Help Velvet get Knee surgery to fix patella and FOH — San jose, CA

San jose, CA

After 6 years of living with family, we finally moved into our own small apartment. Just 3 weeks later, we rescued our sweet girl at only 8 weeks old. She quickly became the missing piece of our family. She is loving, playful, goofy, and full of personality. She has brought our family endless love, laughter, and happiness. She truly is our baby and the best thing that ever happened to us. At only 1 year old, our girl has severe hip degeneration and a severely rotated/luxating kneecap. Her vets believe the hip condition may be developmental or something she was born with. She needs an orthopedic specialist and may require major surgery, including a total hip replacement and kneecap surgery. She is currently receiving veterinary care as we seek the specialized treatment she needs. She is more than our pet—she is our baby and a cherished part of our family. We only have one child, our 16-year-old daughter, and our girl has become her best companion. After waiting 6 years to have a home where we could welcome a dog, she filled our lives with love, laughter, and happiness. We cannot imagine our family without her. The orthopedic care and surgery she needs are far beyond what we can afford alone. We are doing everything we can to help our baby, but we need our community’s support. Every donation or share brings us closer to giving her the treatment and pain free future she deserves.

Help Churro get TPLO and MLP Unilateral — San Antonio, TX

San Antonio, TX

Churro is our young, energetic Kelpie mix who came into our lives after we adopted him as a puppy from the SaN Antonio Humane Society. He is nearly 80 pounds of personality—playful, vocal, loving, and always ready for an adventure. Watching such an active dog struggle with his hind leg has been heartbreaking, but he continues to greet every day with excitement and love. Churro has been diagnosed with a luxating patella grade 4, meaning his kneecap slips out of its normal position. This causes limping, stiffness, pain, and difficulty bending or bearing weight on his hind leg. Because he is young, surgery was initially delayed until his growth plates developed. He now needs corrective surgery to restore stability and mobility. Churro is more than a pet—he is family. He is a young, energetic, affectionate dog whose big personality brings laughter and love into our home every day. It is heartbreaking to watch him struggle when he should be running, playing, and enjoying life. His recovery would give him the chance to be the happy, active dog he was meant to be. He came at a time we needed him more than he needed us. Churro’s medical needs have come at an especially difficult time for our family. We are currently facing significant attorney fees while pursuing our homebuilder over serious problems with our home. Help Churro for surgery and care he needs to live without pain.

Help Shaq get Intra-thoracic surgery — Kennesaw, GA

Kennesaw, GA

Shaq is my best friend. He's a 7.11 yr old Great Dane. I love his goofy, lovable, silly, protective self. Sadly, he's recently been diagnosed with a growing mass located near his ribs. He needs a surgery called Intra-Thoracic Surgery. Our own Vet doesn't perform this type of surgery that only a Specialist can do. The estimated cost will be somewhere betwen $2000 - $3000. It breaks my heart knowing that I cannot afford the costs. I'm not one to ask for help; I'm the one who typically helps others, including people and animals. But my income is very limited and I'm reaching out to others for help. I will know further details this coming Monday, 8/31/26 and will update this page then. Donations would be greatly appreciated and can be made directly to the Vet Clinic or me. Either way, this is an urgent request as he will need surgery immediately. Our Vet said the mass is intertwining itself around Shaq's lungs and that it could also develop into cancer if not taken care of ASAP. Thank you in advance for your help and prayers, which are also desperately needed. Mass that requires an Intra-Thoracic surgery. The hospital will more than likely be Blue Pearl in Atlanta, GA or UGA University in Athens, GA or Auburn University in Auburn, AL. I got Shaq when he was 9 weeks old, and he's been my inseparable best friend ever since. My protector, my funny clown, my everything. He is also my lifesaver. I miss the daily walks we used to go on. The mass has caused him to start limping and I don't dare take him on walks for fear of causing further discomfort. Shaq was born 2 days before my mom passed away from ovarian cancer. She was "my person," my go-to whenever I had good or bad news. Her passing greatly affected me. Shaq was the only one that put a smile on my face. Even though it would be 9 weeks before I got to hold Shaq in my arms, he brought so much joy during a time when I was so broken and sad. The thought of losing him is absolutely unbearable! Up until 2023, my take home pay was $100K. Life was good. Life was manageable...that is, until early February 2023 when I was part of a big company layoff. As hard as I tried to turn my situation around, it would not be unit February 2024 before I finally got another job offer. But it was at a $40K paycut. I had no choice to accept it, no other offers were coming in. I've been trying to increase my finances ever since. My biggest fear has come true. That something might happen to Shaq that I couldn't afford to take care of. He's such a good sweet boy. He's even pretty popular on my Facebook account.
