Maggie May

Maggie May is a 7-year-old Lab mix dog in Byron, GA, who needs $1,809 for urgent leg surgery.

Byron, GA • Critical Care for Animal Angels, Inc.

Critical Care for Animal Angels is trying to help Maggie May stay in her loving home, and they need your generosity! When the group initially saved Maggie, they wondered what terrible things must have happened in her past. She arrived scared to death and with a belly full of puppies. Though her puppies got homes quickly, it took several years for the right home to come along for Maggie. "She needed a single woman to love, protect, and keep her safe," Regenia B., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "Maggie is very leery of strangers and protective of the people she loves." But then, one day, like a miracle, Maggie's person came along! "Maggie was finally adopted and is adored. We are not sure who needed who the most. Was it Maggie or her mama? She loves to go on car rides and new adventures. She was very active until she injured her back leg out playing," Regenia says. Now poor Maggie limps in pain. She needs surgery to repair a ligament in her leg, but Maggie's human mom can't afford it. "Maggie's adopter has had some serious medical bills that cost her a lot of money and time at work," Regenia says. "We try to help our adopters when they need it, but all rescues are struggling this year. Our goal is to keep Maggie with her mother and assist in her needs." Please help Maggie get the surgery she needs this holiday season. "It's sad to see her in so much pain," Regenia says. "She is now on complete crate rest, which she is not very happy about. We hope to have her back up being her funny self soon."

Bitty

Bitty is an 8-year-old Pitbull in Campbell, OH, who needs $2,000 for a mastectomy.

Campbell, OH

Bitty had been wandering around the neighborhood for a while and one day while getting gas she jumped into my car. I knew at that point I needed to save her from the streets. She was so skinny and dirty, hence the name Bitty(itty bitty). After a couple weeks with no one claiming her I decided to keep her because we had already bonded and she wouldn't leave my side. She has separation anxiety! Bitty sleeps next to me in bed, always touching me in case I get up so she will know. She loves to take walks in the park and rides in a car. Provolone cheese is her favorite snack along with summer sausage. She likes to play with the big vacuum when I sweep the floor but when I get the hand held sweeper out she tries to attack it and always turns into a game we play. I am a huge lover of all animals so they are all special to me. Bitty stole my heart the day she picked me when she jumped in my car. I was in a bad car accident a few years ago and she never left my side like she knows I need her emotionally. She is the reason I get up every day and push myself to make sure she is taken care of. I would be lost without her. On 10/25 I told Bitty has breast cancer and will need surgery before it spreads. She was seen at Ebert Animal Hospital by Dr. Hradil. He said she needs surgery as soon as possible in order to have a chance of survival. She is currently not eating or drinking much of anything and I know we are running out of time. I am begging for help to save her! I have not been able to work since my car accident a few years ago. I have applied for disability but that has been a long struggle to get approved. I financially can't pay for her surgery. Bitty means the world to me and I would be lost without her. She needs help please

Cedar

Cedar is a 26-year-old Quarter Horse in West Fulton, NY, who needs $1,250 for Impaction colic.

West Fulton, NY • Mustang Valley Sanctuary Inc 501C3

Cedar is a 26 year old paint horse that helps people overcome trauma. He is kind, sweet and has touched so many lives. He lives at Mustang Valley Sanctuary and helps me rescue wild horses from slaughter. He teaches these unhandled horses that humans can be good. He has successfully helped me rescue and rehome multiple wild horses. Cedar, nickname is C-horse, is a beautiful spirit. Cedar is Alpha of the herd family. Everyone that meets him, humans, dogs, horses, cats goats falls madly in love with his sweet disposition. He protects horses if another one gets aggressive. He will run in and stop the arguing. He has actually protected me from an aggressive human. And he takes care of anyone that gets on his back. He is a once in a lifetime guy. The sanctuary rescues wild horses from the kill pen and Cedar is indispensable as a trainer and companion to these wild horses. He is the Alpha of the herd and keeps the peace. He is our heart and the very reason I started rescuing Cedar fell on the ice over the winter and went down. he could not get back up. Thank god for the round bale that half of his body landed on. We had a lot of snow on the ground and it was freezing. He went hypothermic and his digestion shut down creating a blockage. We had the vet out but could not get him stable or get his temperature back up. So we took him to the hospital. Cedar has a lot of silly things he does. He puts his head on my head, then moves his head back and forth. Forcing my body to move lol. He plays soccer and loves to do tricks. We do yoga on him. Downward dog on upward horse. He will do anything for a treat and eats apples one little bite at a time.

Bodie

Bodie is a 6-year-old Chihuahua in Hudgins, VA, who needs $890 for Enucleation.

Hudgins, VA

Bodie was a gift from my mom after I lost my senior dog. I met the breeder in another state and when he brought him to me he said I hope you have a crate for him he doesn't do well in cars. I took him and he looked at me and wagged his tail and kissed me on the nose. We rode 8 hours home with him snuggled in my lap and he did really well. He became my love and my constant companion. Bodie sleeps with me every night. He loves his big black and white pitbull girlfriend! He's always giving her kisses. Bodie is an unusual Chihuahua. He doesn't bark much and loves everyone. He loves his treats! He still has his puppy demeanor and is such a happy little guy. He will greet everyone at the door with a waggy tail. I'm on a fixed income and I paid everything I had but there is still a balance owing that I need to pay. There was no way I wasn't going to let him have the surgery. He's my baby and my companion and has been registered as my service dog. Bodie was attacked by a dog and I had to ride to the emergency vets with his little eye hanging by a thread. He had to have emergency surgery to remove it. We were lucky Dr. Mancuso the eye specialist was still in the office. He was treated at Animal Eye Care of the Peninsula. She was such a warm caring vet. Bodies favorite thing is to snuggle with me or his pitbull girlfriend. Lol. He has become my service dog as well. We have been through a lot in our time together. As well as traveling from coast to coast. Bodie has been on a train plane bus boat ferry as well as many miles in a car. He talks to me with eyes and eyebrows. He wakes me up whit nose boops and kisses.
