One day I heard crying outside and my mom and I found a litter of kittens abandoned outside. We worked with rescues and the community to get most of them adopted but one of them was very calm and quiet and super sweet so I said we should keep him. He gets around with the other cats very well too. He always comes and lays down next to me for his naps and is the sweetest most friendly cat I’ve seen! Yesterday my cat Louie started vomiting and having difficulty going in the litter box. He vomited six times and tried multiple times to pee in the litter box. He would push and push but only a drop or two would come out. He hasn’t eaten anything for a couple of days but today he is drinking a little. He’s also been severely lethargic and weak. The vet I saw today is Arrowview animal hospital My cat Louie is special because he is my family and my best friend. He always comes to me and lays down next to me for his naps. He always head butts me and is always there when I need company. He is so so sweet and I can’t imagine what I’d do without him. I recently lost my job and had to move back in with my mom until I can find a more stable job to get by. I am currently self employed and so I barely make enough to get by right now and can’t afford to pay a high vet bill right now.

When my family and I became homeless in January 2025, I was lucky enough to find the right person to help me certify Malaga as my emotional support animal. Since securing LIHTC housing as an extremely low-income family, we are still at-risk of homelessness. Due to being the sole-parent to my son and going back to school this semester as a full-time student, I need Malaga more than ever! Malaga cries out in pain whenever she begins to yawn and whenever she attempts to eat; now, refusing to eat and drink. Due to this being a life or death situation, I have been trying to enforce her water intake with a baby syringe. If I’m able to attain the emergency funds to get her the medics help she is needing, I would immediately take her to the HOPE Animal Foundation to get her treated. Since rescuing Malaga in August 2022, she has become an equal member of my family, and a special companion to me during times when I struggle to overcome mental health challenges. From the first day my family and I became homeless, she was the only one to show me what family truly means. She loved me during the most difficult challenge I have ever overcome. She’s my best friend. During our fight with homelessness, I exhausted, both, my son and I’s savings that I had worked so hard for. The emergency funds I would’ve had right now would’ve been spent on Malaga’s emergency treatment. To have Malaga live another normal day, would mean everything to me!

Bynx came into my life almost 4 years ago as a kitten. I saw a hoarding post on Facebook and knew I needed to help. I.took by x in and he's been a loving part of the family since. He has overcome and beat fip and just deserves the best. I honestly cant imagine without him. Hes literally our world or a big part of the family. Recently Bynx has not been acting himself. Today after seeing the vet we found out he has a intestinal blockage partial from getting into something he should not have. Bynx is like a jealous baby. He loves to be cuddled and cradled. He gets jealous quickly like a toddler. Hes very vocal and isn't afraid to express his feelings. This is very unexpected and I am single mother of 2 daughters with a very fixed income especially following the holidays. I do have credit cards for emergency but I am not sure this will cover the entire costs of his care.

Smokie Norton is a community cat who recently showed up at my apartment complex. When I first saw him, he appeared healthy but was being harassed by a dominant neighborhood tom. Over the next couple of days, he began limping and crying in pain. I started feeding him, gained his trust, and worked for days to safely trap him so he could get medical help Smokie Norton has a serious leg wound consistent with an infected bite injury from a fight with another cat. These wounds can become life-threatening without prompt treatment. He needs an exam, wound cleaning, antibiotics, and pain management. Smokie is being taken to VEG ER for Pets for evaluation and treatment. Although Smokie is a stray, he is gentle, observant, and clearly trying to survive despite his pain. He follows from a distance, watches carefully, and slowly learned to trust me enough to come near the trap. His resilience and quiet determination stood out, and once injured, he continued seeking help instead of hiding As a community cat, Smokie has no owner or financial support. Unexpected emergency veterinary care is costly, and I cannot cover this expense alone. My cat had been through many homes. My cousin got him from a couple that would keep him locked in the basement. I later adopted him from my cousin because his dog would attack him. Mr.Whiskers has been my best friend for the last 2 years. For the last month his health has been seemingly deteriorating. Hes coughing and wheezing. He's lost weight. He doesn't want his treats like he used to. He breathes really fast and weird. I can tell he's sad and in pain. Hes usually right by my side. Follows me everywhere. Sleeps curled up me. Hes such a smart kitty. He knows when someone's having a bad day and will give them cuddles and love. Hes just the sweetest gentlest kitty. I love him so much. Hes got the cutest little white murder mittens aka hes got little white paws that look like little gloves lol I've been out of work because of a bad accident. Still recovering from fractured ribs and a broken tailbone. Im already behind on water and elec bills but I care about my cat more. He needs to see the vet immediately. Im scared he'll die waiting for me to be able to take him

Vito came to us after his companion was no longer able to care for him.He was 3 months old, and I quickly found myself spending every extra moment to snuggle, walk, talk to, and just be around Vito.I noticed after a short time, that before I had a panic attack,Vito would come to me and sit on my feet, or lay in my lap to let me know. Vito has since been classified a service animal, per my Dr. A year ago, he yawned and I saw a lump on the top of his mouth in the back.Vito's primary vet performed a day surgery to remove it.The labs came back as either melonoma or carcenoma.We were referred to Lake County Veterinary Clinic,where they specialize in oral surgery.Dr. Grace Brown is confident she can remove the mass,and get clean margins so it won't return, which is fantastic news! Vito has done so much for us, and he's such an amazing, loving, smart, caring, helpful companion. I am coming to ask for help for my Rosie. She is more to me than just a dog, she is my baby, my best friend. Rosie has been my guardian angel since she was a baby. Let me explain, see I have a brain tumor and I have seizures while I sleep and Rosie knows when I’m having them and she helps me come out of it. Rosie has a human soak, she has always seemed as if she understood everything I was saying or feeling. A few months ago my little brother was killed and she jumped on my lap and she put her head on my chest and comforted me while I was crying uncontrollably. Rosie feels me. One time I was away from her and I was having a seizure and at the same time she started running around and howling and crying and trying to get the attention of whoever was around her. She wouldn’t stop till they took her to me and she knew I was ok. I need my Rosie girl and I know she is getting older and one day she will have to go to heaven but I’m hoping her time is not now. She is not fixed, I have not had the money for that so she goes into heat. Rosie went into heat about a month ago and since then she has kept bleeding and about a week ago she pooped out a puddle of blood. Ian afraid she might be bleeding inside or something. I don’t know what to do I don’t have the money for vet bills but I can’t just ignore this she deserves more then that. Rosie is a very special dog, everyone who meets her agrees. My name is Felicia, I’m 47 years old and I’ve never owned a pet. As a child I was fearful of dogs but as I became an adult I grew out of it but never thought I would own a dog. My husband and I finally had the opportunity to have a pet, my cousin brought Honey to our home and it was love at first sight. We’ve had her for about 2 months and she has brought so much joy and love to our home. On Christmas Day I was at my mother’s home for Christmas and Honey and my mother’s dog was in the backyard as they always do but somehow she got through a small opening in the fence and got close to the road and injured her right hind leg. I am so heart broken. We took her to the vet and she will need surgery. We just got pet insurance this week but we’re not sure if it will cover the surgery which is over $6,000. My husband is a disabled veteran and I work as a substitute teacher while taking college courses. We would appreciate any help so we can get our baby’s surgery.

I adopted Fiona from Tender Loving Care Animal Shelter on October 22,2022. I kept her name as I thought it was a pretty name and different for a cat. We have been together for 3 years now and have developed a close bond in those 3 years. She loves to play and get my attention. She enjoys laying on my lap which brings her comfort. She has a wonderful character and enjoys her home and life. On December 2, 2025 I took Fiona to the Veterinary Dental Center in Aurora, IL for a consultation of her teeth. Fiona’s regular vet at Banfield Pet Hospital recommended this center as she developed serious issues with her gums. Fiona has severe gingivitis in all 4 quadrants, inner lip inflammation/fibrosis and sores in the back of her throat. She requires all of her teeth removed to the problem Fiona loves her catnip toys. I give her regular catnip which she loves. She will even eat some of the catnip. She is afraid of thunder and will come close to me for comfort and will go in a safe place to get away from the sound. She loves sitting on the balcony in the warm months. She loves to have her head rubbed and will nudge me to do so. It is quite cute as she enjoys this. This was an unexpected expense and news about Fiona’s teeth that they need to all be extracted to combat the disease. I’m retired and on a fixed income. I work part time for added income. My savings is not enough to cover the cost to extract Fiona’s teeth as she needs.
