Koa

Koa is a 1 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Steilacoom, WA, who needs $2,000 for CCL/ACL Surgery Left Rear Leg.

January 1st 2024 i got Koa as a gift. He is one of 7 and the last one available. He 9 weeks old, with the most amazing eyes and grey coat. He instantly stole our hearts. We have a house with a fenced back yard for him to run. His parents are both social butterflies like he is. The vets told us he was in great condition, and didnt even flintch for shots. Koas injury came from walking. We had been having a bit of snow flurries, and alot of ice. We were crossing a parking lot and he slid on a patch of ice, doing doggie splits the hard way. Shortly after it was evident he had injured himself. Xrays have confirmed he has a torn ccl in his left leg as well as an ortho surgeon. The vet hospital is Bluepearl pet hospital Koa is not only a pet, but a family member. He is a part of the team at work and has broken many of the stereotypes his breed is "associated" with. He loves everyone and doesnt have a mean bone in his body. He is a social butterfly at doggy daycare when he could go before his injury. If you are having a hard day he knows and will be your lap buddy until he knows you are better. Even to coworkers Koa has a vet and is well taken care of, however his accident was unexpected and requires surgery. I am a single mom and do not have the finances to cover his surgery costs. I do not qualify for carecredit. I and Koa will be forever grateful to be able to be a pup again.

Scruffy

Scruffy is a 8 month old Yorkshire Terrier in Bath, , who needs $2,000 for Teeth Extraction, Bump on Head Examined.

I adopted scruffy from Mississippi. He was a homeless dog, and didn't know much of being a dog. Now hes the bestest boy, and is well trained. He loves to cuddle, play with my kids, and eat snacks! When i got scruffy, he had heart worms. I got those treated, and he was given a clean bill of health in 2022. I don't know much about his life before being with us, besides that he needed extra love and attention. Scruffy came to me with pretty bad teeth, he was very skinny, and in poor condition. I got him up to pair with his weight, and his health is over all- pretty good! He needs teeth extractions, and a bump on his head looked at. I am a single mom with 2 kids. I work as hard as i can to make ends meet. Scruffy needing this amount of vet care ( teeth removal) is a huge financial struggle to our family. We are happy to have any donations made directly to the vets office.

Fluffy

Fluffy is a 9 month old Chihuahua in Groton, CT, who needs $2,000 for Artificial Hip Surgery.

Fluffy lives in a townhouse style apartment. He is an indoor puppy. We have stairs with a rubbery covering to prevent slipping. I brought my nephews dog, his mother to my home so she could have the puppies here, so he's been with us since May 27, 2024. Mid January Fluffy developed a limp on his back right leg out of nowhere. After no improvement I took him to the vet. He had his first set of xrays and they weren't positive what was going on. They. Had me return 4 weeks later. The vet said he needs an artificial hip. This seems to be genetic. The vet assured me his other side looks fine and this doesn't seem to be cancerous. Fluffy is the absolute perfect emotional support animal. He is very calm and more of a "lap dog." He is my support animal. I was in a bad accident and also had other SA and DV situations. He definitely keeps my mind off of things. If I start to worry, he notices and lays on my lap. Most recently, he started doing well in the car, so he helps me not get anxious in the car. I am a single mother with inconsistent child support. I have been on disability since 2012 due to mulitple back surgeries, and I still need more. Fluffy's surgery is very expensive and unexpected. I have paid over 1500 so far on 2 sets of xrays and medicine.

Gigi

Gigi is a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Middleboro , MA, who needs $2,000 for ACL Surgery.

We got Gigi as a present for Christmas a few years ago for the whole family which was myself, husband, daughter and cat at the time. We just added another daughter to the family that Gigi is great with. I had wanted a boy dog but saw her and had to have her. Gigi is best friends with our cat Dash and they have always gotten along great. In November we brought her to urgent care due to her limping and they said her knee was swollen but did not do X-rays.. She’s taken pain medications but she continued to limp so she went to our home town vet and got X-rays that show degenerative changes and most likely acl tears in both hind legs. We will be going to cape cod veterinary specialists for surgery. Gigi is special to us because she’s always been a great dog. She learned and has always listened so well. She gets along great with everyone even other dogs. She will bark whenever people come to the house but always submits and just wants love from everyone. At the dog park she would get along with all dogs big and small. We currently have a 1 month old baby and money is tight. We will be able to get care credit but unsure if it will cover the full cost. Any help is greatly appreciated.

When my little brother was 15 he went and got Tuxy she was 6 weeks old. But ever since she was brought home I was the one to feed an water her because he was never home. My brother named her because he said she looked like she had a tuxedo on so she became Tuxy. She’s such an amazing dog and vary vary protective of my two daughters, nothing will ever hurt my daughters. Awhile back I had to go out of state for work, Tuxy had gotten a severe case of fleas and lost all her fur I was gone for 8 months but by the time I got back I was laid off so I need to get her skin condition fixed and spayed and a get her dipped her nails trimmed and get her all her shots, since I got laid off it’s been rough just living but I want my daughters protection back to her old self Tuxy is good with all the family but there’s just something about my daughters that if she thinks something is about to hurt my daughters Tuxy will get in front of them, Tuxy would sacrifice herself to keep my daughters safe and for her to just be like that is so amazing we never trained her to be that way she done it on her own so I need her around as long as possible it’s hard on a single father I got laid off and things are pretty bad I have my daughters full time and there mom could care less so no help from her, with it just being me and my daughters if my daughters want to go outside they take Tuxy bc I know she won’t let nothing hurt my girls so I need Tuxy

PT

PT is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Akron, OH, who needs $1,200 for Vaccinations, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Meds, and Blood Work.

PT is my baby boy. He is a Bullboxer-pitt. His mom was a rescue dog that I got on Craigslist. The owner was trying to make her fight and she refused. So his wife put her on line one morning and I happened to be the lucky one who got her. She passed away from complications with the birth of PT and his 10 brothers and sisters. He was the one with the best personality so he became my best friend. I actually have 2 dogs. PT since birth and St'R for 5 years now. He is a rescue too. PT is 8 and St'R is 10. They have always went to Memorial Animal Hospital in Kent every 6 months. There has been a few emergencies as well. They always get the full work up and vaccinated and flea tick and heartworm meds. Until 2024. In January of 2024 I had a heart attack that put me out of work all year. I was forced to sell my work truck to keep up with daily life and bills. The vet had to wait. I'm scared because they need their vaccinations and heartworm chewable. It is not possible right now and times are tough at the moment. PT needs his shots because he has Lymes Disease enzymes present. Lately he has developed heavy rapid breathing and I'm so afraid something is wrong. I'm back to work but so far in debt I just can't find any extra money for the vet. We need a new vehicle and between the bills the house and utilities we scrape by every month. Barely. I want to make sure my dogs are healthy and get their shots. They are literally my world.

Ryder

February 16th, 2019. it was love at first sight! weighing all of maybe 1 pound Ryder, was the cutest puppy I had ever seen! it had been a hard couple of years, and depression had taken over my life. I felt like I needed a purpose I needed something to get me up out of bed every day. then came Ryder. it was like he cured me! all my sadness me feeling so alone, was gone! I was actually happy again! October 19th, 2024. The worst day ever. Ryder was attacked by two huge bulldogs! if it wasn't for me getting in the middle of these two 80-pound dogs and my 10-pound Ryder, he would not be here with me today. I rushed him to the emergency vet with every penny to my name I was only able to afford the stiches needed to close up his chest. he was left with a fractured front leg. Ryder has the most amazing personality. he steals everyone's heart that he meets he never leaves my side! the last 6 years have been nothing less than a nightmare. from escaping a very abusive relationship, being homeless and then watching my new boyfriend/best friend die from a heart attack, Ryder has been right there to lick my tears threw it all. I don't know what I'd do without him. being a survivor of domestic violence, I'm still trying to get back on my feet but with the injury to my hand from the dogs that attacked Ryder and now being diagnosed with "drop wrist" I can't work and have no income. Ryders leg is still broken and needs dental work ASAP

Samson

Samson was gifted to me as a rescue puppy. I was supposed to do the rescuing. He did a fantastic job rescuing me! He's a wonderful champion and friend. He is very loving and truly a gentle giant! He is working on becoming a service dog. He will resume, when his health permits. He has been a foster father to many rescue animals in the past. IT IS TRULY HIS TURN TO BE RESCUED! Three weeks ago, Samson was examined by Harmon Heights Veterinarian Hospital in Yadkinville, N.C. They said his mouth couldn't be examined to the fullest extent at that time. They prescribed him antibiotics. He needs to been under anesthesia for another exam. The examining veterinarian said he needed his teeth cleaned at minimum. After his visit. I examined his mouth a his tongue is infected. Samson has a favorite friend, Miss. Callie my recently deceased fathers long haired calico cat. He guards and protects her as he does me. He walks and navigates local water falls, in our area, like a mountain goat. He has since he was a tiny puppy. He has accompanied me on many walks. Stayed buy my side when others haven't. He has taught me much about life. Samson' s love is truly unconditional! In 2017 a job site accident changed Samson and I's life forever. We lost a wife, mother, and friend due to the accident. A long with the use of my upper right extremities. Thankfully I can still walk with Samson. He really enjoys that. Samson is truly a blessing, please help

Jasmine

My sweet Jasmine came into my life 5.5 years ago as a rescue, along with her housemate Sebastian. They had been living for years with a couple, but the wife had recently passed away from cancer. The husband tried to keep them by himself for 9 months after her passing, and then gave them to my brother, who gave them both to me. My daughter took in Sebastian and I kept Jasmine. Jasmine and I have an active lifestyle together. I try to feed and care for her so she's healthy. Six days ago, she got into a package of Brazil nuts and probably ate a cup of them. That made her vomit a lot of chunks of nuts. I took her to Family Pet Care with Dr. Anderson the next day. He did emergency stomach surgery to remove the sharp nut pieces that were cutting her stomach and not passing. I have had pet birds for a very long time, and wasn't expecting to take in a dog. But, Jasmine despaerately needed a home, and I have come to depend on her as much as she depends on me. We're just coming out of a very cold winter and we're looking forward to walks and warmer weather for summer activities, like chasing cats, rabbits and squirrels. Jasmine, the birds and I are living on my Social Security income, which is barely enough to get by. This emergency surgery will bring a huge financial hardship to us. I would very much appreciate any help to get this bill paid. I'm glad I choose life for Jasmine.
