Fripp

Fripp is a 1 year old American Shorthair in Johns Island, SC, who needs $10,000 for Amputation.

Johns Island, SC

Our sweet cat has been a beloved member of our family since she was a kitten. She lives indoors with us and is surrounded by love every day. She has always been healthy, playful, and affectionate, making this sudden medical emergency completely unexpected and heartbreaking for our family. Only a year old. Our cat was rushed to Charleston Veterinary Referral Center after suddenly losing the use of her back leg due to a blood clot. Veterinarians believe it was caused by a transient heart condition, possibly triggered by an infection. Although her heart is improving, her leg cannot be saved, and an amputation is medically necessary to give her the best chance at a full recovery. She is more than a pet...she is family. She greets us every morning, follows us from room to room, and loves curling up beside us at the end of the day. She has the sweetest personality and brings so much comfort and happiness to our home. We can't imagine life without her. She owns the house and will never leave your sight. This emergency happened without warning, and the cost of her hospitalization and surgery is far beyond what we can afford. Any assistance would help us give her the life-saving care she needs and bring her home where she belongs. We are incredibly grateful for any support.

Max

Max is a 9 year old Beagle in Hilton Head Island, SC, who needs $8,000 for Electrochemotherapy or ECT.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC

Max came into our lives in the most unexpected way. We found him at a kennel where he had been living for months after his previous owners dropped him off to be boarded and never came back. Despite everything, he was still sweet, active, and full of love. His long legs and gentle eyes reminded us of a little deer, and that made us think of the dog from The Grinch—so Max became his name. Max had a lump removed from his hind leg, which was diagnosed as soft tissue sarcoma. We met with a veterinary oncologist who recommended Electrochemotherapy. According to the specialist, ECT gives Max an excellent chance of preventing the cancer from returning. His X‑rays showed no signs of spread, which means this treatment could give him many more healthy, happy years. From the moment we brought him home, Max has been loved by everyone who meets him, and he loves everyone right back. He’s scared of loud noises and will run inside at the slightest shift of the wind. He howls along with fire truck sirens. He chases birds and squirrels with pure joy—he even caught a squirrel once and immediately let it go. The surgery to remove the lump, follow‑up visits, X‑rays, bloodwork, and specialist consultations have already drained the savings we set aside for emergencies. On top of that, we’ve faced multiple unexpected home and car crises.

Beau is a 4 year old Poodle in Charleston, SC, who needs $10,000 for MRI and IVDD Surgery.

Charleston, SC

I’ve had Beau since he was just five months old, and we have been inseparable ever since. He came into my life at a time when I truly needed him most, and he has been so much more than a dog to me. He gives me a reason to get up every day, brings constant comfort and joy, and has been the very best part of my life and my family’s. Beau is a 4-year-old poodle who suddenly went from a slight limp to being unable to use his back legs overnight. After evaluation, doctors strongly suspect IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). He is currently under the care of Dr. Sarah Dalzell at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center, where urgent MRI and possible surgery are needed. Beau is incredibly loving, gentle, and emotionally intuitive — he always seems to know when someone needs comfort and will quietly stay by our side. He follows me from room to room, loves curling up next to me at night, and greets my family with pure excitement and affection whenever he sees them. Beau brings joy, laughter, and comfort to everyone who knows him. I work hard to give Beau a good life, but the cost of his MRI and possible surgery is more than I can manage alone. Getting him the care he needs would mean everything to me and give him the chance to walk, play, and live the happy life he deserves.

Hendrixx came into my life when I was just 19. He just turned 9 and has lived with me in multiple different states and travelled across the US 4x. He is truly a military brat! He was diagnosed with AGASACA on September 5th 2025. We have travelled far and wide for treatments. He received radiation at Charlotte Veterinary Specialist Center and he receives Chemotherapy at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center. Henny is the most special soul. He looks scary but he would never hurt a fly. He loves booty and belly scratches, good food, and cuddling. He is an extension of light for everyone who meets him. He’s gentle, quiet, loving, resilient and makes the worst day the best when he climbs in your arms. He loves going to grandmas house and spending time with my friends and his fellow doggy (and cat) friends I have a fixed income that is being eaten up with his vet bills. We have moved from Minot, North Dakota to Glen burnie, Md to recently Charleston, Sc Last week I noticed she was not acting like herself (red eyes, heavy breathing and not greeting me). I took her to the emergency vet back in Md who stated she has low platelets and a fever due to moving that next morning they gave me antibiotics and sent us home. Today I took her back due to her not eating or drinking water and ultimately declining. She surely is not shy when it comes to meeting new people. I am a college student who just moved into a new place in a new state last week. He’s undergoing extensive diagnostics and treatments—bloodwork, ultrasound, IV support, and more. The costs have already added up quickly, and there’s still a long road ahead. Blitz is patient, loving, and silly in the most endearing ways. He loves to chase toy mice, sunbathe in his favorite window spot, and follow me from room to room just to be near. When someone in the family is sad, he’s right there with cuddles and nose boops. He’s especially close to me, we have a bond that words can’t describe. He’s my shadow, my emotional support, and my heart. This has been one of the most emotionally and financially overwhelming times of my life. Charleston, SC

Herbert has been a part of our life for 1 year now- we celebrated his 1st birthday at the end of April. He was adopted last year in Georgia and then we moved for a job when he was just 3 months old. We now live in Charleston, South Carolina and spend our time playing at dog parks, charming strangers, and bringing joy to those around us. We are seeking help to treat a complicated case that brings endless questions and hopefully soon answers. Herbert was admitted to the hospital BluePearl June 25 and was transferred to Charleston Veterinary Referral Center (CVRC) June 29th. He is in a very fragile state currently and needs additional supports to find the answers. His case is an anomaly none of the vets have seen before. Herbert is special because he brings love and joy to all those that he meets. He loves meeting new dog friends and his favorite pal is a great dane who dwarfs him. He loves belly rubs, playing chase with his ball, and cuddling with his dog brothers. Herbert loves following his mom around and shadows her everywhere she goes looking for a cuddle or quick squeeze of affections. You are always told you should prepare for your pets needs, but you’re never prepared when those costs greatly exceed the realm of what you ever imagined needing. All we want is for Herbie to be better and I’m devastated that we may have to stop his care before he is better.

Ellie is my 7 year old redheaded golden retriever. We live in SC and she has one big sister, Jenny, an 11 year old dachshund terrier. She was once very active, loved to run and play. Now her activity is limited to going out to do her business. Walks aren’t possible. She no longer stands at her bowl to eat, but has to sit. Other times, she even lays down or has someone hold her bowl. Ellie has torn ligaments in both of her knees and requires surgery to repair them. Her left knee is worse than her right so that will be the one we want to repair first. She is being treated by Charleston Veterinary Referral Center In Charleston, about two hours from our home. Ellie’s favorite toy has always been her lamby, as you can see in the pictures, but she loves all of her fluffy toys. She is a love bug and loves to snuggle. She can be a bit of a doofus, but we love that about her. Big sister Jenny has been her best friend for her whole life. But she has a special fondness for Grampy. Ellie’s knees have been bothering her for a couple of months, but we have only recently confirmed that she needs surgery. This is an unexpected expense for me, and not one that I am able to afford without assistance, as my income alone is not sufficient.

North Charleston, SC

Please meet Onni. He is the sweetest, smartest puppy I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! I met Onni walking home from the local store. He was in a pen with 7 or 8 other puppies. All of the females had, had their ears 'home cropped' Another words cut with kitchen scissors and sown back together with fishing line. All of the puppies had bloated belly's. All except 1. That 1 was Onni! 4 days after bringing him home, I had to rush him to the ER where he was diagnosed with Parvo. The vet billed totaled over $5k! And all I had was $1,000. So the vet sent us home with an IV, and meds. We are crossing our fingers but things are not looking up. He continues to have sever diarrhea and refuses to eat or drink. Onni blows my mind! 3 days after bringing him home he knew to sit and wait by the door to go potty or come back in. Even now as sick he is, he will walk to the door and sit yo be let out. And Yes I have only had him 6 days today! He loves getting and giving kisses. And watching TV. He likes his chew, and when my son takes him out to pay ball. Onni was a very unexpected friend! I understand that, how I got him was not ideal, but if you had seen those puppies you would understand I just wanted to give this one his best chance! Idid have a little money saved, but spent everything to pay the vet and Uber to and from.

Wilmington, NC

Indo came into my life as a puppy and I fell instantly in love. Indo goes everywhere with me from work to the store, he's my best friend. It's just he and I. Indo is not your typical lab but an old soul. He's only 4 years old but most people think he's much older. He is loved by everyone. When the kids in the neighborhood see me pull in they chase my car calling his name. Indo herniated a disc in his neck (6th and 7th vertebrae) and had to have emergency surgery. He is currently at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center which is a 4 hour drive from where I live. Prognosis is good but he is not currently walking. He weighs 110 lbs so recovery is going to be hard for him. The vet wants to keep him a few more days in the hospital to manage his pain and get him walking Indo is not your typical lab. He's easy going, loves to lay around, loves to swim but HATES a bath. Everyone that meets him loves him. He's stubborn, just like me, and if he doesn't want to do something he will not do it. On our walks he will randomly lay down on the side walk and refuse to move. People will laugh at him as they walk by and sometimes I'm sure they are laughing at me. It's just me and Indo. I work a commission based job so sometimes things aren't always easy. Living where I do the rent is rather high, keeps going up, and is a lot for a single person to afford. Indo is my best friend and having him healthy and back by my side is all I want

Over the past week, Josie has gone from the happy playful dog that she is to a dog who is unable to move on her own. She has been admitted to the pet hospital for an MIR and possible surgery to correct the problem. Josie is more than a pet to our family. She is a member of the family and a travel partner. When she is home, she cuddles up beside you and loves on you unconditionally. She is able to know when you are having a bad day or when you are sick and gives extra snuggles at those times. My wife and I are both school teachers and out son, who just turned one, is in daycare while we are working. When my friend posted about her it was love at first sight. My husband(then boyfriend) and I were getting ready to go on a trip but I asked if we could meet her. We knew as soon as we met the dog for us. With boundless energy Honey Biscuits filled our home & family with love and laughter. Even those that were not dog lovers could not help to adore this sweet goofy girl. Honey Biscuits cheers up anyone around her when they are down. She helped me get through a Double Mastectomy and then my battle with COVID in March 2020 which turned into long COVID. Without any official training Honey Biscuits on her own became my much needed Cardiac alert Dog. I know suffer from Postural Hypertension, Vertigo and Falls. Honey Biscuits alerts me when needed. We adopted him and it was love at first cuddle for us and the girls, Aleah 4, Alessa 5. He and Peaches, their female cat have finally bonded and cuddle together to sleep. The girls ride Ziggy around in their baby carriage, carry him around like a baby, and he even plays in the bath with them, something most cats won't do. He's sweet and gentle and much loved even though he's only been with us for 3 months. Ziggy gives hugs and loves to cuddle. The first time I met him, he curled up on my chest and went to sleep purring. Ziggy is sweet & gentle and the purr-fect cat for our girls. He loves baths with the girls and will play with them in the tub, let them carry him around like a baby and fall asleep riding around in their baby carriage. He never hisses or scratches and happily comes to and cuddles up with the girls or us. He loves to be held and petted and it's so sweet to watch him with the girls. Shortly after adopting Ziggy, he was treated for a severe bladder infection and then a bad case of worms. We recently noticed he was having trouble breathing & took him to the vet. They did xrays & found that he has a diaphramatic hernia where his intestines are pushing into his chest cavity, making it hard for him to breathe. An expensive surgery or euthanasia are our only options per the vet. My daughter is an unemployed mother of 3, with the oldest, Alessa, being disabled due to complications at birth. We adopted my dear Golden nugget, Finn 4th of July weekend. His purpose was to help heal my broken heart after my darling 7yo, Chewie passed suddenly. But instead, 10days after bringing him home, we were met with a slew of medical conditions, bills & hospital stays in order for Finn to stay with us ❤️‍🩹 You can find him cuddled up with Mom or harassing his 2yo brother, Benny (also a Golden Retriever). Because of his illness, he hasn’t be able to explore much outside of his home, but loves playing ball & in the sprinklers and let’s not forget ALL THE CAR RIDES 😌 Finn makes me smile the most when he sits patiently for me to finish making his food then hops over to his bowl! He feels most secure when he’s cuddled up for bedtime. The most recent hospital stay came a CT scan diagnosis of a rather large Extrahepatic portal systemic shunt (portal-caval). Because of the size of the shunt, the surgeon will need to go with the cellophane bands that will induce inflammation, gradually closing the shunt with scar tissue. He will need treated at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center. Unfortunately due to all the unexpected medical expenses we have encountered since adoption, this surgery is basically unaffordable for us. Without it, we were told his life expectancy is 1-2 years maybe.

Daisy has an older sister, Maggie, who misses her and their daily cuddles in the sunlight. Daisy is a bit of an odd one who likes to roll around in our dirty laundry and will play fetch with her ball until her tongue is hanging out the side of her mouth. Daisy loves any and everyone who will play fetch with her but she especially loves her parents and sleeps with them every night. However, when they leave for work she also loves to cuddle with their human children until they are more awake and ready to throw the ball for her. She also loves car rides with the family and likes to take turns sticking her nose out each window. She has the best nose and can find any treat no matter how hard we try to hide them. She loves to howl and tell everyone where her treats are hidden or when she wants attention. She also likes to play tug of war with her sister Maggie, but usually lets her win. She also likes to throw her treats in the air like they are a toy or get us to throw them for her. Dr. Beth Tynan and the veterinary team at Charleston Veterinary Referral Center have been treating Daisy's collapse episodes that began on July 30th and have slowly escalated into seizures and lethargy. They believe that Daisy has a neurological condition but cannot be sure without a spinal tap analysis and MRI. She is an integral part of our family and we want her happy and healthy again at home. Daisy is young and has always been healthy. This was completely unexpected and we have already spent thousands and are struggling to afford the diagnostic tests and care she requires. Our house has been quiet and lonely without her lively presence, wagging tag, and cuddles.

Mozart was rescued from euthanasia at 5 months old on 3/3/09 when I worked at vet clinic. He had a prolapsed rectum about 8-12inches! Once he was old enough, Mo became a therapy reading dog and passed his AKC k9 good citizen test. Later, he answered the call to become my service dog, helping me go out in public again. Mozart lives with 2 cats and a toddler(16m) and enjoys being a nanny dog. Mozart LOVES when we foster kittens and taking care of babies of any species. Mo also enjoys watching TV and barking at all the animals. When he isn't following me room to room, Mozart tries to become one with the couch. When heading out, Mo will bulldoze his way to the car. He really does help take care of me no matter where we find ourselves. I have have put $1400 in diagnosis and running tests to get ready for surgery. Just out of additional funds at this point. Having his kidney removed would extend his life, but more importantly, improve his quality of life exponentially. Mo has been diagnosed with kidney cancer and needs to remove his cancerous kidney. We've gone through all the hoops of diagnostics to make sure he is in the best health possible. Now just surgery. The cancer hasn't spread, his BW looks great, but he is constantly urinating blood from the bad kidney. Charleston Vet Refferal Center - Dr. Rissetto Mozart is a stand out and a model of excellence to all Staffies and "pitbulls". A smart calming, caring soul. You can also play a game with Mo where you try to kiss his nose before he kisses you(like in the baby video). He is very good at this, giving kisses. When hanging out the car window, he likes to wear his Doggles and demands you load his butt in the car for him.
