Rocco

Rocco is a 11 year old Mix-Breed in Lansing, MI, who needs $10,000 for Abdominal Drain.

Lansing, MI

I have had Rocco since he was 2 months old. I got him from a family member whose friend had puppies and the puppies were going to get put down. He has been my best friend since I was 17. Rocco has multiple health concerns. He was rushed to the vet and upon checking he had a ruptured abscess in his abdomen that was leaking septic fluid. They also found two masses. One near his penis and one near his groin. He also has a perianal hernia that will need to be operated on once he recovers from the 3 surgeries he just underwent. Rocco is such a special strong boy. Everyone that comes into contact with Rocco ends up loving him. He loves kids and other pets. He’s the best boy in the whole world! This is a sudden major expense and it has become costly. The total I am at currently is 18K I have 14K of the cost covered but with still having to maintain a household as a single mother I fear I would struggle to pay the rest of the cost as the cost seems to keep rising.

Pearl

Pearl is a 2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Mt. Pleasant, MI, who needs $10,000 for Quill Excision Surgery.

Mt. Pleasant, MI

Pearl is a two and a half year old pitty who was adopted as a puppy from our local animal shelter. She was adopted by my mom after her last dog, Rick, passed away after a long, loving life. She is so loved and is a constant companion to my mom, who lives alone. Pear had an encounter with a porcupine 4/27. She came back covered in quills and was rushed to the closest emergency vet to us, MSU, which is ~2 hours away. The veterinarian and her team did all they could to remove as many quills as possible, but it quickly became clear that a few of the quills had already migrated into the muscle, and now one is near her heart. Surgery will be close to $10,000. Pearl is incredibly special to my mom. Mom lives alone after my dad, her husband, had a massive stroke and had to be moved into a nursing home for care. Pearl is the constant in her life. Pearl is so young, silly, and full of life. She is otherwise very healthy, so this sudden turn of events has been very jarring. We need to raise enough to cover as much of the surgery as possible. My mom is on a fixed income, and while my sister and I are doing all we can to help, none of us are in a spot to be able to afford this extremely costly surgery.

Eva Mae

Eva Mae is a 7 year old Rottweiler in Jonesville, MI, who needs $5,000 for IBD Hospitalization & Supportive Care.

Jonesville, MI

Eva Mae is our 7-year-old Rottweiler who has been part of our family since she was nine weeks old. My mom and I traveled to Tennessee to bring her home as a puppy. She lives with my mom, dad, and grandfather, along with her dog siblings Gunner and Tater Tot. Eva has grown up surrounded by love and has always been a cherished member of our family. Eva Mae, our 7-year-old Rottweiler, recently became critically ill and is currently hospitalized at the Michigan State University Medical Center. Veterinarians suspect inflammatory bowel disease and she is receiving intensive care including a feeding tube, IV fluids, and medications while they work to stabilize her and determine the best treatment plan. Eva Mae is full of personality. She's always excited to see her family and is quite the "talker." She loves swimming, car rides with her head out the window, and camping trips up north. At home she rearranges couch cushions like an interior designer and gets excited when her Chewy boxes arrive. She's a cuddler who loves pressing her forehead to ours for kisses. Eva’s emergency hospitalization has created an unexpected financial burden for our family. We've already used every resource available but cannot cover the remaining cost alone. Your support will help Eva continue receiving lifesaving care & give her the chance to come home.

Jetta (Chunky) is a 12 year old American Shorthair in Saint Louis, MI, who needs $2,000 for CTE scan and a Bone Marrow Analysis.

Saint Louis, MI

My girlfriend's parents adopted Jetta when she was three years old. She's been with us for nine years. She spent six of those years living under the Florida sun and two years now with me and my girlfriend in Michigan. Chunky's situation is dire. She had gone anemic this Friday and has been fighting in the ER since. She's being treated at the Michigan State University Vet's office. They stabalized her anemia, through a blood transfusion and she got a little better, however her body decided to stop producing blood and she will no longer will eat on her own. Chunky has three other siblings, Gooby, Sonic, and Fuzzball. She prefers lounging around and laying in the sun over playing with her siblings, but you can still often times find her sleeping next to them. She loves to sleep on our chests and in our bed and loves to eat. This situation has caught us off guard both emotionally and financially. She was very bright and loving just before she was brought into the vet and now she is fighting for her life and I don't have the money to pay for her treatment.

Dax

Dax is a 5 month old Doberman Pinscher in Pompeii, , who needs $2,000 for Double or Triple Pelvic Osteotomy (DPO/TPO).

Pompeii

Dax, or as I like to call him Daxers, was hand selected from a little of 11 puppies by my husband Ben. My husband's dream dog is a Doberman, and after losing our 12-year-old lab to heart failure last winter, I decided to keep an eye out for one. My husband has been battling a new onset autoimmune disorder since May 2024 so our hope was to give him a more positive outlook on life with a new friend. Dax was in an accident where he ended up with a compound hip joint fracture. We were told that due to his age, if we didn't get it corrected, he would more than likely need the leg amputated. He would need to see an orthopedic specialist due to the severity of the fracture, and if we wanted any chance at saving his leg, giving him the best outlook possible on life. Dax is the biggest cuddle bug you'll ever meet. If you carried him around all day like an infant, he would be in heaven. He has such a goofy personality and everyone that meets him falls instantly in love. Between my husband's medical expenses with trying to diagnose him, along with our two other dogs ending up with pyometra (6 months apart) and needing emergency surgery, both totaling around 5k, we have drained our savings. We just want to give him the best outcome possible!

Scooby is a 8 year old German Shepherd Dog in Eaton Rapids, MI, who needs $2,000 for 3 Emergency Surgeries, Tests, and Hospitalization.

Eaton Rapids, MI

Scooby is not just a dog – he’s my heart dog. If you've ever had a pet that felt like your soulmate, you know exactly what that means. He has been my constant, my comfort, and my joy through life’s toughest moments. He’s one of sweetest souls I’ve ever met – gentle with everyone he meets, always wagging his tail. All he wants is love, belly rubs, and to be by my side. We rescued rescued from a local shelter. Not long after, he endured heartworm treatment and went into anaphylactic shock during the process. We were lucky to catch it in time and save him. Then six months ago, he began vomiting and was rushed to the ER, where he needed an emergency splenectomy. A few days later he declined and required another surgery which found damage to his stomach and liver. Luckily, he recovered from those. But recently, he started regurgitating and stopped eating. He was hospitalized, and biopsies of his GI tract were taken. We were hopeful. But before the biopsy results came back, Scooby declined again. We rushed him to the ER, where they discovered free air in his abdomen — a complication from the biopsies. He needed another emergency surgery to save his life. He’s now in recovery and we finally have a diagnosis: lymphocytic plasmacytic gastroenteritis, a form of IBD. We’ve done everything we can to fight for him, but the financial toll has become overwhelming. We would do anything to save him — but we can’t do it alone. Thank you

Belarus

Belarus is a 3 year old Mix-Breed in Williamston, , who needs $2,000 for Surgery.

Williamston

Bela is a rescue we got after the loss of our cat Whiskey, she (begrudgingly) shares a home with our other cat biscuit and our 2 snakes, gecko, and axolotl all of which she enjoys watching (and occasionally trying to eat) As it would happen she is very good at eating things she’s not meant to and after a squabble with my father in law he locked her into his garage where she proceeded to eat items she isn’t meant to among these things was a peice of metal wire. She has 5000$ in admission fees plus another 5000$ for her surgery and likely more fees to come as she continues to get treatment. We like to call Bela our lil cat-dog she likes to run around the house and “bark” and well as playing fetch and being an excellent mouse hunter! She is a big snuggler but only when your asleep but regardless she always loves pets and of course treats! I am young and my job gives me less than 1000$ a month as much as I’d love to give all my money to paying for her bills I can’t but she is my sweet little baby and seeing her play and be her goof-ball self again means everything to me.

Titi

Titi is a 9 year old Egyptian Mau in Lansing, MI, who needs $2,000 for Enterotomy or Gastrotomy.

Lansing, MI

Titi (short for Nefertiti, the Egyptian Queen) has been a part of our family since the day she was born. Her mom -- an all white cat -- found her hiding spot in our closet, and the only reason I could tell there were kittens hidden with her was Titi's little wriggly, black body (she lightened to her grey and white coloring as she grew). Titi needed emergency surgery on April 21, 2025 at the MSU Small Animal Clinic in East Lansing, MI, to remove a foreign object stuck somewhere in her digestive track (surgery happening as I type this so details aren't all known yet). But she's a healthy, active kitty who, the vet assures me, should do just fine in this type of routine, though wholly unexpected, surgery. Titi is is a vocal kitty who lets us know when something is not right -- typically a subpar amount food in her bowl, but she let us know something much bigger was off on April 21. She is also our 2.5-y.o.'s BFF. "Kitty loves me" was one of his first complete sentences. He knew she was going to the vet in the morning as he went to day care, and asked about her immediately when he came home. The cost of an emergency vet surgery was not something we were prepared to handle. But there was no way I could tell our kids we couldn't afford to help our kitty get healthy again, especially when this should be something Titi should be able to recover from easily.

Crowley is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Bay City, MI, who needs $2,000 for Exploratory Abdominal Surgery and Hospitalization.

Bay City, MI

Every trip to the pet store starts the same, with me giving some love to the furry babies looking for a forever home. I poked a finger into the cat cage to scrub them. And this one little grey kitten "Sweet William" latched onto my finger sinking his claws into my finger so I couldn't pull away. And then gave the more affectionate licks I ever got from a cat and thats when I knew I had to have him Crowley has a knack for finding non edible things to snack on. We catch him with one and remove it from the house, just for him to find another. This time didn't go as smooth. This time going after one of my sons Dino toys. He threw it up like always, or so I though. The following day he wasn't acting like him, didn't care for food, toys, affection. But now we have him at Michigan State University Every time I pick him up, he reminds me of a happy puppy as he gives me kisses until my skin is raw. He only snuggles up to my daughter and she absolutely loves him, we often fight over who's cat he is. He's big, but he is active and has so much energy. Our Mini Aussie is another good friend and they often play and snuggle together, even occasionally pulling our other cat into the pile. We were prepared with a little emergency fund, it had been enough in the past. But his needs far exceeded what we ever thought we'd have to pay. But there's nothing we won't do to make sure he makes it home to his kid.

Mollie loves her family and friends! Loves to greet everyone who comes to visit us by wagging that tail and showing excitement! She loves car rides, walks, and playing in the snow! Mollie was recently diagnosed with a rare but treatable cancer called Agasaca at Michigan State animal medical center. It is a tumor of the anal gland and the mass is rather large. She requires a CT scan before she can have surgery to remove this tumor and give her another few years with her beloved family. Mollie loves kids and playing with her doggie friends!! She loves visiting her Grammy and Pappy’s house!! Mollie also loves going camping or just being anywhere her family is!! She expresses excitement when she sees visiting family and friends! The first thing she wants to do every morning is go for a walk! Mollie is a great dog who deserves an opportunity to continue being loved by her family❤️ This treatment plan for Mollie is costly and financially requires more than her owner can provide. Her owner is single and works two jobs to provide basic needs and provide Mollie with good quality care. She is a fighter who deserves the chance to have her life extended.

Junior is a 5 year old cat. He is my favorite cat. I have 4, but he's the sweetest. We have a special bond because he was the only survivor out of his litter. The mother didn't want much to do with him at first. All night, I used a syringe to give him formula and he survive! Now he's recently diagnosed with diabetes. He is certain to die without hospitalization. Junior was diagnosed with diabetes 3 weeks ago. He has a glucose monitor attached to his body and would t you know the stop thing doesn't work! He is in a state of ketoacidosis. He walks like he's drunk, cannot drink or eat. He's vomiting. He is an miserable and I'm trying to care for him at home. I need help. He is urinating on himself too. 😭 Junior sits on my lap, he's the only one who does out of all 4 cats. He has a cute little tail that's crooked and bent. His name is Junior bc he looks like his dad. He is special because he has the most unique personality. He wears little sweaters, he never could meow probably. He never really did play much. But he's the sweetest cat in the world. I lost my apartment, moved in with a roommate to save money. I worked for a political campaign and I'm waiting to receive unemployment. I am looking for work. I have almost enough to help my baby. I need about 2000 more. It will drain my bank account. It's worth it

Archie is a 12 year old Mix-Breed in Owosso, MI, who needs $250 for Veterinary Consultation & Initial Treatment Plan.

Owosso, MI

In 2012, I adopted Archie when he was 5 months old, and he joined my late dog and me, instantly filling our home with his fearless, loving spirit. His foster mom had named him 'Julian,' but after a few days, I decided to rename him 'Archie,' which means 'fearless hunter' in Scottish. The name fit him perfectly, capturing his bold, curious nature and his boundless energy. Until now, Archie has been healthy. He has been unable to eat for the past 48 hours. He wants to eat but after one bite, he backs away and squints his eyes and then hisses. He has no other symptoms – he’s bathing, sleeping normally, he just cannot eat. The cost to take him to the emergency vet is $205 just to be seen, on top of whatever treatments he may need. Archie is truly one-of-a-kind. He’s not keen on other cats or kids, but he adores people, greeting anyone who comes to the door. Trained almost like a dog by watching his late big (dog) brother, Archie’s quirks have filled my life with joy and laughter. For 12 years, he’s been my constant companion, and the thought of him being in pain and/or losing him breaks my heart. I’m a freelancer recently back to work after a couple of months off due to COVID. Until I get paid soon, I have no way to cover this myself, and I have no support system to turn to. I’m working hard to catch up, but Archie urgently needs treatment. So grateful for any help!

Zoe came to us in October 2018. She was always the sweetest most loving dog I have ever had. We have her hypo triglyceride anemia in control. Her diabetes is a work in progress and her blindness needs surgery to help her be back to a normal happy. After everything she has done for me it’s the least I can do is give her back her sight. Zoe was diagnosed with diabetes, hypo triglyceride anemia, and idiopathic encephalitis. In march we had to admit her to MSU vet hospital. To have them Get her numbers normal, that was a $6000 hospital stay. We are still paying about $500 for her home medication and that once a month for her to go in for her chemo at $4-$500 We were good until about we found out she is blind surgery is $6000 Zoe has become my best friend. She can sense when my heart rate is too high, she lays on my chest when I’m anxious or having a panic attack. So not only is she my families baby, but she helps me through my medical conditions. She stays with me during good and bad days like she was trained. But she has not been. She helps me without any service dog training. My baby has had a rough 6 months. But she is doing so well with the meds and chemo. But unfortunately with all of her other costs coming up with another $6000 is going to take us forever and she is already blind. I want to give her back her eyesight so she can be happy.

Sleeps in her bed every night. Loves to play and snuggle. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. Took him to emergency vet and they found that he had IMHA. Which is usually found in older dogs. It’s an autoimmune issue where his body is attacking his RBC and his bone marrow isn’t producing new RBC. He needs blood transfusions to get his count up. It is at 17%. That day we brought him home next day back in er count went to 9%. He needs blood transfusions to help him. Our little boy has his big brother dog and cat as best friends. His blood sister dog lives down the street from us. He loves to play and have fun. Love to cuddle and give kisses. He loves his human sister so much he looks after her like he’s her baby sitter. He loves all toys. I am on disability and it makes it hard to pay for this big bill for him. He is a family member who we love so much. Lake Odessa, MI

I’ve had Bailey since she was 3 months old. She was headed to a puppy mill and a local store owner had her on the counter hoping someone would adopt her. Well that someone was me! I knew as soon as I saw her that she was coming home with me. She is a big dog but so loving. We live in a small one bed apartment but she loves it anyway. A couple months ago I was on a walk with Bailey and realized she was bleeding after going poo. While cleaning her up I felt a small lump. Off to the vet we went. Found out she had a mass. MSU Veterinary Clinic has taken over and said the mass must be removed. She needs a CT scan to be sure this is the only mass. And to be sure her heart is in good condition. Bailey is so special to me! She knows when my blood sugars are off and lets me know. She is terrified of noise so getting her properly trained was not an option. Every day she lets me know just how much she loves me and needs me as much as I need her. She loves people, not so much other animals though. Due to my own medical conditions getting worse I am currently unable to work. Never did I expect this to be the case. I’m heartbroken over not being able to pay for Baileys surgery to make her better. My hope is that people will be able to help and Bailey will be ok again.

Lexie has been a part of our family for nearly 4 years. As with all of our previous pets, they become part of the family and get as spoiled as your own children. She shares our home like she is one of us. In her usual downtime she enjoys resting on the couch blanket. Otherwise she used to be a very playful pup. With those times becoming fewer, we certainly miss them. Lexie is a great and loyal companion for our family. Being a working/herding dog, she always needs to know where every one of us are in the house, and protective of the house itself. She loves sleeping with my daughter on her bed. When my other two kids come to visit, she is always the first one they go up to. She is a great family member. Lexie loves swimming, going on hikes, playing fetch and tug, and just enjoys being active. There are times when she will just come up to you and, with a high-pitched play bark, let you know she wants to play. She has more facial and body expressions than I have seen in any animal. We almost know what she is thinking at all times... and she probably knows what we are thinking as well:) Lexie developed a severe ear infection a few months ago that was continually treated by our long-time veterinarian at Plaza Vet. After several regimens of treatment for the infection, and ruptured eardrum as a result of the infection, she developed a head-tilt over the course of treatments. He then referred us to the MSU small animal clinic where they did a CT scan and found several anomalies. At a time when we have college expenses, as well as just trying to get by due to the cost of inflation, this is an extraordinary expense that was not anticipated. I know a lot of people say "it is just a pet", but it is more than a pet. It is a family member.

After my last cat, Bibi, passed away at 18 years old, I came across an a Facebook post for a massive ragdoll cat available for adoption. I immediately fell in love with him and his goofy personality. I drove all the way to Chicago to pick him up and we have been inseparable since. I adopted him when he was nine years old and he fit right in with us. Momo often acts more dog-like than cat-like. He loves to follow me around and snuggle in bed, on the couch, or on the floor. If I'm brushing my teeth he's under laying on my feet, and if I'm watching TV he's curled up on top of me. He expresses his love by kneading me and drooling over me when I give him pets. He is the most loving and affectionate cat I've ever met and I feel lucky to have him. Momo is a very chatty, goofy cat. He wakes me up at 6am sharp for breakfast, and will cry at me in the same way when he needs cuddles. When I get home from work, we have a routine where I lay on the couch with a blanket and he hops up and gets under the blanket, where we usually fall asleep and take a cat nap together. This is the highlight of each day for me, and I think it's Momo's too. We are pursuing cancer treatment for Momo at the Michigan State University Veterinary Medical Center Radiation Oncology clinic. Last month, he was diagnosed with an injection site sarcoma. This is a very aggressive cancer that is known to reoccur quickly, and radiation therapy is seen as critical following an aggressive surgery for the best possible prognosis. Momo's tumor removal surgery, oncology consultation, radiation planning scans, and radiation therapy are estimated to cost a total of $7000. Momo is my little best friend and I can't imagine life without him. This treatment will give him a new lease on life.

Hello I rescued at the age of 6 months old. Dexter is the most loving 2 year old handsome Maltese. He’s brought joy to our lives especially my 9 year old. I call him kissy poo because he loves giving kisses every morning up until he fell ill on Nov 5th, Dexter was full of life and enjoys walks and chasing squirrels. From the second we wake up sweet Dexter is giving kisses and is a joy every morning and throughout the day, he is so loving, he loves our cat and is so gentle with the two little cockatiels we have (they actually sit on top of him) Dexter sleeps with my 9 year old son every night and that’s my sons safety at night he can’t, his nights at the hospital my son had a rough time sleeping. Dexter brings joy to my son and I on a daily basis, he is silly and sweet at the same time although he does have a mischievous look on his cute face at times, he’s our blessing. Dexter was diagnosed with PIMA, a condition where his immune system attacks his red blood cells. He got 4 transfusions & is on meds since Nov 5, his meds can take 2-3 months to kick in, it’s been 6 weeks until then Dexter needs more tests, abdominal ultrasound, & possibly another 1-2 blood transfusions along with seeing a specialist. He's being treated at MSU & healing care animal hospital Doctors say Dexter will have a good prognosis once meds kick in. I’ve exhausted my savings & all my credit. He's very close for his meds to kick in & being healthy. He needs a few more tests and 1-2 transfusions. Please help me save Dexter 🙏 we will forever be grateful

Our pets are part of our family. They do everything with us from walks, swimming, watching tv and watching the sunsets. We treat them with lots of love. Needless to say they are spoiled rotten. We love our rescue pups. They have become a good emotional support for us during tough times we have even created “voices” of hold conversations with them. Lol. We have had two catastrophic events occur with our fur-babies over the last month. -Josie, who was an 8 yr old pitbull had passed away traumatically. -The last week in September, we only had Nova for 2 wks. She was playing with our other dog Winston. He ran into her and fractured two ribs and created lesions on her lung. She had to have 1/3 of her lung removed and at MSU for 5 days. It has cost $7500 for Nova’s care. This is our daughters dog and she works part time and is a student. We have helped out but it is straining our funds.

lansing, MI

about late 2021 my dad came home with him & he was about 4 months old, rebels lives up to his name, he is a very hyper mischievous dog, but we still love him dearly. rebel has like 6 different nicks names but they main one we call him is webby. we got adopted dog in march of 2022 (pit) & as time went on they started getting into fights but we’re able to break them up (safely) but this time was bad rebel lives going for walks & playing tug a war, he is very clingy & loves to cuddle & guard the house by barking at whom ever he sees getting close. he absolutely loves treats (cucumbers are his favorite) he is very loyal & protective. he loves ear rubs & getting held. he loves his mom very much that’s his favorite human. but rebel is a very sweet dog rebel enjoys massages from massage guns, he loves barging in peoples rooms with his nose & forcing people to give him rubs. he loves looking out the window to see if there’s anyone he can bark at too. achilles (the newer dog) has been recently bullying rebel & we have been trying to stop this behavior & intervene whenever we can, achilles always starts the fights even if rebel isn’t doing anything wrong, this time they fought bad & my dad tried to break it up but ended up getting badly injured & going to the hospital, rebel to the emergency vet he’s limping & has severe bites all over him. my father lost his job a couple months & we’ve been struggling financially & we only have one stream of income. he’s really important to our family.

Merlin

Merlin is a 10-month-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Lansing, MI, who needs $2,000 for Liver Shunt Surgery.

Lansing, MI

Merlin was my 9th foster cat, and my first foster failure. I took his photos for petfinder at the shelter, and thought about him for a week afterwards. I knew I needed to foster him, so I did! Within 24 hours of him being with me at my apartment, I knew he was mine, and I adopted him. He spent a majority of his life in a cage, and I want to give Merlin the life he deserves. Merlin grew up with no exposure to dogs, and he started off hissing and swatting at my two Great Danes, but within a few days, he became best friends with them! He loves sleeping on the couch with all of us, cuddled in the middle of the large dogs, with a blanket wrapped around him. He's just so friendly with everyone he meets. Merlin is the most special boy. He loves toasting himself in front of the fireplace, and sleeping under the Christmas tree. His favorite toys are spring toys, which he will chase around the house for over an hour. When. I first met him, I remember him being so dusty and covered in lint, I called him "dusty boy". He loves sleeping on my face and cuddling in my arm each night. Merlin has an extrahepatic splenophrenic portosystemic shunt. His blood is bypassing the portal vein and not being cleaned of toxins by the liver. Because of this, he has a high levels of ammonium in his blood, which results in chronic diarrhea, ammonium urate bladder stones, and kidney stones. Merlin needs a surgery to reroute blood to his liver. I'm a second year veterinary student at Michigan State university. I have a lot of student debt, and I am devoting my time and money to learn how to care for other people's cats and dogs. I would just like to be able to help mine.
