Coconut
Coconut is an eight-month-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Once rescuers examined Coconut, they realized sadly, at just eight months old, he had lost his vision. Coconut needs extensive surgery to remove his damaged eyes and a complicated neuter operation because his testicles are located inside his abdomen. The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge is dedicated to saving Coconut and finding him the best forever home possible. "This sweet boy deserves a chance at a better life, and we need your help to get him the veterinary care he urgently needs," Amy H., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "This young boy has faced challenges that most of us can't even imagine, but with your help, we can give him a chance at a better future."
Yam

Yam came to us for a second chance at life only 3 weeks ago!! He was a rescue. He has been a kill shelter in another state due to his breed. He stole our hearts from the moment we met. We are a military & Veteran family. I have severe PTSD and we adopted Yam because his demeanor was perfect for a therapy dog. He is loving, responsive to emotions and loves to snuggle and lick away my anxieties! Yam had a severe and life threatening GDV/bloat. This is a sudden, very scary condition that is often fatal! It happens very fast and has to be treated immediately. He received emergency surgery to correct his contorted stomach. Yam has made it through and is in recovery but is still in the hospital! The staff at Pender Veterinary Center saved his life! I am veteran with severe PTSD and Yam is my therapy dog. He is so sweet…. We say Yam, “the sweetest of all the potatoes”. He loves to give lots of kisses and snuggles. He's a Scorpio and enjoys long walks on the grass, sunbathing and cheese. I can’t imagine my mental health recovery without him. We are on a fixed income due to the fact I can’t work right now because of my PTSD. The overall cost is between totaling at $10k-$13k! Everyday Yam stays in the hospital is more money. Anything helps! Please help us bring our Yam home!

Sumitra used to hangout at the little league baseball fields. She enjoyed the attention of everyone there and all the love she received. A family friend posted on Facebook that she was concerned that Sumitra wouldn’t make it through the winter since the Jay who used to feed her was no longer around. So naturally we took her in and now we can’t imagine life without her. I had to take Sumitra to the veterinary hospital on 4-15 because she wasn’t urinating and I was concerned about a blockage. Doc told us that she has crystals in her urine, possibly infection in her ears and has some rotting teeth that need to be pulled. Sumitra will show affection to anyone she comes into contact with. She’s the most loving cat I’ve ever known. She loves to play with her toys, yet does absolutely nothing when she sees mice. Lol! She rolls over on her back when you try to rub her belly. Living paycheck to paycheck is the reason this has been her first vet visit since she’s been in our family. She deserves to have the best care possible and I can’t wait any longer to make sure she gets it. She’s 14 years old and I want to make her last years the best yet.

Ariel
Ariel is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Bolton, CT, who needs $2,000 for Pleural Effusion and Pneumonia.

Ariel is one of 10 cats we took into our rescue from a very sad hoarding situation. All these cats have had off/on Upper Respiratory Infections and eye discharge since they came into our care back in June of 2023. We noticed that Ariel wasn’t feeling well and separated her to better monitor her. We also found out that Ariel was pregnant. She gave birth to 3 kittens. Ariel's breathing became heavier than we would like and we rushed her to Central Emergency Vet. She had bloodwork and x-rays done, which showed she had pleural effusion and pneumonia. The bloodwork showed some elevated markers which indicate a strong possibility of FIP as well as a very rare bacteria not usually found in cats. Ariel needed to be placed into oxygen for a few days to help her. All the cats that came from this very sad hoarding situation have had a rough start to their lives and never received any vet care until we took them in. They all deserve a chance at finding a forever home where they will gat all the love and attention (and medical care) they deserve. Since Ariel came into our care on May 23, 2023, we have spent $9,554 on medical care for her. We also spent another $8,874 on one of her housemates that came from the same hoarding situation that also needed extensive medical care. We are drowning in medical bills.
Mama Kitty
Mama Kitty is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Beckley, WV, who needs $200 for Dental Surgery.

So Mama Kitty was a stray being taken care of by a woman. She was moving and reached out for help. Mama Kitty was pregnant along side her daughter. I took them in to be spayed and was told Mama Kitty was old and needed a dental badly. She is in foster right now but will definitely need her teeth worked on. I found a nice budget vet who would do it for $160-$200. She desperately needs this done. She has several bad teeth and needs them removed they cause her a great deal of pain. After looking around I found Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital who is able to do it for a much lower cost than my local vets. She is special because she is an old lady who has lived a long and hard life not being a spoiled pampered house cat. She deserves to retire peacefully with no pain. I’m on a fixed income and do independent rescue. I am able to usually cover spay and neuters but not big expensive things like this. I just got an estimate for nearly 1k work on my car so there is just no way I can swing this right now.
Larkin
Larkin is a 12-year-old Parson Russell Terrier in Portsmouth, NH, who needs $2,000 for Cardiac Assessment/Ultrasound and Dental Extractions.

Larkin came to me in 2015 from a kind couple in Connecticut who breed Parson Russell Terriers. They felt Larkin would thrive in a one-dog household; apparently she was stirring up trouble with her siblings. I brought her to NH and we've never looked back. She lives with me in a small house, constantly welcoming and befriending visitors: we have neighbors often drop by and I'm an Airbnb host. Larkin IS my home, no matter where we are. Since adoption, there's been a connection that goes beyond companionship. Not just a pet, she's the center of my life, the source of endless joy and comfort. She' shared every emotion and experience with me for the last 9 years. I've never taken a moment of it for granted, often wondering how such a serendipitous meeting created the ULTIMATE pairing. Larkin has personality that draws people to her no matter where we are, loving little humans the most. I know she'd eat brussels sprouts 24/7 if I let her. A new habit is holding shoes ransom (usually for a baby carrot); this has been very effective, training ME to keep all footwear elevated. Larkin thinks chasing squirrels is a waste of time, preferring to lay stomach-down on hot pavement. Over the past year I've noticed Larkin's breath getting progressively worse. She eats her brussel sprouts on one side of her mouth and no longer tolerates chew-sticks. I'm tormented by the thought of her suffering in any way. We started at a new vet, Lovewell Veterinary; it was made clear to me that her back teeth are now abscesses and have potentially led to a weakening of her heart, a murmur. Managing my own expenses is a significant financial challenge. The cost of insulin, medical supplies and recurring doctor visits already strain my resources, making it difficult to save for unexpected expenses like veterinary bills.
Salty
Salty is a 3-month-old Husky in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Parvo-virus.

Salty is a 12 week Husky pup who is in the fight for her life; a fight, sadly, her sibling did not win. Salty is at the ER where her parvo test showed a strong positive. Parvo-virus is a highly contagious and deadly disease that affects dogs, especially puppies. It can spread through contact with infected feces or contaminated environments. The virus attacks the dog's gastrointestinal system, causing severe vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and in some cases, death. The veterinary team is going to check for internal parasites and anemia, start fluids, antibiotics, and supplements … and pray. She will stay in isolation in critical care until she pulls through. X-rays showed his pelvis was fractured, and his femur was dislocated. Leo needs diagnostic tests and possible surgery.
