Four Cats Lost Everything After Their Owner Passed Away—Now They Need Your Help

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

When multiple people reached out about four cats in desperate need of help, we knew we couldn't turn away. Their owner passed away in and the home was under contract to be sold. With the new owners preparing to move in within days, people were trying to give the cats away for free simply because they needed to be gone. These cats had already lost the person they loved. Then they were left outside with access only to a garage, forced to endure a cold, snowy winter while trying to survive on their own. Thankfully, they are safe now. Meet Basil, Sage, Wasabi, and Miso—four sweet cats whose lives were turned upside down. While all four are understandably frightened after everything they've been through, they have shown us nothing but gentle, loving personalities. Unfortunately, their medical needs are significant. Basil was found to have only half a tail, likely from an old injury. Sage has no tail at all, though it's unclear whether this was congenital or caused by trauma. Both girls needed veterinary care, vaccinations, testing, and microchips. Sage's coat was so severely matted that she required a full lion cut to relieve her discomfort. The boys face even greater challenges. Both Wasabi and Miso were found to have Grade III/IV heart murmurs during their veterinary exams. Additional bloodwork, including a cardiac proBNP test, revealed elevated results for both cats, raising concerns about underlying heart disease. Before they can safely undergo anesthesia for their neuters, they urgently need cardiac ultrasounds to determine whether their hearts are healthy enough for surgery. We have already spent approximately $500 on each boy for examinations and diagnostic testing. Their cardiac ultrasounds will cost an additional $550 each. If cleared by the cardiologist, they will still need neuters, vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing, and microchips. Miso also has extensive matting that will need to be shaved under anesthesia. These four cats have experienced loss, uncertainty, and neglect. Now they have a chance at a fresh start—but they need your help to get there. Your donation will help cover the medical care needed to ensure Basil, Sage, Wasabi, and Miso are healthy, safe, and ready to find the loving homes they deserve. Please consider donating today and helping these four survivors begin the next chapter of their lives. 7/14/26 Update Basil, Sage, and Wasabi have all come through their veterinary care beautifully. They are now fully vetted, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. Despite everything they endured after losing their owner and being left without a home, they have shown just how resilient and loving they are. This week, we'll officially be listing all three as available for adoption, and we couldn't be happier for them. While we're celebrating their progress, one member of the family still has an important journey ahead. Miso is still waiting for his surgical consultation, which is scheduled for August 7th. During that appointment, the specialist will evaluate his condition, determine exactly what surgery he needs, provide an estimate for the cost, and help us plan the next steps in his treatment. Because of his medical needs, Miso cannot be neutered until after his surgery and recovery. Although we're still waiting for answers, we're hopeful that Miso will soon be on the road to recovery, just like his siblings. Your kindness has already helped transform the lives of these four cats. Because of your support, Basil, Sage, and Wasabi are healthy and ready to find the loving homes they deserve. Now we're asking you to stay with us a little longer as we help Miso overcome this final obstacle. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover Miso's upcoming surgical consultation, treatment, and the medical care he still needs before he can begin his own search for a forever home. Every gift, no matter the size, brings him one step closer to the healthy, happy future he deserves. 7/14/26 Update: Update on our 4 cats left outside when their owner died Basil, Sage, Wasabi, and Miso have been adjusting well to indoor life! The two girls - Basil and Sage have gotten spayed and vaccinated. Sage had so many matts on her, we ended up having to give her a lion’s cut. She feels so much better and is much friendly. As far as the two boys (Wasabi and Miso) - they both had their cardiac echos performed. Wasabi’s echo went well and although he has a heart murmur of a 3, he does not have to be on medication and was able to get neutered. Unfortunately Miso’s echo did not got as well as expected, but we are actually thankful that he had a heart murmur because we would not have known about the other issues he has going on. Miso had an unexpected finding called a “peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (often called PPDH). In plain English - he has an abnormal opening/defect between the abdominal cavity and the sac around the heart and part of his lover and gallbladder are sitting up inside the pericardial sac around the heart. What this means is that he needs to have surgery to repair this and it can only be done by a board certified surgeon. We have a consult appointment with the surgeon next month and then we will work on getting a surgery date. We are also hoping that during the surgery, they will be able to neuter him. All 4 of these cats are very sweet and they seek out getting attention from people and they have also started learning how to play which is nice to see. All 4 really love each other and they are often found laying together (see the last picture of the 4 of them all together) Thank you to everyone that has donated and shared these guys! 8/1/26 Update A huge thank you to every person that donated or shared our post. These 4 cats survived the harsh winter living outside after their own passed away:( Since being in our care 3 of the 4 cats are fully vetted and ready for adoption. One of the cats (Wasabi) needed to get a cardiac ultrasound because of a grade III heart murmur. - thankfully he does not require any medication:) The last cat (Miso) is scheduled for a surgery consult next week because not only does he have a heart murmur but he has a birth defect and a hernia that is impacting him. All 4 cats are getting more comfortable and we are really starting to see their personalities come out. We can’t wait until they get adopted so they can begin the next chapters of their lives. Thank you again for all the support. 8/2/26 Update We are so excited to share a final update on Basil, Sage, Wasabi, and Miso! When these four cats first came into our care, they had just lost the only home they had ever known. After their owner passed away, they were left outside through a harsh winter with only a garage for shelter while the home was prepared for sale. Their future was uncertain, but thanks to your incredible generosity, their story has become one of hope. Today, Basil, Sage, and Wasabi are fully vetted and officially ready for adoption! Basil and Sage have both been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and have recovered beautifully. Sage is especially enjoying life after her much-needed lion cut, and both girls have blossomed into affectionate, loving companions. Wasabi's heart murmur initially raised concerns, but after receiving a cardiac ultrasound, we were relieved to learn that although he does have a Grade III murmur, he does not require heart medication. He has since been safely neutered and is also ready to find his forever family. Miso's journey has taken a different path. His cardiac ultrasound revealed an unexpected congenital condition called a peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (PPDH), a birth defect that allows part of his liver and gallbladder to sit inside the sac surrounding his heart. While this diagnosis was unexpected, we're incredibly thankful it was discovered before it caused a life-threatening emergency. Miso has now completed his surgical consultation and is working toward the specialized surgery he needs before he can be neutered and begin searching for a forever home. The best part of all? These four cats have truly come out of their shells. They've learned that indoor life is safe, they've discovered the joy of toys, they eagerly seek out affection from people, and perhaps most heartwarming of all—they still adore one another and are often found snuggled together, just as they did when they first arrived. From all of us, thank you for making their second chance possible. Your donations helped provide examinations, cardiac testing, vaccinations, spay and neuter surgeries, diagnostics, and the specialized care these cats desperately needed after losing everything. Because of your compassion, three of these sweet cats are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives, while Miso is receiving the expert care he needs to get there too. We can't wait to celebrate as each of them finds the loving home they deserve. Thank you for believing in Basil, Sage, Wasabi, and Miso. Your kindness has changed their lives forever. ❤️

Abandoned on the Side of the Road: Help This Mom And 12 Kittens Get the Care They Desperately Need

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

On the side of a busy road, a frightened group of cats was found running through traffic, vulnerable to cars, predators, disease, and starvation. When the local Animal Control department responded, they discovered a heartbreaking scene: one adult mother cat and twelve tiny black kittens struggling to survive on their own. Our rescue immediately stepped in, knowing these cats had nowhere else to go. The kittens are incredibly young and fragile, ranging from less than half a pound to only 1.5 pounds. Many arrived with eye infections and other medical concerns that require immediate treatment. Based on the kittens' varying ages and weights, we believe there may have originally been more than one mother caring for them, but only one adult cat was found with the group. Since arriving in rescue, the kittens have already required extensive care. Two of the smallest kittens, Peanut and Pecan, recently returned to the veterinarian for additional treatment after continuing to struggle with eye issues and intestinal parasites. More comprehensive fecal testing revealed that their first round of deworming was not enough, and all twelve kittens will need multiple rounds of treatment to fully eliminate the parasites affecting their health. Right now, our team is providing around-the-clock care, nutritious food, clean bedding, litter, medications, and veterinary attention to help these little ones recover and grow. But caring for thirteen cats is a tremendous undertaking. In the coming weeks and months, every cat in this group will need: • Veterinary examinations and ongoing medical treatment • Multiple rounds of deworming and parasite prevention • Treatment for eye infections and related complications • Vaccinations • FeLV/FIV testing • Spay and neuter surgeries • Nutritious food, litter, and daily care supplies These cats were abandoned through no fault of their own. They deserved safety, love, and proper care from the beginning. Instead, they were left to fend for themselves beside a busy roadway. With your help, their story can have a much happier ending. Every donation, no matter the amount, helps provide lifesaving veterinary care, food, medications, testing, and supplies for this vulnerable family. Together, we can give these thirteen cats the chance to grow up healthy, safe, and loved. Thank you for helping us turn abandonment into hope. 7/14/26 Update: Update on our Mom and 12 kittens Wow! It’s been busy here at Paws 4 Life taking care of this big family! All our our volunteers worked tirelessly keeping all these kittens alive and healthy. We had to continue supplement feeding them with KMR, multiple vet visit, multiple extensive diarrhea panels, multiple rounds of deworming treatments and antibiotics, but we are finally at a good and stable place with all of them. All the older kittens have gotten fixed and most of them only have one more feline distemper vaccine to get (in their 3 round series). We have 2 more kittens left to fix and then we will be working hard at finding them the right forever homes. It’s amazing as to how much they love each other - we always find them all together in a huge kitten pile regardless of how much room them have to spread out. Our goal is to adopt them in pairs as they truly do love each other and we want to do what is best for them. Thank you everyone who has donated and shared their story. Their lives did not start out good, but things have turned around for them and they will only have good things from this point forward. 8/1/26 Update Our “Nuts” kittens are all ready for adoption! All have made significant strides since we took them into our care back in April. All have been fixed, fully vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV/Heartworm, microchipped and dewormed. They are all so friendly and we can’t wait for them to find their forever homes so that they can begin the next chapters of their lives.

Felix

Help Felix Walk Without Pain Again

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

Felix has already survived more than most cats ever should. For years, he lived outdoors in a cat colony, relying on kindness where he could find it. When the colony was threatened and the cats were in danger of being harmed, Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue stepped in — giving Felix safety, stability, and a chance at a life he’d never known before. That’s when everyone realized just how special this senior boy is. Felix is gentle, affectionate, and deeply bonded to other cats. He takes his thyroid medication like a champion, tolerates arthritis treatments with quiet grace, and finds his greatest comfort curled up in a warm pile of feline friends. After everything he endured outside, he finally felt safe. Then, a few weeks ago, something changed. Felix began favoring his back leg. He was rushed to the vet the very next day, where X-rays revealed devastating news: his hip was fully dislocated. This wasn’t arthritis progression — it was a painful injury that will not heal on its own. Felix now urgently needs a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery — a procedure that will relieve his pain and allow him to walk, rest, and move comfortably again. Without it, every step hurts. This surgery is Felix’s chance to enjoy his golden years without suffering. Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue is already caring for many medically complex cats, and the cost of this surgery is overwhelming for a small nonprofit. But after everything Felix has survived — life outdoors, displacement, chronic illness — turning him away is not an option. That’s where you come in. Your donation today will directly fund Felix’s surgery, pain management, and recovery care. You can be the reason this sweet senior gets to walk without pain, nap beside his beloved cat friends, and finally live the peaceful life he has always deserved. Please donate now to help Felix heal. His future depends on it. 12/25/25 Update: Surgery was a success! Felix got his Christmas Miracle on Christmas Eve! His FHO surgery went well and Felix is already walking around better. He has to go back in 4 weeks for a recheck which will determine whether he will need to go to rehab. 1/28/26 Update: UPDATE: Recheck from Felix’s FHO Surgery on Christmas Eve Felix has been on cage rest since his FHO surgery on 12/24. Yesterday, he had his recheck appointment with the surgeon and everything looks great and has now been cleared for normal activity! As he hasn’t really used that leg in months, that leg is weaker than it should be, so Felix will need to go Physical Therapy to start to get some of that muscle back. Today was his first session - he had some laser treatment and we worked on him standing and getting around on different types of services. We’ll keep you posted on his recovery! Thank you for helping him! 2/7/26 Update: Felix continues to heal with Physical Therapy! Felix just finished his 2nd PT appointment and is doing well. The doctors are happy with the progress he has made since last week’s PT appointment. As he didn’t use that leg in a few months, we need to help him get muscle and strength. Back in that leg. Thank you for following his journey! 2/20/26 Update: Felix continues to make progress! Felix is doing so well with his physical therapy which include laser treatment and physical therapy exercises. We are working hard at getting Felix to gain back some muscle that he lost:( Thank you for everyone that has supported him ❤️ 2/28/26 Update Felix has now completed about four physical therapy sessions following his Christmas Eve FHO surgery — and we are so happy to share that he continues to gain strength in his leg. After months of not using that leg prior to surgery, rebuilding muscle has been one of the biggest goals of his recovery. With consistent laser treatments, guided exercises during PT, and a dedicated at-home routine between appointments, Felix is making steady progress. We have a series of exercises we work on with him at home to help strengthen that back leg and improve his balance and flexibility. And it’s paying off. The most exciting update? Felix can now jump up onto the couch on his own! For a senior boy who once took every step in pain, this is huge. Seeing him move more confidently — choosing to climb up next to his favorite people and feline friends — is exactly why this surgery and continued rehab were so important. Felix still has additional therapy sessions ahead, and ongoing rehabilitation is essential to help him regain as much muscle and long-term stability as possible. Physical therapy, follow-up care, and continued monitoring all come with costs that add up quickly for a small rescue caring for medically complex cats. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support Felix’s continued recovery. Every contribution helps cover his PT sessions, laser treatments, and at-home recovery needs. Because of you, Felix is no longer living in pain — he’s rebuilding strength, confidence, and independence in his golden years. Thank you for standing with this special senior boy. Please donate and share to help us carry him all the way to a full, strong recovery. 3/19/26 Update Felix’s journey has come full circle—and it’s everything we hoped for and more. We are so happy to share that Felix has officially graduated from physical therapy! After months of healing, hard work, and determination, this incredible senior boy is now moving with strength and confidence. The same cat who once lived in pain, unable to properly use his leg, is now jumping on and off the couch like it’s nothing. Watching him move so freely… it’s something we will never take for granted. From surviving life outdoors, to finding safety in rescue, to facing a painful hip injury and major surgery—Felix has overcome every obstacle placed in front of him with quiet resilience and grace. Today, he’s doing exactly what he always deserved to do: resting comfortably, moving without pain, and enjoying life alongside the people and feline friends he loves. This is what your support made possible. Because of you, Felix received his FHO surgery, pain management, and the extensive physical therapy he needed to truly heal—not just survive, but thrive. We are endlessly grateful to everyone who donated, shared, and stood by Felix throughout his journey. As a small rescue caring for senior and medically complex cats, cases like Felix’s come with significant costs—from surgery to months of rehabilitation. If you’re able to make a final donation, it would help us continue providing lifesaving care to cats just like him who are still waiting for their second chance. Felix got his miracle. With your help, we can give that same chance to the next one who needs it.

From Rescue to Recovery: Help Silver Beat the Odds

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

Silver was rescued from the streets where her mom was trying to keep them safe and find food when we rescued them. Silver was a perfectly healthy 4 month old healthy kitten who was days away from getting spayed (and hopefully adopted) when her foster mom noticed some swelling on her right side of her mouth. We were hoping it was just going to be an abscess, but it was much worse. After a sedated Cone Beam Scan and a biopsy, the specialist found an aggressive mass in her right mandibular ( jaw)—something so rare in a kitten as young as Silver that the specialist said he’s never seen anything like it in his 20+ years of practice. The biopsy is now pending, but the suspicion is high for cancer. Silver is just started out in the world and was almost ready for adopted before this happened to her:( This baby still wants attention and affection. We’re not giving up on her—but we also want to prepare for the hard choices that may come once we have the biopsy results in hand. To date, we have spent over $2k on sweet Silver and that does not include surgery (if she is a candidate for surgery once the biopsy results come back. We are a small rescue and continue to get hit with emergency after emergency - so another unexpected emergency hits us hard UPDATE 8 22 25 We have some absolutely amazing news!!! The biopsy results came back as NO CANCER!!! It came back as Osteomyelitis (a serious (but treatable) bacterial infection). We needed to do a culture so that we can ensure that we are using the right antibiotics to make sure we knock out this infection - we should get the results back in a couple days. Silver also will need to go back in 4 weeks for another CT Scan.

From Healthy Kitten to Critical Condition: Give Danny a Chance to Run Again

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

Danny was adopted in January 2025 as a healthy 8 month old kitten. He now has severe neurological issues - cannot run or jump and has to shuffle to get around. He also has to have his bladder expressed. Danny was surrendered to us yesterday and immediately went to our vet - his temperature was only 96° and was having mini seizures! He is now at a 24 hour vet and we are trying to save his life. In the last 24 hours we have done a battery of testing on Danny. His bloodwork and urinalysis was fairly normal. But his neurologic issues are one of the concerns right now - he just started medication for that. The vet is also having a hard time keeping his blood pressure and temperature regulated. Danny’s seizures and tremors have lessened so the seizure medication seems to be helping. Danny is only 10 months old and was a happy and healthy kitten until he started to have neurologic issues. We are doing everything we can to figure out why he suddenly became this way. He has a sibling Daphne that is missing him so much. Our rescue continues to take on cats that have been thrown out, abandoned, abused, and/or left to fend for themselves. Many of the cats we take on need significant medical care. Adoption fees never cover routine veterinary care, so a case like Danny is crippling for us.

Diesel’s Wounds Run Deep - Help Give Diesel the Care He Deserves

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

We were tagged in town’s Facebook page asking for helping with an injured stray cat that was unable to put any weight on one of his front legs.:( It took us a few weeks to be able to trap him, but as soon as we did, we knew that he needed immediate vet care -his leg was actively bleeding. Diesel went to our vet (Wallingford Vet) the same day he was trapped. As Diesel’s personality is unknown and his injuries appear to be painful, he was sedated for his exam. He had numerous bite wounds on his right leg and top of his head. The wounds were clipped and cleaned and he received an antibiotic injection. He also had bloodwork, vaccines, and xrays done. We don’t know know much about Diesel’s life before he came to us, but clearly he has been let down by people:( He was living outside and injured for at least a month and most have been in so much pain, but he survived and made it to us so that we can get him healthy and ready for adoption. Our rescue is very small and we do not receive large grants and rely solely on donations from our followers and supporters. Diesel’s medical expenses will be high. His first vet exam included a sedated exam, xrays w/radiologist consult, blood work, and cleaning his wounds. Update 4/21/25: Diesel’s wounds are slowly but steadily healing. The road to recovery hasn’t been easy, but each day brings signs of progress and resilience. He’s still in quarantine, where his healing is closely monitored and he’s kept safe and comfortable. Diesel remains cautious around people — his past has clearly left its mark — but he’s being given all the time, space, and gentle care he needs to begin building trust again. Update 5/30/25: Diesel is continuing to do well! His wounds are healing nicely, and while there's still some recovery ahead, he's made incredible progress. The amazing team at Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue is working tirelessly to help him build trust and feel safe around people. Every day, he's becoming a little more social and a lot more hopeful!

A Heart-Shaped Mark, A Heartfelt Story: Valentina’s Fight for Health and Comfort

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

Valentina’s journey has been filled with loss, confusion, and uncertainty. She’s a 12-year-old senior cat who has already faced so much heartache in her life—losing both her owner and her feline companion in just a few short months. Left behind in an empty house with only occasional visits from people to feed her and change her litter box, Valentina’s world became small and lonely. But Valentina’s story isn’t over yet. Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue stepped in when another rescue reached out to them, and were able to bring this sweet senior girl into their care. They named her Valentina because of the beautiful heart-shaped mark on her nose. Valentina was taken to the vet who discovered some troubling signs. Her bloodwork showed that her liver values are off, and she will need an ultrasound to help determine the cause. But the most urgent concern is her eye. Valentina was diagnosed with Glaucoma and Fine Diffuse Iris Melanoma. She has no vision in her left eye and it is extremely painful due to dangerously high eye pressure—64, when it should be under 25. Valentina needs a specialized procedure to address both her eye condition and her liver concerns. The total cost of her care is estimated at $4,000. Please, help us make Valentina’s remaining years filled with comfort and love.

A Tough Start, A Brave Heart: Domino's Fight Through Illness and Abandonment

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

We were asked to take Domino into our rescue after a social media post was made that his owners abandoned him in an apartment complex with no food or water and the landlord was only giving a couple days to find him a new home:( Domino has had one issue after another since coming into our care in November. First he had explosive diarrhea that took a few weeks to get under control. Then he developed an upper respiratory infection that turned into pneumonia. He was admitted to an ER vet and placed in oxygen and received IV fluids and antibiotics. Additional tests were done and came back for Bordetella, which is VERY in cats Domino was thrown outside when his owners were evicted from an apartment complex. Somehow Domino found his way back to the apartment (his sister is still missing:( The landlord put Domino back in the trashed apartment with no food or water and when we found him, he was eating garbage out of the garbage can:( Despite all this, he is the biggest love and just wants to be around people. We are a very small rescue and have already had so many medical emergencies with cats this year. We are there for these cats when they have been failed by people before us. Domino’s ER visit alone cost $3,241.05 which does not include his previous vet visits.

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

* Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue * Chance is one of ten cats Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue saved from a terrible hoarding situation where the animals suffered in deplorable conditions. All the cats were sick, but the nonprofit group noticed Chance was in the worst shape. "Chance started having a difficult time breathing, and we rushed him to the emergency veterinarian where he was admitted and placed in oxygen," Melissa S., with the group, tells Waggle. X-rays showed he had pneumediatinum, where air was found outside his lungs. This is usually from some type of tear. Then Chance stopped eating, so his veterinarian placed a feeding tube in his body. Despite his past, Chance has shown remarkable resilience. He's one of the most affectionate cats you'll ever meet, craving love and attention from people. Chance's emergency bill has already exceeded $7,000, a significant amount for the rescue. Your support is crucial to ensure they can continue their lifesaving work for animals in need. Garfield came to Paws 4 Life on 5/25/24 with a terrible injury to his front leg where it was just dangling:( and he wouldn’t put any weight on it. He showed up at a feeding station for colony cats looking for food. We immediately took him to the vet for veterinary care. After Garfield was examined by the veterinarian, they determined he more than likely was hit by a car a fee weeks prior and as the injury was left untreated, it was becoming infected. Based on the vet’s recommendation, we made the decision to amputate Garfield’s leg. Although we have only had Garfield a short time, he is a very sweet cat. He was obviously someone’s cat at some point as all he wants is love from people. Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue helps animals that would be euthanized if we did not step in to help. Ariel is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Bolton, CT, who needs $2,000 for Pleural Effusion and Pneumonia.

Bolton, CT • Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue, Inc.

Ariel is one of 10 cats we took into our rescue from a very sad hoarding situation. All these cats have had off/on Upper Respiratory Infections and eye discharge since they came into our care back in June of 2023. We noticed that Ariel wasn’t feeling well and separated her to better monitor her. We also found out that Ariel was pregnant. She gave birth to 3 kittens. Ariel's breathing became heavier than we would like and we rushed her to Central Emergency Vet. She had bloodwork and x-rays done, which showed she had pleural effusion and pneumonia. The bloodwork showed some elevated markers which indicate a strong possibility of FIP as well as a very rare bacteria not usually found in cats. Ariel needed to be placed into oxygen for a few days to help her. All the cats that came from this very sad hoarding situation have had a rough start to their lives and never received any vet care until we took them in. They all deserve a chance at finding a forever home where they will gat all the love and attention (and medical care) they deserve. Since Ariel came into our care on May 23, 2023, we have spent $9,554 on medical care for her. We also spent another $8,874 on one of her housemates that came from the same hoarding situation that also needed extensive medical care. We are drowning in medical bills.
