Kapten

Kapten is a 7 year old Siberian Husky in Mount Prospect, IL, who needs $10,000 for Hyperparathyroidism.

Mount Prospect, IL

Kapten came into our lives 8 years ago. He's a Husky/Cattle Dog mix and has become an inseparable part of our family. I originally wanted a Pomsky, and the breeder wasn't honest about his breed, but I decided he'd be my dog anyway and completely fell in love with him. He might not have been the dog I wanted, but he's the dog I needed. He's the only pet in our household, and his favorite time is wh Kapten was recently diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism, caused by a benign tumor on his parathyroid gland, confirmed by ultrasound at Veterinary Specialty Center in Bannockburn, IL. This isn't a chronic condition we'll manage forever, it's a one-time surgery that can cure it completely. But left untreated, the elevated calcium it's causing puts him at real risk for kidney damage. Huskies a Kapten has the most striking eyes, one blue and one gold, and it's the first thing people notice about him. But what makes him special is how present he is with the people he loves. He's not the kind of dog who's happy just being in the room, he wants to be part of everything. Whether it's a walk around the neighborhood or a lazy afternoon on the couch, he's glued to our side. He's gentle, a littl We're new homeowners, just closed on our first home last year, and between the mortgage and unexpected family circumstances, we don't have $10k+ in reserve for a surgery like this. We're doing what we can on our end, we just need help closing the gap so Kapten gets care.

Charlie

Charlie is a 10 year old Beagle in Plainfield, IL, who needs $25,000 for MRI and Surgery for IVDD.

Plainfield, IL

Charlie lives with us and our 8 year old son. My husband is already in a wheelchair full time and needs round the clock help since his right arm is paralyzed. Charlie was originally diagnosed with IVDD which brought us to the Vetinary Specialty Center in Bannockburn Illinois, however, once we got there we found out he also had a 1.5 cm thickening in his stomach wall and pneumonia. He was immediately put on full time oxygen. Charlie is the bestest boy. He literally communicated not only though his eyes and the occasional howl or bark, but he has the BEST timing with snorts. It's hysterical. He always calls my husband out with a snort or lightens the mood. He can be out cold and he still snorts right when we need a laugh most. He's the light in an often difficult life navigating my husband's full time health challenges This was an unexpected medical emergency that required us to spend 40K just to keep him alive, before even being able to actually address his IVDD which would give him the ability to walk again. Surgery would be an additional 20K, or he can become paralyzed for good.

Tomas

Tomas is a 6 year old Maine Coon in Lisle, IL, who needs $5,000 for Colectomy Surgery.

Lisle, IL

Our cat Tomas is a 6-year-old Maine Coon who has been fighting a severe and painful gastrointestinal condition for years. He has a history of chronic constipation and megacolon, including previous emergency treatment and colon surgery earlier in his life. Over the past several days, his condition has worsened significantly. Despite intensive medical treatment, hydration, enemas, and medications, Tomas has not improved. Five days have passed, and the medications are no longer helping. He is uncomfortable, not eating normally, and unable to pass stool on his own. Our veterinary team has confirmed that the next steps are urgent diagnostic imaging (X-rays) followed by likely surgery. The doctors have advised that a subtotal colectomy may be necessary to relieve his suffering and give him a chance at a normal, pain-free life. This decision is not taken lightly. Surgery is the last option, but without it, Tomas’s condition will continue to cause him pain and serious complications. The cost of advanced imaging, hospitalization, anesthesia, and surgery is more than we can manage alone. We are asking for help to cover Tomas’s veterinary care so that treatment can move forward without delay. All funds raised through Waggle will go directly to the veterinary clinic providing his care. Tomas is a gentle, loving cat and a member of our family. Any support — whether through a donation or by sharing his story — means more than we can express. Thank you for helping us give him a chance to heal.

Persey

Persey is a 9 year old Persian in Naperville , IL, who needs $2,000 for Definitive Radiation.

Naperville, IL

My baby boy Persey is 9 years young. I rescued him from a breeder when he was a kitten. He is very sweet and playful boy. His favorite thing is to play, eat and take a long nap. Currently me and Persey live at my parents place because I’m struggling financially but rest assured Persey always been treated like a prince. Persey never had any medical issues until now. Veterinary specialty center in Bannockburn diagnosed him with nasal lymphoma a type of cancer. He has a tumor that is causing facial deformity and breathing problems. Persey loves to cuddle. He is super talkative and affectionate with me and my parents. When he is ready to eat he looks at me and meows. Very smart boy. He can do few tricks and his favorite thing is getting a treat. I lost my job earlier this year and up until October I was unemployed. I found a job as a caregiver for elderly however my income is low. I cannot afford the proposed radiation treatment for Persey which can save his life. He is my baby. Please help me save him.

Jezebel

Jezebel is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees in Prospect Heights, IL, who needs $2,000 for TPLO.

Prospect Heights, IL

We rescued Jezebel from Wright way when she was 6 months old. She is now almost 3.5. she lives with us in the suburbs where she has a half acre to run around and chase squirrels, play Frisbee and play with her sister. In July we noticed a limp. Quickly we found she could not put weight on her back right leg. Limping around, laying in the grass, taking way too long to get up and not wanting to play. Our regular vet, Preiser was able to alleviate some pain with medicine but the limping continues. This morning we took her to a orthopedic surgeon and they said it will just get worse with our surgery. Jezebel loves to muzzle your face, she loves to lick your hands. She has a smaller older sister that she loves to play with but she loves to play keep away and fetch. I am so sad she can not play anymore. She loves to protect my kids and is just a big scared y cat. Recently our taxes went up twice over $800 each time. 2 of my kids had to get braces this year, our oven just broke and I recently just got hit in my car. Care Credit is helpful however min payments to avoid interest is $570 a month. That is almost twice my car payment.

Photo of Thor

Thor

Thor is a 4 year old American Bulldog in Wheeling, IL, who needs $12,000 for Knee Surgery.

Wheeling, IL

3 years ago for Christmas this sweet baby was given to us. Unfortunately we lost my service dog due to cancer, but this little guy who looked just like her was sent to us. My children love him and he has been not only an amazing service dog to me but has became my 6 year old sons. He goes everywhere he is. Thor is a staple of our family, the neighborhood sweetheart. He's the biggest sweetest boy! August 17th on my birthday we rushed Thor to the emergency specialty vet center as a jump on to the bed left him unable to walk and a terrible clicking sound. They kept him there for 8 hours running tests to find out what could have happened. Unfortunately Thor tore his knee ligament in his right knee, and his left knee is giving out as well. We ordered him a knee brace but still needs surgery. Thir is extremley special to me as he is my service dog, however he has also become my 6 year old service animal. Ryder suffers from sensory issues, but Thor is always by his side to help him through whatever feelings he is having. Thor doesn't bark much, he's a total snuggle bug and always having to sleep on top of me, he also gives the best kisses ever! Thor is already on medications for the rest of his life. We are asking for any support we can get to help us pay for his double knee surgery. They are saying $6000 or more per knee so we're asking for help with $12,000 as that will cover his surgery, not after care.

Cappy

Cappy is a 7 year old Siamese in Naperville, IL, who needs $2,000 for IV Fluids.

Naperville, IL

We rescued Cappy from a shelter when she was 4 months old. She was born on September 11, 2017. She lives with myself, husband and our 5 children. She is very loved and too young for this. We are absolutely devastated. She suddenly got very ill with kidney failure. We don't know what caused it but we want to try and fight for her. She needs to stay in the hospital for up to 5 days. She can not eat or drink. Her mouth has ulcers. She has low body temperature, she can not walk very good. She needs fluids and a feeding tube due to the ulcers in her mouth. Cappy is very vocal. She knows how to open bedroom doors so she can get into the room with us. She loves sleeping next to someone at all times. Shes the sweetest cat to the kids and loves them. She loves laying on top of the couch and watching the birds outside. We were in the middle of looking for a house but had to put it on hold due to all of the medical bills for Cappy. We're not sure how much it will cost us in total. We are unsure how long she will be in the hospital. We would really appreciate any help.

Nanook

Nanook is a 5 month old Siberian Husky in Huntley, IL, who needs $2,000 for Fractured Femur and Femoral Neck.

Huntley, IL

We have just adopted Nanook. We previously adopted what would be his best friend, Willow. The two puppies are inseparable. They were playing, and Nanook fell off of the chair, breaking his leg in two spots. We are looking at a vet bill in the thousands to set it and not remove the leg. We are devastated. I don't know how to cover the vet bill. Any help would be greatly appreciated! He's just 5 months old, putting him in a splint is going to hurt his growth in his leg. He has to stay in a splint to keep it steady for surgery. Help!!! He is training to be a therapy dog for our foster kids. We have fostered 60 children. Most of them have anxiety issues and depression. Mostly teenagers. The two dogs we have are helping them to cope with the loss of their families. We are in a loss of funds caring for this animal and the kids we continue to take in. I am self employed. I recycle pallets for a living, and the winter is always slow with not a lot of money coming in.
