After Losing His Caregivers, Tom Waited by the Door for Food That Would Never Come

For ten long years, Tom lived in a cat colony, relying on the kindness of two devoted caregivers who made sure he was fed every single day. Over time, this gentle senior began to trust people—coming closer, accepting pets, and showing his big, loving heart. But when both of his caregivers sadly passed away, Tom was left heartbroken and hungry. Neighbors found him waiting by the door every day, hoping his friends would return with food that never came. Thankfully, Adopt A Cat Foundation stepped in to make sure Tom would never go hungry again. This sweet boy is now safe at the shelter, where he’s adjusted beautifully. He adores attention from volunteers—and never says no to mealtime! Now that Tom is finally safe, he needs some extra veterinary care to stay healthy. One of his nails has grown very thick, and the rest have become long with extended quicks, making them difficult and painful to trim without professional help. Tom also needs a full senior exam and bloodwork to ensure there are no hidden health issues after his years outdoors. Help Boston Terrier Jax with complex medical challenges

Jax’s journey has been nothing short of miraculous. When he came to us in October 2023, he was barely alive—his body torn apart from severe dog bite injuries. Since then, this brave boy has undergone multiple surgeries, including heart and jaw repairs, and has fought his way back with incredible resilience and spirit. For nearly two years, Jax has continued to amaze us. His favorite thing in the world is chasing balls and living life to the fullest—proof that even after unthinkable cruelty, joy is still possible. Recently, Jax underwent another medical challenge. Every CT scan he’s had since his rescue has shown an enlarged lymph node, which we believed was related to his past infections and trauma. To be safe, we pursued a needle biopsy—only to find new confusion instead of answers. The sample showed only normal salivary cells, meaning either the biopsy accidentally hit his salivary gland or what’s been seen all along isn’t a lymph node at all. If it is the salivary gland, we still don’t know why it swells so dramatically from time to time. More diagnostics and monitoring are needed to make sure nothing serious is being missed—and to keep Jax comfortable and healthy. Jax has already cost our small, volunteer-run rescue over $25,000 in life-saving care, and his journey isn’t over yet. Every dollar helps us cover his ongoing and future medical expenses so that he can keep doing what he loves most—chasing balls, wagging his tail, and reminding us all that love truly heals. Update 11/4/25 After a long journey filled with surgeries, recovery, and so many unknowns, Jax is stable and doing great. His recent biopsy results confirmed that his salivary glands are normal, and no further testing is needed at this time. While the lymph nodes weren’t sampled, our vet is confident that Jax is healthy and comfortable — and that’s the best news we could hope for!

Help Little Cindi Have a Great Life

Meet the cutest 3-pound Chihuahua puppy named Cindi, who will steal your heart in an instant. She was pulled from the Harris County shelter by CAMO rescue when they heard that she didn’t have any rescue interest and the shelter was no longer able to manage her pain on meds. She's only 13-weeks-old and already has a pelvic fracture, was covered in fleas and had a lot of hook worms, and needs surgery once she's stable enough. Her blood was showing that her HCT is at 26.9, and she will need a blood transfusion before surgery for her pelvis. Cindi has received capstar and dewormer already. Her blood transfusion will cost $671.55, on top of her pelvic surgery later on. CAMO rescue's emergency funds are running low, but they couldn't let Cindi down. Because of them and donors like you, she now has a chance at survival and finding a loving home. Please help us in covering the cost of Cindi's extensive medical treatments. Update 9/19/25 Little Cindi has undergone one surgery to repair one leg, which is healing beautifully! Sadly, though, she continued experiencing issues with her second broken leg, which her vets determined could not be repaired due to the extent of the damage. The plan then pivoted to physical therapy to help Cindi regain her strength, but unfortunately that too also proved ineffective—as it continued to cause her pain and discomfort. To give this girl the BEST, happiest, pain-free life she so deserved, Cindi's bad leg had to be amputated. Now, this girl is recovering as a tri-pod and it's safe to say, she's still (if not more!) the spunky, snuggly girl she was on four legs. She's just learned to do it all with one less! Her medical care, however, is now in the thousands. Every ounce of support is extremely appreciated to help Cindi get the second chance she's working so hard for! Update 9/29/25 Cindi is continuing to heal beautifully with one less leg, and she will hopefully, be up for adoption soon. Rose Was Hours from Euthanasia — Then Vets Found a Deadly Obstruction

Rose was found by a kind person seeking shelter under a car, sick, weak, and struggling to breathe. She had a severe upper respiratory infection and what rescuers call “mosquito nose,” an allergic skin condition from mosquito bites. The good Samaritan did the right thing and brought her to the local municipal shelter so she could get help — but heartbreakingly, the shelter added her to the euthanasia list because of her condition. When Adopt A Cat Foundation saw her urgent plea, we couldn’t let her story end there. We rushed to save her and brought her straight to our trusted veterinarian for care. At first, it seemed her infection was the main issue — but when Rose refused to eat, our vet knew something more serious was happening. Exploratory surgery revealed the shocking cause: a piece of cloth lodged deep in her intestines. We can’t imagine how long she’s been suffering in silence, trying to survive with this painful obstruction The surgery likely saved Rose’s life, but she’s not out of the woods yet. She remains hospitalized while the veterinary team monitors her swelling and irritation from the obstruction. Adopt A Cat Foundation is asking for your help to cover Rose’s emergency surgery and hospitalization costs. Update 10/12/25 Rose is finally out of the hospital and back at the rescue—safe, cozy, and surrounded by love. 💕 She’s been soaking up every bit of attention, curling into laps and purring like she never wants to let go. While we’re so relieved to see her home, Rose’s recovery is far from over. She’ll need follow-up appointments and ongoing post-op care to make sure she continues healing properly. For now, she’s still rocking her cone to protect her incision and prevent any setbacks—and she’s handling it like the gentle little trooper she is. Update 11/12/25 Rose is thriving! This brave girl has come such a long way—from fighting to survive under a car to now living her best life surrounded by love. Rose absolutely adores people—she’s the first to greet you with head bumps and happy purrs, and she melts into every cuddle. Our vet also shared some wonderful news: based on how great her teeth look, Rose is likely younger than we initially thought!

Thunder a 3 or 4 week kitten came up to me at my parents house and my daughter called me a few days ago for me to take care of him. Hes been fine till day before and he started having diarrhea then last night he was lifeless. I've stayed up all night rubbing him and him laid in towel on heating pad and me using dropper for milk. Hello there! I met and adopted my sweet baby boy Stanley a year and a half ago. He was outside my apartment building wandering around. He couldn't have been older than 5, maybe 6 weeks old. The moment he saw me he instantly climbed up my lap in hopes to reach my loving arms..and he did! He means everything to me. I've lost so much in this life, but i refuse to lose him. Please please help me🙏 Stanley has kidney stones. He had a UTI that unfortunately developed into stones. He is in extreme pain and had been for weeks now. I am so afraid he may reach toxicity and I will lose him. I don't know what else to say, I am swallowing my pride here, but I literally have no more options. Stanley is the sweetest baby boy ever! He is so sweet with everyone he meets. He loves to play fetch and go for walks with me. He is my special boy. I love him beyond belief and will do anything to bring him back to health. I can't lose him. He is my whole world. I lost my job due to a company closure many months ago and have been in financial turmoil since. If someone were to help I would be forever in your debt. Hamlet needs help after being found tied to a stop sign, blind and in pain

Hamlet is a young, gentle dog who has already been through unimaginable suffering. He was found tied to a stop sign, completely alone and blind. Rescuers soon learned why — both of Hamlet’s corneas had ruptured, likely after a long period of untreated infection or trauma. The pain he must have endured is beyond words. Hamlet sat helpless and blind, waiting for someone to care. Thankfully, Animalluvrs Dream Rescue stepped in just in time to save him. Hamlet was immediately taken for emergency care, where veterinarians determined that his eyes could not be saved. He underwent surgery to remove both eyes, freeing him from the constant agony he had silently endured. Now, Hamlet is recovering and beginning to heal — not just physically, but emotionally. Even without sight, he’s showing everyone his resilient spirit: wagging his tail, leaning in for affection, and trusting the humans who finally showed him kindness. When Baw Baw Animal Welfare found him, Rex was lying on the street in excruciating pain after a terrible accident. His eye had protruded, his jaw and upper facial bones were fractured, and he was bleeding, unable to eat or drink. His cries of agony were heartbreaking. Alone and suffering, he had no one—until we reached him. As if this wasn’t enough, Rex had also been battling TVT (Transmissible Venereal Tumor), a contagious cancer in dogs. Despite his painful condition, we rushed him into emergency surgical correction to stabilize him and begin his treatment. Today, Rex is under intensive care for TVT and wound healing management. Once his wounds fully recover, our veterinary team will perform pin placement surgery for joint stabilization. Until then, he remains under close observation and supportive treatment, receiving the love and care he has been denied for so long. Rex’s recovery will be long and costly—but his life is worth every effort. With your support, we can continue his treatments, manage his wounds, and ensure he receives the surgery that will allow him to live without pain. ** Update 10/23/25 ** Rex recently underwent surgery on one of his eyes, and he’s now on medication to help with both the wound and the pain. He’s being cared for closely, surrounded by gentle hands and constant love. Each day, we’re hoping to see a little more healing—and a little more comfort—for this brave boy who’s been through so much.

Give hope to Rescued Kitten Juniper as She Battles a Mysterious Illness

Juniper is a tiny kitten with a big spirit. She was trapped at a car shop and brought into rescue through Community Cat Medical Fund to begin her journey toward a better life. After her spay, though, Juniper’s foster quickly realized something was wrong—her temperature spiked to a dangerous 104°. She was rushed to the vet for bloodwork and hospitalization so she could be closely monitored. Despite the care she received, her fever continued to rise and fall unpredictably, with no clear cause. After thorough testing, Juniper was given the difficult diagnosis of fever of unknown origin. This sweet little kitten has already been through so much, and while her vets work hard to stabilize her, the cost of her care has added up quickly. Juniper’s emergency bill poses a heavy financial burden for our small, volunteer-run rescue. Community Cat Medical Fund is committed to ensuring that Juniper gets every chance to recover and grow into the healthy, playful kitten she deserves to be. But we cannot do this without you. Update 10/1/25 After a week at the vet, Juniper was fortunately stabilized enough to go to her foster home—and she hasn't had any other fevers! We have since run further blood work, which thankfully did not show any major concerns. Though Juniper's physical recovery is steadily on the mend, we are desperately trying to recover the funds required for her emergency care—which totaled over $1,050 for over a week spent at the vet. It's not an easy sum for a small rescue, and we could truly use all the help we can get. Every single ounce of support is so very appreciated, by Juniper AND by us. Update 11/12/25 We’re thrilled to share that Juniper has fully recovered! This brave little kitten has come such a long way since her frightening fever and long hospital stay. Her energy is back in full force—she’s playful, curious, and always ready to chase a toy or climb into a cozy lap for snuggles. Juniper’s personality has truly blossomed in her foster home. She loves attention, purrs the moment you pick her up, and adores playing with other cats. After everything she’s overcome, she’s now healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever family!
