Alo was a rescue, but actually I debate that because I think he rescued me, Alo was dumped off in a hot car with the windows rolled up and I saw him so I rescued him out of that car, in return I needed to have surgery on my neck and boy did Alo help me with recovery, he was by my side and made me keep going as he needed food, walks and to go outside to go to the bathroom, I am doing a little better but I am not able to work, Alo has had a lump on his neck but we decided not to remove it as it was only getting bigger in his elder years, now his lump has gotten bigger and has spread I don’t know but I think it’s cancer, he is in pain and in return for his companionship for me during my needs I feel guilty as I can not afford care for him at his time in need He as been my companion and my buddy and he has helped me tremendously and I want to pay it back to him as he is in pain now and I understand pain and don’t want him to deal with this pain I have had neck and back surgeries over the last couple of years and I am on social security disability so I understand Alos pain and want to help him like he helped me

We adopted Onyx at Pet Smart 9 years ago. He is a pot cake breed, he came from the Bahamas. He has brought such love and life to our family! He makes coming home from work everyday a blessing! He is always so happy to see us. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and furr babies. he got really sick on Saturday and has not eaten and been throwing up everyday, we took him to vet on Wednesday and got what we could afford to try to make him feel better. Today we took him to Access vet care, they took x-rays and found out he has a foreign object in his intestines', He needs surgery to have this removed by tomorrow 1/10 or he will not survive. Onyx loves to be with his mom and dad. He has a new baby sister Shih-Tzu who adores him more then anything. she loves to play with him and would be lost without him as well as us! our lives will not be the same without our baby boy. we are facing an unexpected emergency expense to save our baby boy. He has a lot of life left in him and any donation would help save his life. Prayers are welcome.

Trixie is my baby girl. She has been part of my life for 13 1/2 years. I got her for my mom and nieces so we all could enjoy and have and give a good life to her. My mom past away about 3 1/2 years ago which left us all lost. She is my life. My everything. She has so much life left in her it kills me knowing that i cant do more for het. Due to me wanting to keep her intact I never got her spayed. Due to that she now has had a complication when going into heat. She has gotten an infection which is deadly without surgery along with a mass that had grown. She is being treated by the wonderful people at access vet in new hope, mn. She is a daddy’s girl and never wants to leave my side. She loves giving kisses and getting belly rubs. Her favorite snack is toast with peanut butter. I had lost my job a couple months ago. I have been getting government assistance and trying to make ends meet. I give back whenever I can and never thought I would have to ask for help but here I am. I’m babysitting my mothers 3month old puppy she had to be hospitalized she’s in critical condition I’ve had the puppy for 4 days now and it became really ill out of no where hes normally very playful such a loving spirit I became very attached to him.and now he wont move hardly at all he seems weak and confused he has a hard time standing and focusing. Bobbing his head all the time I’m so sad!! I took him to urgent care in Oakdale I only had a little money but not enough for more test and X-rays I got we’re sorry but we can’t help you if you don’t have the money I called every vet I could and no one could help I finally got approved for 500 hundred to bring him to access veterinary in crystal mn but that’s not enough he really needs medical attention. He loves playing with stuffed animals he has a great personality he loves playing with everyone he hardly ever barks except when you play with him than he thinks he Mr tough paws he’s so adorable and now he doesn’t even move hardly I know he’s not mine but you can’t help but love him because he’s so loving I had my own sudden expenses come up recently on my vehicles. Normally I have emergency funds saved but I spent it on fixing my own stuff. My mother is on a fixed income so I know she doesn’t have the money and I don’t know when or if she’s getting out of the hospital.

4 and 1/2 years ago Loyalty came into my life. She is a rescue. He was in a home where she was not being cared for properly and being abused. She means the world to me,we rescued each other. I promised her when I got her she would never be hurt again. Yesterday she was hit by a car and she is hurt and I am so hurt. I have done everything in my power to protect and take good care of her. Loyalty was hit by a car yesterday. I went to my front door and she saw my friend parked across the street. When I opened the door she ran she slid past me and she went running across the street towards my friend. A car what's going at a fast pace and hit her. She needs x-rays and meds. You're right leg is beat up pretty bad. Also has more bruising. Need to make sure there isn't internal damage. Loyalty is the sweetest dog you can ever meet. She loves everyone. She is very special. She loves children. She caters to elderly and handicapped people as well. She is just a ball of love. I have just lost my job and have been having difficulty finding something else. Applied for unemployment but is still in a process of waiting for acceptance. I'm really struggling right now and find it hard to make and meet. Now I'm faced with this battle.

Baxter was a singleton farm pup who joined our family at just a few months old and instantly bonded with 10-year-old Tally. Through her childhood, teenage years, and now into her twenties, Baxter has been by her side. With a sassy, stubborn spirit and plenty of spunk left, Baxter’s not ready to slow down, he’s still got a lot of life to live and love to give. Baxter was recently diagnosed with a luxating patella in his right hind leg. He’s gone through nearly three weeks on pain meds however the issue is not resolving on his own and the next step is either surgery or euthanasia. Baxter has spent his life as the leader of the pack (at least he tries to be). He is smart. As much as he hates his medication he takes it anyway as he knows a treat is coming right after. This summer, after a grooming visit, he gained a rescue kitten sister, Goose. At first reluctant, he’s now accepted her as his boss, they practically share the same personality. Tally would do anything to have more time with Baxter. But as a college student who is wedding planning and house hunting, $3,000 is a significant amount. Before Cheeze came into my life, he had a tough life as a stray with his mama and 5 sibilings. I rescued him from a foster family when he was 4 months old. He was very timid and malnourished. I was able to encourage him to become the brave boy he is today. He currently lives with me and his older sister, Mac. Cheeze is on a medicated diet for his stress, which is definitely helpful for him. He is currently struggling with gingivitis amongst other dental related issues. Cheeze has come a long way since we first came into eachothers lives. He is the sweetest boy who cannot deny a lap to lay on. He is kind and gentle. I cannot express enough how much it means to me to have the support I need to treat my kitty with the best medical care he deserves. I welcomed her into my life and nursed her back to health. It has been such a joy being able to watch her grow up into the beautiful, sassy girl she is. She currently lives here in Minnesota with me and her brother, Cheeze. Mac needs dental treatment to help her continue to live a long, happy life. I want Mac to continue to live the best life she can as she is still so young. Mac is a sweet, kind-hearted girl. She loves her people and is a great cuddler. Mac is great at communicating boundaries and loves attention. She will even let me hold her like a baby, as she is my first. Cassandra is a rescue from (ironically) SecondHand Hounds. She came into my life in 2022 and quickly proved herself to be an excellent emotional support animal and a great roommate! We live in a studio apartment together and she is my whole world. I am a "recovering" teacher who had to change careers very suddenly, and used up any sort of financial cushion I had during the pandemic. She has been very healthy since I've had her, but she needs dental work and appears to be very sick this past two weeks. We are waiting for further test results, but she has been acting very out of the ordinary and showing signs that are very concerning for a cat. Hopefully, we'll get into Access Urgent Care. Cassandra is a natural companion. She provides pressure and comfort during my PTSD episodes or panic attacks without training, and snuggles when I'm sobbing. She chats with me all day and sleeps with me at night. She LOVES people and will welcome any new person in the apartment. She hates outside and has no plans of returning to the streets any time soon <3 I am a "recovering" teacher who had to change careers suddenly after barely making it through the COVID-19 pandemic with funds to spare. Due to this career change, I am not making what I would have been if I could have continued teaching, and I haven't recovered from COVID.

I have 2 Maine Coons; brothers Shady and Shadow. They are fixed and just turned 7 years old. I've had them since they were 8 weeks old. They came from the state of Maine and I paid $3000 to have them delivered to me in Minnesota. They both had pretty bad respiratory and coughing problems when they were 2 years old. I brought them to the vet for bloodwork, tests, exam, etc and they were diagnosed with feline asthma and prescribed prednisone which worked wonders. Until recently when Shady started having coughing episodes again. My mother and I adopted them at 8 weeks old. They have lived with only us their entire 7 years. My mother unfortunately passed away when they were 4 years old and I moved to another state which was an adjustment for them. They have had to grieve the loss of my mother and moving a few times, for example. But they adjusted perfectly through all transitions. I am disabled and only receive $350 a month while I wait for SSDI to start. I fortunately live with my fiance who helps me and the boys tremendously.

A week ago I was driving back from a road trip with my friend. We pulled into a motel for the night in Texas. We found a dog limping around the parking lot, very dehydrated with ears full of ticks & bite marks all over his body. He was less interested in the bread we gave him than in climbing in the car so as not to be left behind again. He's shaped like a potato so we call him Papa or Tater Tot. X-rays show that Papa has significant arthritis in his right hip joint and his femoral head bone is diseased. Due to the level of muscle wasting on this limb we think this injury occurred awhile ago, most likely he was hit by a car. He will undergo a Femoral Head Osteotomy at Access Vet Care in the next month. He has been in severe pain for so long & it will get worse if the bone is not removed. He is an absolute lover dog. Despite what he's gone through he's very gentle with everyone, pets & people alike. He loves to hop around, sit & watch people pass by. I haven't had him very long, but he's everything I've looked for in a companion. My family really adores him & have come up with 20 different nicknames already. The vet says he's about 3-4 years old & could have many years ahead. Papa's surgery will cost close to $3,900 which is a big expense I didn't expect right now. I have been approved for a grant from MN Humane Society to cover 1/4 of the cost & need to make up the rest myself. I am a bartender & freelance artist receiving medical assistance.

Dutchess was obtained by a breeder at 10 weeks old. She has lived in the same home with myself and my husband and her two sisters (another min pin and English Bulldog). she is a loving and energetic dog who is my whole world. In the middle of the night last night Dutchess and her sister Diamond, got into a scuffle. It appears she received trauma to her left eye. I noticed Dutchess's eye was bleeding. I attempted to wipe at it and got some out. This morning it is swollen shut and has tears with a little blood and is in need of Urgent care services that I cannot afford at this moment. She is the love of the house. She loves to give kisses, cuddle, play, and spend time outside. She is the most special girl in her affectionate way. She is the protector as well. I just had my car break down last weekend and so any extra money I had saved has gone to car repairs. I could not have seen this incident coming and am told she needs to see care immediately. And I'm so terrified of her being in pain.

We got Mister from a pet rescue event from Blaine Minnesota back in August 2024. We adopted him and his sister. His original name was Franklin but after a few days we named him Mister because he was just the silliest kitty getting into places he shouldn’t be in and doing goofy things. We renamed his sister Sweets because she always just wants to be around you and have cuddles and pets. Mister became ill in the beginning of February. We brought him to an urgent vet who gave him anti-nausea medication. Mister continued to get worse. We brought him to another urgent vet who gave him dewormer. He seemed to be getting better. But one morning he became very lethargic not eating or drinking. we brought him to access veterinary care who were able to work with us on getting him help. Mister is a very playful curious kitty. He loves to play with his sister, and human family. He always wants to be with us. Mister likes to play fetch like a dog, chase his toys and look out our big sliding glass door. He has to be the first one to investigate if he hears an unfamiliar sound. Mister also loves to cuddle if your sitting/laying down. His favorite toy is the cat spring toys. My hours have been cut at work, I’ve been doing little odd jobs here and there to get extra income to help with our finances but it doesn’t seems to be enough. I am also currently pregnant. To have mister back to himself would be amazing.

Pepper was a rescued from the St.Paul neighborhood along with her three other siblings. She was the smallest of the bunch, small but mighty! Our family took her in and we immediately fell in love. She quickly opened up at home and her small and mighty character landed her the name of Pepper. She’s small, feisty, mischievous, smart and the perfect little sister to Osito. Pepper swallowed a hair tie and was able to regurgitate part of the hair tie, she continued to show signs of lethargy, no interest in playing or eating. We decided to take pepper to the ER in fear that she may still have something stuck in her body. We arrived at Animal Emergency and Referral center in St.Paul where they were able take an Xray and they determined that Pepper had an obstruction. Pepper has brought so much joy to our lives in the past 10 months. From rescuing her, fostering her and eventually adopting her. When Pepper is not busy bossing her brother around, you can find her solving puzzles, sun bathing, tackling college courses with her mom, and at night watching Law & Order SVU with the spare humans of the home. Tokyo came into our family in 2021, when she was introduced to my son as a rescue and they were instantly attached to each other. They had a better rate, but still not something that I can afford. I have health issues that I constantly have to deal with, and pay for. When I met him i was called a pitbull racist by the lady @AHS, terrified of the breed. 2 min later she told me she NEVER seen a dog bond to someone like he did me. If you meet him, youll see wwhat im talking about. About a year ago I noticed a small bump on his rear paw the size of a snow pea. Today it's larger than a golf ball. All his life he's been pretty healthy. Recently had pneumonia but we caught that quick, he pulled through it like a boss! Prior to that he had lymes disease. Short of that hes always been healthy. Then this showed up and nobody can explain it makes him lethargic and in pain My world has been a roller coaster. Up, down, up, down. The one thing that's been consistent is Bishop. Lately I've been asking myself if I gave him the best life I could? Because he gave me the best life period. Hes also my ESA. He deserves this help and to be happy again.

Suki was found along with two siblings the day after they were born. The mother cat was nowhere to be found so Suki and her siblings were taken to an amimal rescue organization in Madison. I adopted her during the first wave of Covid, so we were able to spend alot of time together. Suki is very special to me, and I find her to be a wonderful companion. I hope Suki will get more comfortable with the vet when she gets older! Suki loves to explore my apartment and always finds interesting places to hide. She likes to chase toys and pretend she is in the wild. Every morning Suki will stretch out on the floor in front of me looking for a belly rub. She doesn't like laps, but I will take any moment that she comes a bit closer to me. Suki is being seen at Access Veterinary Care in Minneapolis. She has been vomiting and not eating. I think she may have eaten something poisoness to cats. She is still being assessed but the bill has already reached $450. I hope that this is all of the care that she will need. The next step may be an x-ray. I am a recent graduate of the University of Madison and am currently working in a lab. I have several expenses (rent, etc.) which quickly use up my paycheck. On a cold fall evening 14 years ago, my cousin came over to my house and said, I got you something." She pulled her jacket open and there he was! My new best friend! My kids have grown up with this guy. I was/am involved in animal rescue in the 4 corners, New Mexico/Colorado/Utah/Arizona. This grumpy grandpa Marty has helped raise and rear hundreds of foster pups including his 2 house dog mates. Marty is the most loyal and bravest old man. He would fight a grizzly bear to defend his pack. Even though he is the smallest in the house, everybody knows he's the BOSS! Marty absolutely LOVES coffee and treats! And even more he LOVES his family. Marty does many tricks like dancing, shake his paw and not so much in his older years but he can roll over too. We moved back to our home state of Minnesota to take care of my elderly grandma leaving behind my job as animal control officer in rural New Mexico right before the Covid pandemic. Being that my grandmother is vulnerable and needs help I haven't been able to work. Marty has level 4 (the worst) dental problems and needs to get his teeth cleaned and some pulled. He had 9 teeth pulled in 2017. I know his teeth hurt and I have brought him to the vet. His infected teeth make his ears hurt as well and makes him shake in pain. I sometimes give him doggy pain meds. He was given antibiotics which helped but 3 weeks later his breath stinks and I can tell that he hurts. Marty is always giving hugs by pushing his forehead into me. Since the day he came into our home he likes to snuggle under blankets and always sleeps at the crook of my knees. He is very smart and shows me he wants treats by runnung back and forth between me and the treats. Marty loves to play with his toys. Tug of war mostly. He's the best little dog and we love him so much. ❤

We got Specks up north from a farm after we adopted our 5th and 6th children (our niece and nephew). Our previous puppy passed in the ER due to a sickness after eating a poisoned mouse! It was an awful and sad time for all of us, especially our kids. We also have a large breed Canario that has had Lymes disease since she was a puppy and now severe arthritis and blind. The kids named him Specks. You will never see a dog love children and vice versa more than this boy and our children. He would do anything for them. He takes turns sleeping with all of them. He is soooo loved! He follows them wherever they go. He loves his big dog sister and cat brother. Our 3 year old adopted daughter hugs him all day. I lost my job due to Covid and just now back to part time but not good credit to take out loan or apply for payment plan. I emptied all my accounts. I literally have $7 to my name. It started about a month ago. He started acting strange, and was holding his tail down. If you touch him by the base of his tail, his butt cheeks or his back legs he gets upset and was lethargic and panting. He just lays on kids laps or couch not wanting to do anything. His tail is between his legs, limping and whimpering He filled a void due to the death of our puppy and our sick older large breed dog. He is our kids life. His tongue hangs out due to his crooked jaw and he follows them everywhere. He takes turns sleeping with each kid and always makes the rounds to all of us to get love and give love.
