York, PA

Koba is sweet boy.He always greets us when we come home with meows. We had him since he was a baby he now 3 years old.Due to financial situation because my mom was in the hospital,my mom wasn’t able to work so it was hard to get the food he needed then we had to get help with food that he shouldn’t have been eating, but we’re going to make sure we have an emergency case for next time someone in 🏥🚑 1) Koba suffered from a urinary blockage in the past. He was on a special diet. Due to me being in the 🏥. He ran out of food, I got food for just for one week that he’s not supposed to eat. But after eating that food for five days, now he’s blocked again. I know now that no matter what I have to stock up on his food in case of an 🚑 again. I don’t want him to have to go through this again at all. Koba is very close to his brother Kylo and his sisters Sakura and Daisy. They haven’t been eating much since he has been sick and was laying beside him as well. Now they pick at their food because he isn’t here right now.Koba loves catnip and toys that rattle. He don’t let you use the bathroom in peace. He will pull the door open with his paws.He will talk to you like why did you shut the door on me. I’m disabled & this help would mean to us. It would mean relief & less stress. BC I suffer from depression & PTSD. Stress is not good for me. It makes me immobile. with struggling to make ends meet. Right now it would mean the world to us to be able to save our baby boy.

Enya is a 3 year old German Shepherd Dog in Seven Valleys, PA, who needs $734 for Spay.

Seven Valleys, PA

We rescued Enya from a breeder who no longer wanted her since she didn’t want her puppies they placed her for adoption. To neglect an animal as the breeder did was heart breaking. Enya is a healthy, full spirited girl. We tried for a year to get her spayed and seemed to hit every road block. However June 2 she was able to be spayed and I am in need of financial help. Enya is a very loving and loyal girl. She has adjusted to her new family. She lives her humans and the rest of her pack. Please help raise the funds so I can continue to go to this vet. My financial issue is super difficult, my daughter has a complex medical history and money is super tight. I need to raise the funds to pay for the spay. I work countless hours of overtime and still come up short.

I got Moondog as a baby from a rescue to foster, I thought I would have him a month or so and he would get adopted. But covid put a hault on that and he has been with me ever since. My cat Moondog is a young otherwise healthy cat that has a urinary blockage. He started straining to pee this morning. I also noticed he wasn't acting like his normal-self. Moondog is a very loving cat and always vocal and talking. He always wants attention and will seek it out from everyone and everything. He loves playing with my moms Orange cat. Last year I helped my fiance buy a car by co-signing for him. We have since broken up and he defaulted on the loan. I currently have no savings and money is tight with the cost of everything. I work full-time and have 2 part-time jobs.

Middle River, MD

I got Gucci from a friend on social media he was attached since I picked him up, we currently moved 4 times since and finally found our forever home. Gucci has developed a urinary blockage and he has not been the same since, he’s still cuddling with me and purring but I know he’s not feeling his best although he’s trying. I took him to America emergency hospital to be drained unfortunately I could not afford the other treatment that he needs to survive Gucci is a talker, he talks to me every single day, he's shy at first but I’ve learned once you let him sniff you he’ll put his head in your hands to pet him, he is a cat that you have to have patience with if you want to touch him but once he gives you that permission he’ll be purring and rubbing all against you. All my family members love how loving Gucci is and knows he means everything to me I’m currently on a fixed income, I’m living paycheck to paycheck and was just about to get Gucci right with everything when unfortunately this happened. I recently moved to the area for a family emergency and since then week after week I’ve been experiencing hardships

Baltimore, MD

I have had Raiah her whole life. I searched for her and found her with a breeder in Cumberland, MD. She is 14 yrs old and May 10th she will be 15 yrs old. She was the exact sex, color and breed that I wanted. She has been with me for my twenties and has been present for everything. I am grateful that I am never alone. I used to have a smaller Yorkie but she passed in 2024 at 15. I love my dogs. Currently Raiah has dental disease. I was unaware of how serious it was. I have recently spent more time at home and I’ve had more time to focus on her fully. I noticed that she had two abscesses in her mouth and they drained. I was informed that her gums are thin and her teeth are fragile and need to be removed. I hate that I was unaware to notice before but now i see she’s in pain. Please Help My dog has been apart of my families lives for 14 years. She is basically the child I don’t have. I have taken her everywhere and she has always been present. She is around holidays my family has a bunch of photos of her. I just lost my 15 yr old yorkie in 2024. They were a pair and I would take them see take photos with Santa and the easter bunny. She has tolerated me for years. She has has my ❤️ I have had Raiah her whole life protecting her from everything I could. I’ve helicopter mom’d Raiah since birth and I’m pretty proud that she is still healthy and still full of life. I’m not ready to lose her, especially not now. I am currently unemployed.

Nai'Jah Little- Baby Jones came into my families lives through Garnet his gran-mother. She walked towards one of my children for assistance. My children called me at work in 2023 while I was working in the medical field. Garnet gave birth to four kittens that my children assisted with her birthing process. As the second generation from Garnet became older, they created two litters. Naijah was born Nai'Jah was referred to Jarrettsville Veterinary Clinic by Festival Veterinary Clinic for a chronic urinary incontinence diagnosis. The doctors at Festival Vet in Bel Air, Maryland, called around to find a vet who could assist us in caring for Nai'Jah with limited financial resources to pay for his medical care. On March 19, we drove to Jarrettsville for an emergency procedure. They have helped us Nai'Jah's is loved by my children and myself. He is an adept cat that corresponds to us either by nodding his head or winking his eye. He will call out with a particular sound to alert us that he requires our direct attention. My daughter made him a home-made stem toy. I also use fisher price toys for stem building and coherence to enhance sound and light recognition within our world to bridge. I have been out of work since 2025 due to my bone density. I do have my own business, but it is still in the fundamental primary stage. Currently I am a representative for my childrens' fixed income through SSI and Child Support. I keep being applying for my own assistance.

A couple months ago we got him checked out at rock spring veterinary and they told us he has the start of a heart murmur & recently we’ve found his behavior was abnormal to how he normally acts so we brought him in to Jarrettsville veterinary clinic and they found his bladder to be blocked, he’s dehydrated, lethargic & is going into cardiac arrest Casper is such a loving and docile cat that loves to give and receive love, super super friendly. He is so good with our other animals and our family, just such a blessing of a kitty cat and holds a special place in our hearts and everyone else in our life We are expecting our third child and would be devastated if we lost our beloved Casper as he is very cuddly with our kids. Hi! Firstly just want to say thank you to all who takes the time to read Punkin’s story! He was adopted alongside his sister at 3 months old. They did come from the same litter! We live together in my apartment and i’ve had him for 4 years 🥹I was 18 when i brought them home and i am now 23. They are my best friends. The biggest thank you and praise to the team at jarrettsville Veterinary Clinic! They are such an amazing and wonderful group of people and i couldn’t have went to a better place to have my baby treated. Punkin suffered from a blocked bladder from stones/crystals, unable to relieve his bladder he went from being his usual self to limping, laying in his litter box, and not eating or sleeping. Punkin is a crazy cat that loves to talk and lick feet. Don’t have your toes out around him or he’s gonna eat them, he doesn’t always possess the shared orange cat brain cell. He loves to play, eat treats, and lovessss attention from anyone who will give it! But he loves nothing more than his sister Boobie❤️ I am currently in school working to become a certified esthetician and also working a minimum wage job to support myself. I live on my own and don’t receive any financial support from family, so every little penny i work for goes towards all my bills and responsibilities

Seven Valleys, PA

Sasha was 9 weeks when she came into our life. She was my first German Shepherd that I have had. She has been the most loyal and loving dog I’ve ever owned. She took all my fears away from the myths I was told about Shepherds. When Sasha went for her annual a few months ago Jarrettsville Veterinary found that she had a growth/tumor on her tail, it was the size of a pea now it has grown larger than a quarter and it’s making it difficult for her to have a bowel movements, plus we are worried with how fast it grew it may be cancerous. Sasha is a very special girl. She is loyal, she is a great protector and loves to be with her humans especially “mom” which is myself. The loves to sleep and be with her brothers and sisters. Her favorite toy is the Kong Wubba. She will squeak and squeak until the squeak I gone. She has a favorite yellow blanket that she sleeps on and if she doesn’t have it she won’t go to bed. I recently lost my job in October and having several senior aged dogs, and dogs that require special needs along with the expense of regular bills I just can’t do it all. I always strive to give my pets the BEST possible life I can.

Sully came into my life as I graduated college in 2022. He lives at home with his furry and feathery friends. My mom recently lost her job so we are having a hard time making ends meet currently. Sully was diagnosed with mega esophagus so he frequently needs check ups. He currently is in need of his annual visit as well as a sick visit for a possible ear infection. His vet bills are usually quite expensive due to his size and that he needs blood work regularly for his mega and sometimes xrays to make sure he hasn’t aspirated. He is a patient at Jarrettsville Veterinary Center in Maryland. Sully is the goofiest boy I have ever known. With the noises he makes and the quirks he has. His favorite place to rest is in one of our multiple recliners. Plus he is so big he doesn’t realize his size and tries to do things that our smaller dogs try to do but sometimes he gets in a pickle. He loves to take walks on the trails behind our house. But mostly he loves to sleep and cuddle. My mom lost her job a little over a month ago and she is the main caretaker of our pets. I am fully disabled and help where I can but it is very difficult.

Hank has had a relatively healthy life up until he was just shy of 10 when he has a large cancerous mass removed on his back and a small tumor removed on his foot that was also removed. But within the last few years he has been diagnosed with osteoarthritis from his years of working, severe reflux and the beginning stages of a collapsed trachea. He is currently a patient at Jarrettsville Vet. Hank and I have an incredible bond being as he was and will always be my service dog and we are glued at the hip. He absolutely loves his large stuffies that he lugs around everywhere. He loves going in the car to go get pup cups. He was also featured in the newspaper for giving me my sedation medication for one of my surgeries. I am fully disabled and unable to work so the financial responsibility falls onto my parents which is sometimes very difficult. My mom is currently in between jobs so our income has decreased. Bubbles came to me at about 1 year old, she was "technically" a rescue. My Ex at the time got her as a companion to her friends Teacup Chihuahua, but that didn't work out. My Ex came over one day and this bouncy little puppy was following along with her. Since my ex is rarely home, I ended up keeping her. She stole my heart, and has been by my side 100% ever since. This week she start to be unable to poop, which I dismissed as "It'll pass".. but after about 2 days, she still hasn't gone, and has since been throwing anything she would try to eat.. which is scary because when she throws up her throat closes and she can't breath, and he little body would seize up and she would stumble and fall over. She's now at the point where she barely moves, or drinks. This little dog is the most loving, gentle, and sweet animal, she doesn't growl or bark unless your coming in the door. She's by my side 100% of the time, if I'm on the couch, right by me, in bed, sleeps right against me.. She's the biggest part of my world. Ever since COVID in 2020 my job has cut my hours back to the point in living below check to check, and the job market is horrible so trying to find something paying better is a nightmare. It kills me to feel like your best friend is dying in your arms and only money can her

Her symptoms came in within 3 days. Day 1 drinking a lot. Day 2 accidents, so we suspected UTI. End of the night we noticed some blood and thought she started heat. Day 3 she was leaking bloody mucus and lethargic. Maple is my heart. She was the dog we rescued after our 11 year old passed a year prior. She is my little shadow and has learned so much about gaining self confidence. This girl wouldn't even take a treat when we first got her. She is now a cuddle bug that won't leave mom's side. We found Doc at the Amish market we frequent in Pennsylvania one very hot day in June of 2021, he was in a small crate with a “free” sign on it along with three of his siblings- they had no food or water and it was near the end of their day, so we felt compelled to rescue them all. We found homes for the others, but Doc has remained with us ever since. Doc has something lodged in his belly, luckily it’s still above his intestines and we are unsure of what it could be. He’s currently hospitalized receiving treatment to hopefully avoid surgery, and help him pass it- but surgery isn’t completely off the table until we see how he reacts to the treatment he is receiving now. Doc is the best bedtime “nuzzler”, he will shove his perfect little face into your neck or armpit at almost any chance, he’s like glue for our family as he expresses his love so deeply. Doc loves crunchy tuna flakes, and playing with his brothers and giving them the sweetest and most intense grooming sessions. Our family has been without income since April, we are luckily in a new position now as my husband has just acquired a new job, but pay hasn’t come yet and we have struggled to meet our bare needs, mortgage, electric bill etc.

I officially adopted him several months later. Since he came into the lives of myself and my daughters, he has been a constant source of love, and snuggles. He now loves nothing more than a good lap to sleep in! Brady is currently at the excellent Jarrettsville Veterinary Center receiving care. He has a severe urinary tract blockage affecting his bladder and kidneys, causing him constant pain. Without crucial treatment, he will not survive. He is only 5 years old, and we are doing everything we can to keep him with us so he can experience a life full of laps and love. Brady doesn't do much, but what he does do, he does with love. His favorite place to sleep is in the bathroom sink or on my pillow (while I am laying on it). If anyone is having a bad day, he will be right there to offer his cuddle services as long as you have a soft lap and a hand to pet him with. He has been a constant source of comfort, affection and strength for myself and my girls. We just rescued "Chewy", a dog that I found abandoned by the dumpsters in my neighborhood. After his stray hold at BCAS, we brought him home. His immediate veterinary needs wiped out my savings. Brady got sick before I could build them back up.

Over the past three years, our bond has deepened, with bumi serving as a living memory of my mother for me and my daughter! Bumi was struggling to pee and dripping pee and blood, that’s when I took him to BluePearl where they charged me 1800 dollars to drain him out, put in a catheter and keep him overnight. All seemed well until the next night after we had picked him up he had clogged again. BluePearl refused to treat him without payment so I had to wait all night with him in pain to take him to another vet! Bumi is like a dog in ways he loves belly rubs and will roll onto his back every time you pet him! He loves treats and will sit on command. He is my heart and soul and brings me so much comfort after my mother’s passing. He is my rock and gets me through everyday no matter how hard. He loves sleeping with me and my daughter at night. He brings myself and her joy every single day! Getting bumi healthy again would allow me and my beautiful daughter to continue to have a warm and loving reminder of how much my mother loved us. Hazel is in need of monitoring/bloodwork and possible surgery if the nest has caused a blockage. We appreciate any help and positive thoughts sent our way. Hazel loves snuggles, she enjoys all attention and demands it from Griffen and I. Everyday we are awakened by a cold nose and morning nose lick! Hazel loves Griffen and his stuffed animals, also any treats he slides her during meals. This dog is always happy to see us even if we have just been out of the room for 5 minutes. Hazel gives us joy on our good days and comfort on our rough days 💖 I am an art teacher in Baltimore city at Midtown academy! I love my students and my coworkers. Baby was born from a feral mom. He and his siblings were eventually trapped after a few months. Momma cat kept avoiding the trap, but eventually we were able to get her too. We found homes for some, but Baby and two siblings, and Momma cat remain with us. We also have his “kitty niece” who just adores him and never leaves his side. He is such a sweet, cuddly and vocal guy and loves to be held. Baby is always vocal, but I noticed him express a different sound, and crying. I also noticed that he was crouching and trying to urinate. I assumed he was blocked, as we just recently went through this with our George. I went directly to Jarrettsville Vet who were so kind and took Baby in as an emergency. Dr. Ahrens was so compassionate and willing to work him into their busy schedule today. Baby is a very passionate, vocal, big boy, and so affectionate. He loves to be held on our arm, with his legs stretched out on each side. His niece is always by his side, and “Uncle Baby” takes good care of her. He’s grown to love our dogs too, and has been snuggling with our German Shepherd recently. He enjoys watching the birds from our bay window, and napping on the cat tree. My husband has had medical problems; medical bills are climbing. It’s been a struggle for sure, and we have not been able to put a plan in place for medical emergencies for our 4 legged family members. Baby is such a big part of our family. Luna has been throwing up and lethargic since Thursday evening, she has had many tests done already and it’s now known that she has major issues with her pancreas and is needing daily care at the vet. She is on IV fluids around the clock and has been given antibiotics and meds to help ease the pain that she is dealing with. She is with Jarrettsville Vet and has been since Friday. She is the shy one out of her sister and her. She is still super sweet and loves to lay on her favorite blanket and make biscuits while purring up a storm. She won’t come to you for attention but she will take any chin scratches or pets that you want to give her. And when she comes to you for scratches and pets most of the time she will be purring oh so loudly and completely happy. Prune doesn’t like a lot of attention. He’s self sufficient and does his own thing. I don’t have to see after his every need. He’s a great cat. I’m currently in the middle of trying to get my daughter to college who is graduating from high school next month. It’s a hardship with this emergency for Prune. Prune is a part of family and we try to do our best for him.

Snoop

Snoop is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Delta, PA, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization for Care of Wound.

Delta, PA

Snoop is a cat who had lived outside as part of a feral colony until she was found with her foot caught in a foot trap (legal in the state where she lived). Snoop was discovered under an old trailer while walking to a neighbor's house one morning. A faint "meow" was heard, when looking under the trailer she was found in the mud with her foot caught in a foot trap designed to catch fox. The person who placed it there did not realize it could also catch and harm cats. Snoop was brought to Jarrettsville Vet Center for care. Despite being a feral cat and loving to run and climb Snoop has been very well behaved while hospitalized at Jarrettsville Vet Center. She enjoys being held during her visit. I am 80 years old and live on a fixed income. The original owners of Snoop would have not treated her injuries, ownership was transferred to get her the care she needs.

Dexter

Dexter is a 3 year old Mix-Breed in Aberdeen, MD, who needs $1,500 for Urinary Obstruction.

Aberdeen, MD

Dexter has been in our life since he was a kitten with his brother and littermate, Siegward. Dexter was born in rural Pennsylvania and we took ownership from a farm that was overwhelmed with cats and kittens. Watching him grow along with his boisterous personality has been joy. He's sweet, loves to sleep anywhere close to his owners and loves to play with his brother and our chihuahua, Jewels. Dexter suddenly and urgently needed urinary unblocking and unfortunetaly when we went to the Animal Emergency Hospital in Bel Air, we were quoted a medical expense that we could not afford to pay almost forcing us to surrender euthanasia of Dexter. They provided us contact with local vets, where JVC stepped in. Jarretsville Vetinary Center in Jarretsville provided the care needed to Dexter. Our boy is special to us because he is incredibly kind, vocal and love to be pet. He loves playing with his brother and just loves to be around us. He is a little anxious around new friends and visitors but after a visit or 2 opens right up and for everyone to give him pats and belly rubs. He loves belly rub, contrary to most cats! His favorite pass time is lap time. Recently, both my husband and myself lost our jobs and we did not have an emergency fund set aside for this expense. We are paying forward whatever we can but we need additional help from anyone who can offer it. Most of all, we want Dexter to be back to his full capacity.

Mantis

Mantis is a 2 year old Belgian Shepherd (Tervuren) in Belair, MD, who needs $2,000 for Ongoing Medical Care for Recovery, Spay, Dental.

Belair, MD

Mantis is an incredibly sweet girl. She is high food, medium prey, high ball drive. I would describe her as still a green dog as she’s young and has much to learn yet learns incredibly quick. Mantis thought she was heading out to her forever home. In turn- she was beaten half to death. On March 17th at 5:30 AM a phone call was made to pick up Mantis ASAP. The people who sought out to adopt Mantis left her with a roommate while they went away. The roommate in turn- brutally attacked Mantis over and over again with a machete!!! Mantis is NOT an aggressive dog. Mantis absolutely loves her ball, her best friend soba another Belgian whom she lives with, she is a bright and sweet dog that absolutely loves to play and enjoy life, but also just be with her family and have cuddle time We’re asking for donations, because even though we can do our best to provide for mantis‘s medical care needs are extremely extensive at this point and we’re doing the best we can however are desperate for the help of others to make sure that mantis makes a full recovery

Jackson

Jackson is a 10 year old Beagle in Abingdon, MD, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.

Abingdon, MD

Jackson came to us as an owner surrender when he was a year old. He had been living in an apartment and needed not just more space, but space where he could sniff, howl, and bark like a hound should. We welcomed his sweet disposition, soulful eyes, and emotional empathy with open arms. He quickly settled in to our pack and his other hound siblings and him we're inseparable. 2 years ago his protein levels were high. We started doing all the tests to figure out why. Nothing was showing up. We started medication to try and protect his organs and continued to monitor his levels with recurring lab work. In Oct 2024 we noticed blood in his urine. During treatment for this a regular exam showed an enlarged prostate. 2 months later we received the offical diagnosis. Cancer. He is an emotional support for our entire family. Our sons, our other dogs, and us. He is so attentive and instinctively knows when you just need him to lay with you, to kiss you, or to try cheering you up by offering his favorite toy. He's most in his element when we're camping. He greets other campers, relaxes by the fire, or possibly stealing the hotdogs the neighbors kids are using for bait. The end of 2024 hit hard with unexpected expenses; new roof, 2 new appliances, and the cost of a Pet ER visit and the diagnostic process. Our savings was depleted. We know this isn't curable but we'd like him to be with us as long as he can do so comfortably.

Sephora

Sephora is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Dallastown , PA, who needs $1,500 for Pyometra Surgery.

Dallastown, PA

Hello! This is Sephora, she is 4yrs old.. & I have had her since she was 8 weeks old! A week after I lost my cousin she was born November 8th 2020. From a family friends litter of kittens. Her and now my 3 yr old son share the same birth-date but a year apart.. She is very loved by us all. She was given her name due to her colors & beauty, some may know of the makeup brand SEPHORA. She’s my beauty Sephora is at the vets schedule to get surgery today 02/03/2025.. she was an unspayed female & got an infection which has lead to her surgery, a Pyometra Surgery. Jarrettsville Veterinary Center is taking great care of her and been extremely helpful regardless of me not having the funds to support her the way she needs.. I’m hoping to raise the 1,500 I need to pay my due to them. She is my world She is extremely special to me due to the timing I got her to everything she has shown and given to me over the years.. She is so lovable, she will greet me at the door every time I get home. At night ever since she was a kitten she has slept on my head on my pillow. She has her kitty sisters that one she acts like she’s her mama always licking and rubbing on her. She really is the best cat. This was a very unexpected financial burden that I was unaware of & not prepared for at all. She means everything to me, and getting the financial help to help her would mean the world to see her strive on in her life. I can’t imagine my days and nights without her..

ReeCee

ReeCee is a 6 year old Dachshund in Baltimore, MD, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

BALTIMORE, MD

My fiance and I got ReeCee from Lonely Hearts Animal Rescue when she was 10 weeks old, she just turned 6 in March. We chose the name ReeCee because of her brown brindle coloring, it was the colors of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. We often refer to her as ReeCee Cup. ReeCee has an 11 yr old, black lab mix, sister who she adores. They do everything together; eat, sleep, and roam the backyard. ReeCee ruptured her cranial cruciate ligament in her left rear knee running in the backyard. She needs to have a NPLO surgery to stabilize the knee. ReeCee has had swelling and pain due to the traumatic injury. I have found that Jarrettsville Veterinary Center is the most reasonable for this type of surgery. They have an Orthopedic Specialist come in and perform the surgery. ReeCee is so special in many ways for many reasons. She's the Biggest"Little Dog". Her Sis HarleyQuinn's a Black Lab Mix who's 5 yrs older & 30 lbs heavier. Though you would think it's the other way around. From day 1 she's been the perfect addition to our family. She took no time making herself at home. She LOVES to play with her toys & Snuggle. She is a Dachshund Thru & Thru Loving Loyal & True! I'm on a fixed income. My fiance lost a job of 17 yrs at a Church last April & was out of work for 9 months & couldn't get unemployment. We went through our savings. To have ReeCee just walk again instead of hopping would be wonderful! Breaks my heart to see her hop around.

George

George is a 11-year-old Blue Russian Cat in Bel Air , MD, who needs $500 for Emergency Treatment.

Bel Air, MD

George and his sister Weezie were rescued from a hoarding situation. They were both under nourished and not well. I took them home and the veterinarian was not sure they would survive. Well it's 11 years later. George is such a handsome, loving cat. He loves being combed, rubbed and treated like a king. He has been with us through 2 moves, including one across the country. He was unhappy when we adopted a puppy but has adjusted and puts his dog in his place. Although George is a cat, he likes to lick you and sleep by your head. He picks on his sister and likes running around the house. He has a special place in our hearts. George is not feeling well. He is lethargic, hasn't eaten, and has been under the bed for the last couple days. This is unusual behavior for him. He also seems to have an eye infection. My children are worried he is dying. This week my water heater went out. It has flooded my basement and needed to be replaced. I'm financially tapped out from this expense but I don't want George to suffer and not get the car he needs.
