The Pig came into our lives 6 years ago when she was just 14 weeks old. She was born at a local shelter after her mother was brought in pregnant as a stray. She was born deaf and stole our hearts right away being one of the last of her litter to get adopted. After a short walk The Pig began to limp on her hind leg. It was really only noticeable after chasing a few birds in the yard. Then it became more frequent leading to having an X-ray done. This X-ray showed that she has torn her CCL (equivalent to an ACL in humans) in her right hind leg and a beginning tear in her left. Pig now needs to have surgery on both her legs at ProFormance Canine surgical. The Pig is special in so many ways. She was born deaf and has learned many signs for us to communicate with her. She is an absolute love that just wants to be next to her people at all times. Her greatest joy is laying under a blanket with someone she loves. While her official name given to her at the shelter is Pockets, we call her the Pig because she loves to snort around for all the smells. The cost of The Pigs surgery is about $6,000 per leg. So roughly $12,000 all together. Unfortunately we do not have the financial ability to pay for the surgery the pig needs at this time. It is crucial for her to have this surgery and be able to walk without pain.

Emmitt is a 2-year-old Shephard Mix in Nashville, TN, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Hospitalization and Ongoing PT and Care.

Emmitt was found at a church in Nashville & was taken to Animal Control by a good Samaritan. He had to have been dumped because at that time he had no use of any of his legs & could not support his body weight, which was literal skin and bones. A 911 was sent out for a rescue to pull Emmitt and Bonaparte’s came! He is severely malnourished & sweet as can be and is thankful to have a chance. Emmitt is an approximately 2 yr old Shephard mix that now weighs about 14 ½ lbs and has a long way to go in his recovery. Because of his extreme malnourishment his feeding has to be very regulated but he is doing great with his new fosters and gaining strength every day! He is incredibly thankful to be out of the hospital and in a home where he is definitely being spoiled by his new fosters! Emmitt has a spark and a will to live. If he did not there is no way he would have made it to 2 years old in that condition. You can count almost every rib and more bones than I've ever seen in a dog on his body but his will is so incredibly strong! He is inquisitive in his new foster home and continues to show more personality every day! He has a long road to recovery ahead but he is determined! After being released from 10 days in the care of Nashville Veterinary Specialists Emmitt (which is where the bulk of the bills are from ) and can now be seen by our vet Grassmere Animal Hospital as we navigate getting him healthy. He will also require ongoing physical therapy in addition to the range of motion work his fosters are to doing to help him gain strength in his limbs. Although Emmitt has been discharged from the hospital (where the bills are around $10,000) he will need continued ongoing treatment with physical therapy and regular vet visits as we work through the weight gain & determine medical needs for quite some time in the future.

I am a veterinary technician and met Ash when he was just 8 weeks old. He was rescued from a farm because of his amazing personality. He at the time was suffering from a multitude of issues. I was one of the technicians to help make him better. He was brought back to the clinic at 6 months of age because he needed a home. I decided that that home was going to be mine! Best decision ever! Ash was outside with me and my dog when he was attacked by another dog. Ash is asthmatic so due to the attack, he suffered an inability to breathe properly as well as a broken scapula. I rushed him to VCA veterinary Care where he spent the night on oxygen and received pain medication. He may need surgery for his broken shoulder. The surgical referral will tell us more but hopefully he doesn't. Ash is an amazing cat who loves everyone. He is so adoringly friendly and engaging. The minute you meet him, he would situate himself in your lap if you let him and purr while making the best biscuits you've ever had. He loves his dog's sister, Chloe and tolerates his cat's sister Astrid. But he head over heels adores and loves me. And I am so blessed to have him as my boy. I recently lost my job and have been having a difficult time securing another one. I've spent my life helping animals and it is so hard not being able to help my own. Ash is everything to me just like my other two animals. They are the reason why I get out of bed every day.

Violet came into my life when my mom adopted her as a christmas present from Dumb Friends League. Her and I live with my parents and we have the entire basement to ourselves. She does not like being around our dog as he scares her even though he just wants to play. We have another cat that she doesn’t really interact with much. Violet absolutely loves to sleep with me. She sleeps on my legs or right next to me with my arm around her. She is super sweet and cuddly but is scared of other people. It takes awhile for her to warm up to others. She knows when I get home from work and waits at the stairs for me to greet her. Her favorite things to do are play in her tunnels and lay on her cat tower. She enjoys watching animated movies and loves to talk. She likes cuddling with me when I am laying on my bed or sitting in my chair watching tv. She can also stand on her back legs for a long time which makes me laugh no matter how many times I’ve seen her do it Recently Violet had been having issues with coughing or wheezing. I found out she needs a tooth extraction(maybe more) because it is causing an infection in her eyes and sinuses. She was seen at Littleton Veterinary Clinic in Colorado by Dr. Rust. She is currently on antibiotics for the infections cause by the bad tooth or teeth. Both of my parents were out of work for two years due to health issues and I was the only employed person in the house. About 90% of my income went towards helping my parents out. I just want to be able to help Violet feel better. She means the world to me.

This sweet orange cat is one of numerous stray cats recently trapped and removed from government housing in Crystal City, Texas. Of all the cats rescued, he was the most critically injured. He had been used for target practice and suffered a devastating wound to the top of his head. Bear Den Sanctuary immediately stepped in to get him the veterinary care he urgently needed. Bear Den Sanctuary is dedicated to ending the suffering and overpopulation of homeless and feral cats by providing permanent sanctuary, veterinary care, spay and neuter services, and compassionate support to cats with nowhere else to turn. For cats like this one, that mission means the difference between continued suffering and the chance to heal. For starters, it is suspected that he was hit by a car—given the significant damage to his hips and hind legs. But what is even more mind-boggling to us is that, sometime BEFORE this happened, George was shot, point-blank at close range, MULTIPLE times in the head and right leg—with his bullet wounds indicating this happened months, possibly even a year, ago. Despite all that he has been forced to endure at the hands of humans, George STILL remains one of the sweetest boys. He loves everyone and everything, and everyone adores this huge teddy bear right back!– He is an absolute snuggle-bug, who adores his foster family and loves nothing more than being spoiled (*us too, buddy, us too…). George is the absolute sweetest boy! He's never met a stranger! His tail never stops wagging and he just loves to cuddle! He met a girlfriend in his new foster home, who he just adores! Then, when his emergency medical needs are tackled, George will also need to have a full veterinary workup, neutering surgery, and have his injured eye examined (and possibly removed). He may need to have a hip replacement down the road, depending on how his appointment with the Orthopedic Specialist goes. George is also heart worm positive and will need treatment for that This boy's ongoing medical costs have already run our Rescue well over $2,750, not including George's upcoming specialty exams, follow-up X-rays, surgeries, etc. The total cost of all of George's medical care is going to be extensive and we need any support we can get

Our sweet Lilly Lu will steal your heart with her love and sass. She was supposed to be our foster, but she won our hearts right away. Rescued from a bad breeding situation, she was given away far too young—without even having teeth—and weighed just 1 lb. We estimate she was only about 4 weeks old. Today, she’s a huge part of our family! Lilly has two rare, serious heart defects: severe pulmonary stenosis and a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Her heart is already significantly affected, and without surgery, her life expectancy is less than a year. She needs surgery to repair both defects. She truly is a little heart “unicorn.” She getting care at Baileys Small Animal Teaching Hospital @ Auburn University. Lilly Lu is so much more than a rescue—we can’t imagine our family without her. She has filled our home with love, laughter, and so much personality. She fought so hard to survive her difficult beginning, and now we’re fighting for her. The thought of losing her would absolutely crush every one of us. We’ve always done everything we can for our fur babies, but Lilly’s care is more than we can manage alone. Her exam alone was over 500$. We’re asking for help because we refuse to give up on our sweet girl and will do everything we can to save her.

Hello my name is Alexandra I currently live in NYC. My lovely dog Saturn was a gift for my son who has Autism. We got him about 8 years ago at the age of 2 months. He is an emotional supporting dog. My son named him Saturn after his favorite planet. Also he couldn't really speak at the time and that was one of the few words he was able to say. At the moment Saturn has cysts that developed on his back paws. He suffers from really bad environmental allergies. He's being treated currently at URVet Care Midtown in NYC. He's going to need surgery to remove them. Hopefully with this treatment and medication he will recover. Saturn is a very important part of the family. He is truly like another child. He will get upset and throw tantrums when he doesn't get his way. He will be the first one greeting you at the door. When someone is upset or having a bad day he will come up to you and put his head under your hand. Making you focus on petting him to distract you from your current emotional distress. I suffer from a bone disease and am currently on a fix income and can't afford his surgery. Saturn needs this help to improve his quality of life. To have him back to his old happy self would me the world to me.

Aria is our 10 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who has been my best friend for nearly her entire life. We live together in Sunnyside, Queens, where she loves our neighborhood dog run and chasing squeaky balls in our apartment courtyard. When she needs a break from city life, she happily visits Grandma's backyard in Connecticut. After finding a lump in Aria's neck and noticing increased panting and coughing, we brought her to Court Square Animal Hospital. She was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma in multiple lymph nodes and a mast cell tumor on her hind leg. We have been referred to The Veterinary Specialty Referral Center of Manhattan for oncology care. Aria still thinks she's a puppy. She lives for squeaky balls and will instantly perk up when she hears one squeak, even after deciding she's done walking like the stubborn corgi she is. Everyone at our local Irish market knows her and gives her turkey after she shows off her favorite tricks. She brings joy wherever she goes. I am a full time nursing student in New York City while working to support myself. Aria's chemotherapy is estimated to cost $15,000 to $20,000, far beyond what I can afford. Any support would give my best friend the chance to fight this cancer and continue her happy life.
