Jon Snow's Last Hope: Help End His Daily Pain from Severe Feline Stomatitis

Phoenix, AZ • AZ CLAWS Animal Rescue

Meet Jon Snow. True to his name, he is a warrior. Jon Snow suffers from severe feline stomatitis, a devastating immune disease where his body essentially becomes allergic to the tissue in his mouth, causing constant, debilitating inflammation. For three years, we at AZ Claws Animal Rescue have tried everything humanly possible to give this sweet boy relief: Full Mouth Extraction: He underwent surgery to remove all of his teeth, which is usually the cure, but his severe disease persisted. Heavy Medications: He has been on daily immunosuppressive medications for years just to get through the day. Advanced Medicine: He even underwent cutting-edge stem cell treatment, hoping it would reset his immune system. Tragically, none of it has worked. Because his body is fighting itself and relying on heavy daily immunosuppressants, this disease is slowly shortening his life. Our Final Hope: Radiation Therapy Despite everything he has been through, Jon Snow is the sweetest, most loving cat. He isn't ready to give up, and neither are we. He has a long, beautiful life ahead of him if we can just clear this final hurdle. We are down to our very last option: Radiation treatment. This targeted therapy is designed to finally eradicate the stubborn, deep-seated inflammation in his mouth and give him a life completely free of pain. Because this is a highly specialized veterinary procedure, the costs are incredibly high. We cannot do this alone. How You Can Help If you find it in your heart to donate, every single dollar will go directly toward Jon Snow's radiation treatment and specialized medical care. If you aren't able to donate, sharing his story with others means the world to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us fight for Jon Snow.

Onyx

Onyx is a 10 year old American Shorthair in Las Vegas, , who needs $13,000 for SRT Radiation.

Las Vegas

I found Onyx 10 years ago on Facebook, from a family selling him for $25, and we’ve together ever since. I had just graduated high school and was wanting a pet of my own. I named him after the Onyx gemstone, he was pure black like the gem. I have another cat, Hades, who they act just like brothers do. There’s also 2 dogs owned by my mom, and my brother has his own cat. They get along okay (lol). Onyx was diagnosed with a cancerous mass in his chest back in March ‘25. At the time, things weren’t looking good and so he was sent home on Palliative care. 6 months go by, and he’s still doing good so now I’m seeking out SRT radiation treatment from Arizona Veterinary Oncology in Gilbert, AZ to shrink/destroy (hopefully) the mass. I feel in my heart that more can be done for him than palliative. He loves to sit in the sun and watch the outside. He absolutely loves to cuddle everybody. When I’m not home, he’s busy going to different peoples rooms in my house to visit and hang out. Him and Hades act just like brothers do (they love each other but still fight). My family loves him too, especially because he is so sweet. All he wants to do is give love and receive love. His initial emergency visit and diagnosis ate up any emergency funding I had, on top of the medications and bloodwork I have to continuously get for him. I work at a retirement home and don’t make a lot of money, and his total treatment was quoted at $13,000.

Scout Aldridge

Scout Aldridge is a 4-year-old German Shepard in Phoenix, AZ, who needs $4,000 for Vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorucibin.

Phoenix, AZ

Scout was up for adoption at the Maricopa County Animal Shelter. He was 40lbs at the time and when he came into the room he completely released his bladder onto the floor, showing me he was not walked enough. He came to me and licked me, he was so excited to see people. I took him home 3 days later. I fed him and loved him up to 77lbs!!❤️ Scout LOVES people. He licks them, comforts them. Barks at us when he wants something. We taught him to speak and now he yells at us, it's very funny. He loves to cuddle me on the bed and always has to be near me. He's my buddy. We've always been so connected, I feel as if he is my familiar. He always knows when I'm sad or upset and is right there to love on mama. My boyfriend and I are both mentally ill. I also have chronic pain. I receive disability payments, but due to unfortunate events I have been overdrafted for two months and at risk of losing my home. My boyfriend is struggling with his mental illness so badly he can't work. Scout was snoring very loudly for about a week. I then took him to the vet where he was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was told not to see an oncologist because it is expensive, but I wanted him to survive and thrive. So I took him to Arizona Veterinary Oncology where he currently receives treatment. His vet's name is Dr. Lynda Beaver. Scout loves me sooooo much. And I love him just as much. I've never felt so much love from a dog. Now I know why people love dogs so much! Scout loves to talk back to me, and he will refuse to go on a walk until I go! It's so cute. I have depression and sometimes I can't even get out of bed, but he forces me to be active. I'm very grateful.

Phoenix

Phoenix is a 11-year-old Mixed lab shepherd in Scottsdale , AZ, who needs $2,300 for Pallative Radiation.

Scottsdale, AZ

Phoenix came into my life in 2009, as a rescue. He was abandoned in an industrial area and we’ve been together ever since. He had a sister, Mesa, as seen in the video. We lost her to congestive heart failure in December of 2019. Neither of us has recovered from this loss. Mesa and Phoenix are like my children. I named them after cities in Arizona before we moved from Ohio to Arizona. Phoenix sleeps in the bed and enjoys resting his head on our pillow. He is my family. We reside alone with my cat Buddy, that I inherited when my father passed away. Phoenix loves cooked chicken and hamburger, which he’s getting more of lately. He still enjoys his walks everyday and squeaking his tennis balls. My income is barely enough to pay rent and bills. I’ve also not recovered financially from treating my other dog, Mesa for her congestive heart failure. I’m not able to get a loan to pay for treatment. I’m hoping to help Phoenix continue to have a good quality of life. Phoenix was diagnosed with oral osteosarcoma in November 2020. It took some time to get him into the oncologist due to appointment wait time. They offer a palliative radiation treatment that they say will assist with symptoms and pain. He was seen by Dr. Boshoven at Arizona Veterinary Oncology in Gilbert, AZ. His primary vet is DR Hessian, in Fountain Hills. Phoenix misses his sister Mesa, although they were so different. He has a love hate relationship with Buddy the cat, simply because he doesn’t want to share my attention. He is a social dog but protective of his mom. He loves to swim. He’s been my best friend for eleven years. He loves his stuffed toys and tennis balls.

Photo of Harley

Harley

Harley is a 9-year-old Bulloxer (Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier) in Queen Creek, AZ, who needs $2,000 for exploratory surgery and dermatology cryotherapy.

Queen Creek, AZ

We volunteered at a local rescue for the past 4 years and met him through that. He lived at the rescue "sanctuary" since 2013. He was taken in by us in May 2020 as medical fosters and currently resides in our home and is only outside to go potty several times a day. He gets holistic homemade food that we make for breakfast + dinner, and is well taken care of & spoiled. We adopted him in Sept 2020. He is a very loving sweet boy who loves to cuddle and appreciates us taking care of him. We have two other dogs in the household that he interacts with through a gate as we have not been able to do proper introductions with his medical issues and we would rather err on the side of caution. Someone is always with him in the other area of the house and he is a joy to be around. My better half, Jason got laid off in November 2019. When we were dealing with the rescue we were not financially tapped but there have been many recent procedures that keep popping up.. He needs ongoing care and drs appts & we need help financially. Harley has Hemangiosarcoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma. It is limited to his skin at this point and has not gone internal. He had to have a rather invasive surgery in May, a penile amputation, which was followed by 19 sessions of radiation in the area on his tummy. His oncologist is Dr. Eric Boshoven / Dr. Linda Beaver at the Arizona Veternary Oncology office in Gilbert, AZ. He is silly, the more we giggle & laugh at his antics, the more he gets into it. He appreciates & senses that we are taking care of him. Every time we wipe him down from going potty, he gives us face kisses. He sounds like a teradactyl when he barks so that makes us laugh too. He is all around the best dog and we love and adore him to pieces, along with everyone that he meets.

Bella is an 8-year-old golden retriever in gold canyon, AZ, who needs $2,000 for radiation .

gold canyon, AZ

I have a beautiful 8 year old golden retriever which I've had since she was about 2 months. She saved me. I didn't save her! Unfortunately she was just diagnosed with a brain tumor which cannot be taken out by surgery due to the location that it is in. She's my best friend, and she is all I have!! She loves loves to swim and play with other dogs. Very calm dog and is so well behaved. Loves going for walks, climbing mountains with me. As long as she's with me she's happy! She's excellent with children also. Loves them too death. Has been such a great dog since day one. Very lovable also! She wasn't showing any signs of a brain tumor until it had gotten too large. Brought her to the vet and was told it was only an ear infection. Until the MRI was done it showed she has a brain tumor. My one and only girl unfortunately yesterday had gotten diagnosed with a brain tumor. Worst news any dog mom could possibly hear. They cannot do surgery due to the location the tumor is in, it's sitting right on her brain stem/nerves system. I know this is a horrible time to ask for donations due to what's going on in the world. But this dog is my world! And anything at this point will help. She's attached to me. Since day ONE. The very first night I had gotten her, I didn't want to go out with my friends i wanted to stay with her. I decided to go out for about an hour. Once I came home she was waiting for me at the stairs. It's almost like she knew I was her mommy already! She's my one and only girl.
