Bella White
Found Near A Tire Shop, 10-Lb Bella Struggling With MASSIVE Tumor—Now Fighting For Surgery #2

Bella White recently came into CAMO Rescue after being found scared and alone near a local tire shop. It was immediately clear that she was in immense pain and desperately needed help. This poor 10-lb girl was found with a massive mammary tumor that required emergency surgery. We got her in as quickly as possible and took X-rays prior to surgery to check for metastasis. The tumor was already so large that it was, sadly, safe to assume it was cancerous. Bella hasn’t had an easy life, but things are finally starting to get better. The tumor has been removed, which has eased so much of the pain she’s endured for far too long. She’s currently getting lots of rest and adjusting to her new life at the rescue. She’s even had a much-needed grooming and is looking cute as ever. Her story, however, is far from over. Little Bella still has another mass that needs to be removed, but her body needs time to heal from this most recent surgery first. With that said, we need help. This sweet girl will need another life-saving surgery, and our small rescue relies entirely on donations to make this possible. Please consider helping Bella White and giving whatever you can. She is now reveling in her newfound ability to run and play which she couldn’t do prior to coming to Camo. She's all smiles now!

TexMex is a rescue from PetSmart. After moving to ATL in pursuit of a job, I was very lonely. I've always had a penchant for black cats, and when I saw him on top of a cat tree with a thousand-yard stare, I knew he needed to get out of there. Sure enough, he had already been there for almost a year. We quickly bonded, and a year later, I acquired another black boy cat to keep him company. When I got Tex, he was flea-infested, had worms, and had gingivitis. I had warnings that his teeth would need attention, but I never had $$ after an annual $500 wellness visit for two cats. Cat Community Clinic estimates $696 for a Dental Cleaning Grade 2, which includes up to two tooth extractions. Recently, he started scratching his mouth, drooling, and stopped eating. TexMex is a lover. He adores those who will pet him and loves to be the center of attention. He likes to think he's the baddest kitty on the block, but really, he can only get the jump on his cat brother, Dante, every once in a while. As a stunt performer, money always ebbs and flows. The guild strikes, and then AI ground my income to a halt for an extended period of time. Now, with a new, wonderful addition of a baby, and the rising cost of living, we have no vet $$, but would love Tex to stay with us.

Mama has been by her human mama since birth she has had many adventures and lots of love, last year she had an emergency surgery from having pyometra and now she needs another surgery do to a tumor on her breast. Oreo Crumble’s story has taken a heartbreaking turn, and he needs us now more than ever. After his owner surrendered him three weeks ago, she changed her mind and came back to get him from CAMO. Even though it didn’t feel right, CAMO could not legally refuse to return him. They hoped he would be safe; however, shortly after, everything changed when Oreo was brutally run over. After the accident, Oreo was rushed to the emergency vet, and once again, his future was placed in the hands of CAMO Rescue. Imaging confirmed utterly devastating news—Oreo had a broken back. The emergency costs immediately started climbing into the thousands for hospitalization, X-rays, medications, and advanced diagnostics. A CT scan was performed to fully assess the severity of his spinal injury, and the decision was made that surgery was his only chance of survival. Since then, Oreo has undergone spinal surgery to stabilize his back. He is still in pain, but it is being carefully monitored and managed with pain medication, and he is resting more comfortably as he begins his long road to recovery. While the surgery was necessary, it came at a very high cost, and Oreo will require ongoing care, monitoring, and rehabilitation. Tragically, he will never walk again, but with proper support, a cart, and a committed home with endless love, he can still have a life filled with dignity. Oreo did nothing to deserve this. He is gentle, confused, and trusting despite everything he has been through. This tragic accident changed his life forever, and we are so deeply saddened for him. Now, CAMO's focus is on giving him comfort, stability, and the best quality of life possible. Please help us to cover Oreo’s extensive medical bills and the care he will need moving forward. Time has not been kind to Grandpa, affectionately known as Grandpawpaw. Not only was Grandpa woefully thin when he arrived, he lived for so long in chronic pain that it’s a testament to his resilience that he’s even still alive. His body is cruelly full of buckshot, he was anemic, and his liver was stressed—typical in cases of heavy parasite infestation, heartworm, and malnutrition and a severe case of hip dysplasia. Recently, Grandpa has developed some strange urinary tract infections that have cleared up with various antibiotics, only to reoccur again in a few months. We are continuing to test and culture his urine and it's time for another cystocentesis to collect a sterile urine sample for another culture. Surprisingly quiet for such a big hound, he does emit a deep, low “roooo” whenever he needs something—potty, water, food, etc. Being from the Deep South, he dislikes the cold; snow is alien to him, and he revels in the warmth his blankets and jammies provide for his frail, aged body. But the sweetest, most satisfying sight of all is how much he loves leaning on us and being petted. He also loves the other big hounds. He knows that he’s been rescued and that he’s both safe and well-loved now. As a registered nonprofit animal rescue, we rely on donations to help pay for the medical bills of the animals in our care. Help Felix Walk Without Pain Again

Felix has already survived more than most cats ever should. For years, he lived outdoors in a cat colony, relying on kindness where he could find it. When the colony was threatened and the cats were in danger of being harmed, Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue stepped in — giving Felix safety, stability, and a chance at a life he’d never known before. That’s when everyone realized just how special this senior boy is. Felix is gentle, affectionate, and deeply bonded to other cats. He takes his thyroid medication like a champion, tolerates arthritis treatments with quiet grace, and finds his greatest comfort curled up in a warm pile of feline friends. After everything he endured outside, he finally felt safe. Then, a few weeks ago, something changed. Felix began favoring his back leg. He was rushed to the vet the very next day, where X-rays revealed devastating news: his hip was fully dislocated. This wasn’t arthritis progression — it was a painful injury that will not heal on its own. Felix now urgently needs a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery — a procedure that will relieve his pain and allow him to walk, rest, and move comfortably again. Without it, every step hurts. This surgery is Felix’s chance to enjoy his golden years without suffering. His future depends on it. 12/25/25 Update: Surgery was a success! Felix got his Christmas Miracle on Christmas Eve! His FHO surgery went well and Felix is already walking around better. He has to go back in 4 weeks for a recheck which will determine whether he will need to go to rehab. 1/28/26 Update: UPDATE: Recheck from Felix’s FHO Surgery on Christmas Eve Felix has been on cage rest since his FHO surgery on 12/24. Yesterday, he had his recheck appointment with the surgeon and everything looks great and has now been cleared for normal activity! As he hasn’t really used that leg in months, that leg is weaker than it should be, so Felix will need to go Physical Therapy to start to get some of that muscle back. Today was his first session - he had some laser treatment and we worked on him standing and getting around on different types of services. We’ll keep you posted on his recovery! Thank you for helping him! 2/7/26 Update: Felix continues to heal with Physical Therapy! Felix just finished his 2nd PT appointment and is doing well. The doctors are happy with the progress he has made since last week’s PT appointment. As he didn’t use that leg in a few months, we need to help him get muscle and strength. Back in that leg. Thank you for following his journey! 2/20/26 Update: Felix continues to make progress! Felix is doing so well with his physical therapy which include laser treatment and physical therapy exercises. We are working hard at getting Felix to gain back some muscle that he lost:( Thank you for everyone that has supported him ❤️ 2/28/26 Update Felix has now completed about four physical therapy sessions following his Christmas Eve FHO surgery — and we are so happy to share that he continues to gain strength in his leg. After months of not using that leg prior to surgery, rebuilding muscle has been one of the biggest goals of his recovery. With consistent laser treatments, guided exercises during PT, and a dedicated at-home routine between appointments, Felix is making steady progress. We have a series of exercises we work on with him at home to help strengthen that back leg and improve his balance and flexibility. And it’s paying off. The most exciting update? Felix can now jump up onto the couch on his own! For a senior boy who once took every step in pain, this is huge. Seeing him move more confidently — choosing to climb up next to his favorite people and feline friends — is exactly why this surgery and continued rehab were so important. Felix still has additional therapy sessions ahead, and ongoing rehabilitation is essential to help him regain as much muscle and long-term stability as possible. Physical therapy, follow-up care, and continued monitoring all come with costs that add up quickly for a small rescue caring for medically complex cats. Pierre
A New Year, A New Hope for Pierre

After every New Year’s Eve, countless dogs are left lost and terrified, and found miles away from home in fear from fireworks, unsure of what comes next. This is exactly what happened to four-year-old Pierre. Just days into the new year, Pierre was found lying injured on train tracks near McAllen, TX. Despite being microchipped, his family has not responded, so CAMO Rescue stepped in to give him the care he urgently needed. Pierre was suffering from severe jaw trauma that required immediate, lifesaving surgery, which he has already undergone. Unfortunately, the damage goes far beyond a simple fracture. He is dealing with TMJ complications and currently has an external fixator that will need ongoing adjustments. In total, Pierre will need three separate surgeries to fully repair the trauma he’s endured. Between emergency care, diagnostics, CT scans, and surgeries, his medical costs have already run the rescue into the thousands. While Pierre is recovering well, his journey is far from over. He will need months of intensive therapy and specialized feeding to help his jaw heal and regain normal function. We are fully committed to giving this sweet boy every chance at a pain-free life! Duncan was most likely dumped by his owners and found as a stray by a kill shelter in Southern Ohio. He was given no medical attention at the overcrowded shelter and came to us with a number of aliments including Lyme disease, hypothyroidism, liver issue, high blood protein, rotting teeth and a rare parasitic worm that infested his sinus cavities. Now, as a ages, Duncan's heart is enlarging and he has developed kidney disease. We need to perform a cystocentisis to get a sterile urine sample to check on the state of Duncan's kidneys. One of the kindest canines we’ve ever taken in, Duncan exudes sweetness in all he does. With all that he's been through, he doesn’t let anything get him down. He loves attention, loves to be held and loves to be petted. Duncan is also wonderful with the other dogs at the Sanctuary and has many canine friends. Duncan’s soulful eyes and his willingness to learn new things are what makes this boy special. His charming ways just pull people in and they can’t but smile when he’s around. A beauty with brindle markings encasing his back like a pair of wings, Boomer is 38 pounds of easygoing congeniality. Adding to his physical charm is the touch of blue, twinkling like a star in the iris of one eye, hinting paws-ibly at a celestial background. Picture a Whippet with floppy ears and that’s Boomer! But those floppy ears are prone to ear infections and when all the traditional medications failed to work, it was time to advance to the long lasting ear ointment that must be administered at the vet hospital. Always eager to pose for photos, Boomer is a particularly faithful friend and companion to the larger hounds here at the Sanctuary. Although he’s usually quiet, he’s prone to excitability in new situations. For this reason, he fares best when he’s with another hound for rides in the car and at vet appointments. Knowing little about his past, his age or his health status, we welcomed Boomer to the Sanctuary since he needed to be with people who were highly experienced with sighthounds.
