Tux
Tux is a 5 year old Border Collie in Farmington, UT, who needs $9,560 for Blood Transfusions, Steroids, Immunosuppressants.
Farmington, UT
Tux came from a family of 12 where the gaggle of kids was his own flock of sheep to protect. Because his Border Collie instincts, he developed reactivity and had to be rehomed. He almost got put down, but that's when my boyfriend - now husband - and I took a chance on him. And he proved his true character. Tux is wicked smart, super athletic, and is the sweetest boy. He deserves a long loved life. But on 7/19 Tux became frighteningly woozy, lethargic, and had bloody urine. The incredible emergency vets at Mountain West Veterinary Specialists were sought out. They determined that Tux was in life or death crisis with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. They walked us through his chances of survival and we decided we had to at least try and save him. Thanks to them, he has a fighting chance. Border Collies are the smartest dogs around, and Tux is definitely among the smartest. He always finds a way to get what he wants - usually fetch or peanut butter. Tux will come sit by us and give us his paw until we hold his hand. He LOVES his butt to be scratched. And he loves to swim and play in lakes. Most of all, we love him and we know he knows it. That's why we're trying sohard to save him. My husband is dealing with his own auto immune disease (like father like son, right?) and recently lost his job. Further, I was laid off in February and am currently underemployed. We are just trying to keep our heads above water and keep Tux safe. Thank you for your help <3

Tux
Tux is a 5 year old Border Collie in Farmington, UT, who needs $9,560 for IMHA Treatment, Blood Transfusion, and Steroids.
Farmington, UT
Tux is a border collie we rehomed during Covid. He came off as aggressive and the family couldn’t keep him any longer and no one wanted to buy him. They talked about putting him down back then if no one would step in. That’s when I met tux. Every day has felt like borrowed time, but with training and time, he’s transformed. I can’t quit on him now. On 7/19 Tux became frighteningly woozy, lethargic, and had bloody urine. The incredible emergency vets at Mountain West Veterinary Specialists were sought out. They determined that Tux was in life or death crisis with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia. They walked us through his chances of survival and we decided we had to at least try and save him. Thanks to them, he is getting the meds he needs My girlfriend, now wife, got me Tux for Christmas 5 years ago. This little buddy is my first pet, I remember my wife telling me that he would be the best thing, but in 12 years it would hurt. But having a dog in my life would be worth it. Getting a 12 year Now, I may not even get 12 years with him. It all feels too soon. And I just want more time with him We’re just out of college, I’m on leave due to my own immune condition, and my wife only recently picked up work. The fee’s have already surpassed what we put together for Tux

Chica
Chica is a 5 year old Conure in Provo, UT, who needs $300 for Avian Borna Virus + Unknown Secondary Infection.
Provo, UT
Chica is my first pet officially in life. I am a middle age Dad with 2 kids. Chica is 4/5 years old, and we wanted a friend to be with us for the next 15. She is very well loved, taken care of, fed, and obsessed over daily. Our kids love this bird, and she was meant to help me. I have grown overly attached to her, and want to do anything I can for her. So thats why I looked up places for help. Recent diagnosis 2 months ago confirmed she has ABV, and a secondary infection that is taken all its toll. The ABV may or may not be a primary cause, but our Vet believes it is a secondary infection that is doing the current damage. She was hospitalized for a few days last month, and has been on various medications. She had a good drop in White blood cells, but has risen in the last 2 weeks. I recieved Chica from a family almost 2 years ago, she was 3. They knew Chica needed more hours of care and attention, and wanted to find a family. We became that for Chica, and she is literally 1 of the family(and more). When she became sick the last 2 months, its just been all hands on deck for her. Round the clock scritches, and strict guidelines laid out from our awesome Exotics vet. We have put as much of our Care credit and savings as we can for her, but she still needs help and is continuing to fight. We need help with any treatment, testing, and anything. I dont really know what to put, but I just want to help her if I can. Shes still fighting.

Charlie
Charlie is a 1.5 year old Bearded Dragon in Bountiful , UT, who needs $2,500 for Limb Amputation.
Bountiful, UT
This is My Boy Charlie. He currently lives in a 150 gallon tank fully equipped with linear UVB lights and everything a bearded dragon needs to thrive. Charlie spent the first 6 months of his life at a big box pet store in a 5 gallon tank.Because he spent such a long time with sub par care he has suffered health complications. When I bought him he had parasites that the vets at Mountain West Vet Clinic treated and his calcium levels were low. Now he has inflammation of the arm which they are concerned is becoming necrotic and may need removal. Charlie is the sweetest bearded dragon I have ever met. He loves snuggles and watching T.V with the family. My daughter who has ASD is often found in front of Charlie’s tank talking to him. He is a great listener! I am an RBT and work with kids with behavioral issues and Charlie is always there for me on the tough days! He is always ready to cuddle, listen and sooth anyone he contacts! I am a single mom with three kids two which have special needs. I have exhausted my savings trying to care for Charlie. He is my world and I don’t want to surrender him but I am running out of options.

Cooper
Cooper is a 7 year old Labrador Retriever in Ogden, UT, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Splenectomy.
Ogden, UT
Cooper is a competitive retriever dropout. Kicked off the farm, we were able to adopt him. Coop is 7 and has 1 fur brother and 3 human siblings. He lives in Utah and always makes sure the couch is warm and the food is tasted. He takes up too much space in bed and hates the vacuum. If you scratch his butt he tries to sit on his own head. Coop has a mass on his spleen. He is at risk of internal bleeding at any moment, and needs an emergency splenectomy. Without removal he has only a few weeks left, but with removal could live to a ripe old age. He had a minor bleed yesterday and collapsed, he is now home and monitored 24-7 while we raise funds to get him the surgery he needs. Coop is simply the best dog ever. He loves kids and especially cuddling babies. He love fetch and blowing bubbles in his baby pool, but hates baths. His teen sisters take him everywhere he is allowed, and every night he accompanies his toddler brother into the garden to help eat the berries off the bushes. He digs impressive holes on his quest to China. With 3 kids the expenses are high. Our oldest needs extreme oral surgery which insurance only partially covers. This is her second surgery this year and has drained our emergency funds. We are able to finance part of Coopers surgery, but have to pay a $4k deposit to begin.

Chip
Chip is a 1-year-old Chihuahua in Roy, UT, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.
Roy, UT
We got him in october 2023, at that point he was 9months old, we picked him up from a couple that just had a baby and couldn't give him as much love and attention, he was super excited and friendly. We were so surprised he wasn't barking being a chihuahua. He was so excited he peed on my foot. They say dogs pick their owners. In this case I think he really liked us. he likes sleep, cuddles and is very affectionate. he helps us with anxiety. He loves balls, stuffed toys and nylabones, he chews those up! Our family members love him. he's a grand doggy to our parents, and loves on everyone all of our siblings and friends I absolutely love this dog. I was skeptical getting a male since they mark things. he doesn't try as much, he loves our attention and is very affectionate and licks our faces. he prances and steals treats from bigger dogs, he squints alot, when he nods off sitting up he starts to fall over and then catches himself he's been healthy up until this accident. he ate some pork bones that are now causing an obstruction and needs surgery. he's been in pain, sad and very uncomfortable being in real estate is feast or famine, its been hard with interest rates, its also been a very trying year which is why we got our dogs, my husband wasnt a dog person and he loves our little chihuahuas. hes only a year old, (a few days ago) and is too young to end his life

Luna
Luna is a 1-year-old Maltipoo in Clearfield, UT, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to Remove Gallbladder Stones.
Clearfield, UT
Luna came into our lives in August 2022 along with her litter sister. Luna make us a family of six. She is so attach to my 10 year old daughter. Those two are two peas in a pod. She and her sister are so spoiled and they know it. 😊 Luna is very particular of her sleeping arrangements. She loves to snuggle with my daughter. When she hears "Nite,Nite" she grabs her lamb stuff toy and runs to my daughters room. She loves car rides and going to for walks. She is a very active dog but loves to cuddle with anyone who wants to. She loves to curl up in your neck and fall a sleep. The best thing about Luna is the excitement she has when we pick up the kids from school. She starts to wimper of excitement. She loves to sit in front of the window and growl and the birds, but if a bird gets to close she jumps and hides. Luna recently started feeling a little sick and we started noticing that she was peeing blood. We took her to the vet and they prescribed her antibiotics for UTI. It was not getting any better. We took her back and they informed us that she has gallbladder stones that she is not able to pass on her own and surgery is the only way. We got pain medicine just until we can get her the surgery. Its with my heavy heart that we are asking for help. I am recently going through a divorce and I am single mom of three. The.cost is 3400- 3900. I am so lost and scared that we can lose the one special part of our family that has been getting my kids through this hard time

Spruce
Spruce is a 7-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog in Orem, UT, who needs $2,000 for Cystotomy.
Orem, UT
I researched traits and qualities in the dog I wanted. I chose a Bernese Mountain Dog to be my buddy and hiking companion. The breeder actually gave personality tests so match dogs with owners. Spruce was my boy and it has been a perfect match. At the time I got him, I was going through a very difficult setback in my life. I can actually say that Spruce saved my life and now it is my turn. Spruce and I are glued at the hip. I rarely go anywhere without him. He is smart and cute. We have a special communication between us. It is just Spruce and I. He welcomes anyone I bring into my circle and is always very excited to see them. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but is always welcoming. I almost look at Spruce as being more human than dog because he is so intuitive. All of his antics make me smile: the way he holds up his paw when he wants something, the way he lays his head on my shoulder when we go for drives, the way he puts his chin on my bed and breaths hard to wake me when he needs to go out. He is the one who leads when we go on walks and communicates which way we go. Spruce has had the needed surgery once. Here we go again. It is a genetic condition that causes bladder stones. They are painful and could cause blockage. This is a life saving surgery. Frustratingly there is a medication that could prevent them from forming, but the pill that used to cost 1.32 now costs 30.00 per pill. Spruce has good years left. He needs surgery. Been through this surgery once. It cost me my savings. I learned I need to see a nutritionist to formulate food that can possibly prevent this from happening again. The consult and ultrasound has already cost me almost $1,000. I need my buddy to live his full life.
