A Tiny CH Baby Alone With No One to Protect Him — Starving & Struggling Just to Stay Alive

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

When CH Baby Francis appeared at a food truck, there was no mama cat beside him. No one was protecting him or making sure he had enough to eat. And because Francis has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), he was already facing challenges that would have made life on the streets even more dangerous. CH affects coordination and balance, leaving Francis wobbly and unsteady on his feet. For a tiny kitten navigating cars, predators, and the countless dangers of life outdoors, surviving on his own was almost unimaginable.Thankfully, someone noticed Francis and reached out for help. When he entered rescue Wild Whiskers Inc., his CH was obvious—but his caregivers quickly realized something else was wrong. Francis appeared increasingly neurological and began declining. Eventually, he stopped getting out of bed. Bloodwork revealed just how serious things had become: his sodium was off the charts. His rescue team knew they couldn't give up on this tiny baby. With help from his veterinary team, Francis began an intensive treatment plan that includes twice-daily subcutaneous fluids and oral medications at home. His bloodwork has started improving—and even more encouragingly, Francis started playing again. For the first time, this little fighter began acting like the kitten he was always meant to be. Francis also receives weekly ozone treatments as part of his ongoing supportive care, and his rescue has already spent significantly on diagnostics, bloodwork, treatments, and other veterinary expenses. But Francis's medical journey isn't over. He will remain in a long-term medical foster home until his veterinarians determine that he is healthy and stable enough to be considered for adoption. Until then, his rescue must continue covering his ongoing medical care. Francis may be wobbly. He may need extra help. But he is happy, he is playing, and he is living a life worth fighting for. His rescue said yes to Francis when he had nowhere else to go. Now, they need help keeping that promise. 💙 Please donate today to help cover Francis's ongoing veterinary care. Every contribution helps provide the fluids, medications, diagnostics, monitoring, and supportive care this special little kitten needs. And if you can't donate, please share Francis's story. One share could put his fundraiser in front of someone who can help. Francis didn't get the easiest start in life. But he finally has people fighting for him—and with your help, we can make sure this brave little kitten gets every chance to keep growing, playing, and enjoying the life he fought so hard to find.

Ash

Born Without Eyelids, She Has Never Known a Day Without Pain. Please Help Baby Ash

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

Most kittens spend their days chasing toys, exploring the world, and discovering what it means to be carefree. Baby Ash has spent hers in constant pain. This tiny kitten was born with a severe eyelid abnormality that causes her eyelashes to grow inward, scraping against the surface of her eyes every time she blinks. Imagine living every moment with something scratching your eyes—and never knowing what it feels like for the pain to stop. Because Ash is still so young, she isn't yet old enough for the reconstructive surgery that will permanently correct the problem. But waiting doesn't mean she has to continue suffering. Wild Whiskers has found a way to give Ash the relief she so desperately needs. An ophthalmologist at Animal Eye Specialty Clinic can perform cryosurgery, a specialized procedure that freezes the eyelash follicles, causing the painful eyelashes to fall out. While this isn't a permanent cure, it will eliminate one of the biggest sources of Ash's daily pain and dramatically improve her comfort until she is old enough for reconstructive surgery. After the procedure, Ash will still require frequent lubricating eye medications to protect her eyes, but for the first time in her life, she will have the chance to blink without constant irritation. This unexpected surgery must happen quickly, and Wild Whiskers needs your help to make it possible. Every donation will help cover the cost of Ash's cryosurgery, specialized veterinary care, medications, and follow-up treatment. Your generosity won't just fund a procedure—it will give a tiny kitten something she's never had before: relief. Ash deserves to wake up without pain. She deserves to play without constant irritation. She deserves the chance to simply be a happy kitten. Please consider making a donation today. Every gift, no matter the amount, brings Baby Ash one step closer to the comfort and future she deserves. Together, we can help this little fighter experience what every kitten should—a life without pain. 7/30/26 Update We thought Baby Ash was finally turning a corner. But just as we began celebrating this important milestone, everything changed. Ash successfully underwent her cryosurgery procedure to remove the painful eyelashes that have been scratching her eyes every time she blinked. Shortly after her procedure, Ash began breathing heavily and struggling to get enough air. Her tiny body started shutting down, and she was rushed to the emergency hospital, where she is now fighting for her life. The veterinary team is working urgently to stabilize her while performing chest X-rays and additional diagnostics to determine exactly what went wrong. At this time, her doctors believe she may have aspirated during her cryosurgery, causing this sudden and life-threatening respiratory crisis. Right now, every minute matters. Ash is receiving emergency oxygen support, intensive monitoring, diagnostic testing, and the critical care she needs to give her the best possible chance of recovery. Our team is doing everything we can to help this sweet little kitten pull through. This heartbreaking emergency has also created a new financial burden that no one could have anticipated. The funds we raised for Ash's eye procedure are no longer enough to cover the emergency hospitalization and lifesaving treatment she now desperately needs. Please, if you are able, make a donation today. Every dollar will help provide the emergency care, diagnostics, medications, and hospitalization that could save Baby Ash's life. Ash has already endured more pain than any kitten ever should. She has fought so hard for the chance to live a happy, healthy life. Please help us give her that chance. Thank you for standing beside Ash when she needs us most. 7/31/26 Update It is with shattered hearts that we share the news that Baby Ash did not survive. After successfully undergoing her cryosurgery, we were filled with hope that this tiny kitten would finally begin experiencing life without the constant pain caused by her eyelid condition. But shortly after the procedure, Ash began struggling to breathe and rapidly declined. She was rushed to the emergency hospital, where the veterinary team worked tirelessly to stabilize her and uncover the cause of her sudden collapse. Despite every effort, Ash's little body could not recover. Further evaluation revealed that Ash had underlying congenital heart abnormalities that had gone undetected. While it is impossible to know with complete certainty exactly why she crashed, her veterinarians believe these congenital heart issues likely played a significant role in the complications she experienced following anesthesia and surgery. Sometimes, even when every medical decision is made with love and every precaution is taken, a tiny body is carrying burdens no one could have known were there.Although her time with us was far too short, we take comfort in knowing that Ash was surrounded by people who loved her deeply and fought for her every step of the way. She knew kindness, compassion, and gentle hands. She was never alone. We are incredibly grateful to every person who donated, shared her story, and kept Ash in their thoughts. Your generosity gave her access to specialized veterinary care and the opportunity to try for a life free from pain. While we did not receive the ending we had all hoped for, your support ensured that everything possible was done for this precious kitten. Thank you for loving Baby Ash. She may have only been with us for a brief time, but she left paw prints on countless hearts and will never be forgotten.

Nova

Already Struggling to Walk With CH, Then Shot With a BB Gun, Nova Kept Fighting Every Day Until We Found Her. Now She Deserves Surgery to Finally Be Free From Pain.

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

Nova has already beaten impossible odds. This sweet young cat was found wobbling through a busy parking lot, weaving between moving cars as she searched for scraps of food. Every unsteady step put her life at risk. A concerned community member saw that she couldn't survive much longer and reached out to Wild Whiskers for help. When rescuers brought Nova to safety, they discovered that she wasn't injured from a car accident, as many had feared. Instead, Nova has cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition that affects her balance and coordination. Cats with CH can live long, happy lives indoors, but on the streets, where every step can mean dodging traffic or escaping predators, her condition made survival incredibly dangerous. But then we learned that Nova had endured something even more heartbreaking. A BB was found lodged in her body. Someone shot this tiny, vulnerable cat with a BB gun. We can't stop thinking about what that must have looked like—this sweet girl already struggling to walk, wobbling through the streets, barely able to survive and find enough food, only to be hurt even further by someone who chose to shoot her. It absolutely shattered our hearts. And yet, Nova kept going. Her challenges didn't end there. During her initial veterinary examination, doctors discovered dangerously high pressure in one of her eyes. A veterinary ophthalmologist confirmed that Nova is permanently blind in that eye because of glaucoma. The eye cannot be saved, and the painful pressure has been affecting her every single day. Nova has also already been through so much of what no cat should have to endure. Veterinarians discovered that she had previously given birth to kittens. It's difficult to imagine this fragile little cat, struggling to walk and survive outdoors while carrying a litter, giving birth, and trying to care for her babies—all while living with a painful, blind eye. Thankfully, Nova has now been spayed, so she will never have to endure that hardship again. We thought we were almost at the finish line. Nova's veterinary specialists recommended an enucleation to remove her painful, damaged eye. Because she is already blind in that eye, the surgery will not take away vision. Instead, it will eliminate the painful pressure she has been forced to live with and spare her from a lifetime of stressful daily eye medications. We were hoping that once her eye was removed, Nova's major medical needs would finally be behind her. Unfortunately, we learned that she has another painful problem that cannot be ignored. Nova's dental disease is extensive. She has resorptive lesions and multiple broken teeth, which means she is also experiencing significant dental pain. She will need a dental surgery to remove the damaged teeth and address the disease in her mouth. Her eye surgery and dental surgery must be performed separately because of the risk of bacteria associated with oral surgery and eye surgery. That means one more procedure—and one more expense—for this little survivor. We are so close to giving Nova the comfortable, pain-free life she deserves. Wild Whiskers has already spent hundreds of dollars on Nova's emergency veterinary care, diagnostics, vaccinations, examinations, and specialist care. We are now raising funds for her enucleation, biopsy, and the dental surgery she desperately needs. If enough funds are raised, her removed eye will also be sent for biopsy. The results could help identify any underlying disease that could potentially threaten the vision in her remaining eye, allowing her veterinary team to better protect the sight she still has. Nova spent who knows how long struggling through life alone—wobbling through a parking lot, searching for food, enduring a painful blind eye, dental disease, and even a gunshot wound. Then one compassionate person stopped and asked for help. That person changed everything. Now we have the chance to change the rest of Nova's life. She deserves to know what it feels like to wake up without pain. She deserves soft beds, full meals, safety, love, and the chance to simply be a cat. She deserves to never again have to fight for her next meal or fear the people around her. Please help us get Nova through this final hurdle. Every donation brings her closer to having her painful eye removed and receiving the dental care she needs. And if you're unable to donate, sharing Nova's campaign can be just as powerful. We have come so far with this sweet girl. Please help us get her across the finish line.

Help Patriot Enjoy His Golden Years

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

Meet Patriot. When we were at Patriot's colony, our hearts broke for him. His caretaker told us she didn't think he would survive another South Florida summer. As a super senior cat already struggling outdoors, she feared he simply didn't have the strength left to endure the brutal heat, heavy rains, and daily hardships of life on the streets. Looking at Patriot, we couldn't help but wonder how many summers he had already survived on his own. We knew he deserved better than spending his final days struggling outside. At Wild Whiskers, we specialize in helping community cats who are no longer thriving outdoors. Sometimes they recover and return to their colonies. Sometimes they find loving adoptive homes. And sometimes, cats like Patriot need something different—a safe place to spend their golden years surrounded by love and care. When Patriot came into our care, he was very sick. What worried us most was that he was not only a senior cat, but also had a heart murmur. We took things slowly, giving his tired body time to rest and heal. There were days he slept so deeply that we would quietly check on him just to make sure he was okay. As he began to recover, we discovered another source of suffering. The few teeth Patriot had left were severely diseased and causing him constant pain. After multiple veterinary visits and careful monitoring, Patriot underwent a full-mouth dental extraction. He may be toothless now, but he is finally free from the pain he had likely been living with for years. Today, Patriot remains in our care as a super senior medical foster. While he is doing much better, his veterinary expenses continue to add up, and we need your help to continue providing the care he deserves. Your donation will help cover Patriot's diagnostics, medical treatment, senior pre-operative testing, dental surgery, follow-up care, and ongoing medical needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure that Patriot can continue receiving the care and comfort he needs. We know that finding a forever home for a super senior medical cat can be difficult. The truth is, Patriot may spend the rest of his life with us—and that's okay. At Wild Whiskers, we take in senior and medical cats knowing that some may never be adopted. They deserve love, comfort, and a family just as much as any other cat. Whether Patriot has months or years ahead of him, he will never have to face another day of suffering alone. He has a home. He has a family. He has us. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Patriot's story. Every share helps us reach more people who can support his journey and helps us continue saying yes to cats like Patriot. Thank you for helping us give Patriot the love, comfort, and care he deserves.

Chance

We Took a Chance on Chance — Now We Need Your Help

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

When we first spotted Chance at a community cat colony, she was sitting alone with one eye completely crusted shut. She looked exhausted, sick, and defeated. The colony caretaker warned us that Chance was feral and couldn't be handled. But when we approached her, she didn't run. Instead, this frightened little cat was so sick that she simply allowed herself to be picked up and placed into a carrier, as if she knew this might be her only opportunity for help. We rushed Chance to the veterinarian, hoping her condition could be treated with medication and that she could eventually return to her colony. Testing revealed that she was battling calicivirus, a contagious viral infection that can cause painful respiratory symptoms, mouth ulcers, and eye problems. Despite weeks of antibiotics, eye drops, and intensive treatment, her eye continued to deteriorate. Then came the devastating news. A veterinary ophthalmologist discovered that the lesion in Chance's eye had become dangerously deep and was threatening both her vision and the eye itself. Without immediate intervention, she could lose it entirely. Her only chance was emergency corneal graft surgery. The procedure was expensive, and as a small rescue, we weren't sure how we would afford it. But we couldn't turn our backs on her. Chance had fought too hard to give up now. We said yes. The surgery was successful, and after weeks of recovery and round-the-clock medications, Chance kept her eye and retained her vision. But her battle wasn't over. Once her eye stabilized, veterinarians discovered she was suffering from severe stomatitis, a painful inflammatory condition that was making it difficult for her to eat and live comfortably. Despite our hopes of saving some of her teeth, the disease was so advanced that a full-mouth extraction became necessary. After another major surgery and a brief setback involving infection and inflammation, Chance finally began to feel better. Today, this incredible cat is thriving. She plays. She eats comfortably. She gains weight. She enjoys life. For the first time in a very long time, Chance is living without constant pain. Unfortunately, her medical journey came at a significant cost. Between diagnostics, specialist consultations, emergency eye surgery, medications, dental surgery, and follow-up care, her treatment has totaled nearly $3,000. Chance may have started out as a feral colony cat that many people would have overlooked, but we saw a cat worth fighting for. Now we're asking for your help. Your donation will help cover Chance's outstanding veterinary expenses and allow us to continue rescuing cats facing medical emergencies just like hers. Every gift, no matter the size, helps give vulnerable cats the second chance they deserve. Please donate today and help us continue saying "yes" when the next Chance comes along. 7/8/26 Update We wanted to share an update on our precious girl, Chance. We're happy to say that, overall, Chance has been doing wonderfully and continues to bring so much joy to everyone around her. She has fully embraced the good life and absolutely loves her automatic butterfly toy, happily batting and chasing it for hours at a time. Seeing her play so carefree is a beautiful reminder of just how far she's come since being rescued. Chance also remains incredibly close to her colony mate, Patriot. They came into our rescue together, and we're so grateful they've been able to stay by each other's side. She still insists on eating next to him, follows him wherever he goes, and has even made friends with the other foster kitties. Watching them all play together is a heartwarming sight that reminds us why every rescue is worth the fight. Unfortunately, over the past few days, we've noticed that Chance has been meowing much more than usual and seems uncomfortable. Because of these changes, she'll be heading back to the veterinarian for an examination. Given her history of severe stomatitis and previous infections, we're concerned that she may be experiencing inflammation or another complication, and we want to address it as quickly as possible before it becomes more serious. Please keep Chance in your thoughts as we work to get answers and make sure she's comfortable again. We're hopeful that this is something that can be treated quickly so she can get back to enjoying her toys, her friends, and the happy, pain-free life she fought so hard to achieve. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in Chance and making her incredible journey possible. Your compassion has given her a second chance at life, and we're forever grateful. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover Chance's ongoing veterinary care. Every gift helps provide the examinations, diagnostics, medications, and treatment she may need while also allowing us to continue rescuing other vulnerable cats facing medical emergencies. Together, we can ensure Chance—and so many others like her—continue to receive the care they deserve. 7/12/26 Update Chance continues to do well and enjoys the comfort and love of her foster home. She has come such a long way from the frightened, sick colony cat we first rescued, and seeing her happy, playful, and surrounded by friends is something we're incredibly grateful for. As with many cats who have overcome serious medical challenges, Chance still requires ongoing veterinary monitoring to make sure she stays healthy and comfortable. Her rescue journey didn't end with her surgeries, and we remain committed to providing her with whatever care she needs to continue thriving. We're so thankful to everyone who has supported Chance along the way. Your kindness gave her the opportunity to receive lifesaving treatment, recover from years of pain, and experience the life every cat deserves. If you're able to help, please consider making a donation to support Chance's continued veterinary care. Every contribution helps cover follow-up visits, diagnostics, medications, and any future treatment she may need. Your generosity also allows us to say "yes" to the next vulnerable cat who arrives needing urgent medical care. 7/28/26 Update Thanks to your incredible generosity, Chance is healed and doing so well! Her eye and mouth have fully healed, and the infection, inflammation, and pain are finally gone. After everything she has been through, it is such a joy to see her feeling comfortable, happy, and full of life again. Chance is now able to play, explore, and spend her days cuddling with her brother, Patriot. Seeing her healthy, pain-free, and enjoying life is the outcome we all hoped for. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported Chance's journey. Your kindness gave her the medical care she needed and the chance to live the happy, healthy life she deserves. We are so grateful for each and every one of you well! Imagine Hurting Even in Your Sleep — Help Liam Today

West Palm Beach, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

One year ago, I got the call you never forget. A cat had appeared at a trailer park where I was trapping for TNVR. He wasn’t just sick — he was dying. Covered in mange, one eye severely infected, barely able to move. I brought him home not knowing if I was saving him… or simply giving him comfort at the end. He lost the eye that couldn’t be saved. But somehow, he survived. When it was time to return him to his colony, I opened the trap — and he didn’t run. He shook. Frozen. Terrified. I’ve released thousands of cats. They run toward home. Liam was begging not to be left behind. So I brought him back. Built him a safe space. When given the choice, he stayed. For the first time in his life, he chose safety. Now, a year later, Liam is safe — but he’s still suffering. During a recent veterinary exam, we discovered that Liam has severe dental disease, including painful resorptive lesions — one of the most painful conditions cats can experience. Even while under sedation, Liam began chattering when his mouth was touched, a heartbreaking sign that he was still feeling pain despite being asleep. Imagine hurting so badly that your body reacts even when you cannot wake up. Liam is living with constant oral pain. Eating hurts. Existing hurts. And after everything he has survived, he deserves relief. His veterinarian has recommended urgent dental surgery with extractions to remove the diseased teeth and finally free him from pain. Medical Costs Pre-operative exam & bloodwork: $446 Dental surgery & extractions estimate: $703–$970 Our rescue has faced overwhelming medical expenses recently while continuing to say yes to animals in need. We cannot give Liam the pain-free life he deserves without help. This surgery will allow Liam to: ✔ Eat comfortably again ✔ Live without chronic pain ✔ Continue his journey toward a healthy, happy forever life Liam fought so hard to survive. Now he needs us — and our community — to help him truly heal. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings Liam closer to being pain-free. If you’re unable to donate, sharing his story makes a lifesaving difference too. Thank you for helping Liam finally leave pain behind and enjoy the life he fought so hard to have. 3/13/26 Update We have wonderful news to share about sweet Liam! Liam’s dental surgery went perfectly, and he received the care he desperately needed. During the procedure, the veterinarian performed the necessary tooth extractions and completed a full dental cleaning to ensure his teeth and gums stay healthy moving forward. Today also marked an important milestone in his recovery—his final day of food restriction. This means Liam’s stitches have healed well and he is officially past the recovery stage. Most importantly, Liam is now pain-free. After living with dental discomfort for so long, he’s finally able to eat comfortably and enjoy life again the way every cat deserves. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported Liam so far. Your generosity helped make this lifesaving procedure possible and gave him the chance to heal and feel better. However, we still need help covering the remaining costs of Liam’s veterinary care, including his surgery, medications, and follow-up treatment. If you’re able, please consider making a donation to help finish funding Liam’s care. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps ensure that cats like Liam can get the treatment they need when they need it most. Thank you for standing with Liam and helping give him the healthy, pain-free future he deserves. 3/27/26 Update Liam is doing amazing! He’s fully recovered from his dental procedure and is feeling so much better. When we noticed he was beginning to decline indoors, we made the decision to move him to a place where he could truly thrive. Liam is now safely acclimating in an enclosed catio at a new colony — and he’s already loving it. 🥹 Watching him relax and enjoy his new environment has been incredibly rewarding. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated and supported Liam along the way. Because of you, he received the care he needed and was given this second chance at a happy, comfortable life. If you’d like to continue supporting Liam’s ongoing care and help other cats like him receive lifesaving treatment, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference and helps us give more animals the futures they deserve. 4/21/26 Update Liam is finally settled in his forever home! While we had hoped he’d enjoy indoor life, it became clear he was very stressed- so we listened to his needs, not our own. We’re so happy to share that Liam has found the perfect place: a large, safe colony on a beautiful property with a dedicated human family and other kitties to call his own. He was able to fully acclimate while recovering from his dental surgery and has now been released to enjoy life as part of the colony. Because of your support, Liam received the medical care he needed and deserved- and now gets to live the life that makes him happiest. Thank you to everyone who donated and made this possible
