Mia

Mia is a 4-month-old Chiweagle in Georgetown, TX, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis, Antibiotic Treatment, Nutritional Intervention.

Georgetown, TX

Mia was a sweet rescue from a family that decided they didn’t want to mess with puppies after 4 weeks. She was way too young to be weaned, had a huge belly full of GIANT tapeworms, and a skin infection. But she was precious! And my daughter just had to rescue her. Mia didn’t get the best start in life, but it didn’t dampen her spirit! In 20 years of rescuing over a hundred dogs, I’ve never met such a little ball of love and excitement! She adores everyone- people, puppies, anyone who will give her love. She loves to cuddle, and also loves to play. And toe kisses! Goodness, she loves to kiss your toes! Mia is a natural athlete and bonded instantly with my Junior Olympic gymnast. She’s fiercely playful and fiercely cuddly, despite her current fever and health struggles. Nothing can keep this sweetheart from her people! What began as a few spots has rapidly worsened, she is so thin her skin wrinkles, & she has a fever. She was treated with an antibiotic at Emancipet, & been treated extensively for mange, which was ruled out.. Her severe worm infestation as such a young pup created immune challenges. She keeps passing the infection to our other furballs, but they heal quickly with topical treatment & she worsens. She & her adoptive siblings need to be seen at a full service vet in order to save her life and keep her siblings from reinfecting her. Finances are limited since my horseback accident, and we don’t want to lose such a sweetheart because of finances- the world needs Mia!

Arya

Arya is a 7-year-old Red Heeler in Westinster, CO, who needs $1,450 for Survey Radiographs ( x-ray ), Ultrasound, GI Panel, Parasite Test.

Westinster, CO

We have two dogs, Max and Arya. Max is lively and boisterous. Arya, however, is sweet and reserved. Strangely, Arya was our neighbor's dog, so we only just met her this year. About two months ago the neighbor asked if we wanted to take her, as she was A) moving to New York, and B) Arya was declining in health due to presumed depression. We took her hoping children and a companion dog would help. Arya is the most gentle, peaceful, and calm dog. She is always ready to give kisses and love to the whole family. She loves to plop herself right in the middle of whatever is going on and observes like a little wall flower. She lets my 10-month-old Rowan cuddle with her. I feel deeply connected to her, and swear that we have an unspoken bond and understanding. She sleeps right next to my bedside Arya is very quiet and dainty but uses this to her advantage. She is, quite unexpectedly, a pretty big social butterfly. She will quietly sneak away if we are playing fetch in the front yard. She then enjoys some great little solo adventures, meeting many neighbors along the way (as we frantically look around for her) We usually look for wherever there are people, and she will be right there! Arya continues to rapidly lose weight dropping 20 pounds since December. She eats a lot but doesn't gain. She has also incurred a bacterial skin infection (presumably). Today, we did X-Rays and blood work. She was prescribed antibiotics and steroids, but they are worried it could be cancer or heart disease. Next urgent steps: to get an ultrasound, a GI Panel, and a parasite test. This last year I have been a stay-at-home mom, so we have been relying on only one income with family of four + three fur babies. We also incurred some pretty hefty expenses for the funeral of my boyfriend's father. The unexpected costs are a large obstacle for our family.

Missy

Missy is a 4-year-old Chihuahua/Whippet Mix in Mukilteo, WA, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to Repair Ulna and Radius.

Mukilteo, WA

I inherited my Missy after my mom passed away in October 2020. She meant absolutely everything to my mom and I promised myself and Missy that I will maintain her health and well-being as well as my mom did. Missy lives with me, my other pup Noah, my daughter and myself. We love our dogs so much and hope to find a way to help repair Missy’s hurt leg. Missy makes loving fun. She loves to burrow in her dog bed underneath her favorite blanket. I’m the morning’s we take our walk where she like the bark at the ducks near the pond. At home we love to play fetch. But Missy and my daughter have their most fun when they both are in bed and play a paw/hand tag game. She has such a fun personality and is never not wagging her tail. One thing Missy does daily is chase her tail. She is always sharp as nails when it comes to everything she does on a daily basis but for some reason cannot understand her tail and why she can’t grab it. Since she fractured her arm, she has still tried to make the most out of life. But truthfully, I really hope she gets to chase her tail again soon. Missy had an emergency accident requiring emergency assistance which we didn’t receive until a few days after the incident. She broke her arm. I took her to the veterinary hospital to get information resulting that Missy has a fractured Ulna and Radius. The doctor sent me a surgical estimate from a local animal surgeon in the amount raging from $5500-$7500. This is why I am requesting help. My income has lowered significantly and I have no emergency funds to help with this. All I want is to get Missy the help she needs. So she can chew her favorite bone and chase her tail again. It means everything to get her this procedure.

Abandoned on the Side of the Road: Help This Mom And 12 Kittens Get the Care They Desperately Need

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

On the side of a busy road, a frightened group of cats was found running through traffic, vulnerable to cars, predators, disease, and starvation. When the local Animal Control department responded, they discovered a heartbreaking scene: one adult mother cat and twelve tiny black kittens struggling to survive on their own. Our rescue immediately stepped in, knowing these cats had nowhere else to go. The kittens are incredibly young and fragile, ranging from less than half a pound to only 1.5 pounds. Many arrived with eye infections and other medical concerns that require immediate treatment. Based on the kittens' varying ages and weights, we believe there may have originally been more than one mother caring for them, but only one adult cat was found with the group. Since arriving in rescue, the kittens have already required extensive care. Two of the smallest kittens, Peanut and Pecan, recently returned to the veterinarian for additional treatment after continuing to struggle with eye issues and intestinal parasites. More comprehensive fecal testing revealed that their first round of deworming was not enough, and all twelve kittens will need multiple rounds of treatment to fully eliminate the parasites affecting their health. Right now, our team is providing around-the-clock care, nutritious food, clean bedding, litter, medications, and veterinary attention to help these little ones recover and grow. But caring for thirteen cats is a tremendous undertaking. In the coming weeks and months, every cat in this group will need: • Veterinary examinations and ongoing medical treatment • Multiple rounds of deworming and parasite prevention • Treatment for eye infections and related complications • Vaccinations • FeLV/FIV testing • Spay and neuter surgeries • Nutritious food, litter, and daily care supplies These cats were abandoned through no fault of their own. They deserved safety, love, and proper care from the beginning. Instead, they were left to fend for themselves beside a busy roadway. With your help, their story can have a much happier ending. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps provide lifesaving veterinary care, food, medications, testing, and supplies for this vulnerable family. Together, we can give these thirteen cats the chance to grow up healthy, safe, and loved. Thank you for helping us turn abandonment into hope. 7/14/26 Update: Update on our Mom and 12 kittens Wow! It’s been busy here at Paws 4 Life taking care of this big family! All our our volunteers worked tirelessly keeping all these kittens alive and healthy. We had to continue supplement feeding them with KMR, multiple vet visit, multiple extensive diarrhea panels, multiple rounds of deworming treatments and antibiotics, but we are finally at a good and stable place with all of them. All the older kittens have gotten fixed and most of them only have one more feline distemper vaccine to get (in their 3 round series). We have 2 more kittens left to fix and then we will be working hard at finding them the right forever homes. It’s amazing as to how much they love each other - we always find them all together in a huge kitten pile regardless of how much room them have to spread out. Our goal is to adopt them in pairs as they truly do love each other and we want to do what is best for them. Thank you everyone who has donated and shared their story. Their lives did not start out good, but things have turned around for them and they will only have good things from this point forward. 8/1/26 Update Our “Nuts” kittens are all ready for adoption! All have made significant strides since we took them into our care back in April. All have been fixed, fully vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV/Heartworm, microchipped and dewormed. They are all so friendly and we can’t wait for them to find their forever homes so that they can begin the next chapters of their lives.

Sadie

Sadie is a 11-year-old Blue Tick Coonhound in Brick, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Surgery - Breast Tumor Removal.

Brick, NJ

Sadie was a breeder dog in North Carolina. As she was getting older and outliving her usefulness, the breeder was going to end her life.she was rescued and brought up to New Jersey with other dogs. All the other dogs were adopted, leaving her alone I couldn’t just leave her there, so I decided to rescue her. Her surgery is scheduled for 11/16/23 Sadie has adjusted well to her new life, and her two new furry sisters. All my dogs are crate, trained and sleep in the same room. She loves exploring the yard and going for a walks, as well as adventures, visiting the neighbors, and going to the beach. Her tail wags all the time! After surgery Sadie will receive training to be a therapy canine Sadie is certainly a hunter! She tracks all kinds of things in the yard sometime circling trees, and even trying to climb them! She has an awesome walk and prances throughout. She has plenty of spirit to learn and please. I rescued Sadie knowing she had medial issues researching many places, I found Vogel veterinary clinic at Monmouth County ASPCA. Sadie has a large tumor in her mammary gland. It Hass to be removed as it is now splitting open, which can cause a bacterial infection on top of it. As of 11/11/23 bloodwork is normal. Surgery is scheduled for 11/16 /23. When I rescued Sadie, I knew she had medical issues.I wanted to get her out of that situation and into a safe loving environment, where she could finally be a dog, play with other dogs and be happy. I was not expecting the surgery to be $2000.Sadie has unlimited potential
