fur on the opposite side of his body. The infection had become so severe that Fred was running a dangerously high fever of 105 degrees. This tough outdoor survivor had been suffering from multiple painful infections while trying to fend for himself. Fred is now receiving additional medical treatment, antibiotics, wound care, and close monitoring. He will remain indoors during his recovery, where he can finally rest and heal without the daily challenges of life on the streets. While Fred may be considered feral, he has shown a softer side throughout his ordeal. He enjoys gentle head pets and has allowed us to help him through what has undoubtedly been one of the most difficult times of his life. Cat & Release of Palm Beach County stepped in to ensure Fred received the care he desperately needed, but his veterinary expenses have quickly grown beyond what was expected. We are asking for your help to cover the cost of his examinations, treatment for multiple abscesses, medications, hospitalization, and ongoing recovery care. After five nights at the vet hospital due to a 105-plus temperature, Fred is doing much better. Despite the antibiotic injection, infection really took hold of him for a time and we were worried. The doctor wasn’t sure what was going on, but finally his temp went down. He’s in a back bedroom to recuperate, and he has started to play a when I wave the wand toy. Not too much, but he plays! Although I don’t need another cat, I cannot put him back where I found him so injured. It’s a dangerous place. Any help to cover vet bills will be very appreciated. 8/2/26 Update We have wonderful news to share—Fred is continuing to heal, and he's doing incredibly well! After everything he's endured, seeing this once-sick community cat regain his strength has been nothing short of amazing. His fur has grown back beautifully, his painful wounds have healed, and, best of all, the dangerously high fever that kept him hospitalized for five nights appears to be gone for good. While Fred is physically feeling much better, he's made one thing very clear—he doesn't miss life on the streets. Although he isn't exactly thrilled about sharing his space with other cats, his caregiver has made the decision that he will not be returned to the dangerous area where he was found so severely injured. After spending the past couple of months recovering indoors, Fred is staying safe where he belongs. It's been heartwarming to watch his personality emerge. Beneath his tough outdoor exterior is a very sweet, very handsome boy who has captured our hearts. None of this would have been possible without the support of compassionate donors who believed Fred deserved a second chance. Thankfully, Fred fought through it. His wounds have healed, his fur has grown back, and he is feeling so much better. He has even rediscovered his playful side, enjoying wand toys and gentle head pets from the person who has cared for him through his recovery. And Fred has made his wishes very clear: he does NOT want to go back outside. 😸 Although he isn't a fan of dogs or most other cats, Fred has a safe bedroom of his own and gets time to roam the house when it is quiet. He has even made peace with one cat roommate. After spending so long alone and vulnerable on the streets, he may never become the most social cat—but he has found someone he trusts, a safe place to call home, and a chance to live out the rest of his life without worrying about his next meal, dangerous surroundings, or untreated injuries. Chico’s owners lied and abandoned him like disposable property. He arrived neglected and traumatized, but transformed into the gentlest 80lb soul dog. He’s a gentle giant who adores kids, cats, and his anxious dog sister, showing her how to feel safe. Taking him unexpectedly kept him out of the shelter system—where he’d likely be euthanized. He healed a part of my heart I didn't know was broken. Chico arrived unchipped, unvaccinated, and with severe ear infections. Beyond treating his ears, when I finally took him for full care, he tested positive for heartworm. Based on respiratory & cardiac symptoms, the vet suspects he’s had it for over a year. We are seeking help to cure this treatable disease. He’s being treated by Dr. Henderson at Vetco Total Care. Chico is a total character who dramatically huffs and grunts like an 8-year-old before obeying. He follows me for bedtime, demanding his own pillow and close cuddles. Whenever I return home, he gets zoomies and grabs his favorite purple Kong bear for tug-of-war. Despite being terrified of thunder and the dark, he’s a gentle soul who lays his head in my lap when I cry. He’s my true soul dog! As a teacher, I get no pay for 4 months (June–mid-Sept). I'm 2.5 months behind on rent and facing wage garnishments. Side jobs aren't enough to cover his care and my living expenses. Chico is the heart of my world. Penelope Survived Unspeakable Cruelty—Now She Needs Your Help to Heal

No kitten should ever have to endure what Penelope has been through. This tiny, innocent kitten was found wandering the streets in heartbreaking condition. Her neck was painfully twisted to one side, she could barely walk without stumbling in circles, and both of her eyes had ruptured. It was clear she was suffering immensely and desperately needed help. Thankfully, Paws and Claws Animal Welfare Society refused to look away. Penelope was rushed to the veterinarian, where bloodwork and X-rays revealed the devastating reality of her condition. Her veterinary team believes she suffered severe blunt-force trauma to the head, likely the result of abuse. The injury left her with neurological damage affecting her neck and balance, and a serious infection—combined with the trauma—is believed to have caused the rupture of both of her eyes. Despite everything she has endured, Penelope is still fighting. Right now, she is receiving intensive medical care, including IV fluids to keep her hydrated, vitamin B12 injections to support her recovery, antibiotics to battle the infection, and anti-inflammatory medications to reduce pain and swelling. Her veterinary team is focused on stabilizing her condition before taking the next critical step. Once Penelope is strong enough, she will undergo surgery to remove both of her damaged eyes. Although she will be permanently blind, cats are incredibly resilient, and with proper care, blind cats can live happy, joyful, and fulfilling lives. For Penelope, this surgery represents the beginning of a future without constant pain. She has already survived the unimaginable. Now she deserves the chance to truly live. While her journey is far from over, Penelope is making steady progress. She remains on several medications as her veterinary team continues treating her injuries and carefully monitoring her condition. Perhaps the most heartwarming update is that Penelope's personality is beginning to shine through. Tulip is receiving intensive veterinary care after suffering severe skin injuries that have left her with extensive damage. While the exact circumstances remain unknown, it is suspected that Tulip may have been dragged underneath a vehicle. What is certain is that she arrived needing immediate medical attention and continues to require ongoing treatment to give her the best chance at healing. Under the care of Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana and their veterinary team, Tulip has been receiving steroids, antibiotics, medicated ointments, specialized creams, and frequent medicated baths. Every part of her treatment has been focused on helping her skin heal while keeping her as comfortable as possible. In addition to her medical care, Tulip also requires special compression suits, ultra-soft bedding, and other supportive supplies to protect her fragile skin during her recovery. Today, she is healed and ready to find a forever family who will give her the love and care she deserves. Tulip's journey hasn't been easy, but she never gave up—and now she has the chance to leave her difficult past behind and begin a happy new chapter. This is Onyx. Onyx was recently found severely neglected and uncared for, for far too long. CAMO Rescue stepped right up and took this 1 lb guy in for some serious TLC. Underneath the fleas, hair loss, and eye infection, we know there is a sweet kitty who is begging to find his soft place to land. Though we haven’t known him long, we already see a personality shining through and we are hopeful you get to see it too. This course of treatment will not be instant, and several follow up appointments and medications will be necessary which is why we need your help! CAMO continues to take in severely neglected animals, and while we love doing it, it gets expensive. With your help Onyx can see clearly, live comfortably, and regrow the fur he should have.
