Peanut

Peanut is a 10 month old Mix-Breed in Portland, OR, who needs $1,300 for Amputation of Left Hind Leg.

Portland, OR

A friend had purchased him for his girlfriend and they ended up homeless and no place to keep the puppy and he brought him by and I fell I love with him right away so I gave him what he paid for him and he was 6 or 7 weeks old then and he's 10 months old now. He is my baby and I would be totally lost if something happened to him. He sleeps in my bed under the blankets and his head on my pillow He was left with a so called friend I thought I could trust him and I was out of town and I ended cutting my trip short when I got the phone call telling me that peanut had been injured and I was told he got caught in the door but after seeing the X-rays it's obvious that the person that hurt him,he has to have his leg amputated asap due to infection setting in. He is my emotional support I lost my rt leg in 2019 and he has given me a reason to get up in the mornings and he has a companion that's 10 yrs old it's my little bit he's my chiweenie they play nonstop daily or they did til this happened I'm on a very fixed on me of ssdi and it's been taking its toll on my pocket book and my savings and it's not enough to cover even 1/3 of the total cost let alone the after surgery care

Pixie

Pixie is a 9 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Happy Valley, OR, who needs $2,422 for Leg Amputation.

Happy Valley, OR

We rescued Pixie from a breader that was going to put Pixie down since she was born with a heart murmur. Our goal was never to have a show dog and couldn't bare to think about putting a dog down just because of that, so at 8 weeks, we welcomed her into our home. She has always been the loving little mom of the house. About a year ago, we noticed a small mass was growing on Pixie's front right leg. She would bite at it and make it bleed every where but the mass would go down a little bit. Over the past year, the mass has gotten a lot larger and an infection was noted to where it is now showing sores on the front of her leg and in her armpit. We took her into the Community Veterinary Hospital locally here. Even though Pixie might be in pain, she is still in good spirits. Most days she barely puts that much weight on her right paw, but still moves around. Still the leader of the pact. Loves playing with the grandkids and the others dogs and cats. My job situation changed last year to where my position was eliminated I was switched to a different role and am commission only to where I am allowed unemployment. That only covers the bills so much. She was our first pet and it would not be the same without her.

Luna is a 11 month old Scottish Fold in Portland , OR, who needs $1,755 for Cystotomy Procedure.

Portland, OR

We got Luna when she was about 2 months old, a tiny bundle of energy with the sweetest eyes. From the very first day, she fit right into our family like she had always meant to be here. Our daughter shares the most beautiful bond with her. They are growing side by side-playing and cuddling. She shines brightly in our lives, just like the moon her name represents. I’m reaching out because our sweet Luna has been diagnosed with kidney stones and urgently needs surgery. This has been completely unexpected and has put us in a very difficult financial position. With no steady income right now, we are struggling to cover the cost of her treatment. Our daughter shares the most beautiful bond with her. Luna is not just a sort to hers she’s her best friend. Luna is such a big part of our family-she grew up with our kids and means the world to us I’m currently not working as I’m home caring for our baby and my husband is also out of work at the moment. With no steady income, we are struggling to pay for her services.

We rescued her when she was a couple weeks old. She was not in a healthy environment and we thought she was absolutely adorable. She has been a wonderful member of our family and is loved by all four of us. She's a very social dog and loves all people and animals. Unfortunately we have hit a very rough patch in life as I'm having medical issues and my son is as well. Any help is appreciated Penny has been diagnosed with pyometra. She has been going to the oregon humane society. They have sent us an estimate of what everything will cost and we just can't afford it right now Penny is usually the most energetic pup in the world. She brings a smile to everyone's face that meets her. She loves to give snuggles and kisses as much as possible. She especially lives sleeping with our children. I lost my job due to unforeseen medical issues. My son is going thru a similar situation. My husband had a decrease in work hours. We just want Penny happy and healthy again.

Myla

Myla is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Corbett, OR, who needs $25,000 for Dental Surgery.

Corbett, OR

Myla is only three years old, but she has been my constant companion for nearly her entire life. I found her in a Fred Meyer parking lot when she was so small she fit in the palm of my hand. She was alone, far too young, and needed help to survive without her mother. From the very beginning, I promised her I would do everything I could to keep her safe—and she has returned that love tenfold. Myla has always been the perfect cat to me. Despite her tiny size, she tries to protect me from anything she thinks might be scary. She follows me, watches over me, and shows her love in the quiet, loyal ways only a cat can. Our bond is deep, and she is truly my baby. Over the past six months, I’ve watched her slowly lose her spark. She began drooling constantly, keeping her tongue out, and eventually stopped eating and grooming herself. I knew something was wrong. I brought her to OHS Community Veterinary Hospital, where they discovered that Myla had two severely infected teeth in the back of her mouth. One of those teeth had already fallen out, causing even more infection and pain. Myla has now been placed on the emergency dental surgery list. The surgery will remove the remaining infected tooth and address the infection that has been causing her so much suffering. This procedure is necessary for her to heal, eat normally, and live without constant oral pain. She finally has a chance to feel like herself again. The difficulty is the cost. The required deposit for the surgery is $1,000, with additional expenses afterward. At my young age, this sudden emergency has been overwhelming. I want nothing more than for Myla to thrive, to be pain-free, and to live the long, happy life she deserves—but I am deeply worried about falling into financial trouble while trying to save her. Myla is being treated at OHS Community Veterinary Hospital, who have been incredibly compassionate and supportive during this process. I’m asking for help because Myla cannot speak for herself—but she deserves relief, comfort, and a future without pain. Every bit of support helps bring her closer to healing. Thank you for taking the time to read Myla’s story and for helping me keep my promise to the tiny kitten I rescued that day in a parking lot.

Daisy is a 11 year old Snowshoe in Hillsboro, OR, who needs $1,200 for Tumor on Tail Resulting in Tail Amputation.

Hillsboro, OR

Daisy has been a part of my families life since she was a rescued barn cat 11 years ago. She has always been the sweetest cat and so incredibly loving. We started to call her mama kitty because whenever one of us is sad she is quick to comfort us and gives us purrs and nose licks. She is such an important part of our family and we love her so much! We are taking Daisy to the Oregon Humane Society to have her tail removed because she has a tumor at the base of her tail that continues to grow and has recently opened up. The fees at the Humane Society are thankfully lower than any place we have gotten estimates from but with the deposit payed it will still be more than I have right now. Any help would be so amazing! Daisy has a brother and a sister and she likes to play with her brother at times rolling around and chasing him. Her sister is a grumpy old lady so she mostly leaves her alone! She has been a huge support to me personally, helping me through my anxiety and stress. She loves to lick Gabe and Zach on the nose when she cuddles with them. I’m currently on leave from work and am waiting on funds from Oregon Leave. I’m trying my best to care for Daisy while also trying to get healthy myself. It would mean the world to me not to have to stress about the care she needs financially.

I saved rocko a few months ago When i got him he was very very scared of people, he was soo skinny and stunk so awfully and was just a major mess in every meaning of the words.... When i first got him we had a place... than all of a sudden Unexpectedly we lost our place for reasons out of my control...and now we are living in between my kids Dads house my best friends place... Rocko was being baby sat by my dad while I was at work... not even an hour later My dad calls me saying that rocko is acting strange. And all of a sudden he starts panicking that he is now unconscious on the ground and won't wake up. I pick him up and take him to the animal hospital in Gladstone a day was turned away because we couldn't afford over 800 bucks for treatment. So we went to the OHS Rocko has gone far since he had been home with us. He is a happy little guy now with so much craziness in him. He loves to constantly play tug of war with anything and everything. Rope, tennis balls even pine cones. My friend was with me when I took him in and gave the hospital his last 100 bucks from his wallet... the hospital is telling me they want me to surrender him since I can't afford the diagnoses work or the work to get him stable... I need rocko as much as he needs me....

Portland, OR

Castiel is my fiancé and I relationship kitty. We got him from someone giving away free kittens almost 7 years ago in the very beginning of our relationship and absolutely fell in love with not only each other but him too. He's our first kitty together and our baby, I couldn't picture my life without him in it. We took him to Blue Pearl last month for an emergency because he was lethargic and had a high fever, with antibiotics he seemed like his happy and healthy self again but a couple days ago he started to act sick again. We took him into the Oregon Humane Society Hospital and did X-Rays and Tests and found that he has a fluid in his abdomen that could be infectious or cancerous. Castiel is definitely quite the character! He loves anything that crinkles especially his Swedish Fish toy that has catnip. He loves to lay on his back and stretch out on the floor (we call it Ottering), He sits with us on the couch and watches T.V. and loves playing with the laser toy as well. He's such a sweetheart and deserves all of the loves and attention in the world. We are on a very tight income, my fiancé is on SSI and I have a full time job that barely makes enough to pay the bills. We are paying off the Emergency vet which was close to $800 and are also having car trouble on top of everything going on with our kitty. We need help...

Mufassa

Mufassa is a 2 year old Labrador Retriever in Canby, OR, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment of Injuries.

Canby, OR

Mufassa was a tiny pup, who already had a BIG name! We had previously lost our beloved dog, Nala, to cancer, and were looking for another beautiful soul to add to our family. My son immediately bonded with the little dude, and finding out his name was Mufassa just seemed like an added sign that he was meant to be with us. And, man, did he grow into his name- a dog's body, with a lion's soul! We were in the mountains, one of our favorite places to hike. The dogs were running in and out of site, alternately exploring, climbing, and checking on us. Suddenly, Mufassa limped into site, and laid at my feet. He'd either fallen, or encountered another animal, but one of his shoulder blades was sticking up at an odd angle, he had cuts on his paws, and screed if I tried to touch him anywhere. Mufassa absolutely loves to run, jump, and be chased by other dogs. He is extremely athletic, adventurous, and his favorite game is keepaway. With his front leg currently either broken or out of socket, he is unable to do any of those things, and mobing at all causes extreme pain. My biggest hope is to get him the treatment he needs to continue to be mobile, happy, and enjoy a full life. As a homeschooling single parent fam, we mostly love the challenge of living creatively, finding non-monetary ways to live and contribute to our society. However, muffasa's entire quality of life will be impacted if we don't find a way to pay for this unforseen need.

Kelso, WA

LILO was kept in a crate having litters of pups. Interested in a puppy, we were given LILO instead. Three years ago, she quickly adapted in life with her new sister, protective older brother and her mom, me of coarse. On the 4th of July, while the country was celebrating, I spent the day with LILO at the ER. The night before, Lilo began showing serious signs of a uterine infection. Surgery was too expensive so we chose to bring her home on antibiotics and seek help at Oregon Community Veterinary Hospital. She was diagnosed with Pyometra and required an urgent procedure. LILO is laid back, loves to cuddle and always ready for a nap..With my kids, she gets full of spunk and wears her feisty face to play with them. Unlike anything I’ve heard in my life, LILO squeals in sentences when she gets excited. She hears the car pull up and loses her mind. Twirling and squealing until we get in the door! Over the last decade, I have had 7 hernia surgeries including repairs, removal and a mass of mesh removed. UW’s surgical team, gave me back my life with a solid plate of mesh to prevent reoccurring hernias. Healed and ready to work, I’m still job seeking!

Dobby needs $800 for Front Leg Amputation.

Portland, OR

We got Dobby February 19th, 2023, from a Craigslist ad. I meet him and immediately fell in love with the giant ears and big blue eyes. We currently live in Portland Oregon in a big house with plenty of room for the cats to roam and play. Dobby, unfortunately, took a rough fall from the top of the cabinets, roughly 10 feet, and broke his front left leg. The bone in broken in a way that is not repairable and he will have to have the leg amputated. We are having this procedure done at Community Veterinary Hospital with their amazing staff. Dobby loves play hunting his sister, Azula, and being an adventurous climber of the cat tree. He love snuggles and spend many house following his mom and dad around screaming for attention. His favorite thing to do when he wants attention is to wait for our hands to be full and come up behind us and bite our ankles. We need all the help we can get to cover the medical expenses of the amputation surgery as we currently do not have enough money to pay for the surgery. Your donations would help relive the pain of paying off expensive medical bills for years to come.

Lucy is a 7 month old American Shorthair in Portland, , who needs $400 for X-rays, Cast, Medication.

Portland

Lucy came into our life, after we saved her from horrible conditions she was living in. A very small motorhome that was overrun with multiple litters of kittens from the mom, whom was a stray cat that would come and go and she pleased through the window. There were so many kittens it was heart breaking. Once she ran right up to us, refusing to leave her side, I knew it was meant to be. Lucy has what we believe is a fractured Tarsus or hind leg. She was doing her crazy climbing thing when she lost traction and came flying over the top of a bookcase. She immediately could not bear weight on her leg and was howling. She was seen at Dove lewis, but they did not have X-ray facilities for her. We need to get her X-rays, a cast I assume, and medication. She is miserable right now 😔 Lucy has the biggest personality I've ever seen, and anyone who meets her has seen. She is so funny, loving, incredibly smart and clever. She is the hugest snuggle-bug and always wants to me snuggled right up to her mom and dad (us). Most of the time I can't even get up because she's sprawled across my legs for hours upon hours 🥰 she is the best thing to happen to us. I'm currently going to cosmetology school and am low income, we already had to pay an emergency bill and for a prescription for medication to last her a day or two. Our hearts break every time I see her try to get up and walk and hear her howl in pain 🥺

I began fostering Athena in CA. during Covid, I wound up adopting her because I didn’t feel comfortable giving her back to the person who I fostered thru who did not inform me that she had Asthma and wasn’t treating it. She was found on the streets of L.A. abandoned. Athena was a mess when I began fostering her and immediate opened up with me. We are bonded and in love♥️ Athena has had ongoing issues with her mouth as long as I’ve had her. She needs immediate c-rays and treatment to support her being able to eat comfortably without nagging pain during and after eating. We are currently at Banfield Pet Hospital in Milwaukie, Oregon. Athena is an extremely shy and sensitive cat, clearly traumatized by being abandoned and abused by the person that took her off the street-she was put in a tiny apartment with multiple other dogs and cats, had thyroid surgery and gave a blood transfusion to dave’s kittens life at the same time. She’s had most of her teeth removed. She is talkative, loving, caring and incredibly loyal/beautiful. I am currently unemployed and receiving the bare minimum in benefits.I am also dealing with some health issues myself due to living with 2 immune diagnosis. Athena is all I’ve got, it’s been extremely painful to watch her in so much discomfort all the time.

Portland, OR

Over the summer of 2014, I lost my dog Pedro due to complications from diabetes. He was more than a dog. He was my best friend, riding the train with me every day to work. I had another dog, Bella, a beautiful blonde chihuahua. She became very depressed after Pedro died. I then decided to search for another dog. In October I decided I would look on Petfinder to find a connection with one of the dogs I almost fell to the floor when I saw Vinnie's profile. At first I was afraid to contact My Way Home Dog Rescue. I was afraid to love again, but I did. Vinnie has been with me for ten years. He had come all the way from Kentucky. He had been surrendered by a family consisting of a mom and son. The son had severely abused Vinnie so the mom gave him up. He lived in a foster home for almost two years My Bella died in 2021 from Cushings Disease. All Vinnie and I had was each other. In my old age, I became disabled and as Vinnie was getting older, he too was finding life becoming harder. He has very bad arthritis and recently we found out that he has an enlarged heart. On top of that, his teeth are really bad. Some have fallen out. His dental is taking a toll on his overall health. Vinnie who is 13 went to Oregon Humane Society Community Veterinary Hospital for a checkup and to see if he could withstand surgery to remove a growth by his eye. This is when they discovered his heart problems. He had the growth removed and now they have given him an appointment for Dental Surgery. As a senior citizen on only Social Security, I need help to get Vinnie the help he needs to live. I don't have a job anymore. I have severe nerve damage, I have seizures, and can barely get around, even with a cane. Vinnie keeps me living and stays beside me night and day in case I get sick. My only income is Social Security, a small $35 pension and food stamps.

23 and I have been packmates for a little over a year, and 2/3 of that being when I lived off grid in the high desert of california. I named her 23 after one of my favorite artist/musicians, and I love thinking that she lives the legacy of this inspirational person for me. funny enough, before I named her, the seller was calling her Michael Jordan. so it all felt so fitting and special. 23 really enjoys watching birds, always needs to drink whatever water im drinking, and loves catching water droplets. the smelliest fish flavored treats are her favorites. she enjoys camping and hunting. one time she caught a fresh shrew and ate it all in front of me. I thought she'd stop at the head but she just kept going and looked like a bad ass. well first off 23 is a black smoke. I like to call her my sequin pillow as a joke because she reminds me of those sequin pillows where when one strokes one way its one color and stroking the other way is another color. her fur is like that! ive also never felt any cat as soft as her. 23 is a polydactyl and has longer front fangs that hang out a bit and make her look like a werewolf bat. for a month now, 23 has been loosing weight and it was hard to pin point why. it looks like she has dental issues with her back teeth and may need them extracted and a cleaning. im not sure if that is all that is going on with her. shes extremely underweight, has foul breath, loose stools with some mucus and blood, etc. I hope to hear more from the veterinarian at oregon humane society. i suffer from mental illnesses & disability. I havent been able to hold a job & havent had alot of experience in society. Chezabelle was given to me as a gift 9.5 yrs ago when she left her pet mom. She has been my 100% sole support on getting away from an abusive physical mentally a situation and as well as she's the reason I got sober. We live in a wonderful one bedroom apartment with just her and I where she has her own recliner on the patio and in the house. She loves to be a bad hog as well. Chezabelle thinks she is my boss. She is such a little wanna be human. She always greets her family with wanting a tummy rub. She loves to set up an act like she's fully part of every conversation our family has. She gets excited when her human brother and sister come over and when her grandparents come over she doesn't leave her pappy's side it's adorable. Chezabelle is a fast learner and a lover of all things. She has a hummingbird friend that she visits with almost every day. She love to do tricks and go running every morning at her park. She has great facial expressions as well as different body positions that she uses to communicate with me for things he wants she is a huge lover of baths. Chez has had major chronic UTIs just about every other month for the last at least 2 years. This is caused from her needing Vulvoplasty surgery. She is constantly on antibiotics. And bleeding pee. Straining to pee and be in chronic pain. I have zero income I'm waiting disability. I will do anything to help her. she's literally my soulmate I need her. She is my reason for being strong and surviving my past. Chezabelle has taught me so much and she deserves to feel amazing

Doobie

Doobie is a 9-year-old Frenchie/Springer Spaniel Mix in Portland , OR, who needs $1,665 for Mass Removal.

Portland, OR

My best friend do we came into my life in 2014 as a dog for my son who was 15. I of course ended up with him and I am known as his granny. He has been with me through both of my grown children moving on to their own lives leaving me as an empty Nestor with my best friend by my side. He is my sunshine my happiness my laughter and everything good to me. Doobie loves attention he loves his granny as I'm known. He adores attention and cherishes every human interaction that he is blessed to receive. He is spoiled rotten sleeps under the covers right next to me at night. He is truly a dog that needs his human by his side and I need him by my side always as well. I am on disability and fortunately I'm able to spend all day with him everyday. Doobie is a silly boy who hates getting wet. After we come in from our walks I dry him off and he runs like crazy and dies on the floor sideways rolling around growling and groaning to dry off. He throws his toys in the air and runs after them like a puppy. He makes me smile with each and every crazy silly move he makes he truly is my sunshine His diagnosis is a mast cell tumor that is progressing rapidly. He has been referred to an oncologist veterinarian. The tumor is large and may not be possible to remove without removing the entire leg. As of today it has not spread to other areas but for the testing from The Specialist is needed immediately. I am on disability with a very limited income. He is my emotional support animal as I live alone and he is my best friend. I can't imagine my life without him I would be alone and unable to move forward without him by my side due to my lack of funding.
