Kobe

Kobe is a 1-year-old Terrier dachshund in Los Angeles , CA, who needs $2,000 for Femur distal epiphyseal fracture.

Los Angeles, CA

Kobe lives with me at my apartment, I adopted him when covid first started from a family that didn’t want him anymore. He’s been part of my family since April 1st 2020. He’s lives a very happy life and is always happy. He’s great with everyone that I introduce him too! He’s a healthy dog who overcomes anything. It’s just Kobe and I in the household, we live in Los Angeles with each other. He’s my only family. His interactions with me are always the best, from jumping in excitement when I walk in the door as if he hasn’t seen me in years to being my snuggle body while we watch movies on the weekends. He’s my best friend. With everything happening in the world and being part time at my job, it’s very hard to be able to pay off all these hospitals bill. I love my dog so much I can’t imagine life without him. I refuse to have him suffer any longer. My dog is an adventurous dog who loves sometimes chews off a bit more than he can bit, he loves going to the park and running around and sometimes tends to get in between bigger dogs legs. Sadly this time he wasn’t as lucky and we didn’t realize til nighttime when he started limping out of nowhere took him to the emergency room to found out he has a fractured femor and tibia. My dog is special because he came into my life at a very dark time, when I was dealing with depression and being alone he’s stood by me always. He’s loving and funny and cute and always knows how to make me happy. He’s the most amazing dog in the world, I really wish It was me instead of him who was in this pain.

Sampson

Sampson was never meant to die alone.

Grandview, TN • Flying Pigs Sanctuary

When Flying Pigs Sanctuary set the trap, they thought Sampson was just another feral cat who needed to be neutered and returned. But the moment they got him into their hands, they knew something wasn't right. He had a large, painful wound on his leg. His body was worn down from years of surviving outside. His eyes told the story of an old soul who had simply run out of strength. Then came the test results. FIV Positive. In that moment, everything changed. Returning Samson to the streets was no longer an option. The funny thing was... he didn't act like a feral cat at all. Whether he had once belonged to someone or whether life on the streets had simply defeated him, Sampson quietly accepted gentle touches. It was as if, after all those years, he had finally decided to trust someone enough to ask for help. Thankfully, one of their incredible volunteers and foster moms fell in love with him and opened her home, her heart, and her wallet. For weeks, she cared for him through painful wound treatments, multiple veterinary visits, surgeries on his leg, endless bandage changes, medications, and countless hours of love and patience. Slowly, the frightened old tomcat transformed into a cherished member of her family. But saving him wasn't cheap. Flying Pigs Animal Sanctuary covered his dental care—about $500. His incredible foster spent over $1,000 of her own money treating his leg and giving him the medical care he desperately needed. This is the side of TNR that most people never see. Sometimes you trap a "feral" cat... and instead you discover a senior who just needed someone to notice he was suffering. Those are the moments that stretch every dollar we have, and we are desperately asking for your help to cover the cost of his medical bills.

Scooter

Scooter is a 4-year-old Hound in Hilliard, FL, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.

Hilliard, FL • Paw Paws Pet Rescue

Scooter is in the animal hospital fighting for his life after likely being attacked by a wild hog. He was discovered barely walking, covered in puncture wounds, with one hideous injury to his neck. When Paw Paws Pet Rescue first saved him, they had no idea what he had been through, but Scooter would not have made it much longer if they didn't race him to the animal hospital. "Scooter was suffering from all sorts of infections and needed emergency attention fast," Michele H., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "The vet team opened up his chest and inserted a tube to alleviate the burden of the air that was not reaching his lungs. His lungs were suffocating, and he could not breathe normally. He was struggling." He needed two different surgeries, and during one, the medical team discovered the "item" that created his worst wound just missed his heart and went past his rib cage. The injury is roughly 5-6 inches deep and suspected to have been caused by a wild boar. Ouch! Scooter's prognosis is good. He is on numerous medications, but he is now walking on his own, and it seems like he wants to win this battle! "He's a sweetheart and very lucky to be alive. Our sweet houndie boy has been through many tests and endless poking but continues to nuzzle in for love and wag his tail," Michele says. Now the rescue has to raise money to pay for all of Scooter's emergency and life-saving care. Please give to help Scooter! "We are so very grateful. If any dog deserves a chance, Scooter does," Michele says. "The next part of his journey is about to begin, and we need your help to get him there."

Cece

Cece is a 4-year-old Mixed Breed in Port Saint Lucie, FL, who needs $2,000 for Cranial Cruciate Ligament Tear Surgery.

port saint lucie, FL

I am a teacher and proud caregiver of two shelter dogs.I was not looking for a second home but took in "Chicken Nugget" to see if she would get along with my other dog. It worked out and "Chicken Nugget" was renamed Cece and became part of the family. Cece has been plagued with allergies and is now in need of Ligament surgery so she can get up and moving again. Cece is the "baby" of the family. She is scared of everything and very timid. She is my therapy, my companion, and the light of my day when I get home teaching. Lately, she has been confined to little or no movement. It breaks my heart that she misses all walks with our other dog. She is the most loving and innocent animal I have ever owned Cece comes to life on walks and romps in our backyard. She is gentle and wouldn't hurt a butterfly. She is curious but reserved and is easily scared of trashbags. She loves baths and snuggles Cece has had ongoing allergies, however, now she is in need of surgery. She is having surger on 10/19/23 at Pet Emergency and Referral Center under the care of Dr. Hanson. She needs her left leg stabilized so that she can be active again. There is a high recovery rate. I want her to have her quality of life back. We have seen three vets and all have said this is what Cece needs to regain activity I am a single mom and first grade teacher with two dogs. The washing machin was just replaced after house flooded. Cece's allergies are an ongoing expense leaving me without funds for this expense

Help Casper Find Relief From Painful Dental Disease

Wakefield, MA • Paws 4 A Cure

Meet Casper, an adorable 8-year-old Siberian Husky from Pennsylvania whose goofy personality and loving heart have made him the center of his mom’s world. But right now, this sweet senior boy is facing painful dental problems that have made it difficult for him to eat, play, and simply enjoy the things he loves. It all started when Casper’s mom noticed something was wrong. He was showing unusual signs of pain and discomfort while eating, and his normally playful personality suddenly changed. He didn’t want to run or play, which was completely out of character for this happy Husky. A veterinary examination revealed swollen gums surrounding one of Casper’s teeth—a concerning sign that he may have an abscess or a fractured tooth. To determine exactly what is happening and treat the problem, Casper needs a sedated oral examination, a complete dental assessment, and the necessary treatment, which may include extraction of the affected tooth. His estimated veterinary bill is $2,595. For now, Casper has been prescribed daily gabapentin to help manage his pain, but medication can only provide temporary relief. The underlying dental problem still needs to be addressed, and Casper is unfortunately not eating consistently. ### Casper’s mom is doing everything she can to get her beloved boy the care he needs. But after recently losing her job while also facing difficult family health news, the cost of his treatment has become overwhelming. Thanks to a generous $200 grant from Paws 4 A Cure and the funds already raised, Casper’s remaining fundraising goal is $1,700. Every donation will help bring Casper closer to receiving the veterinary treatment he desperately needs—and closer to being his goofy, playful, pain-free self again. Casper’s mom says: > “He isn't just a pet; he is my best friend, my safe place, and the heart of my family.” For eight years, Casper has been there for his mom with endless love, comfort, and companionship. Now, he needs his family and a community of caring supporters to be there for him. 🐾 Will you help give Casper the gift of relief? A tax-deductible donation of any size can help Casper get the dental treatment he needs and prevent his painful condition from getting worse. If you can’t donate, sharing his fundraising campaign could help it reach someone who can. Together, we can help this sweet Husky get through this painful chapter and get back to doing what he does best—being his mom’s goofy, loving best friend. 💜 🐾 Paws 4 A Cure Needs Your Help Paws 4 A Cure is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing financial assistance for urgent veterinary care to dogs and cats throughout the United States. The organization receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of compassionate supporters to help families afford lifesaving and essential veterinary treatment. Please consider donating or sharing Casper’s story today. Every act of kindness brings him one step closer to healing.

Three-month-old puppy needs your help after suffering devastating head injuries.

Kewaskum, WI • Pawsitive Sanctuary Inc

\*Trigger warning\* She has only been in this world for three months, yet she's already endured unimaginable cruelty. Someone repeatedly struck this tiny puppy in the head with what veterinarians believe was a heavy metal object, causing catastrophic trauma. The force of the blows were so severe that her eyes were displaced from their sockets. A compassionate local found her and contacted Pawsitive Sanctuary immediately, and they rushed to get her the emergency care she desperately needed. When their rescue team arrived, they weren't sure she would make it. She cried constantly, shook her head in confusion, and struggled to walk, unable to understand the pain she had been forced to endure. Watching such a young puppy fight through that kind of suffering was heartbreaking. Leaving her behind was never an option. Veterinarians believe her injuries are consistent with repeated blows from an object such as a metal pipe. The trauma to her skull is extensive, and she now faces a long, difficult road to recovery. Despite everything she's been through, she's still fighting, and so are her caretakers. As they searched for more information about what happened, they learned that approximately three months ago, another puppy believed to be from the same litter or family died after sustaining nearly identical injuries in the same area. They cannot confirm the cases are connected, but the possibility is frightening. Their team is working closely with local residents to gather information while doing everything possible to save this little girl's life. She has been stabilized, but her journey is only beginning. She will require multiple surgeries to repair the devastating injuries to her head and eyes, followed by extensive medical care and rehabilitation. The cost of treatment will be overwhelming, but they're committed to giving her every chance at the future she deserves. We're asking for your help today. Every dollar, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to funding the surgeries and specialized care she needs to survive and heal. Thank you for standing beside this brave little puppy when she needs compassionate people the most.

Bull

Bull is a 9 year old Jack Russell Terrier in Stony Creek, VA, who needs $2,800 for Perineal Hernia Surgery.

Stony Creek, VA

I have had Bull since he was a puppy. He was with me in college at Virginia Tech (I’d say he’s an honorary VT alumni). He now lives with myself, my husband, our cats, and our big dog Ruby. His best friend is our little gray tabby named Fritz. Bull acquired his name because out of the litter, he ended up being the biggest boy (and was a little chunky as a puppy). His favorite activity is snoozing. Bull is a very healthy 9 year old Jack/Rat Terrier mix. He needs emergency perineal hernia surgery. This surgery can fix the issue, and the vets explained they don’t really know what causes it and it is rare. If Bull didn’t receive the surgery, he would have to be euthanized, despite being healthy. He will be receiving the surgery at the Anicira Veterinary Center. Bull’s favorite activity is sleeping under a blanket. He has never been hyper, which is odd for his breed. He loves his cat brothers and barking at the mailman with our other dog, Ruby. While he does bark at strangers to let them know he could “get them” he can easily be bribed with treats. All of the vets that have ever seen him always talk about how sweet he is. Essentially, he is the best boy. I’m a teacher and my husband recently got a new job. While we have steady income, spending $2,000 is challenging. It wouldn’t be fiscally responsible to open credit with high interest. We also have to drive almost 3 hours for the surgery. I desperately want to help Bull!

Mozart

Mozart is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Naugatuck, CT, who needs $2,000 for ACL & MCL Surgery.

Naugatuck, CT

I adopted Mozart back in November of 2021 and he was just a tiny three month old baby. Mozart has been the light of our lives and has everyday spread joy to us. We are working day in and day out to support our children (the boys, Mozart & his brother Milo) We will always support our boys & take the best care for them. they are our whole entire world and we would be lost without them. Mozart was running in the backyard with his brother Milo when he tore his ACL & MCL. We noticed that he was limping right after he came in from outside and wouldn’t put weight on his back left leg. He tried to walk up our stairs and collapsed on the landing we immediately rushed him to VCA Shoreline to get him care.. he was diagnosed with an ACL & MCL tare. We set him up for Surgery on May 13th Mozart loves to nap, Cuddle with his papa & play outside with his younger brother Milo. Mozart’s favorite toy is his duck & loves to sleep on the bed with us everyday. Mozart loves to play with his herding ball outside & run back and fourth in our backyard everyday.. this has been so hard on him as he can’t do that anymore. He is not himself and it’s hurting us to see My Fiancé and I are both working full time to support the boys and our lives. We have taken out care credit cards in support of all the vet bills that we will be facing but we still can’t get enough for surgery. We will have to take time off work to take care of Mozart
