Rori

Rori is a 13 year old Welsh Terrier in Annandale , VA, who needs $1,500 for Minor Internal bleeding/ Inflammation.

Annandale, VA

Rori has been in my live since she was a small puppy, and is the sweetest dog imaginable. She loves her family, playing ball, and loves having freedom to roam in her backyard. Rori is a terrier who loves to explore, she found a small crevice in the fence, to which she was running around and unfortunately got clipped by a car. She visually looks okay, but she broke her fibula in her back right leg, and is suffering from minor internal bleeding. She is healing very well at Pender Vet, and is walking around and active already. She is a key member of our family, she is beloved by everyone she encounters including the staff at Pender, because she has the sweetest personality. She loves playing ball or chase with other dogs, and loves to get pats from family. I am a 22 year old full time college student at VT Arlington, and I don’t have the funds locked away to help save her life and give her the care she needs. It would break my heart to have to surrender her to the County, but right now I don’t have a lot of options.

Allie is a 2 year old American Shorthair in Ashburn, VA, who needs $2,000 for Lily Poisoning.

Ashburn, VA

Allie (also known as allibell) is our 2 year old sunflower! We adopted Allie at 4 months old and since then it’s always daily smiles and snuggles! She’s truly a light in our home and my son’s best friend. My son and Allie are always together and yes even nighttime cuddle buddies! She brings him comfort and we love her so much. Allie got into some Lillie’s and is currently being treated at Pender veterinary Centre in Fairfax! They have her on a 48 hour hold with IV fluids and checking her levels to make sure her kidneys don’t fail.. this event is beyond devastating and i pray that everything goes well for her. Allie is very special to us, especially to my son.. before allie came into our lives we lost a cat to cancer.. Allie is a splitting imagine of her! Even the same personality. We truly believe Allie was sent to us from her! Allie is the sweetest little thing, from her snuggles and morning kisses and we can’t forget her night time talks! Unfortunately we need some help with her vet bill.. I will be truly grateful for any help I can get! This would mean the world to me to be able to pay for her care during this time and bring her home…

Sash

Sash is a 7 year old Siberian Husky in Fairfax, VA, who needs $250 for Hip/Legs Evaluation and Medication.

Fairfax, VA

Hello- we are seeking financial assistance for our first furbaby Sasha. She is a Siberian Husky we rescued from the local animal shelter. We adopted her when she was 1 year old and by then someone had already bred her for her puppies and then dropped her off at the local animal shelter. She was severely underweight and had major social anxiety. Due to our family’s financial difficulties we are asking for assistance with Sasha’s medical needs. In addition to her regular vaccines, she is having some hips or back legs problems. It’s either broken somehow or muscle damage or weakness. The evaluation cost is super expensive but will mostly likely need X-ray’s and medication. She is in pain daily. Please help me help her. We love her. Despite her rough start, she thrives with playing and running around with her zoomies, people watching, and interacting well with other dogs. She’s extremely laid back mostly, but of course LOVES to run around. With her anxiety, she loves to be where you are and just enjoys the company. Probably while napping. Having your financial support to help take care of our furbaby family member would mean the world to us. We worry, and worry, and try to save up to her her treated, but some medical expenses comes up and we are forced to decide paying for our human children and our furbaby..

Obsidian (Obi)

Obsidian (Obi) is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Fairfa

Fairfax, VA

Obi was gifted to me after the passing of our family cat. I was 16 and had just started working and so all my paychecks were spent on spoiling him. He has a younger sister named tulip and since then it’s been the three of us against the world. I had to move out once I turned 18 and they’ve been my priority. There’s been a lot of challenges but we’ve faced together. He is my soul cat / baby. Obi was admitted 5/5/2025,he went in for an emergency blockage. My cat that had passed prior was due to the same issue but was caught late and so he unfortunately passed. I had so much PTSD since and I’m happy Obi was able to receive medical treatment at Pender Veterinary Clinic, where they’re now observing him so he can finally come home. It’s been a long week for both tulip and I we miss our boy Obi has always been a little quirky. When Obi was gifted to me, i assumed he was mute because anytime he tried to meow just a little gust air would come out no sound lol. Now he does the cutest silenced meows i’ve ever heard. He’s always full of energy he’s 6 but still acts like a kitten. He loves sunbathing and playing with his sister Tulip around the house whose a tortoiseshell cat. I’m 21 and I only support myself, this was an unexpected medical emergency which has left me terrified. I live on my own and recently had to replace my old car since it broke down, so financially i’m in a tight spot. I can’t lose my boy, i’ll do anything to have him home.

Cocoa

Cocoa is a 5 year old American Shorthair in Woodbridge, VA, who needs $2,000 for Enterotomy, Post-Op Gastrotomy.

Woodbridge, VA

Cocoa is my first cat and the reason I became a cat person. I rescued her five years ago when she was a tiny kitten found outside with an upper respiratory infection. My sister named her Cocoa because of the warm brown color of her toe beans. We live in a cozy home shared with friends, including two other cats. Cocoa’s gentle presence brings so much warmth and calm. She’s a huge part of our family Cocoa was diagnosed with a linear foreign body obstruction, a life-threatening condition that required emergency surgery. Thanks to the team at Pender Veterinary Centre, she received care in time. While the surgery was necessary, it was completely unexpected, and the cost has left me stretched far beyond what I can manage. She’s always been anxious and cautious, but she’s come a long way, slowly warming up to the two other cats we live with and finding joy in watching birds out the window, playing with her favorite colorful foam eggs and snuggling up for quiet cuddles. Having her healthy and home means everything to me. She’s my little baby, my support system, and my source of comfort. I’ve recently accepted a new job and am currently saving up to purchase a car so I can reliably commute and build some financial stability. Watching her go through surgery and recovery has been emotional, but also a reminder of how deeply I love her.

Lucky

Lucky is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Herndon, VA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care with Ultrasound Follow Up.

Herndon, VA

Lucky is a sweet pupp who I rescued at a gas station. He is my best friend, and I will never abandon him. But, now, Lucky is ill, and I feel helpless. Because, on Feb 9, 2025, I fell off a ladder and broke my back. I was hospitalized for 4+ weeks, and had 4 spinal fusions. So, now, Lucky needs me, but I can’t even walk yet. Lucky has always had positive test results when I took him to his Vet. But, recently, Lucky was exposed to eColi, and was very ill. He was treated at an ER Vet Clinic, and overcame his illness. But, the eColi partly damaged his kidney, resulting in a blockage in his digestive tract. Now, Lucky is at an ER vet clinic where I just learned his illness is treatable. Lucky has been at my side since the day I held him. He doesn’t even need a leash when I go outside to work around my house. He has a relationship with all of my neighbors, and he follows me everywhere. And, even my friends say Lucky thinks I’m his real mother. Lucky is a bit overprotective of me, his mother, but he’s the sweetest dog to everyone he meets. I am a self employed vet tech who cares for all types of dogs. But, due to my back injury, and for the first time in my life, I had to cancel all of my February and March booking requests. The only booking requests I have not canceled are my requests in late April.

Pickles

Pickles is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Fairfax, VA, who needs $2,000 for Teeth Extractions.

Fairfax, VA

We adopted him from a foster mom in North Carolina. His foster mom let us know that he was found behind a barn in a puddle, struggling for his life. He was malnourished, dirty, and cold. He was found with the rest of his litter; however, he was the only survivor. He joined a different litter at the foster home with similar ages. He was recently taken to the vet as his gums were swollen and bleeding. We were told that he has a disease called stomatitis and therefore will need surgery to remove most of his teeth that have been impacted by this disease. The vet explained that this disease most likely impacts his personality (making him more timid), voice strength, and ability to eat. Pickles is a charming tuxedo man who loves to spend his free time chasing his siblings, receiving belly rubs, and eating yummy churus! He is a very affectionate cat who loves to admire everything around him, including his mom doing any chores around the house. This unexpected medical situation involving Pickles has caused us concern in providing the necessary finances to complete the recommended procedures by the vet, which include dental extractions.

Bandit is a 10 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Fairfax, VA, who needs $2,000 for Lymphedema.

Fairfax, VA

I found Bandit when he was 6 months old at a shelter. He was previously abused and had a cast on his leg. He was damaged, like me. From that day I knew I found my best friend. Since then we’ve been inseparable. Fast forward he is now almost 11 years old and he’s been with me through every rough patch I’ve experienced. Now with Link, a 2 year old dog that is like a brother to Bandit, we are family. Bandit recently had trouble walking and getting around. He could barely stand at all and you could visibly see how much strength was required of him to just get up. His entire right hind leg is also now very swollen and he’s trying to not put pressure on it at all. The past 3 years he’s been in and out of the vet for multiple illnesses such as kidney failure and the inability to control his bowels Bandit is special not because he’s the ideal dog, but because he’s the ideal friend. He is always there. When I’m sad he brings me his toys. He waits to eat his food until I eat mine so we can eat together. Seeing his face light up when I walk through the door with a toy in his mouth shows me that he is worth it all. This dog saved me in so many ways. No animal or human could ever compare. All my money goes straight to bills. No time for extra curriculars. I was hospitalized myself for a time being and after my own personal hospital bills I’m just catching up. But I’d rather have zero dollars to my name than to live a life without my best pal.

Charlie

Charlie is a 4 year old Great Dane in Fairfax, VA, who needs $2,000 for IV Antibiotics and Oxygen.

Fairfax, VA

My family and I rescued Charlie after he was discarded by a breeder because he's not the "right color" for a Great Dane. We've had him for four years, and he has been a true gift. He's physically huge, of course, but so is his personality and the amount of love in his heart. He's literally what keeps me, my husband, our two kids and our two other rescue dogs happy and sane. Charlie is only four years old, and he has acute pneumonia. He has been at Pender Veterinary Hospital in Nothern Virginia for the last five days. We have been told that he is likely to make a FULL RECOVERY if we can provide him with 24 hour a day care for the next 5-7 days, which includes IV antibiotics and continuous oxygen at a cost of $2,000 a day. From the day we adopted Charlie, he has been glued to someone in our house. I can't even remember the last time I went to the bathroom without him! And now I refuse to leave him. He's already been at the vet hospital for five days, and I haven't left his side. We've run through our emergency fund of $14,000, and we have nowhere else to turn. We're not rich people - I work in the government, and my husband provides mental health counseling to kids for Farifax County government. Please help - I don't think we could live with ourselves if Charlie died just because we couldn't afford five more days of care.

Beau is a 1 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Fairfax , VA, who needs $2,000 for Exploratory Surgery.

Fairfax, VA

We took in Beau when he was 5 months old after his previous owners needed to rehome him. He is now a little over a year old and is the big brother to a 3 month old hound puppy. He is a playful, kind, and energetic little boy and loves everyone he meets. Beau continues to strive to be a bundle of happiness even through his recent medical issues. Beau's medical issues started when he woke up with a lump forming on his neck. We took him to a veterinary ER and they determined that the cause was an infection on his lymph nodes. After over a week on antibiotics, his swelling and lump has not improved and the vets aren't sure what to do next for him. Surgery or seeing a specialist to find the exact cause seem to be our only options at the moment Beau loves everything and everyone he sees. He is well-behaved and has been working very hard over the last several months on his training to act like a proper little boy in public. He loves the dog park and has many friends he sees there regularly. He is a patient and loving older brother and cares for us as if we are HIS babies and not the other way around. We love him so very very much ❤️ We've had many unexpected vet bills due to the unknown cause of his illness during the last few weeks. Getting him healthy again is all we're focused on and any help is appreciated so we don't have to say goodbye to our precious baby boy.

Mia is a 4 year old American Longhair in Dale City, VA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Services.

Dale City, VA

Mia was adopted from PetSmart by one of the employees and I began to foster her soon after. She had come out of a bad situation, not allowing anyone to get near her, she was very shy and would hide all the time, only coming out at night when everyone was asleep. She has come such a long way in the 2 years that she has been my baby, even allowing me to hold her for short periods of time. She was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis and is being treated at Pender Veterinary Center in Fairfax, VA. She was brought in Saturday evening after I found her barely responsive on my floor after returning to work. She is still being treated and is not expected to come home for a few day, with her being in the vet for 7 days total, hopefully. Mia's favorite thing in the work is her person, my boyfriend, Cam. They have bonded in a way that I have yet to understand. She is a completely different cat around him, and he loves her with all his heart, maybe a little more than he loves me. Her eyes brighten up when he goes to visit her at the vet with me, and we are ready for her to be home with us again. Mia's bill was originally expected to be $5,500 on the low end, but has well exceeded that amount, and is now expected to be closer to $17,600. I have been able to contribute $10,500, emptying out my savings, but am struggling to come up with the remaining $7,100.

Eva, a once-stray kitten, found solace with our family. She now calls our cozy home, her home, delighting in sunny spots by the window. But when illness struck, we struggle to cover vet bills. Together, we're hoping for Eva's recovery, seeking a little help along the way. Eva is a healthy kitty in general, she like to sit on the balcony to sun bathe. Sometimes, she like to wander to our neighbors balconies (to prevent this we fenced the balcony but she does it anyway) and a couple of days ago, she jumped to the last house's balcony on our block. While we were trying to retrieve her, she slipped and fell. We immediately rushed her to Pender Veterinary Centre ER. Eva is special for her gentle nature and unwavering affection. She greets each family member with soft purrs and head nudges, comforting us in times of need. Her playful antics bring joy to every corner of our home, reminding us of the beauty of unconditional love. Our family is facing a pressing financial need due to unexpected job loss and the sudden vet bills for Eva's treatment. Having her healthy again would mean the world to us. It's not just about her physical well-being; it's about restoring joy and peace to our home.

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend was in Baltimore and he noticed a small dog tied to a light post. The dog was trembling dog, its eyes wide with fear and confusion. The leash was tightly wrapped around the post, leaving the poor dog with little room to move. He unleashed the dog, took it home, we brought it to the vet the next day and we ended up keeping the dog. A few days later we noticed she was walking funny, brought her to the vet, we did not do x-rays but was given medications. Today we brought her back to the vet and she has a fractured femur, we don’t know how this happened and she is in need of surgery. One option the vet gave us was to amputate her leg. Which we do not want to do. I already have two dog and did not want another, but I fell in love with Faith. She gets along so well with our other dogs. She is quite and keeps to herself most of the time but absolutely lovely. With two other dogs we simply cannot the fee of the proposed costs. While we have some money for the surgery we do need some assistance to help pay for the cost of her surgery.

Yam came to us for a second chance at life only 3 weeks ago!! He was a rescue. He has been a kill shelter in another state due to his breed. He stole our hearts from the moment we met. We are a military & Veteran family. I have severe PTSD and we adopted Yam because his demeanor was perfect for a therapy dog. He is loving, responsive to emotions and loves to snuggle and lick away my anxieties! Yam had a severe and life threatening GDV/bloat. This is a sudden, very scary condition that is often fatal! It happens very fast and has to be treated immediately. He received emergency surgery to correct his contorted stomach. Yam has made it through and is in recovery but is still in the hospital! The staff at Pender Veterinary Center saved his life! I am veteran with severe PTSD and Yam is my therapy dog. He is so sweet…. We say Yam, “the sweetest of all the potatoes”. He loves to give lots of kisses and snuggles. He's a Scorpio and enjoys long walks on the grass, sunbathing and cheese. I can’t imagine my mental health recovery without him. We are on a fixed income due to the fact I can’t work right now because of my PTSD. The overall cost is between totaling at $10k-$13k! Everyday Yam stays in the hospital is more money. Anything helps! Please help us bring our Yam home!

Princess is a 2-year-old Tibetan Mastiff in Chantilly, VA, who needs $2,000 for Ligament Surgery.

Chantilly, VA

Almost three years ago my life turned upside down. Difficult life circumstances and challenges caused me to joke with friends about getting a dog.. my friends would tell me to get a Tibetan Mastiff for my protection. The joke turned into reality when princess was in need of a home, all her siblings found a home and she was still waiting to find a family. The universe made the decision for us. Princess is a goofy, loving, caring, and sometimes stubborn pup. She loves to protect her house and family no matter what it takes. She enjoys playing with other dogs, playing soccer, going on car rides, or snuggling with her family. She prefers her water with ice cubes, and her food needs to be fresh; otherwise, she would rather starve than eat. Princess got her name before she moved to VA. Initially, I was planning on changing her name, but when she arrived, the name Princess started to make total sense. She is sassy and really set in her own ways. She doesn't trust strangers, but once she lets you in, you will have a loyal friend forever. She has many dog friends at the dog park, and she is known for her flips and rolls. Princess tore a ligament in her knee and the only way for her to get better is to get surgery. She was seen at Pender veterinary and got an X-ray, which confirmed the ligament tear. We had many life challenges lately including my own health issues, which already put us in a tight financial position. Her accident was unexpected and is not covered by insurance. The expenses are high and we can’t delay the surgery to save up.

Dante came into our life 9 years ago on kings day back in Mexico, when we needed him the most as we had recently lost our beloved dog. He was the light at the end of the tunnel and he showed us there was still happiness even in the darkest of times. When it was time to move to the US we drove with him and our 4 cats all the way from Mexico for 4 days straight. You don't leave family behind. Dante is a homebody at heart just like us, so we spend a lot of time just chilling at home. Our daughter loves him even when he's not that impressed as He used to be the center of attention before she came home. He used to go everywhere with us and he still gets so excited when he see the car door open for him. He loves attention and he'll gladly go to the vet and not even look behind for us! He just loves people and all the neighbors know him because of that. He is a really nice big brother to our cats, he was actually the one who found them when they were weeks old and their mother just had died. He even used to help clean their little buts! Right after my daughter's second birthday he stopped eating and then vomiting non-stop. We were unfortunately on a trip hours away as he got rushed to emergency care at Pender veterinary in Fairfax, Va. X-rays showed he has an intestinal blockage that need surgery make him better. Since he was vomiting so much he's also dehydrated and with low blood pressure, He's currently on IV fluids. Unfortunately we just got our first home a couple months ago which drained our savings completely. We also just lost our cat a couple months ago just as we were moving so we are simply not able to afford such an expensive bill. We just can't fathom life without him

We adopted Argo from Nerdy Paws in February 2022. He was a birthday gift for my 12 yo who's only wish was to get his own dog. As a family we had adopted a lab/Shepard mix before the pandemic, Jack, who is my guardian and shadow. He loves and plays with the kids but will choose me over them anyday. Argo came to use with a healing leg fracture, but is so loving and cuddly and bonded with my son. Argo is a great nap buddy! Loves splooting anytime. Hunter of everyone's socks! While he does have his own bowl to eat meals from he prefers to make it a game every day. Sometimes he flips it over and eats off the ground, next meal he prefers to eat out of my hand, and some meals he eats off a snuffle mat. We go on 3-4 walks a day, visit a local field where he spends lots of time snorting & sniff Argo is a 50+ lb hound mix, long legs, long body, so gentle. Every time we come home, he trots up to us, gentle crawls up your front, puts his nose on you face, does lots of sniffing and snorting, and if we are lucky a kiss. He loves to think he almost got a bird on our walks! When we visit my parents, if he wants to get attention, he will steal a toy or glove and run outside waiting to be chased On 4/26/23 my dogs decided the trashcan was a suitable source for food. This is a new habit/behavior. They ended up eating grapes, half a chocolate doughnut, chicken bones, and wrappers. I reached out to our family Vet, the emergency Vet, and ASPCA poison control for treatments and they all recommended 48 hours in the ICU for IV fluid, labs &, observation. Today they have a follow up for lab work I am a single mom of 2 kids and 2 dogs. I've had the same job at a local hospital for 15 years and live in an apartment through a low income housing program. We got Zena June of 2022- we already owned an older dog and wanted to add to our fur babies. Zena is a sweet 2 year old Lab mix and loves to be with her human mom and dad! She is the youngest of 2 fur babies and is definitely the Boss. Her health has been maintained through Banfield hspt since we brought her home. Zena has been sleeping in Moms and Dads room since we got her, she occasionally will spend the night w one of her brothers. She's loves outside time and chasing her ball and tossing her tire. Zena is loved by a Mom, Dad, 4 brothers, 1 sister and a grandmother. My children will he heartbroken if we can't help her. Zena favorite person would be our 12 year old son. They lay and watch TV and they fall right to sleep with Zena taking much of the bed. Again she loves outside and definitely likes the water hose when trying to bite the water! Zena loves kisses and will make you hug her at anytime. She loved when Dad comes home and us always ready to chat w him with a firm paw. On July 21st Zena was in the backyard playing as normal she came in and when she came in had a hard substance on her face, paws and body. When we came home Friday July 22nd we found a Gorilla glue bottle in our backyard and immediately took Zena to the emergency department. She was taken to Pender Veterinary Hspt in Fair Oaks Virginia. They released her to us because we didn't have 3000 dollars We are facing major financial hardship. I am due for surgery in about 3 weeks and we really just need help to get her better. We have maintained her wellness through her life and this was definitely an accident that we didn't see coming.

Dozer

Dozer is a three-year-old French Bulldog in Springfield, VA, who needs $900 for cancerous tumor removal.

Springfield, VA

Dozer helped save Christine H., and now she needs your help saving him. "Dozer is such a sweet and very affectionate companion," Christine tells Waggle. "When I got him two years ago, I suffered from severe depression and awful pain. Dozer has had a tremendous effect on that. He cuddles with me all the time. He knows when I'm feeling poorly and makes me laugh or comforts me with kisses." But now it's Christine's turn to help Dozer. He has a cancerous tumor that needs to be removed as soon as possible at the Pender Veterinary Centre. Christine can't afford the surgery, and she's heartbroken. "This is an emergency," she says. "I just lost my part-time job, and my government benefits don't cover my bills. I need help. Dozer needs help. He doesn't deserve to suffer with all the love he gives me. If something negative happens to Dozer, I will never forgive myself." Christine hopes generous pet lovers will give to Dozer's campaign so he can one day be cancer-free and making her smile again. "Dozer is a funny dog," she says. "He's absolutely not a guard dog. When someone new comes to the door, he gets up on his hind legs and wobbles back and forth while jumping, trying to give kisses. He makes this snorting sound that makes you laugh. He's always on my lap. Every time I get up, he steals my spot and makes me laugh."
