Pluto

Pluto is a 10 month old American Longhair in Youngstown, OH, who needs $9,000 for Liver Shunt Surgery.

Youngstown, OH

We rescued Pluto on Halloween in 2025 from a local shelter. He lives with my boyfriend, Clay, and I as well as his big sister Juno in our apartment. We thought Pluto would be the perfect name for him, with his appearance and the name also went well with his sister's name, they both combined Clay and I's passions for space and mythology. Pluto was diagnosed with a congenital liver shunt. It is a rare condition where the liver can't properly filter out toxins in the bloodstream. This can lead to neurological issues, which can eventually lead to death. The only way to guarantee Pluto can live a long and healthy life is through a specialized surgery that they can perform at Akron MedVet. Pluto has been such a blessing for our little family. He is always finding ways to make us smile; whether that be sneak-attacking his sister, jumping into our arms from wherever he stands, or curling up with us on the couch for a movie night. He is always making us laugh, especially when he slides into his stretches or swims in his water bowl. He is truly a special guy and we love him dearly. The diagnosis came suddenly, and the surgery cannot be delayed too long. We weren't prepared for this financially. Clay has supported both of us by paying most of our bills since I am still in college. We've looked into loans and credit cards, but none really panned out.

Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in AKRON, OH, who needs $2,000 for Endoscopy.

AKRON, OH

Lucas was adopted from Stark Humane Society, where we have gotten most of our pets. I had him since he was a little kitten. This is my soul cat, he spunky at time but he loves me so much. He is 6 years old and has so much life left to live with his 5 other sibilings and one human sibling. He is a loving cat, and our baby girl loves him so much. They are best friends. He has been having breathing issues, throwing up food, losing weight and sneezing is getting worse the last time that we spoke to our vet they said he needed to be scoped and we do not have the money to even afford that what so ever. Veternary Wellness Center in green is where we go but we are trying to raise funds before we find a specalist. My daughter loves her kitty. They play together and he is so tolerable of all the things that she does to him. He is super cuddly and loves his mom, and he is my special boy he has so much life left. We just do not have the funds to pay for the treatment, and my husband is going to need a car soon, and we wont have any money to even get that. We are asking if you have it in your heart to even donate a little to help save my baby boy. He is my world and losing him I cant.

Stozie

Stozie is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Akron, OH, who needs $7,000 for X-rays, Surgery, Meds.

Akron, OH

We got Stozie about 5 years ago. She is a dachshund/pomeranian mix. She’s a very sweet dog and absolutely loves to cuddle as well as play with our other dogs. We usually take her to MedVet in Akron. We’re almost 1000% sure she broke or sprained her leg. It’s swollen, she’s shaky and can’t walk on it whatsoever. Stozie is a super fast dog when it comes to play. She’s loves to run, jump, play tug of war and sit on the top of the couch or the bench by the window and see what the outside world holds. It would mean the absolute world and everything to me to have her healthy again. It hurts even seeing her in pain and I don’t even have the means to take her to a vet right now otherwise i wouldn’t be doing this.

Jesse

Jesse is a 5 year old Siberian Husky in Stow, OH, who needs $6,700 for TPLO Surgery.

Stow, OH

Jesse came to us as a rescue, he was really skinny and scared. After some time he became trustful and one of the best dogs I have ever had. He always wants to play and loves being outside in the colder weather. He loves to talk to people and greets everyone. Jesse was walking outside in the snow one day and running towards his puppy friends house when he suddenly started screaming and fell down in pain. We put him in a car and drive him home. Our Vet said that he has a Ruptured Cranial Cruciate Ligament. Which is like a tear in his knee and referred us to Akron Med Vet for surgery. He is unable to use his left leg and struggles to get outside. Jesse loves everyone. You can’t walk by him without getting a response from him. He is so vocal every time he sees someone. He always follows me around and wants to play as much as possible. Even now after his accident he still has a smile on his face. His surgery is very expensive, thousands of dollars, something I was not prepared for. Getting this surgery will help him to walk again and once again enjoy life the way he did before the accident.

Photo of Xena

Xena

Xena is a 1 Year Old Doberman Pinscher in Canton, OH, Who Needs $7,000 for Skin Graph/Debriding.

Canton, OH

Xena became a part of our family last year and has been a source of comfort, safety and love for my children and myself. Following the loss of our farm, she has been a protector to our family and emotional support to all of us. We were blessed to have her in our family, and she is too young to leave this world so soon. Xena's laceration requires surgery which is anywhere between 5-7k. Her skin needs debriding and sutures, she will need antibiotics and pain medication. Unfortunately she needs to be treated at a facility equipped to handle her injuries, which the emergency vet locally is not equipped for. We were referred to Medvet in akron Ohio but do not have the financial ability to afford treatment for her. Xena is a personality you have to experience personally to understand. She is a warrior princess absolutely, which is how this emergency began. Her will, determination and loyalty is everything a person could want in a dog/ companion animal. The healing she's brought to our family since joining us last year is something that could never be replaced. This sudden expense coming after my divorce, and new relocation. It is too out of reach by ourselves but we don't want to lose are girl. We are trying everything we can to keep her stable long enough to raise funds for her surgery.

Photo of Olive

Olive

Olive is a 3 Year Old Cane Corso in Parma, OH, Who Needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

Parma, OH

Olive came into our lives a 8 weeks old after we lost our 12 year old Mastiff. We fostered her, fell in love, endured the puppy velociraptor, and have doted on her. We knew going into it that she might have some knee issues due to her size, but we love her and would do anything for her. She has 2 little brothers, Shadow and Remus, who are looking forward to having their momma back 100% Olive needs TPLO surgery, which will range between $5-10k depending on the damage to her knee. She tore her knee, and to have a good quality of life, it needs to be repaired, or we run the risk of her other leg being damaged and her quality of life coming into question. Olive is the biggest ham I have ever met. She hasn't met another dog, person or kid that she doesn't love. She is a very special dog and friend to us and she lights up any room that she enters. I have never met such a happy, gentle, funny giant in my life. Not only does she love people, she also has the ability to lift up anyone she meets. I am on a limited income with very high medical bills due to a chronic disease that may result in needing a transplant. So much of my pay goes to my bills and that isn't fair to her. To have her active, mobile and happy will relieve so much worry for me.

Toby

Toby is a 2 Year Old Golden Retriever in Hudson, OH, Who Needs $10,000 for Double TPLO Procedures.

Hudson, OH

Toby became part of our lives when his owner no longer wanted him at 6 months old. Because he was smaller than expected, they didn’t want him to breed him. I have had dogs my entire life and he is by far the sweetest soul I have ever encountered. He has never even growled and is 2 years old. Unfortunately he had significant separation anxiety which came at a very high cost replacing glasses, shoes, retainers, etc. He now needs both ACLs (CCLs) replaced costing us $10,000. His kids have an incredible bond with him and are completely devastated. He is only 2 years old and can have a long, amazing life ahead of him if we can swing this. Toby is unlike any dog I have ever met. Sounds cliche, but so very true. He is incredibly submissive, has never even growled, and loves hard and pure. He has brought so much love and kindness to everyone around him. Our hope is to keep Toby with us, reduce his suffering, and continue to watch him spread genuine unconditional love to everyone he encounters. This was an unexpected cost during the upcoming holiday season and complications.

Jumba

Jumba is a 1 year old Great Pyrenees in Kittanning , PA, who needs $2,000 for Diagnose and Treat Neurological Issues.

Kittanning, PA

I brought Jumba into my life after his brothers parents had an accidental litter at their breeders facility. What a wonderful accident it was. Jumba is 100% the perfect t description of a Great Pyr. He’s very sweet & gentle but extremely protective of his goats. When he isn’t on goat duty he’s lounging in the shade or playing with his brother Hank. Currently looking for answers as to why Jumba is experiencing partial paralysis. He’s not able to use his rear legs but he does have feeling just not able to walk. We’ve done the basic tests & screening to rule out different causes. We did X-rays & blood work for a variety of issues with no answers. Out next step is a neurologist at MedVet in Akron,Ohio. MRI & more extensive testing is next. Jumba loves everyone he meets! He’s the most gentle soul you’d ever meet but if you mess with his goats he’ll remind you what his breed was designed to do. He does enjoy fun walks with his pack mates during his down time. He is literally the most snuggliest polar bear you’ll ever meet. Just look at his sweet face I do have a stable job as a professional dog walker in the Pittsburgh area. Like everyone else who owns a pet I go above & beyond. Money has never been a factor but with our current economic state business has slowed down & emergency resources are limited.

Murphy

Murphy is a 3 year old Mix-Breed in Campbell, OH, who needs $2,000 for Anemia, Cellulitis, and Bilirubin Treatment.

Campbell, OH

Murphy came to us unexpectedly about 8 months ago! Although in his previous home he didn’t have much freedom but here he runs the house! As soon as we got him home we fell in loved him! I didn’t know what my heart was missing until he came into our lives! Murphy is a 3 year old golden doodle, the happiest, sweetest, most friendliest little boy you’ve ever met! Murphy went to get neutered. The next day he was in so much pain his leg started to swell and he couldn’t walk! we rushed him to urgent care, he had labs drawn and they told us that his blood wasn’t clotting like us should. Now he’s in Akron medvet hospital. He’s been there 4 nights now.He has cellulitis, high bilirubin, his body is attacking his red blood cells all bc of a shot he got to sedate him Murphy is so sweet! He loves everyone he meets, family, friends, other animals! He gives all the kisses and request all the pets he can get! He follows me all over the house and when I’m not feeling well he’s there for me. He’s my little ray of sunshine! We adore him and would do anything for him! This all came as a shock to us after he got fixed. A shot in his leg to sedate him caused an allergic reaction which turned into an infection and it spiraled from there. It’s 2,000 a night at this hospital and he’s worth every penny!.The cost we are facing is so overwhelming

Anna

Anna is a 9 year old St. Bernard in Mansfield, OH, who needs $10,000 for CHOP Protocol.

Mansfield, OH

Hello! Anna is my nine year old Saint Bernard that I have had since she was 6 months old. She currently lives with me and my husband in Mansfield but we have been through a few moves together. When I first got her we lived with my parents in Warsaw and eventually moved a few different times in Coshocton and then to Mansfield. She currently has two brothers, Winston and Zeke, and one sister, Olive. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma on June 16th and is currently undergoing Chemotherapy, the CHOP protocol. We are using a series of 3 different medications to kill the cells and keep any more from growing. The total cost of the treatment is about $10,000. She is being treated at MedVet in Akron, Ohio. She is the sweetest dog in the world and gets a lot with everyone! Fun fact, I have had her all nine years of her life and I have only heard her bark a handful times, she isn't much of a barker! She doesn't like getting wet from the rain and hates snow even more! Which is funny since she's a saint bernard! She has a 9 month old brother (basset hound) whom she loves and they do everything together! The cancer diagnosis was very unexpected. We did have some money saved up but it got wiped out because shortly before this she was very sick and we were in and out of the Vet a lot until she was diagnosed with Addisons disease which she is now on lifelong medication for.
