Simba

Simba is a 7 year old Boxer in Brookly Park, MN, who needs $6,000 for MRI for Nerve Damage and to See if He Has a Tumor.

Brookly Park, MN

Simba is a rescue dog that was on the verge of being euthanized and Ruff Start came to the rescue and took him on until I found him on the website and fell in love and decided to adopt him. In November of 2024, Simba underwent TPLO surgery to repair a ligament in his hind leg. The procedure involved inserting a plate to help with the repair, but unfortunately, Simba has continued to struggle with his leg ever since. Despite multiple lab tests and even the removal of the plate, the cause of his ongoing difficulty using his leg remains a mystery. Help Save Simba! He is a lifesaver, guarding my diabetic sister and supporting my nieces. Mounting bills require an urgent U of M clinic MRI to check for nerve damage or a tumor. A healthy Simba means our family is safe. Your donations directly fund his scans and labs, getting him back to his beloved hobbies: hiking, visiting waterfalls, and running beside my bike. Thank you for your support! This incredible protector needs us to protect him. The emergency veterinary care, diagnostic testing, and necessary medical treatments are far exceeding what our family can afford alone.

Bea

Bea is a 4 year old American Shorthair in Baltic, SD, who needs $2,000 for Internal Medicine Check Up and Dermatology Consult.

Baltic, SD

We found her in June of last year at the Humane Society, where she had been waiting for a family for over six months. Before that, she was a feral farm cat—living a life that was tough, quiet, and lonely. She went from hiding under furniture to claiming her spot as the world’s most dedicated lap cat. She finally learned what it meant to be safe and loved. Now, she’s fighting for her life. Bea losing her appetite turned into a life-threatening crisis. She was diagnosed with Hepatic Lipidosis (liver failure). Despite our best efforts at local clinics, her condition became critical. Her bilirubin spiked(6.8), her potassium crashed, and she began running a 104°F fever. We rushed her 5 hours to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center where she was placed in critical care She is our 'tiny shadow,' following us from room to room. Whether she’s aggressively diving after toys on the couch or claiming a lap for an afternoon nap, she is always part of the conversation. And if she feels ignored? She doesn't meow—she gives us a signature 'grunt' to let us know she’s the boss. She's confident and so sweet. That's why we call her "Sweet Bea". We’ve taken a significant financial hit. We had a huge investment loss resulting from Iran conflict. We have already spent over $16,000 on medical bills for Bea. To help stay ahead of things, we’re currently downsizing and selling items we don't need and taking out a loan.

Columbia heights, MN

I adopted Alvin just 3 days ago. I only seen his silly personality for one day before he got sick but that was enough to make me love him and want to save him! This is an emergency. Alvin is non responsive and is in the hospital. The vet is still trying to figure out what’s wrong with him. This started with a cold and now he’s unresponsive. He loves to cuddle and zoom around the living room. He will play then come around for a cuddle and then go right back to playing again. He already responds to his name! He such a smart kitty. This is an unexpected expense for my family. I want Alvin to get back to himself as soon as possible and hopefully with some help he can get the care he needs

Meeko

Meeko is a 11 year old Bengal in lakeville, MN, who needs $4,000 for Unilateral or Bilateral Anal Sacculectomy.

lakeville, MN

We adopted Meeko when he was 1 year old. I wish I could say we bonded immediately, but it was a rocky first year with him. Benglas are notoriously loud and very demanding, a fact we were very unaware of. But, after a year of struggling, we all started to bond. Meeko has held onto our hearts ever since. It's 10 years in now, and we couldn't imagine life without him. He loves naps and snuggles. We took Meeko to his usual vet, South Fork Animal Hospital, because he was having a hard time passing stool. He had 3 enemas but it still didn't do the trick. While the vet was performing a later exam, she found a lump in Meekos anal sac. After a biopsy, we were informed that Meeko has cancer. Apocrine gland anal sac adenocarcinoma. Now, he needs a CT scan and surgery. Meeko is a very special boy. He's the life of the party whenever we have people over. Going up to everyone to get his pets from each and every person. He doesn't bite, hiss or scratch. He's a lover through and through. He loves to play with his dad and snuggle with his mom. Even non-cat people adore him. He can win anyone's heart. His nicknames include Bebe, Kitty Cat, Buddy, Angel and Sweet Boy. Meekos bills are beginning to stack up. The surgery itself is a couple of thousand. Not to mention the other appointments and tests he's needed and will still need. Meeko is a part of our family. We want Meeko home with us, happy and healthy.

Widow

Widow is a 9 month old Mix-Breed in Minneapolis, MN, who needs $4,000 for MRI.

Minneapolis, MN

I am a 16 year old foster child. I have been in the system for the past 5 years after both of my parents rights were terminated. Growing up I could never keep my pets. My parents would gift an animal to me then get rid of it. I even had pets at other foster homes they I was forced to leave behind. I rescued widows from a bad situation and am promised I will never have to leave her. One day widow started acting as if she couldn’t balance. She got worse very quickly and was falling when she would try to jump even from short distances. We brought her to urgent care and they ran some tests with no answers. She has been referred to a neurologist. She has an appointment on Oct 1 at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center. She will need an MRI that costs $4,000. Widow is very sweet and social and vocal. She is always seeking attention and she enjoys being petted and is incredibly affectionate. She is there for me on my hardest days. I can’t imagine my life without her. My foster parents are not rich. We have 8 other children in the home. Although they can afford basic animal care, they cannot afford the huge bill of even diagnostic testing and then afford to treat Widow. Foster care is not for profit. I am 16 and work as a youth advocate.

Groot

Groot is a 5 year old Newfoundland in Dresser, WI, who needs $2,000 for Thoracolumbar MRI.

Dresser, WI

September 2020, my mom and I traveled with Zimmerman, Blue (passed), and Hashtag (passed) to adopt Groot. My mom was a marvel fan, and was fond of Groot. The name fit perfectly once it was mentioned. Groot was definitely born with an attitude & his own rules. In 2021 and we adopted his sidekick, Rocket (the smallest golden retriever). Groot also has three sister cats, that were mine originally. University of Minnesota Lewis Small Animal Hospital (St Paul, MN). August 11, 2025 the orthopedic consult showed Groot needs a Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) on his right knee & later his left. A brief neurology exam was done and a followup appointment on Sept 10, 2025 showed Lumbosacral disease & possible compression of both sciatica. He NEEDS an MRI ($4500) for a complete diagnosis. He's always been our talkative, mischievous, & gentle soul. He supervises the cooking & eating, barks at all the people, talks his way into extra treats, & has the best sense of humor. Without ever being asked he instinctively became our emotional support dog, knowing when a hug is exactly what is needed. Although he often mistakes laughter for crying & you get a 100-pound hug either way. Two incomes became one with the passing of my mom. I had refinanced the home for repairs & funeral expenses. Spent the rest on expensive emergency vet visits, surgeries, and diagnostics. Resources are depleted. My income is not enough to cover the costs or secure loans.

West Fargo, ND

Hello everyone my name is Saffron Quader and I own a 3 year old Great Pyrenees mix named Mica. I adopted her when she was a puppy on Craigslist and she is my emotional support animal. She lives with me at college at North Dakota State University. I bring her to my parents' home often to visit as she loves everyone around her. On June 20th, 2025, my family's home unexpectedly caught fire and only Mica was in the home. I sprinted to the scene and shattered our patio glass door with my neighbor's hammer. The fire was occurring in the living room and Mica was hiding underneath the table. I was able to drag her to safety. Mica is currently at the University of Minnesota Lewis Small Animal Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. My dog Mica is a gentle giant that loves everything and everyone around her. She loves meeting new people and animals alike. She is my emotional support animal and has saved my life in many ways as I have autism spectrum disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and mild depressive disorder. She is my calm during my storms. She is the most loving, loyal companion that plays, rests, and never leaves. I currently am a full-time BSN, RN student at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. I work two jobs as a hospital nursing assistant and delivering home care for a lady with M.S. My parent's are both unemployed due to both being disabled. We need all the help.

Marley is a 3 year old Chihuahua in Ham lake, MN, who needs $2,000 for Rhinoscopy/CT Scan.

Ham lake, MN

A friend contacted me about a woman who, recovering from surgery, needed to find a new home for her dog, Marley. After sharing this with others, & giving it much thought, my family decided to meet him. We welcomed him into our home that day, he has not been with us long but is a charished member of our family, bringing joy and love to everyone. He is the heart of our family, which includes 3 kids He initially experienced sneezing and was treated for allergies. His nasal discharge prompted the start of antibiotics. He now has a nasal lump, and his breathing is difficult. 3 vets have recommended a rhinoscopy/CT scan. After contacting over 30 clinics, I've located only four that offer this specialized care. The cost is $3000-$5000 Marley generously shares his affection with everyone he encounters, including adults with disabilities and senior citizens. My son, who was once afraid of dogs, is now Marley's best friend. My two daughters adore him and eagerly anticipate playing with and feeding him each day. I cannot imagine life without him. He gently rests his head on people's shoulders and brings joy to everyone he meets. I work part-time and have scleroderma. Due to my disability and the responsibilities of raising three children, my financial resources are limited. I am unable to afford the full cost of the procedure, which I feel is unfair to Marley. I have been seeking ways to assist him

This is Mellow. He is a Ragamuffin mix. He's our sweet boy that picked us to be his parents. He loves to play and is a master at sneak attacks. He is only 1yr and 7 months old. We take him on walks and for car rides. He's not an ordinary cat and that's why we love him. At Mellows first vet visit he was diagnosed with a stage 4 heart murmur. In order to have him safely neutered we were referred to a cardiologist. Good news he was able to be neutered and have catnip. Bad news we learned he has a double chamber on his right venticle. They suggested meds to prevent heart failure and to have him back if any new symptoms occured. Mellow means everything to us and I would hate to have him suffer or lose him so young. I am asking for only enough funds to get his X-rays to know the severity of what's causing his symptoms. We truly appreciate it. Mellow collapsed after getting up from a nap last week. His breathing is faster and we could only afford to get a simple check up cause we couldn't afford X-rays. They requested we have this done asap considering it's most likely his heart.

Delhi, MN

I found daisy on Craigslist as a free dog, she is a golden doodle and was advertised as an out door dog, living in the area I do I decided to offer to take her. After talking to the breeder and the vet I discovered she had a dislocated tail and couldn’t control her bowels. Daisy has a dislocated tail that is close to the spine, she needs to have the tail amputated at the university of Minnesota because of where the injury is located. I just need help to pay for the surgery. Daisy is 3 months old and she is a very happy dog, she loves her kitten brothers and she loves her lab brother, she doesn’t like getting bathed a million times a day and is probably in pain but like puppies every where she is happy. I left an unhealthy relationship and of course I am sick, I have to have a 10 hour surgery mid august. I didn’t plan on adding another animal in my life but I believe that daisy was put in my path because I would save her and give her the best possible life.

Bismarck, ND

Star was a Christmas gift in 2020 to help as an emotional support animal for myself. She has been a great help for my PTSD. I don’t know what I do without her. Her full name is Starlightrose to be that guiding light. Unfortunately, my poor Star puppy was born with what they call a liver shunt. She received a surgery in 2021 in hopes to correct her liver to give her a long lasting life. Sadly, she is one of the 10% of dogs that has developed an additional liver shunt, and the vet at the UofM is suggesting another surgery. This surgery is extremely costly, and I don’t have the funds to cover another one. Star is special because she picks up on emotions and is right there when she notices I’m going to have an anxiety episode before I even do. Everyone who has met her has said she is such an adoring, loving dog. She’s always eager to please, and means the world to me. She’s also a great cuddle dog when you need that companionship. I went through a divorce and now I’m supporting myself on a single income and with the cost of living being so high these days I want to make sure I provide the best care for Star. It would mean so much to me for any help that I can received to achieve that.

Hi, Baby Bear and his brother Teddy came into my life in 2012.. They were 5 weeks old. Bear has been my best friend and biggest support since day one. He has been with me through many good times and many more dark times, currently right now life has been a struggle, my medical bills from cervical cancer surgery, sepsis hospital bill from said surgery to poor baby bears medical bills. Baby Bear is currently in a terrible condition where he is having to drag his back legs to move around, he is having a MRI done on 6/11/24 and if all goes well he will be receiving IVDD surgery on same day at UofM veterinary Medical Center small animal hospital. Bears surgery is a bit more expensive than most because he needs a cardiologist for his MRI&surgery due to a heart murmur. My handsome Bear has always been a loving boy, my beautiful baby is a giving tree. Always willing to give love and support even when he is breaking down and hurt. When your sad and hurt he’s always the first to make sure your okay and willing to stay with you till you are. He’s normally a very happy talkative playful boy who loves being the center of attention and showing off. I feel terrible that I need to be asking for help when I know it’s rough time out there for so many people but please consider helping even a little, I just can’t lose him right now, I’m struggling mentally and financially right now and I just can’t lose him.

He has the same birthday as my husband! We adopted him and he fit right in to the family. He just turned 7. Max is the smartest dog. He was fairly easy to train. He loves all other animals he has met and every person he meets. He is so sweet. He always wants to be with people and will lay with anyone available and willing. Everyone that has met him says he is the sweetest dog. Max loves every animal and person he meets. He loves the sprinkler, playing with toys, doing tricks and playing. He really loves food and treats. He learns tricks and commands easily. He always wants to cuddle and be with the family. He makes us laugh all the time with how funny and smart he is. Max has a ruptured disc in his neck. He has been on medication and kennel rest for a month now. We have had several veterinary visits in the last month and had to take him to Alistair McVey, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Neurology) at the University of Minnesota. The neurologist said he needs a surgery that is between $8,000-$9,000. Success rate of 90%-95%. Due to medical reasons of my own we are one income household. We have already spent around $800 on vet visits and medications in October. We have 1/2 the surgery cost. We don’t qualify for care credit or loans. Max is worth it and our family would be heartbroken without him

He has 3 humans to look after as well. Chester plays with Khloe his sister who is 7 months old and he is teaching her bad habits. Chester likes to tell all the other dogs in the neighborhood that this is his house and greets the delivery people by jumping at the door sometimes scarring them. Chester knows when we are upset and is in our face loving on us. He will steal his sisters toys and loves playing fetch. Chester loves to bark at the lawn service and they just smile at him. Chester loves to play keep away even though I don’t like that game. He lays on the back of my chair like a cat and I laugh at him all the time. He also sleeps under blankets and loves my green pay packer blanket. He loves to go bye bye he runs around the house like a crazy dog thinking we are leaving without him Chester has been healthy up until the last 2 months where he was drinking and urinating more after multiple vet appointments the vet found enlarged lymph nodes and biopsied them and it came back as lymphoma. We have started him on prednisone and Lspar but that will only help for a short time we so get him into remission we need to do chemo. I am disabled due to hypoparathyroidism and get less than 1000 dollars a month and to make that stretch is hard. I want to have more time with Chester because he is very attached to me and he has been my buddy every time I’ve had surgery and I need my buddy for the next time

Little is a 11-year-old Domestic Short Hair - Brown Tabby Cat in Minneapolis, MN, who needs $1,000 for Chemotherapy.

Minneapolis, MN

11 years ago, the most majestic princess would enter my life and teach me how to love. I zipped her up in my hoodie and felt my heart melt against her kitty heart and I was overwhelmed with pure unconditional love. We've been together through several break ups, a few homes. We currently live in an apartment in Minneapolis, MN where she has a cat tower, a window seat, and all the food and love. Little has lived with many different people from all walks on life. She generally likes all people and wins them over with her beautiful green eyes and sweet though sometimes sassy disposition. She has two kitty friends - Sora, a 25 lb gentle giant and a recent addition, Rory a 5 month old torbi kitten. She rules the show. She is in charge and they all know and respect that. She's the queen. Little is feline perfection. She is elegant and graceful, silly and smart and incredibly loving. Her favorite pastimes include napping in her window seat, sitting on you, enjoying some tuna juice or chattering at the birds outside. She has the tiniest little mew and she speaks in tones. She has yes and and a no. Her favorite toy is a taco and she likes to roll around on her back when she is happy. Little was recently diagnosed with cancer - a visceral mast cell tumor of the intensines. Fortunately, with treatment she has a very hopeful and promising prognosis. She is under the outstanding care of the oncology department at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. She will require multiple ultrasounds, chemotherapy, blood work and medication. I just started work started working a few months ago after having not been able to work for 5 years due to disability. I make only slightly over minimum wage and I work full-time. Having Little healthy again would make my heart whole. She is my everything, my entire heart.

Rosco is a rescue from Texas. He found us when we found him at Benches Animal Shelter. When it was his turn to meet us he fell in love with our son. It was time for him to be put back in his kennel and he went over and sat on my sons lap and wouldn't move, the rest is history. He came home with us. People always say they pick their owners and it was very true for us. Rosco is a very lovable and smart dog. He is very food motivated, if you have food he's your best friend. He always wants to be by someone and touching them when we are home and has claimed our beds at night as his own. He is very vocal when its time to eat and won't let you forget. He has been on a strict diet since his last surgery and has lost over 13 (huge milestone for him), Rosco loves the snow but hates the rain and storms. He would go on walks for hours and sniff everything if he could. He loves to play fetch with is stuffed animals and can figure out any treat toys you give him. He will greet you at the door when you come home. His toxic trait is getting into the garbage and snack cupboard's when we forget to lock them. He loves to go boating and ice fishing too. On Sept. 8, 2022, Rosco was diagnosed with Bilateral Laryngeal paralysis, elongated soft palate, everted tonsils and everted laryngeal saccules, he ended up having emergency surgery to save his life. On Jan. 26, 2023 Rosco was re evaluated for failure of the tie back surgery. He is in need of the tie back surgery again so he can live a long and happy life. Due to this being Rosco's second surgery, I am maxed out financially from the first one $7000. Minneapolis, MN

Tribeca just turned 11, because you helped us! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ She is the epitome of all that’s good! She’s my best friend, copilot, protector, comforter, support animal. After ~ 10 appts (more to come), care & testing is costly. Her quality of life improved so much since we started the voyage. Thank you! Her inner comedian shines. She chose ME at the shelter — We’ve been inseparable since. Tribeca loves walks, especially being Ms Congeniality at the dog park, in her vest,. She’s the best at “pre-rinsing” dishes for the dishwasher, social hour at the corner by the sidewalk, befriending many people. She sweetly naps and cuddles Sparkplug, the cat. She has improved much, but our understanding is still evolving. She’s a complicated case: metabolic issues with frequent appts and tests are needed. Breathing issues lead to stopping her dental care in May. We are still trying to get that breathing issue resolved, so she will be comfortable. Thanks to friends helping, we are still kicking! Mom has paid so much out of pocket, instead of gas and repairs for her car and paying the water bill. Tribeca’s care still exceeds what I can pay on my SSI income. I've cut back on buying groceries, and paying bills, to get her to a vet, get meds, etc. Your help makes a difference! Thx for reading Tribeca’s story! Please share our story with others. A big thank you. Waggle, where 100% of donations go to our cause. You are making lives better. We thank everybody for your support and love!

Her surgery was very expensive, which I put on my moms care credit card. Elpis needs an endoscopy.:( If surgery is required, we are looking at even more bills.:( Dec 7, Elpis was diagnosed with ME. On Dec 14, she was diagnosed with PRAA. She had the PRAA repair surgery on Dec 23rd at the age of 10 weeks and 4 days. Her surgery was successful, but since surgery I’ve noticed her having a stridor/wheezing when overly excited or exerting herself. I brought her in on Tuesday to my local vet, and they did an X-ray. They noticed a foreign object in her stomach... Elpis is special because she was born with a congenital defect known as persistent right aortic arch (PRAA), which caused the mega esophagus (ME). Since her diagnosis she has a special food consistently and feeding regimen. Elpis gets fed a slurry four times a day and must stay upright for 20 minutes after she eats. Because she is small still, I feed her while holding her in the pet carrier!
