Gizmo

Gizmo is a 4 month old Great Pyrenees in Triangle, VA, who needs $2,000 for Ductal Occluder Procedure.

Triangle, VA

Gizmo was born in November 2024 and lived on a farm with his mom and siblings until January 2025 when he came into our life. He joined our family which now consists of my husband, 15 year old son, 4 year old female Shepard/ Pyrenees Rogue and myself. He also has Daily visits from our two nieces 4 and 6 that I watch. At Gizmo’s 1st vet appointment with us, at 10 weeks, it was discovered he has a grade two heart murmur, we watched it for three weeks with no improvements so we took him to the cardiologist at CVCA in Fairfax Virginia where he received an Echocardiogram confirming he has PDA or Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) with left to right shunting which needs surgical repair. Gizmo is the sweetest silliest puppy I have ever had. He bounces around like he has no cares in the world but due to the PDA he plays puppy hard for as bout 20-30 minutes than has to rest and sleeps for an hour or two. He love trying to puppy hug the humans from behind not realizing how big he is. Gizmo also like to talk and tell us what he wants he is so vocal with his moans, yelps and barks. This surgery and recovery is an unexpected expense that can not be passed over or postponed, It truly will save Gizmo’s life. It would not only break the hearts of us humans in Gizmo’s life but I believe it would devastate his puppy sister Rogue they are inseparable.

Princess

Princess is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Milwaukee, WI, who needs $2,000 for Princess Right leg Surgery- TPLO/MPL.

MILWAUKEE

Princess came into my life on August 5, 2018, when she was just two months old. I got her through a friend of my niece's. I was suffering from severe depression, and as part of my treatment, my therapist recommended getting a dog. I never thought Princess would change my life. Since that day, I've taken care of Princess. I take her everywhere with me. Princess is currently limping on her right leg and can no longer place her paw on the floor. Medications, therapies and massages no longer help her. She has a right cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) tear and medial patellar luxation (MPL). She will have the surgery with Dr. Berg at Midwest Veterinary Specialists. In 2021, Dr. Berg performed the same surgery on her left leg and it was a success. Princess likes shopping. Her favorite store is the Dollar Tree. She likes going to the dog park, eating ice cream, apples, and going for walks in the car. She likes eating chicken. She's afraid of the dark. Since she can't walk properly now I bought her a dog stroller so she can continue enjoying our daily walks and she loves it! I really love my lil baby with all my heart. In recent months, I've had to take Princess to the vet several times for various reasons, and right now I don't have the funds to cover her surgery. We're also experiencing unstable housing. All the bad things have happened to Princess and me at the same time.

Punkie

Punkie is a 11 year old American Shorthair in Las Vegas, NV, who needs $2,000 for Bone Marrow Diagnostic Test (Anemia).

Las Vegas, NV

Punkie and her sister (Mittens) came to me from my brother and his ex cats. Punkie is my "Bad Girl" cat that would end the fights that her sister started. She has this adorable way of blinking. It made my whole day when I see her blink (weird right). We live in a 3 bedroom and they have their own bathroom (literally), self-cleaning litter box, food dispenser (x2), and a 2.4 liter water fountain. April of 2024, Punkie was eating more and urinating a lot. I went from changing her litter box from 15 days to 3 days. Near the end of 2024, I was told that she has diabetes. She was put on Bexacat and later switched to Vetsulin. On March 20, 2025 I found her lateral on the floor in Hyperglycemic Shock. She just had a blood transfusion for anemia. We are still looking for cause. I am a Veteran that lost the chance to have children of my own due to a major medical surgery to save my life. I suffer from depression and felt lost until Punkie (and her sister Mittens) was born. Since 2013 Punkie (and her sister Mittens) have become my emotional support pets (my children). She was there for me whenever I was depressed. I do not want to loose her to illness. I am on a fixed income and work jobs that are on-call. I am looking for a full time job so that I can cover any unexpected vet cost. As of now, I am borrowing money from my Mom to help me. I appreciate her help however, Punkie is my responsibility. I am struggling right now.
