Freckles

Freckles came into our rescue as a friendly community cat that his caretaker begged us to rehome as he was so sweet and deserved a life better than living outside on a busy street. Freckles has lost weight as we wait to collect the funds needed for his dental procedure that will relieve the pain he is in at the moment. We are giving him some pain meds to try and manage the pain that he is experiencing due to the needed dental extractions. Freckles just wants to be loved. In spite of the pain he is living in, he is just a sweet boy that wants to cuddle on your lap while you give him pets. His foster is heartbroken as she can’t take away the pain Freckles will be undergoing a dental procedure to remove the infected teeth and relieve him from the painful stomatitis. He has a wonderful vet that will be performing the procedure. Dr Alber is a great vet partner to our rescue. Florida has an extended kitten season and all of our financial resources are committed to spaying and neutering cats and kittens. We rarely have additional funds available to help cats like Freckles so we have to rely on fundraising to cover the cost of additional procedures
Lady

Lady was helpless, going into labor in a parking lot, hoping someone would save her. That's when Truly All Cats Trapping and Rescue members spotted the friendly mama cat and realized what was happening. They raced her to a foster home to have her kittens. "Unfortunately, disaster struck when the first kitten started coming out backward and got stuck in the birth canal," Dawn H., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. Her foster parent rushed Lady to the animal hospital, where she needed an emergency C-section. Tragically, none of her precious babies survived. The sweet girl went back to her foster home to recover. But disaster struck again a week later! Lady started feeling ill, and her sutures opened up, exposing her internal organs. Her foster parent raced her back to the ER, where Lady was dashed to the operating room for another emergency surgery. Lady is now back in her foster home, recuperating again and showing her kind, gentle soul. "You can see how affectionate she is and how starved for love she was living on the streets," Dawn says. "She reaches out her paw to show how much she loves to be pet and doesn't want you to stop." Lady will never have to worry about being fed, loved, or having a comfortable resting place, but the rescue is worrying about how to pay all of Lady's hospital bills. They rely on donations to help with these tough cases and hope you'll give to help Lady live happily ever after -- without the unneutered Prince Charming who played a role in starting this all in the first place!

When the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge crew raced Scooter to the animal hospital, he looked miserable. "His wounds were older, already having abscessed and burst," Amy H., with the refuge, tells Waggle. "He was dehydrated and required immediate hospitalization." Some of Scooter's injuries were so infected and extensive that he needed surgery to repair them. "Two wounds near his face, one on his shoulder and one on his leg," Amy says. "His wounds were gaping where the layers of skin had split." What surprised everyone was that despite Scooter's condition and obvious pain, he remained extremely friendly, bright, and alert, hopeful for better days. Please help the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge get Scooter the lifesaving care he needs.

In July of 2015, I arrived at the guide dog training facility to meet my third guide dog. She was presented to me by the trainer who told me that she was a black lab named Cami. We live with Cami’s sister Gem, guide to my best friend. Cami is a bundle of curiousity who loves treats of all kinds and hording all of the chew bones, her favorite toys. Cami loves to get belly rubs from everyone in the house! When she wants something, she will put her paw in my hand or my knee. When I’m rubbing her belly, she likes to hold my other hand in her mouth. She likes to sleep in her crate which is next to my bed. She gets as close to the side by my bed as possible. She loves to play with her sister best of all! She likes for me to cuddle her. She secretly has a friendship with our 3 year old cat. She can be quite talkative, but only on her terms. She loves to play tug and is very competitive. Of utmost importance is her work as a guide dog which is superb! She has kept me safe for 8 years now. Durring a recent vet visit to address her chronic allergies, which had greatly improved with treatment, a lump was discovered. Upon investigation, it was determined that she had a massed celled tumor which is malignant. I was heartbroken. How could I help my companion who had helped me for all these years? The surgery for the removal of the tumor and testing is extremely costly and I have very little discretionary income. I know that she could have several good years ahead of her. She has always been there for me, and now I want to be. there for her helping her to get well.

Kitty Foo came into our heart & llives 1 mon ago. We found her abandoned in the city. She came running up to my fiancé & I meowing incessantly, rubbing at the bottom of our legs begging for love and attention (& most likely food). She’s now apart of the family joining me, my fiancé & my tuxedo cat Scootch. They get along just like brother & sisters. She’s been a happy affectionate fluffball since Kitty foo is a happy affectionate cuddle buddy. She’s out on a good amount of weight & seems to be healthy besides her eye issue. She quickly found her place in the house as the spoiled youngest member of the family. She loves to lay at the end of the bed & lounge most of the day. She is very vocal & loves food time. She loves to sit at the window & watch the critters go by. Kitty foo has been a little princess since day one. She falls asleep sitting up & chatters her teeth at the window when watching critters go by. She’s loves all foods & is super vocal. Especially at food time. We often have conversations. Unfortunately we don’t know much about her medical history. When she first came to us she was very thin almost every bone in her body could be felt. We know she is not neutered and is still pretty young judging by how white her teeth are. my fiancé lost his job due to Covid. We both work side jobs for extra income but we barely are able to make our monthly bills. To have Kitty Foos eye fixed would mean everything. She came into our lives for a purpose & I want to be able to give her a happy healthy life.
Norman
Norman is a 7-year-old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $486 for Surgery for Removal of Mast Cell Tumors.

Hungry and with no one to care for him, poor Norman started wandering around a construction site, where the crews were tossing him food. Norman was finally rescued and the mast cell tumor on his neck was removed. Norman was then transferred to our Sanctuary so that we could provide the specialized, lifetime care he needs. A hound that loves everyone, Norman is as sweet and gentle as they come. He is a friend to all the hounds at The Sanctuary and is adored by his caretakers. Although he's dealing with cancer and came to us with a heavy intestinal parasite load that's been treated, Norman doesn't let this get him down. Norman loves to snuggle with his caretaker and take long naps on her bed, squeezing his little body as close to hers as he can get. And, if other hounds want to join in, he's even happier. No one would ever suspect that Norman has cancer and he's an inspiration to us all. We've started Norman on medications that will help his body cope with the histamine reactions caused by the mast cells. We are also using a combination of traditional and holistic medicines to give Norman every chance possible for a comfortable life. Sadly, Norman developed two more tumors that need to be removed. As a non-profit animal sanctuary and hospice, we rely on donations to provide the best medical care possible. We've already raised funds for many of Norman's lab tests, but we need help with his surgery bills. Can you help this sweet soul?
Dusty

Two weeks after we had moved into our current home we had heard some cries coming from under the patio in our back yard and later found him abandoned. We learned quickly how to care for a neonate thanks to YouTube and The Kitten Lady. He was just under a week old when we brought him in and started caring for him around the clock. Dusty is the welcome wagon in the family! He absolutely loves everyone and doesn't pick fights with the other cats. He tolerates the dog and had even welcomed him in until the dog started to bite (in a playful way). He is a momma's boy through and through and has to have his nightly cuddles with her before she calls it a night. I think fall is his favorite season! He is an indoor cat but he will try to chase the leaves as they blow by the front door. He's afraid of the gardeners and will hide either beind the bathroom door or the toilet and if he's excited he will do this little head roll that is absolutely adorable! Anytime he jumps up to something he makes this sound and his sneezes sound like a little woof. Dusty was diagnosed with gingivitis and stomatitis and has been in for one operation already but has to go in again to have more teeth removed as he is still in a lot of pain. He has already lost a bit of weight since being diagnosed in January. Our veterinarian has said that he will do the surgery for the same price as the last one. We had another cat go in for surgery prior to Dusty going in and her surgery was twice as much as his. We had also had a fridge go out on us and a repair guy didn't fix the problem. We literally live paycheck to paycheck with very little wiggle room.
Feral Kitten 1

Little feral cat #1 was born to one of AARF's most dependable feral colony females after she was crafty enough to avoid the last TNR roundup. The kitten is around 3-4 months old and is unaltered. He lives with his family (mom, 3 siblings, and a big group of aunts and uncles) in their community cat territory (1-2 mile radius) behind the rescue! Little feral cat #1 has the best of both worlds. He gets fed wet food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, has constant access to crunchies, and of course clean water behind the rescue. In addition to the domestic perks, he also gets to roam free with his feral family, catching bugs, chasing butterflies, and learning how to "cat" in the wild! Little feral cat #1 is the bravest of the bunch! This kitten was the first of his siblings to pop his ears over the rock wall, first to venture up the stairs, and first to accompany his mom to the food bowls. He's still shy of humans, but is learning where the good stuff comes from morning and night! AARF knows one key to preventing pet overpopulation and homelessness is supporting local community cats through feral feeding and organized TNR efforts. Little feral #1 was born as a result of an abandoned house pet "canoodling" with females in the community. AARF will work with its partner vets, The Village Vets and Loving Touch Animal Center, to make his spay possible and prevent future kittens! As tough times squeeze pet parents' wallets, AARF'S facility and foster homes are now full of more animal surrenders than ever. These unexpected intakes require expensive veterinary care to rehabilitate for adoption.
Gordito
Gordito is a 7-month-old Mix in Hamden, CT, who needs $2,000 for ICU care for Leptospirosis Treatment.

Gordito came to the rescue with his sister from down South. Gordito is at the rescue waiting for his forever home. He is well cared for and loved by all the volunteers who take care of the dogs at the rescue. Gordito gets along and is lovable with all of his rescue family. He gets along with other dogs and is gentle and loving to his human caregivers. He loves to play ball and him and his sister can play all day. They are just full of energy! Gordito’s loving nature makes him so special. He is easy going loves to play, sleep and eat like puppies love to do. You couldn’t ask for a better companion. Poor Gordito was diagnosed with Leptospirosis which made him so sick and can be deadly. He needed to stay at the hospital for veterinary medicine getting around the clock care until he was finally out of the woods. The rescue is a non profit organization that relies on 100% donations. They will take every measure to save any dog that comes to the rescue but the veterinary costs are high and the rescue needs help to cover an unexpected illness like this.
