Valor and Vesta

Two Survivors. One Long Road to Recovery.

Harrisburg, PA • Castaway Critters, The James A. Hueholt Memorial Foundation for Animals

These two gentle cats were pulled from a devastating house fire after being found severely burned and suffering from smoke inhalation. No owner ever came for them. It’s believed they came from a hoarding situation, and tragically, they may be the only cats who made it out alive. Now safe with Castaway Critters, Valor & Vesta are beginning a long and painful road to recovery. Portions of their bodies are badly burned and wrapped in bandages. They require intensive pain management, frequent dressing changes, special creams, eye medications, clean air support, and specialized litter to reduce the risk of infection. It’s quite the undertaking, but Castaway Critters is committed to getting these two back to health. Through everything they’ve endured, they remain completely gentle and trusting, and will one day thrive in a loving home. One even shows signs of having had multiple litters before this tragedy. It’s clear life was not kind to them long before the fire. Their care will be extensive and costly, but they finally have a team determined to fight for them every step of the way. Castaway Critters is asking for help to cover ongoing medical treatment, supplies, medications, and follow-up care so these two warriors can heal safely and finally know love. With your help, Valor and Vesta can finally know the life they’ve always deserved.

Tom's Painful Infected Claw Requires Emergency Surgery

West Palm Beach, FL • Adopt A Cat Foundation

Tom has spent far too much of his life simply trying to survive. As a senior cat living in an outdoor colony, Tom depended on the kindness of a dedicated caretaker who made sure he had food and looked after him. When that caretaker passed away, Tom's future became uncertain. Thankfully, Adopt a Cat Foundation stepped in and brought him to safety. Since his rescue, we've learned that years of life outdoors took a toll on Tom's health. One of his ongoing struggles has been with his claws, which have become unusually thick and overgrown. Despite regular veterinary care, his claws have continued to cause discomfort and require close monitoring. Recently, Tom developed a painful infection in one of his dew claws. The claw had become severely damaged and infected, leaving him uncomfortable and at risk for worsening complications. After evaluating Tom, his veterinarian determined that the best course of action is surgical removal of the affected claw. Today, Tom is at the veterinary hospital undergoing this procedure. As a senior cat, Tom deserves to spend his golden years free from pain. We are committed to giving him the medical care he needs, but the costs are adding up. Since coming into our care, Tom has already required multiple veterinary visits, examinations, treatments, and ongoing monitoring. Now this unexpected surgery has created another significant expense for our small rescue. Adopt a Cat Foundation cares for many cats with nowhere else to turn, and every medical case stretches our resources further. Still, when a cat like Tom needs help, saying no is never an option. Tom is worth every effort, every appointment, and every dollar spent to keep him healthy and comfortable. Your donation will help cover the cost of Tom's surgery, veterinary care, medications, and follow-up treatment so he can recover comfortably and continue enjoying the safe, loving life he waited so long to find. Please consider making a gift today to help Tom heal. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference for a senior cat who finally has people fighting for him. 8/8/26 Update Sweet senior Tom has had another unexpected health challenge, but we finally have some answers—and thankfully, he is already feeling better! Tom recently returned to the veterinarian to have an abscess on his leg treated. While he was there, his veterinary team also investigated some other symptoms he had been experiencing. Bloodwork revealed that Tom is diabetic. His diabetes may help explain some of the changes we’ve been seeing in his coat and nails, including his dry, flaky skin and unhealthy-looking claws. With the right treatment and monitoring, however, Tom is already showing encouraging improvement. Tom has started insulin therapy, and his caregivers have noticed that he has perked up and is acting more like himself. Even better, his skin is no longer flaky! After spending so many years surviving outdoors, Tom deserves the chance to finally feel comfortable and healthy. His care will now include ongoing insulin, veterinary monitoring, and treatment for his other medical needs. 💜 Please consider donating to help cover Tom’s ongoing veterinary care and diabetes treatment. Every gift helps Adopt a Cat Foundation continue giving this sweet senior the care he needs to enjoy his safe, loving life. Tom has come so far—and we're thrilled to see him feeling better! 🐾

OLI

OLI is a 6-year-old Lab in Carbondale, CO, who needs $2,000 for Radiation.

Carbondale, CO

OLI is named after "Out Living It". Out Living It is program that OLI's dad, Spencer, holds closely to his heart after cancer recovery. OLI was taken into Spencer's arms shortly after being in remission and is the biggest blessing we could ever imagine. Fast forward 6.5 years later, OLI is now diagnosed which adenocarcinoma which is a type of cancer. OLI is Spencer and Colleen's child. He is part of the family and goes where ever his humans may go. Luckily, he gets to go to work everyday with Spencer. When he's not at work, OLI loves to hike mountains, swim in lakes, go to the dog park and play with his friends, and share snacks with his humans. Waking up to OLIs dinosaur-like yawn every morning is our favorite way to wake up. Everything he does is special to us. We look at him and he puts a smile on our face even if he's just sleeping on the couch or out chasing the sprinklers. He is the sweetest boy and knows exactly how your feeling and will make sure you are okay. We have been traveling back and forth 5 hour drives to CSU for the diagnosis and continue treatment for OLIs cancer. We have had to stay at hotels and drive treacherous drives on I70 to save and treat our fur baby. OLI has been having nosebleeds for almost a year now and this will be his third (and luckily FINAL) opinion for diagnosis/ treatment. OLI has a tumor in his nose which is cancerous. This has been an ongoing financial burden for us for the past year of misdiagnoses, traveling all around the state and staying in hotels just to seek appointments, biopsy, CT Scan, further radiation and cancer treatment. This will mean so much to our family from you,

Floyd

Help Floyd See a Future Without Pain

Johnston, RI • Heavenlee's Rescue

After the owner of a hoarding house passed away, Floyd was discovered living among far too many animals in conditions where proper veterinary care had been absent for years. Like so many animals rescued from hoarding situations, he had been quietly suffering without anyone to advocate for him. Today, the neglect he endured is painfully visible. Behind his damaged eyes is a sweet cat who has lived with severe, untreated eye disease for more than four years. The pain and discomfort he experiences every day are difficult to imagine, yet Floyd remains gentle and trusting despite everything he has been through. His condition has become so advanced that he urgently needs evaluation by a veterinary ophthalmology specialist. While we won't know the full extent of treatment needed until his appointment, it is very likely that one or both of his eyes will need to be removed to finally relieve his suffering and give him the chance to live without constant pain. As a small rescue, we are committed to helping Floyd, but the cost of specialized veterinary care is significant. We cannot turn our backs on him now—not after he has spent so much of his life waiting for someone to help. Please consider making a donation and sharing Floyd's campaign. Together, we can give this sweet boy the comfort, care, and second chance he has waited so long to receive. 6/24/26 Update Tomorrow is Floyd’s appointment with the veterinary ophthalmologist, and while we are holding onto hope, we are preparing ourselves for the very real possibility that both of his eyes may need to be removed. This is especially heartbreaking because Floyd’s condition could have been prevented with timely veterinary care. Instead, he endured years of severe neglect, leaving him in constant pain and discomfort. As a result, this sweet, gentle boy may lose his vision completely. Despite everything he has suffered, Floyd remains loving and trusting. Yet it is impossible not to see how much this ordeal has affected him. He is uncomfortable, withdrawn, and clearly struggling. No animal should have to endure the level of suffering that Floyd has experienced. We urgently need to get Floyd to his specialist appointment and provide the surgery and treatment he desperately needs. We are humbly asking for your compassion and support during this critical time. Every donation, share, and kind thought helps bring Floyd one step closer to a life free from pain. Thank you for caring about Floyd and for helping us give him the future he deserves. 6/26/26 Update: Floyd suffering more than we knew Hi, friends. Yesterday, Floyd was seen by veterinary ophthalmologist Dr. Binder. It was an incredibly difficult examination because he is in so much pain. The team struggled to administer eye drops, and for his safety, he had to be gently but securely wrapped so they could complete the exam. The news is heartbreaking. Floyd is completely blind. After enduring four years of untreated eye disease and neglect, both of his eyes must be surgically removed to finally free him from the constant pain he has been living with. In addition, he is in desperate need of extensive dental work, as his mouth is in very poor condition. It is devastating to think that Floyd lived like this for years, suffering every single day without receiving the medical care he so desperately needed. No animal should have to endure that kind of pain. We are committed to giving Floyd the chance at a life free from suffering, but we cannot do it without your help. His surgeries and ongoing medical care are significant, and every donation, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to the comfort and quality of life he deserves. Please continue to support Floyd's journey. He needs us now more than ever. Thank you for standing with him and giving him hope. 7/1/26 Update Hi, friends. First, we want to thank every single person who has been praying for Floyd, sharing his story, and supporting his journey. Your kindness means more than you know. Today, Floyd returned to the animal hospital to see his veterinarian. While we can't remember the exact medical name of one of his newly diagnosed conditions, we can tell you what the doctors found. This precious boy has been living with unimaginable pain for years. Despite everything he has endured, he continues to show us just how resilient and loving he is. There is a possibility that Floyd still has a small amount of vision in one eye, but he is in so much pain that it is nearly impossible to administer his eye medications. After examining him, it is the overwhelming feeling of both the veterinary team and the experienced rescuer caring for him that removing both of his severely damaged eyes is the kindest and most compassionate option. Our hearts break knowing how long he has suffered, but we are hopeful that this surgery will finally bring him the comfort he has been denied for so many years. We also believed Floyd would need extensive dental work, but the examination revealed something even more concerning. He has painful sores throughout his mouth eating at it, including on the roof of his mouth, caused by a serious inflammatory condition. These lesions have undoubtedly been another source of constant pain. He has now begun treatment and will require a lifelong monthly injection to help keep this condition under control and improve his quality of life. In just a few days, Floyd will undergo his eye surgery, and after that, his medical needs will continue to be addressed one step at a time. He has a long road ahead, but for the first time in years, there is hope that his pain can finally be relieved. Please don't forget about Floyd. His medical care is extensive, and every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue giving him the treatment he desperately needs. If you are able, please consider making a donation, sharing his story, or keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for standing beside Floyd and giving this sweet boy the chance to finally know a life without constant pain. ❤️ 7/2/26 Update: Medical Update urgent pls donate A Medical Update on Sweet Floyd Hi, friends. Arthur

Arthur Survived the Streets. Now He Needs Surgery to Save His Future.

Maryland, MD • Paws & Claws Animal Welfare Society Inc.

Arthur is only one year old, but he has already experienced more cruelty than any animal ever should. This stunning young Persian cat was abandoned on the streets of Egypt, where life for a defenseless pet can be unimaginably harsh. Instead of finding kindness, Arthur became the victim of abuse. By the time rescuers found him, he was suffering from devastating injuries that left him in constant pain. Arthur has a broken jaw that makes it difficult and painful for him to eat, and one of his eyes has been so severely damaged that it has ruptured. Both injuries require surgery to relieve his pain and give him the chance to heal. Despite everything he has endured, Arthur has never stopped trusting people. He greets his caregivers with gentle affection, leans into every pet, and purrs as though he still believes that humans can be kind. His sweet personality shines through every moment, reminding everyone who meets him that his spirit remains unbroken, even though his body has suffered so much. Arthur deserves more than survival. He deserves to eat without pain, to recover from his injuries, and to experience what every young cat should know—a safe home filled with love instead of fear. Arthur has already endured abandonment, abuse, and unimaginable suffering. Now he has a chance to leave that painful past behind, but he cannot do it without your help. Please consider making a donation today. Every gift, no matter the size, brings Arthur one step closer to a life where he can eat comfortably, heal completely, and finally discover what it means to be cherished. If you are unable to donate, sharing Arthur's story is another powerful way to help. Together, we can give this beautiful young cat the second chance he has always deserved.

Transport Van

The Road to Safety Depends on This Van- Help Keep Lifesaving Transports on the Road

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Before sunrise, volunteers with One by One Animal Advocates load dogs and cats into their transport van, each one beginning a journey toward a second chance. Some are leaving overcrowded shelters where time has run out. Others are traveling to foster homes, rescue partners, or adopters waiting to welcome them into loving families. Many have never known kindness before that moment. For these animals, this isn't just a ride. It's the trip that saves their lives. Since June 2024, this single transport van has become one of the rescue's most valuable tools. Nearly every Saturday, volunteers drive more than 600 miles across West Virginia and Maryland, spending up to 14 hours on the road coordinating lifesaving rescue transports. During the week, the van continues making trips to Cincinnati, Akron, and Youngstown to bring vulnerable animals to safety. In just two years, the van has traveled an incredible 110,000 miles helping save countless dogs and cats. But after so many miles spent serving animals in need, the van itself now needs help. During the most recent transport, the driver noticed the van becoming difficult to control around curves. A mechanical inspection revealed serious repairs are urgently needed, including a replacement rear differential, transfer case repairs, and new brakes. Without these repairs, the van cannot safely continue the lifesaving journeys that so many animals depend on. Every day the van is off the road means animals waiting longer for rescue, longer for medical care, longer for foster homes—and in some cases, losing the opportunity for a second chance altogether. Your donation today won't simply repair a vehicle. It will help keep lifesaving transports moving. It will help frightened shelter pets reach the rescues that said "yes. It will help sick and injured animals get to the veterinary care they desperately need. It will help families meet the pets they've been waiting to adopt. Every mile this van travels represents another life changed forever. Please consider making a donation today to help One by One Animal Advocates complete these critical repairs and keep hope rolling down the highway for the animals who have nowhere else to turn. Because sometimes, the road to a forever home begins with a rescue van—and compassionate people like you who keep it moving.

Kissy

Kissy is a 18 year old Japanese Bobtail in Atlanta, GA, who needs $1,000 for X-ray, Biopsy, Blood Work, Surgery, Tooth Removal.

Atlanta, GA

Kissy, short for (吉祥) Kisshō and meaning lucky omen, was born into our family on St. Patrick's Day 2006. The daughter to my mother's kitty Lita, who just showed up one day and decided she would be moving in. Oh and btw I'm pregnant, surprise! And surprise it was because my little kissy was the beautiful blessing, my lucky kitty that came from that wonderful day. My kissy has a lump growing on her belly the vets at Banfield say $300 just to find out what it is then $500+ for removal options. Due to age she also has some bad teeth that need removal, depending on difficulty the range goes over $1000. I love my baby with all my heart and she is still strong and full of love. Given treatment she could live many more happy years with her family. My kissy is the sweetest baby. She adores snuggles on my lap and lounging in one of her many fine beds. My wife and I are blessed to call her and her daughter Dora family.(named for being the first kitten to leave her birthplace and explore the rest of the house) she has been with us since the day she was born and I simply don't have the words to explain how much I love her and need to help her. She needs help sooner rather than later and I can't afford everything all at once. I've reached out to agree to a payment plan I can even prove consistent income. But no one will help her without payment up front. She can't wait 2-3 months for me to save up the money.
