Winston

Winston is a 7 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in Granite Bay, CA, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO).

Granite Bay, CA

Winston is 7 years of age and he lives with me (known as his mom) and my husband and our adult daughter. When we got Winston, I have to be honest I didn't want another dog, but my daughter found out about a litter that was not wanted and she reached out to the owners. The only criteria is that he was a male and the owner picked for her. When he came home, I was instantly attached. Winston was protecting me from our neighbors dog that was in our yard growling and barking at me. It was 10pm, last potty of the night when we walked out the door there was the neighbors dog about 15 feet from me and it was barking and growling and Winston chased it away and returned injured - torn CCL. It should be noted this is not the first medical treatment needed due to neighbors dogs. Winston is a part of our family and my kids always tell me he is my favorite child. We had to put down our other dog this year and we are all grieving this loss. Winstons injury has limited our walks, him sleeping on the bed, and worry that he would be severly more injured if this were to occur again. He is a great driving companion, travel partner and he goes to my office most work days. ER visit and a consult with the surgeon I was able to put on a credit card. Estimate for surgery is $6800-7200 that is a hardship. Any help comes with so much graditude.

Ron "Ginger Cat" Weasley is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in West Monroe, LA, who needs $500 for Enucleation of the Eye.

West Monroe, LA

My husband and I both grew up pet lovers so it was only natural for us to continue this tradition when we started our own family 18 years ago. We have 2 teenage boys, 2 dogs, 5 cats, a bird and a few fish to keep things interesting. We know it's a lot. It can be overwhelming at times but they have all come to us in a time of need, a stray here, an orphan there, and a shusky escape artist. Our most recent vagabond came along November 15. A dirty ginger and white tabby, weighing all of maybe 5 lbs which was skin just hanging off of bones. He couldn't stand on his own. My son's friend had found him and the shelters turned him away. I was his "only hope" he pleaded. Once I saw the pitiful thing I caved and took him in. Ff to December 20th and he's up to 15 lbs and picking fights. When he's not picking fights he is using me for a cat bed. He lays vertically up my chest with his paw stretched over my shoulder and his face close to mine. I have several mental illnesses, am disabled and spend most of my time alone. This cat has brought me joy and affection that I didn't know I could still feel because it's been so long. But he just had to pick a fight and FAFO. Now he has a ruptured eye. The Neighborhood Vet in our area estimated a removal for his eye will be approximately $500. He has brought me so much joy after losing our home in the 2016 flood, both our vehicles, our water is on cut off notice, I just want to save my cat. 🙏

Smatchimo

Smatchimo is a 12 year old Mix-Breed in Portland, OR, who needs $1,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Portland, OR

Back in July of 2012, my friend Mindy went to Montana to visit her family (we live in Oregon). She told me that her & her brother were 4-wheeling behind her mom's house when she found 2 tiny orange kittens hiding under a pile of brush & appeared to be abandoned. She showed up on my door says later with a cutest little thing that fit right in the palm of my hand & we've been inseparable ever since I am not entirely sure what is wrong with Smatchimo. About a week or so ago, I noticed he was having trouble eating & cleaning himself. I have been having to crush his food, spoon feed him & bathe him after meals. He drools a lot & paws at his mouth while eating. I can tell he is in pain & it's breaking my heart because I feel so helpless and cannot afford to help him. Smatchimo has always been such a strong cat and incredibly loyal. When we lost our apartment a few years back, he was missing for several months. Everyone told me that if you don't find ur car the first week, you probably won't. 7 months later his chip was scanned. I went to the women's house to pick him up and she was in tears because she had never saw such a bond between an animal & human before I had been grand maul seizures where I lost consciousness, memory, bladder control, bit my mouth bloody, etc. This caused me to lose my job. So I went to a neurologist and after months and months of testing, etc. I was diagnosed with a (hopefully) benign brain tumor.
