Reese
Reese is a 6 year old Mix-Breed in Baton Rouge, LA, who needs $3,000 for Diabetes Management and Cataracts Surgery.
Baton Rouge, LA
This is my wife’s dog that she got when she was barely 14 years old. Her family didn’t care for Reese too much, but my wife did everything thing in her power to take care of Reese. We left for college, and her family neglected Reese’s lifestyle and let her develop complications that were not cared for. We moved her to our college town a couple weeks ago and are doing our best to care for our pup. Reese was diagnosed with diabetes, Horner’s Syndrome, a UTI, hyperthyroidism, and allergies. All very recently. She has recently been a patient at Sherwood South Animal Hospital. She is the sweetest and silliest pup to her owners. She is adorably sassy and loves to huff when she doesn’t quite get her way. She loves back and belly scratches, and was only taught one command, “Kisses!” She loves to give you a kiss if she tolerates you enough. Her health has hindered her playfulness, but every now and then she’ll return to her youthful side and get playful with her toys. We’re college students that work multiple jobs each to keep finances going. We just spend around $2,000 in the last 10 or so days. The neglect Reese received from her previous owners fell on us, and we need the help to recover from these debilitating payments.

Dot and Puppies
Dot and Her Five Puppies Need Your Help
Walker, LA • Rescue Rehome Repeat
Dot's story didn't end when the surgery was over... Just days ago, Dot and her five puppies were given a second chance. When Dot came into Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana, she was pregnant and nearing delivery. Despite every indication that labor should have begun, her puppies simply weren't coming. As her condition became more urgent, there was only one option left to save her life and the lives of her unborn puppies: an emergency C-section. Thanks to the quick actions of her veterinary team, Dot delivered five healthy puppies. But the story didn't end there. Dot is now recovering from major surgery while her foster family provides around-the-clock care for both mom and her newborn puppies. As expected after an emergency C-section, Dot is still adjusting and is not yet accepting her babies, making these first weeks especially critical as her foster family ensures everyone remains safe, fed, and cared for. Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana never hesitated when Dot needed lifesaving care. They said "yes" to saving this little family, knowing the emergency surgery and ongoing care would come with significant veterinary expenses. Now they're asking for your help. Your donation will help cover Dot's emergency surgery, hospitalization, medications, follow-up veterinary care, and the continued care and supplies needed to give both mom and her five puppies the healthiest possible start. Just as importantly, your support helps ensure the rescue can continue saying "yes" when the next animal arrives needing urgent medical care. Because of compassionate supporters like you, Dot and her puppies have a future. Thank you for helping Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana give this little family—and so many others—the second chances they deserve. 7/23/26 Update: Dot and Her Puppies Are Making Progress Dot and her little family continue to make encouraging progress! After a brief setback caused by a reaction to one of her medications, Dot is now recovering well. Her foster family spent several sleepless nights caring for both mom and babies while Dot regained her strength, and thankfully she is doing much better. Best of all, Dot is now accepting and caring for her puppies, which is a great sign after the difficult start they experienced together. The puppies have also reached an exciting milestone—their eyes have officially opened, and they're beginning to experience the world around them for the very first time. As they continue to grow, Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana is keeping a close watch on two of the puppies, who are completely white. At this young age, it's too soon to know for certain, but there is a possibility they could be blind, deaf, or both. Their development will continue to be carefully monitored over the coming weeks. Dot's emergency C-section gave her and her five puppies the chance to survive. Now, as Dot continues recovering from surgery and caring for her babies, the family still needs ongoing veterinary care, medications, nutritious food, and daily support as the puppies continue to grow. If you're able, please consider making a donation to help cover the cost of Dot's lifesaving surgery and her family's continued care. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps Rescue Rehome Repeat of South Louisiana give this little family the healthy future they deserve.

BooBoo Kitty
BooBoo Kitty is a 8 month old American Shorthair in Denham Springs, LA, who needs $2,000 for PU (Perineal Urethrostomy) Surgery.
Denham Springs, LA
He was a stray cat that kept coming to my mom’s house. I gave her some food to give him when I couldn’t stop by to visit. Eventually, we decided to bring him home and check to see if he was microchipped. He was not, so we decided to keep him because he really is such a sweet boy. He was recently neutered 6/28/25 at a local nonprofit clinic. When I picked him up, he had a small red dot on his surgery site. I didn’t think it was anything alarming. I’ve never owned a cat before. Monday evening (6/30/25), I just felt very concerned because the red thing wasn’t going away and looked like it was sticking out a little bit more. I emailed the founder/president of the nonprofit. (Medical situation continued) “This occasionally can happen with males. If you're comfortable you can just push on it so it goes back in. Be sure he isnt licking it. He might need a surgical suit.” This was the response I received. We went to get some food and some qtips to push it back in and when we got home it was protruding more. I took him to the emergency vet and am now having to pay $2000. I am low income which is why I chose the nonprofit in the first place. I don’t have the means to pay $2000. I’m a single mother of two and we’ve grown deeply attached to this sweet boy.

Darcy
Darcy is a 2 year old Siamese in Baton Rouge, LA, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization, Blood work, Labs, IV fluids, etc..
Baton Rouge, LA
My cats Darcy and Bingley were rescues from my old upstairs neighbor. Her brother dropped them off with her and said if she didn’t take them, he was going to dump them. She had small children and no room for kittens, so I took them. I’ve had them for nearly two years now, we live in a new apartment, they’re both wonderful and I love them dearly. I’ve done my best to be the best cat mom I can be! Three days ago, I noticed Darcy acting very lethargic. The next night, he woke up out of sleep, ran to the hallway, and threw up a lot of bile. Later that night, I noticed blood on my pillow from him. So, I brought him to Sherwood South Animal Hospital and they said his potassium levels were off the charts and he had Acute Kidney Injury. He’s been there for two nights now, Bingley and I miss him. Darcy is truly a perfect cat. He’s so well-behaved (unlike his crazy brother haha). He is incredible and loves to play, but also loves to relax. He loves treats and keeping his brother in check. He’s a very good boy. I got in a car accident a few years ago, but lost my health insurance. I was still living with my parents. When I got a job, I was finally able to start getting treatment for my constant pain, but it costs about $300/month. I also just had to get an alternator for my car.

Maji
Maji is a 7 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Baton Rouge , LA, who needs $2,000 for Splenectomy.
Baton Rouge, LA
In 2017 I purchased my darling ( Maji) from one of my neighbors. She was 6 weeks at the time and what what made her stand out was the fact she was the only breendel in the bunch:)… I am aware of the reputation that pitbulls may have but Maji doesn’t display any aggressive characteristics and is a really sweet big baby🥺… She is amazing with my grandkids and loved by anyone who’s ever met her Maji has been diagnosed with having a splenic ruptured mass( Hemoabdomen). Her survival is dependent upon having her spleen removed. The Ems Critical Care Hospital gave us a box of Yunnan Baiyau capsules to minimize the internal bleeding until she can have the much needed surgery to not only help her to recover but one that her survival is dependent upon. It’s very disheartening to see her suffer. Maji has the brightest and most heartwarming smile. She is so energetic and when she sees her favorite frisby she goes insane with anticipation lol. Even my family members who are afraid of dogs have no problem with being around Maji because she has a way to melt the hardest ❤️ heart. With other pets ( all pets) she is always playful. So many of my neighbors love to just come and rub her dailey I’m in need of assistance with her surgery because unfortunately my salary isn’t enough to cover her expenses and my cost of living( bills). Losing Maji would be like losing my daughter. She isn’t just a pet she’s ( my daughter). I would give anything to see her healed

Isaiah
Isaiah is a 3-year-old Husky in Baker, LA, who needs $2,000 for Treatment for Anaphylaxis and Gallbladder Damage.
Baker, LA
Isaiah is our 3 1/2 year old Siberian husky fur baby. He is a rescue dog, but I personally question “Who rescued who?” He is so lively and playful. There’s never a bad day when Isaiah is around. He loves long walks, chew toys, watching TV, sleeping at the end of the bed, raiding the pantry for snacks and “singing” at the most inappropriate times (i.e. when my neighbors are trying to sleep). My husband and I have no children, so over the years we’ve adopted fur babies into our home from the local shelters. As expected, each one has their own unique personality. We currently have two babies in the home, and let’s just say that Isaiah is the attention hog. He has no problem nudging arms, bringing his brush or food/water bowl and dropping it at your feet to make his demands known. This weekend, Isaiah was bit by something in our yard. He went into anaphylactic shock and suffered damage to his gallbladder. Diagnostics cost $400. As any parent of a fur baby knows, emergency vet visits can be costly, especially on the weekends. Isaiah has needed continuous care including epinephrine, IV fluids/meds, as well as a blood transfusion ($700+ by itself.) Projected cost are $3800. We are asking that you please assist us in offsetting this expense. We don’t have pet insurance, but we want Isaiah to get better and come home safely to us. All donations, big or small, matter. We thank you in advance for your donations during our time of need.

Murphy
Murphy is a 6-year-old Terrier Mix in Baton Rouge, LA, who needs $900 for emergency care.
Baton Rouge LA, LA
In 2016 a small terrier mix was found running in the middle of busy road in Baton Rouge, LA. His picture was posted on our Neighborhood site for anyone who wanted him and give him a forever home. One of my neighbors decided to "give him a chance." Four months later I found him running loose. Later I discovered he had been thrown out and no longer wanted. That day he became a member of our family. Murphy is a delightful pup. Full of love and wants attention. He was house trained and loved walking throughout the neighborhood. He gets along well with Ernie (cat) and Louie (dog). He is loved by my husband (who passed on February 11, 2021 from cancer), Andrew (son) and myself. Murphy is also my shoulder to cry on and my reading buddy. I love him very much and so upset that he is now ill. I recently lost my husband to cancer which resulted in a decrease of income. I am retired and on a fixed income. I so need my fur baby healthy and back home where he belongs. Please, please help. On Tuesday, 9/28/21, Murphy became extremely ill. He was throwing up non stop. On Wednesday, 9/29/21 I rushed him to my veterinarian (Jefferson Animal Hospital). After extensive blood work discovered he was extremely dehydrated, severe case of pancreatitis and is diabetic (sugar level was 600). I had to rush him to the emergency hospital (Sherwood South Animal Hospital). He was admitted and is still there. Murphy has a silly smile and crazy ways. He will stand up to the cat and then sleep with the cat in the same bed. He loves to cuddle and gives me many happy days. He follows me wherever I go and tries to help do things that he can't understand is not meant for dogs. I would however love it if he could cut the lawn or do the laundry. LOL.
