Buddy

My angel Buddy came into my life 11 sweet years ago when I delivered him and his 2 sisters Maya and Bambi through their mother Mia, who we also owned but was given to my niece, as she loves caring for senior dogs. Needless to say we have maintained a tight-knit family for Buddy who sees his mother And other siblings regularly and lives with his younger brother Oso, who was delivered 4 years later. Buddy knows all about Family and 2 has taught me a many lessons in the importance of family myself. I was 12 years old when I delivered buddy and in the 1st minutes into his birth he taught me love and the fight I had with them to remain determined in saving his. Buddy was Delivered without breathing and I very luckily and very recently had been educated on risks and procedures for assisting delivery in very small dogs. Suffice it to say I proceeded to stick an index finger in buddy's throat to remove any foreign or bodily fluid to open up his airway and like magic, He took his very 1st breath in my arms Buddy has not slept a single night outside of my arms or I should say beside my face. I often wake up to his snuggles along my there is no doubt in my mind our mutual love for each other surpasses many. While we recently experienced a traumatic house fire, but he spent a lot of his time chasing bunnies and squirrels in our spacious backyaread, something I miss very much today. He loved sunbathing on our porch and while buddy isn't particularly vocal he has a very unique way of communicating with me that I can only describe as a low nasal hum. He especially does this when I am hugging his face or when he wants to cuddle. Like many small dogs buddy enjoys playing with squeaky toys and a form up tag and will not hesitate to outrun you to show off his running skills. However everybody is terrified Of rain and thunder. I nurse this fear through doggy muffs and heavy sweaters and/or blankets to give him the sensation and security of feeling safe and cared for. He will often bury himself under my blankets and I like to join him to allow him to feel a part of rather than apart from during these times This is the part where I must maintain strength for buddy and take action where he cannot. Buddy was showing small but incremental signs of glaucoma however he recently had a rough tumble down a flight of cement stairs and impacted his right eye on one of the edges of the steps Inadvertently causing what can only be considered as severe glaucoma and tremendous swelling. He will need emergency enucleation. I am creating this campaign in equal parts desperation and hope that any help I receive will get him closer to returning to his usual happy quality of life And continue to shine his beautiful and call me light on all of our lives. The year 2023 has been a vicious start for my family and I from the loss of my grandfather to our home burning and moving into a hotel since December 13th period we all seem to be hanging on by a thread and this happening to the one animal I've spent the best half of my life with Is yet another hardship under my belt. I ask for strength and determination that buddy and I are given hope and healing light. I plead with you to donate anything, anything you can at all. I know too well how hard finances are for people in today's world and I'm truly relying on the open hearts of many to help Buddy and I your donation will bring more happiness and joy than I can ever possibly detail here. I would do anything for him.
Fern
Fern is a 4-year-old Domestic Short Hair Cat in Ewing, NJ, who needs $1,990 for Inner Ear Mass Removal with Otoscopy and Biopsy.

Fern is a 4-year-old tabby kitty who was brought to ACCT Philly pregnant and was later transferred to EASEL Animal Rescue. EASEL vowed to find this sweet girl a good home. Fern spent 2 months with a foster family and another 2 months at the shelter before finding a forever home with her new mom, Rebecca and Rebecca's 3 children. The family kept her name because it suits her quite well! Fern settled in well at home and chooses a different location in the house each week as her favorite. She has been a wonderful addition to the family. She comes running whenever her humans come home. Rebecca's son and daughter adore Fern too, giving her lots of cuddles. Fern especially loves to stretch out on her cozy bed while receiving some heavenly scratches on her white belly. Fern likes to be where the action is and settles down for a nap wherever the people are. She likes to sit by the window to the backyard in the morning — "watching tv" since she’s got an eye on all the squirrels out there. She has the funniest meow — it sounds more like chirping! Fern loves to chase and bat around crumpled pieces of paper and toy mice. She’d make quite a soccer player! Sadly, Fern has had an ongoing head tilt issue with persistent ear infections, as well as congestion and eye discharge. She was referred to Blue Pearl for consultation and they recommended surgery to remove a suspected polyp deep in her right ear. A CT scan will be done first to visualize her middle and inner ear. Fern's ear infections torment her. Steroids made her sleepy, unlike her usual playful self. Giving her ear drops was hard. Anticipating the medicine, she became nervous to be approached. Surgery promises to restore her quality of life, but is beyond the family's means.
Diamond
Diamond is a 9-year-old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $444 for Surgery for Tumor Removal and Dental Extractions.

Subsisting for years outdoors in a dilapidated chicken coop, a rope around her neck, Diamond suffered needlessly. How she survived without access to food and water is a mystery. Neighbors called AC repeatedly to report the ghastly situation, but when officers arrived, the owner came outside with his rifle. Occasionally, one of those neighbors threw a jar of peanut butter over the property line. After a week had passed with no sight of Diamond’s owner outside, neighbors again called AC and the authorities found him dead inside his house. Diamond was finally free! Safe now at the Sanctuary, she luxuriates in the comfort of her first bed in 13 years and enjoys peaceful sleep. Diamond is quiet and sweet and so well-behaved that it's hard to imagine what her past was like. She may be deaf, but 13-year-old Diamond hears best with her heart. Not only is Diamond deaf, her vision is severely impaired, and she has a grade 4 heart murmur, but no significant heart enlargement at this time. She also has tumors on her vulva, belly and back. She can be a bit of a drama queen when it's time for ear cleanings and nail clippings, but some tasty treats will settle her down. Diamond came to us urinating blood. After a course of antibiotics, the bloody urine stopped and thankfully, the tests for bladder cancer, so common in old beagles, have come back negative. The next step is to surgically remove the tumors and perform a complete dental to remove her rotting teeth. We might not be able to undo Diamond’s horrific past, but we intend to make her future shiny and bright. As a registered nonprofit rescue, we rely on donations to pay for vet bills. We have raised funds for her lab tests but need to raise funds for her surgery.
Happy
Happy is a 13-year-old Beagle in Asheville, NC, who needs $400 for Surgery for Cyst.

After our other beagle, KC passed away in 2010, we were heart broken and began to look for another beagle to adopt. We found Happy at Brother Wolf animal rescue around Christmas. We adopted him in January 2011. He has a torn ear lobe and chain scars on his legs from the cruelty he suffered from his original owner in Madison County. He lives alone with us in our apartment and loves us very much. Happy has been brother to two Shih Tzus over time. Majik was a black female who had belonged to Patricia's sister who passed away. Buttons was a white male we rescued from the curb outside our apartment building about three years ago. Happy is very friendly and has become a fixture in the apartment community, baying at everyone so they will pet him. Strangers call out to him by name on our walks. Happy has learned to smile but is still very timid around large dogs. Once he and Majik pulled down the blinds and tried to escape, but the cord caught on Happy's leg and he panicked, causing us to laugh as we imagined Majik calling, "Run Happy, Run!" Happy won't play with toys, but has fun pretending to growl with me as we tussle. Happy needs surgery to remove a cyst that has grown too large to ignore. It ruptured this week and he has been very uncomfortable. We put a bandage on it and keep him on heavy sedation with benadryl, aspirin, vallerian root, and gabapentin. He is scheduled to have the surgery today and the Vet has agreed to let us pay part of the cost later. We also are behind on his vaccinations. After the pandemic hit, Patricia lost her job and we have been living on our fixed income Social Security and a few odd jobs working from home. Happy is like our child and we wish for him to live out his natural life with us.
Zera
Zera is a 4-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $935 for emergency surgery.

Zera must have realized she needed immediate help and found her way to a family's doorstep. When the family opened their door, they were in shock! Zera's legs were covered in bloody pus. Turns out it was all coming from her mouth. She was struggling to survive. The family rushed her to the emergency animal hospital. That's when someone contacted One By One Animal Advocates, who came to her rescue next! "Her mouth was in such bad shape," Heather A., with the group, tells Waggle. "There was a high chance of the infection entering her bloodstream." The veterinarian found Zera had hideously rotten teeth and a large mass under her tongue. They started her on antibiotics immediately. Zera will need surgery to remove her infected teeth and the tumor -- which will be sent to a lab to test for cancer. "Without this treatment, she does not have a chance of surviving," Heather says. The group needs your help raising the money for Zera's operation. Her condition breaks their hearts as she is loving, sweet, and playful. Zera loves being around people and would love to have a family one day. "Zera is why our rescue exists," Heather says. "A nameless, stray cat wandering the streets unable to eat, in pain, and at risk of death, entirely dependent on the kindness of humans to help her. Can we count on you to be her hero?"
Loaf
Loaf is a 2-month-old Dalmation in New Haven, CT, who needs $2,000 for Femur Reconstruction.

We found Loaf living in a poor situation where he was in a dirty shed with six of his brothers and sisters. We knew he was the one when the breeder told us he was deaf and his probable outcome would be euthanization. His deafness only made him that much more unique. With his cute little spotted face and his little disability we knew we were his forever home. Loaf loves his new home, he lives in a college apartment closely interacting with everyone in the house! He loves the attention! Loaf is very playful and also very clumsy. He runs around constantly, and when he's done he'll lay right on top of your head to take a much needed nap. He has opened up so much since we got him and you can see how happy he has become in such a short time. Loaf has so many reasons why he is special, for one, he is fully deaf in both ears. That doesn't stop him from making everyone laugh! He slips on hardwood floors when he has the zoomies, he plays with himself in the mirror because he thinks it's another dog, he loves to chase tennis balls but he hasn't mastered bringing it back yet. He is the most special dog, and he is so loved by so many people. On Christmas morning Loaf took a little fall, but a significant one. He broke his femur right in half and had other complication with that including a fissure near the growth plate. We brought him to an emergency veterinary hospital and they were nothing but wonderful. Everyone there was super kind and accommodating, especially with Loafs uncomfortability. I am confident in their abilities. We are college students with single parents that are not too fortunate. We both play sports so a full time job isn't possible. The $8500 procedure left us in a ditch and we have no where to go to save our puppy. We would do anything for Loaf to be back fully healthy again.
Millie
Millie is a 1-year-old Dachshund in Fairfield, CA, who needs $1,800 for emergency sugery.

Even the best and most responsible dog parents know what it's like: your pup finds something on the floor and gobbles it up. Sometimes they're so swift you don't even know they got it. That's what happened to Taina H. Recently her beloved Dachshund, Millie, started vomiting. Tania rushed her to the animal hospital, where X-rays revealed a corn husk created a life-threatening blockage in her intestines. "Her intestines were so inflamed that they could rupture," Tania tells Waggle. "I made the decision to have her undergo surgery at that moment with no hesitation." Millie's total medical bill was $20,000 -- a tab that many could not afford! Tania is a full-time student without a job. She is now frantically trying to raise money to pay Millie's expenses. Millie means so much to Tania, who says she is a complete joy and brings laughter and kisses to everyone! "Any help would mean so much to Millie and me," Tania says. "I have to sell my car."
Shae Amorette
Shae Amorette is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix in Derby, KS, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.

Shae Amorette came to the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Witchita (VESHW) in need of a holiday miracle! Animal control discovered Shae covered in wounds. Officers brought her to VESHW, where Shae had seven puppies! If the family had been left out in the cold, they would have likely all died. The veterinary team went to work fixing Shae's gaping injuries and giving her puppies round-the-clock care. No one came forward to claim or rescue the family. The medical care Shae needed was above the amount the city could afford. Now the hospital is hoping for two more holiday miracles: To raise enough money to cover the family's medical bill and for a rescue to offer them a fantastic new start in 2023. "Shae has been doing wonderful with being a new mom," Tori P., with the animal hospital, tells Waggle. "She has never shown any signs of aggression towards staff. It is now time for her to have her happy story and find a great home that will provide her with what she deserves and needs for life!"
Elsa Monet
Elsa Monet is an 8-year-old Boston Terrier in Thibodaux, LA, who needs $1,000 for chemotherapy.

Candi H. is begging for your help this holiday season. Her emotional service dog, Elsa, needs chemotherapy. But the treatment is something Candi can't afford. She is a retired medic who is now disabled. "I worked more than 30 years saving lives and can no longer work due to injury," Candi tells Waggle. "I saved lives but can't save my girl." Elsa just had a cancerous mast cell tumor removed, and with chemo, her outlook is positive. She needs treatment to zap any remaining cancer in her body. Candi lives alone, and Elsa is all she has. "She brings joy to my life each day," Candi says. "She listens to my words and feeds from my emotions. She is my everything. Elsa needs help to get well. Please help!"
