Niner
Niner is a 5 year old Doberman Pinscher in long beach, CA, who needs $21,354 for Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and CT Scans.
long beach, CA
Niner has been ours since the day he was born. A close family friend gifted him to us, and we have raised him for all five years of his life. He lives at home with his brother Happy and our four cats — Veronica, Rona, Luna, and Blue. We named him Niner because my dad is a diehard 49ers fan. From the very beginning, he hasn’t just been a pet he’s been family. Niner was recently diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma. This is an aggressive cancer that requires urgent surgery with wide margins followed by radiation therapy. In November 2025, he already endured emergency surgery after a bite injury in the same area. He recovered beautifully — but now we are facing cancer. It is treatable, and he has a real chance. We are fighting Niner is my shadow and my heart. He always wants to be by my side — whether I’m sitting, studying, or just walking through the house. He follows me everywhere and rests his head on me like he feels safest there. The way he looks at me is pure love and trust. His loyalty, gentle spirit, and constant presence have created a bond that feels deeper than words can explain. just finished nursing school and have not yet started my nursing position. I used my emergency savings for his first surgery in November. This cancer diagnosis came suddenly, and the cost of surgery and radiation is overwhelming.

Kira
Kira is a 12 year old Golden Retriever in Pico Rivera, CA, who needs $20,000 for Chemotherapy and Complementary Tests for Lymphoma.
Pico Rivera, CA
Kira came into my life in 2013 at a very critical time. I had just been diagnosed with lymphoma and was devastated, both physically and emotionally. Kira was only two months old, and at the moment I held her in my arms for the first time, I knew I had found my gift of life, my best friend, my angel, and my soulmate. Kira was diagnosed with lymphoma. An abnormal growth of lymph nodes in her neck prompted me to take her to the vet, and today we received this terrible diagnosis. She was also diagnosed with anemia and fluid in her lungs. It is urgent that she receive chemotherapy so she can overcome this devastating illness. We implore you for your help with all our hearts! Kira is a light for everyone who knows her; her sweetness makes everyone love her. Kira makes life more beautiful for everyone she meets. Kira loves stuffed animals, squeaky balls, and walks. One of Kira's favorite foods is broccoli, and she also likes bread, although she can't eat much. We are devastated by this diagnosis, and we only ask that we be given the opportunity to have her a bit longer! I’m the head of the household. We live in a small studio apartment with my 17-year-old son, who has epilepsy, Kira, and myself. I work full-time just to survive and provide for my son and Kira. She is everything to us! We implore your help to get treatment for Kira!

Leia
Leia is a 4 month old Pug in Canoga Park, CA, who needs $15,000 for Portosystemic Shunt Surgery.
Canoga Park, CA
Hello everyone, my name is Iridian, and I am Leia’s owner. Leia is a four-month-old puppy who came into my life unexpectedly at the end of November 2025. In the short time she has been with me, she has brought comfort, strength, and light during a difficult period, helping me move forward and focus on what truly matters. On January 9th, 2026, my sweet Leia suddenly wasn’t herself, and I rushed her to ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital. She was diagnosed with a portosystemic shunt requiring surgery. For now, I manage her care with medication and diet, but I fear her condition may worsen. That’s why I’m here, asking for your help. My sweet little Leia is truly one of a kind. She may be tiny, but she’s full of sass and has the personality of a big dog. She acts tough, but her heart is incredibly gentle and loving. She’s playful, curious, and brings so much joy, especially when she’s with my two-year-old niece—they’re inseparable, like best friends. I’m a full-time student working full-time, barely covering living costs. Leia suddenly got sick, and she means the world to me. I’m taking a second job, but I’m asking for any support from my community to help with her care.

Rosie
Rosie is a 16 month old Pug in Northridge , CA, who needs $2,000 for Salivary Mucocele.
Northridge, CA
I got Rosie in December from a person selling her on the streets of downtown LA. She looked frightened and lonely, so I brought her home that same day to prov her safety and love. Since then she has become a gentle, joyful part of my family. Rosie accompanies me constantly, relishes affectionate cuddles, takes pleasure in toys, and consistently br She quickly bonded with me and trusts me so deeply Rosie has a swelling under her jaw, and the vet at Affordable Animal Hospital diagnosed her with a salivary mucocele caused by a ruptured gland. The leaking fluid can get infected or affect her breathing. She needs surgery soon to remove the damaged gland and prevent the swelling from becoming dangerous and more painful. Rosie is a sweet and gentle dog who follows me everywhere and loves cuddles. She enjoys soft toys, treats, and short walks. She sits by my feet and watches everything I do. Rosie is friendly with everyone and has a calm, loving personality. She brings joy, comfort, warmth, and peace into my life daily and is a deeply cherished little soul. his expense was unexpected, and I don’t have savings or an emergency fund to cover Rosie’s surgery. I live on a limited income and already struggle with regular bills. I want to help her as soon as possible, but I can’t afford the full cost on my own. Any support would mean

Pumpkin
Pumpkin is a 4 month old Mix-Breed in Sylmar, CA, who needs $1,552 for Splint/Cast Placement Under Sedation.
Sylmar, CA
This is Pumpkin, are sweet little rainbow 🌈 puppy! She's a 4 month old chihuahua/poodle mix and she's just amazing! We got her very recently but we are absolutely in love! 💯 She is the first puppy we decided to get after losing our beloved Popeye, a Scottish terrier. But, we've loved having Pumpkin in our lives and now we just want to help her.🐶🐕🐕🦺🐶 Our baby girl Pumpkin is in need of immediate care. She was involved in an accident where she was stepped and fallen on. She loves to run between our legs and feet, and I assume its because she feels the safest when we're standing and she is sitting between our leg, but unfortunately this time, she got tripped over and her front left paw broken. She needs sedation and a splint cast immediately. She's literally one of the light of our lives! Besides our 13 month old daughter, she's just our new second puppy daughter. We got her so our baby girl could grow up with a bestie, I loved our family dog when I was a child and I just want her to be able to experience the same joy I felt as a child. I wanted her to experience that bond and that unconditional love at a young age. If Pumpkin doesn't receive the treatment and cast she needs she will be send home with nothing and forced to bare the unbelievable pain of a broken bone. Her quality of life with decrease and she will never walk right again. I can't live with that, she deserves better.

Figaro
Figaro is a 5 year old American Curl in Van Nuys, CA, who needs $2,000 for Fatty Liver Disease.
Van Nuys, CA
Figaro is a rescue cat. I knew he was mine from the first day I saw him. He’s so perfect. He lives with me in my small studio apartment along with his brother Otis, a long hair dashhound. Figaro had started vomiting, and stopped eating and drinking water. We brought him to the vet where they told us he may have fatty liver disease and he needs intense care to survive. Figaro is the most perfect boy. He’s so sweet and loving and loves to be cuddled. Everyone falls in love with him instantly. He’s so gentle, never uses his claws, only to make air biscuits, loves licking your face and smooshing his head up against you. He’s a very talkative boy as well and loves running water from the faucet. Fig makes every part of my life better. I recently relocated for a job, and have been struggling financially. I have to take on large finances at the moment and can’t take on anything more. I love fig more than anything but I can’t afford the care he needs right now.

Waffles
Waffles is a 4 year old French Bulldog in Piru, CA, who needs $2,000 for TECA-BO.
Piru, CA
We rescued Waffles from the Camarillo Animal Shelter on 10/29/2024. We just lost our Senior Dog Bella she was the daughter I never got to have. I was feeling a void in my life so I went to the shelter to rescue a dog in need. I automatically fell in love with Waffles at first sight, she was not scared at all she ran to me like we already knew one another, from that point i know we were meant. Waffles was rescued with a bad case of Otic Polyps, the growths are so enlarged that it completely muffles her hearing and left her deaf. She requires TECA-BO surgery asap to have both ear canals removed before it affects her internally @ ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospitals of San Fernando Valley. Camarillo Animal Shelter and our Vet both believed Waffles was used for breeding and then dumped at the shelter because she is older and has Otic Polyps, they believe the owners did not have any more use for her so they gave her up. She was surrendered with an enlarged vulva and engorged breast as if she had recently given birth. She is very loving, wants to be held and deserves better. Waffles deserves the world. We are at a financial block as we just lost our two senior dogs this year in which one we already tried to save and maxed out or credit cards. Please help us save Waffles.

Artoo
Artoo is a 11 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Sherman Oaks, CA, who needs $2,000 for CHOP Treatment.
Sherman Oaks, CA
My dog, Wicket, was diagnosed with stomach cancer and passed away five days later. I was mortified. I couldn’t get my head out of his dog bed. Then, I saw Artoo’s picture come up at the Burbank Animal Shelter in a raffle. He looked exactly like a dog I had in college and didn’t think I had a chance. I tried any way and won! He became my baby and saved my life. After 3 years of having Artoo, he was diagnosed with stage 4 B-Cell Lymphoma. He is currently being treated with CHOP treatment at the Veterinary Cancer Group in Woodland Hills, CA. Artoo is a homebody. He loves to cuddle with his Mommy on the couch. He also likes to sit on feet. If I bring him to a party, he will go around and sit on everyone’s feet. He is the cutest little munchkin around and loves by leaning on you. CHOP Chemo treatment is the best around and will hopefully give him 2+ years. I will put myself in financial ruin just to give him that. My other dog just needed knee surgery and my Dad passed away all in the same week. My job ended in June. Any help would be so appreciated.

Mac
Mac is a 9-year-old Portuguese Podengo, Terrier, Corgi Mix in Canoga Park , CA, who needs $2,000 for Endoscopy, Diagnosis, and Treatment.
canoga park, CA
I rescued my dog from the animal shelter on May 18th, 2017. He was the only dog in the dog shelter who wasn't barking and it caught my moms attention. We hung out with him and we fell so in love. My brother and I convinced our mom to say yes and we adopted him…..and to our surprise it was ALSO his birthday. May 18th. God knew exactly what he was doing when he placed us at the shelter that day. Mac looooves to go hiking, we would go on weekly hikes (before he got sick). Mac is a big fan of long walks, I'd like to say he's a pro. Before he got sick we would walk 3-4miles everyday. Mac loves to eat, you can always find him in the kitchen asking for treats, & he deserves all of them because he's such a good boy. Mac has made an impact on our home. He's brought our family closer than ever & truly believe he's a blessing that God sent us. Mac is the best dog and I'd move the world to make him happy and healthy. He loves to eat his carrots, we call him carrot man. He knows how to sit, stay, & go crazy on zoomies. Mac lifts me up when I'm low, & I'm doing everything to be his strength as he's currently sick. Back in July, Mac was in the vet 5-6 days out of the week receiving fluids, xrays were taken, endless amount of labs, stool samples, ultrasounds, everything. We finally got referred to a specialist and they recommended an endoscopy but the cost is $3-4k. All I want is answers to what is wrong with my best friend. I used my emergency funds on him, I spent everything I had saved up, 4k. When Mac got sick I also was moving so money is really tough at the moment as I'm trying to juggle rent, bills, keep him alive and most importantly get answers as to what's wrong with my best friend.

Isis
Isis is a 15-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Encino, CA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Hospital Admission and Diagnostics.
Encino, CA
Hi, my name is Isis! My mommy rescued me from the pound when I was five years old. She named me after an Egyptian Goddess. We've been through thick and thin together over the last 10 years. I have a three year old sister named Tasha (see pictures). I'm so lovable and friendly, as you can see in one of my pictures, they really enjoyed having me around when I was at the vet. I'm such a good sport! I'm a great companion and good sister to Tasha. When my mommy is sad, I cuddle her to make her feel better, and when I am sad, she gives me lots of hugs too. I'm always at the door when she comes home from work, and I follow her everywhere, even to the bathroom! Mostly I stay indoors but I love watching birds and squirrels from the window, and sometimes my mommy takes me out in the warm sunshine! My favorite friend, besides mommy, is my sister Tasha. I am a very shy cat, and mommy and Tasha make me so comfortable and happy. Honestly, I think my mommy is super crazy about me. She's always giving me kisses and snuggles and when she comes home from work, I don't know who is happier to see who lol. Tasha's the talker, but it's the quiet ones, like me, who are good listeners! Recently, I had an unexpected medical emergency. Late Monday evening, I couldn't stop vomiting and going to the litter box, but nothing really came out the back end. For as many trips as I made, I only managed one tiny poop and I cried while it came out. I vomited two more times and went back to the litter box. This time there was blood. Mommy took me to Access Hospital, where I was admitted. Mommy's been living on a single income since 2020. Saving for an unexpected emergency is difficult. The few cards she has have low limits & the hospital stay maxed them out. She'll follow up with a regular vet, but this event has been emotionally & financially traumatizing.

Sookie
Sookie is a 11-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Canoga Park, CA, who needs $2,000 for Debulking Surgery.
Canoga Park, CA
From the moment I layed my eyes on my precious little Sookie, I knew she would be mine. Sookie was caught along with her mother from a feral cat colony. She was only 4 weeks old. She only had one eye. I brought her home and she immediately became apart of our family. Everyone immediately fell in love with Sookie. Out of all our 6 cats, she's the sweetest one. Sookie follows me everywhere. When I go to sleep, shes right there beside me. When I wake up, she's right there next to me. Our other cats have always given her a hard time. Sookie loves to stare and follow shadows on the wall and cry at them as if she sees spirits. She loves drinking out of her water fountain. One of the weird things she likes to do is roll around on our dirty clothes as if they were a pile of catnip. Sookie unfortunately developed cancer in the spot where she had no eye. We had it surgically removed and biopsied in 2021. It came back as apocrine adenocarcinoma. In March 2023, it unfortunately came back and we had it removed again. This time he closed up the eye socket. Since then it has came back. The vet suggested a debulking surgery. But it will be 8000 dollars that we cant afford. We work at a school and have been off for summer with no income. It would mean the world to me to see my cat get to live a longer and comfortable life. I do not want to see this mass grow and take over her face and for it to start spreading rapidly. Anything helps.

Leia
Leia is a 12-year-old mixed in Thousand Oaks , CA, who needs $2,000 for Open Wound Care.
thousand oaks, CA
I 'acquired' Leia when a uni friend asked if I could take over her care they were unable to at the time. I'd fallen in love with her upon meeting her and a couple of days later, my newest family member was home. This was 12 years ago. Now, she's moved across the world with me. She lives where I live (currently CA) Leia is under the impression that she is human, too. She is very attached to me and unfortunately, i feel the same about her. She likes to camp, hike, hang out on the beach (but not in the water), at the park, and at friends houses. She is fully expectant that you draw a seat for her at the dinner table & that she should be allowed anywhere I go. Leia is incredibly smart. She's very communicative and will look you directly in the eyes to try and tell you what she wants. I have always been told that its impressive how well behaved she is. She's stoic & calm; she loves other animals (cats included). She also has an uncanny ability to get the biggest dog in the park to be her follower Lou is currently at ACCESS SFV, and has been hospitalized for 2.5 days. Following mass removal surgery + a partial mastectomy on Friday, Leia developed an infection (possibly from the procedure) which caused abscesses (pus pockets) in the wound. Because it was internal, it affected her kidneys & caused severe anemia. After 2.5 years of pandemic, and unsteady employment, my savings have been blown by the sudden complications. I cannot meet the over $18,500 in fees at this time and I know that her care is still continuous.

She is truly my soulmate. She found me in the oddest way when I needed her the most. I was working at a Sunglass store in my hometown and I was on a break with my boyfriend outside of the store. That’s when I saw her in the arms of her previous owner. We asked if she was for sale and she handed my little girl to me right there and then and said I could have her! I’ve now had her for 11 years:) She’s our family dog! She’s been in our lives for 11 years. She is LOVED and worshipped by everyone. She’s the queen of the house and what Apples wants she gets. I revolve my whole life around her happiness and health. She’s got a closet full of toys, treats, supplements and clothes! She comes to work with me every day and everyone in the office loves her. She’s universally loved everywhere she is Apples is the most funny looking dog ever. Since she was 1 years old she has acted like a human child clinging onto me for dear life and we never hear the end of how funny it looks. She always gets called wookie, Yoda or chubaca! Her little underbite and standing ears give her the funniest face and she l gets called names everywhere we go! Apples Was diagnosed with diabetes back in September when she was hospitalized for seven days at Access in Woodland Hills fighting for her life. We brought her home and we recovered her fully to the point where she was in full remission of diabetes up until March of this year. She is now unfortunately back at Access hospital due to another diabetic crisis and it’s waiting for her life yet again. This is the second time in seven months that I’ve spent over $12,000 in medical bills. I’ve used up every single credit card that I own, opened up new credit cards, spent all the savings to my name and it started reaching out to friends and family for support. My last straw

Ashe
Ashe is an 11 month old cat in Pacific Palisades, CA, who needs $2,000 for emergency life-saving surgery to remove foreign bodies.
Pacific Palisades, CA
When Audrey's previous cat Ollie escaped her home and was killed during a hit and run, Audrey's young family was devastated. Up through the ashes of desolation rose Ashe, adopted from Kitten Rescue Los Angeles. "Ashe has been my little angel ever since and is the best little sister to Snowball", says Audrey. "She helped me through the mourning process when Ollie passed away. Our home is once again filled with love and happiness". Ashe is the sweetest, most energetic, happy little kitten. She sleeps on Audrey's chest every night and cuddles with Snowball throughout the day. "She is my comfort and has helped me tremendously through the ups and downs of life, loss and Covid", Audrey confesses. "Ashe makes us laugh every day- whether she steals lettuce out of my salad bowl or pounces on her big brother Snowball, she is such a special little girl with a massive personality. She purrs like a machine, and wants to give affection to anyone that is in need." Unfortunately, Ashe has an interest in her human siblings' non-edible toys. Although the family is extremely diligent about picking up after themselves to ensure Ashe's safety, Ashe swallowed a toy. Ashe was immediately rushed to the veterinary hospital for treatment, but the toy was already lodged in her stomach. The veterinary hospital gave Audrey's family the heartbreaking news; Ashe needed emergency surgery to save her life. "Hopefully they will be able to remove the foreign object and Ashe will then be able to heal and have a wonderful, long life. This little baby deserves it." This is a massive unexpected cost to Audrey's young family. They will stop at nothing to save Ashe, but they need help. "Your donation, no matter the size, will help me and the veterinary staff at Access Vet save Ashe's life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart in advance."

Sawyer
Sawyer is a 13-year-old in Ventura , CA, who needs $2,000 for CHOP protocol chemotherapy.
Ventura, CA
Sawyer is my soul mate pup. He has been with me since I rescued him when he was 2 months old. We call him Soy Boy and we have a unique song that we sing to him daily which is absolutely loves. When Sawyer was two years old, he was diagnosed with hemolytic anemia and was given a 20 percent chance of survival. This brave pup fought through years of treatment! Sawyer went into remission from his hemolytic anemia after years of treatment and has lived a great life. Now at the age of 13, he is diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma. Sawyer just welcomed a human brother to the family and has immediately embraced the protective older brother role. After years with his single mama, Sawyer is so content with his daddy and baby to complete his loving family. Sawyer has such a personality. He is the most loving dog I have ever met and he is so perceptive to anything repetitive that is said. He loves his walks, his ball, the beach, his sweaky toy, his stuffed animal guys, and his blankie on his part of the bed. He hates thunder and wind and will cuddle for extra comfort during those times. Sawyer just wants to make people happy! Poor Soy Boy has been diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma. Dr Wiles at the Vet Cancer Group SFV has explained that without treatment, Soy has a month to live, but with chemotherapy, he could have a year or longer to live if he tolerates it well and goes into remission. His lymph nodes are swollen, which was what alerted us to the issue. He is in good spirits but will decline fast without chemo. We are a young family with a newborn baby. We have to be mindful of our new family finances but we can’t let our fur baby die without fighting for him. We hope to be able to treat Sawyer to keep him out of pain and give him more time with his new brother and family.

Ra
Ra is a 10-year-old mixed breed in Van Nuys, CA, who needs $2,000 for MRI & Hemilaminectomy.
Van Nuys, CA
I found him on the street years ago. He was bleeding and wandering the streets alone. He had been bitten, so I believe that someone either tried to use him to fight other dogs and then dumped him after realizing he wasn’t a fighter; or someone used him as a bait dog and somehow he escaped. When I found him, he walked right up to me without any hesitation or fear, and we have been together since. He is extremely affectionate and he loves everyone, all humans, dogs, cats, birds, squirrels, everyone! He loves to cuddle and to receive affection. He is extremely intelligent. He learned in one day how to ring a door bell to alert me when he wants to go outside. When he meets a smaller dog, he instinctually will lay down so that he is not taller than the other dog. He loves belly rubs! He is EXTREMELY gentle. When he is offered anything to eat from one's hand, he takes it VERY GENTLY; he does that naturally/intuitively and didn't have to be taught that. When he sleeps, he is a loud snorer:) He loves to sit in one's lap, and he thinks he is a small lap dog trapped in the body of big dog. He loves to sleep in the bed, but it doesn't always work out well because he snores!:) He rear legs suddenly stopped working. They are paralyzed. I took him to Access Specialty Animal Hospital San Fernando in Woodland Hills and they conducted x-rays and blood work and everything was normal. I paid $1,100 for those tests and also medications, which I had to borrow because I have extremely limited income. The next step is to perform an MRI ($3,000) and then surgery ($10,000). I have very little income. I can't even afford treatment for my own medical issues, one of which is a painful sciatic nerve/back issue which has become even worse now because I have to pick him up 6 times a day to change his diapers. He weighs almost 80 pounds, half my weight.

Ella
Ella is a 19-year-old Mini Schnauzer in Bakersfield, CA, who needs $1,000 for Chemotherapy for Cancer.
Bakersfield, CA
I am dog rescue and animal rights againt the animal cruelty. I've rescued hundreds of dogs and I've donated $2 to $10 every time I shop at the PetSmart as well as other dog rescue nonprofits. I rescued 5 dogs and I kept them because they are very special and we had a very strong bond. I have them for over 10 years now. I live alone with 5 rescue dogs and they have recovered from severe animal cruelty. They learned to love again and around the people they can trust. They ended up with a very happy life and they are doing very well with everyone as well as animals. They usually stay home and enjoy their 0.49 acres huge backyard. Ella kept fighting to stay alive because she keeps trying to walk around, drink water & eat while she is very weak. She knew that it wasn't her time & she keeps looking at me as I can feel her language begging me to get her better. I can't put her down if she is trying! The only and very unique dog named Ella we are extremely CLOSE and she is very sick with possible cancer in her lungs and bladder. She is currently seeing Dr. Wiles at Veterinary Cancer Group in Los Angeles, CA and they gave her the meds. She started improving overnight and she still needs chemotherapy to fight off against the cancer. I am deaf and I communicate in sign language. Once we became very bonded and they knew that I am deaf. It was very unique that they figured out that I can't hear and they use their body language to communicate with me! It was very unbelievable that the dogs can figure out a way to communicate with their deaf parent(s)!

Bella
Bella is a 12-year-old Black Lab in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for Radiation.
Los Angeles, CA
My ex-husband and I adopted Bella back in 2008 when she was a puppy. We immediately knew we have adopted a special child: so smart, kind, polite, loving, and just a bundle of joy! Since my husband and I had separated back in 2016, Bella and I live together in Los Angeles. She's the love of my life. I've never loved anyone in the world the I love her. She is truly a gift! Bella is my support as much as I am her support. We do everything together: hiking, swimming, walks (of course), going to the drive-in movies, and when I was able to afford it, we traveled together. Bella loves her father (my ex-husband), and when he comes to visit us, it is always such a great time! Bella and I have daily conversations. She understands me. You see, she's my daughter, not my dog. I am divorced and out of work. I am a full time student, pursuing a degree in law. But I am just at the beginning of my educational journey. Her amputation surgery has drained all my savings. Bella is my life! I cannot see life without her. She means EVERYTHING to me! Bella is a healthy pup with the exception of residual cancer. She had to have her toe amputated since there was cancer there. The surgery was expensive, but I was able to come up with the money. However, the surgery drained all of my savings and I am left with nothing in my bank account. The residual cancer needs to be addressed with a one-time radiation treatment. When I speak to Bella, she listens. She tilts her head and processes the words. She will respond to many words, such as: walk, nap, treat (her favorite!), park, hike, beach, play, love, and many other words and sentences. She loves my home made bread, so I can no longer say "bread" out loud. She freaks out and drags me to the kitchen to bake it for her immediately! Haha:)

Riah
Riah is a 12-year-old Chi/Doxie/Beagle/Jack Russel Terrier Mix in Reseda, CA, who needs $700 for Lomustine, Denamarin & Clavacillian.
Reseda, CA
Rescued from West LA Animals shelter in 2008, Mariah now called Riah was adopted by me and her dog sister Stitch. A few months later her brother Buddy came along, also rescued. She was listed as a doxie/chi mix however after watching her I started seeing bits of JRT and Beagle in her. Riah's jumping made me think she was part Kangaroo, which I then started calling her Riah Roo and Roo Roo. Riah loves to sleep under the covers or on top of the covers but right smack by me in bed. If not in bed she loves her beds or snuggling with her brother & or sister in one of the dog beds. Riah loves going on walks, car rides with mama, and she most definitely does not like being left alone if she doesn't have to be. Riah loves belly rubs & loves to give kisses which I take as her talking. I was on disability for my congenital heart defect & now am for stage 4 Cancer. Riah is my kid, my everything. I would do anything for her like I would her dog brother & sister. I've always tried to save enough in case of an emergency, but Cancer was not saved up for. Riah we thought had allergies for the past two years, but it turned out that it wasn't allergies it was in fact cancer. After being seen by a competent vet at Best Friends Animal Hospital, they referred me to a Vet Dermatologist which was the one who took the biopsies & diagnosed her with Cutaneous Lymphoma with observations of CETL. Currently, she goes to SFV- Veterinary Cancer Group, Dr. Wiles. Riah thinks the vacuum and fireworks are evil. She will bark & chase the vacuum with her siblings and hide or stick right by me when the fireworks go. She loves to bark out front in the yard & act like she is house security. She wants to be friends with everyone, & wants to play with them even if they don't. She will never run from me but put her in the park or a yard she zooms like the roadrunner

Jane
Jane is a 6-year-old Husky/Rottweiler mix in Encino, CA, who needs 4,000 for treating lymphoma.
Encino, CA
I found Jane when she was 3-4 months old as a stray in Boyle Heights, CA (eastside is downtown LA). Foster her for 30 days and after posting flyers & social media, no one claimed her and I made her home my home. She was my very first “student” when I was in training as a certified dog trainer from Animal Behavior College. She has very calm temperament and like kids and kittens. She almost was a therapy dog but didn’t pass due to being uninterested at the last to tasks at hand. She loves to sheep herd and course agility. She also been a vital asset in my life with my health issues like being a stroke survivor, my diabetes and controlling high blood pressure.

Bella
Bella is a 12 year-old Tortoiseshell DSH in Crestline, CA, who needs $2,000 for Radiation (IMRT).

(I will copy and paste from the story I have written, I have applied for several grants so had to make everything makes sense!) Bella is family. I first met her in 2008. I had moved to California from Minnesota, with no friends or family out here. It was a terrifying experience but one I felt was necessary. I was recovering from my most recent episode in a 12 year battle with depression which had involved a suicide attempt and hospitalization and a fresh start felt like my last hope. I spent nearly three hours in a shelter searching for a kitty companion for my new life, and it was impossible to choose just one. My goal was to save a cat that would otherwise not make it, therefore I had walked right past Bella’s cage at the front, she was the ‘featured’ cat which I assumed meant she would be easily adopted. Eventually however, a worker brought her to me, explaining she was featured because she had been there 6 months and didn’t have much of a chance left. They estimated her age at 10, no one wanted an older cat. I held her and she laid across my left shoulder (her favorite position, right over the heart!) snuggled her face next to mine and we have been inseparable ever since. It even turned out they had vastly mis-estimated her age due to her poor teeth. My 10 year old lady turned out to be a 2 year old girl! She did eventually have to get all teeth removed, except one, so now we sometimes call her snaggletooth when her lip gets stuck over her remaining tooth! Bella has been a nurse to my father through his open heart surgery and to my mother struggling with multiple health issues and anxiety. Bella is my registered Emotional Support Animal, she accompanies me everywhere and keeps me together when I have a recurrence of depression (now very rare, thanks to her) and reminds me of the simple beauty of life and the healing nature of love. She has been with our family for 10 years, giving of her love, her joy, her purrs, her snuggles and her devotion. She has never held back in what she gives to us, and up until now has never asked for anything in return other than our love. Bella loves trips and accompanies us by road or plane when we go visit our family in Minnesota, she is a spoiled grandchild! My partner and I have no children and no other pets so she is the focus of the family. Recently when we were trying to figure out was wrong with her and she was on so many meds that made her sick, she lost a ton of weight and was pretty depressed. We road tripped to my childhood home of Minnesota where my parents live in the woods, Bella spent two weeks playing outside and being spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa (steak and butter for breakfast even!) and gained all of her weight plus her energy and personality back.

Maurice
Maurice is 14-year-old miniature poodle in Lawndale, CA, who needs $2,000 for radiation of the tumor pressing against his brain.
lawndale, CA
I wasn't looking for a dog when i got Maurice. We had a bond from day one and it was so obvious that my friend who just bought him as a baby gave him to me. We traveled across the country and back together. He has always been right by my side. He will play hide and seek and hide from me and sit there and watch me call his name and just when I am about to freak out cause i cant find him he will walk out from wherever he is hiding and have the biggest grim on his face. He loves to play chase. If it runs he will chase it and expect for it to chase him back. I never go anywhere without him. Our family is made up of me and him. all we have is each other. He even rode in the ambulance and stayed in the hospital for 3 days with me. He is my best friend and he has never let me down. I hope I don't him down by not being able to pay for the treatment that will save his life.
