Help Halo, a Young Filly, Fight Through a Life-Threatening Colic Emergency

Elgin, TX • Animal Rescue Rehab Kingdom (The Arrk)

Help Halo Fight Through a Severe Colic Emergency Halo is one of the youngest horses in our care at Animal Rescue Rehab Kingdom (The Arrk), and she has already overcome more than any young horse should have to endure. At just 6 months old, Halo was left neglected by her previous breeder/owner with a severe laceration to her back right fetlock. Despite the odds, this brave young filly fought her way through her injuries and continued moving forward. Now, Halo is facing another serious fight. Tuesday night, we noticed that something was wrong. Halo was depressed and lethargic, and by Wednesday morning, our mobile veterinarian was at the farm to examine her. We quickly learned that she was severely impacted and beginning to bloat. Severe colic can become life-threatening very quickly, which is why Halo needed emergency veterinary care and close monitoring. With colic, time matters. Halo needed emergency care, and we had to act quickly. With the help of skilled veterinarians and many prayers, Halo made it through her first night at an emergency clinic. We visited her this morning and were encouraged to see signs of improvement, but she is not out of the woods yet. She continues to need veterinary care and monitoring as she recovers. Unfortunately, this emergency has come at an especially difficult time for our rescue. Donations have slowed significantly over the summer, and our savings are nearly depleted. Halo’s veterinary expenses have already exceeded $3,500, including the emergency farm call and her first overnight stay at the emergency clinic, and her care is ongoing. We need your help to continue providing Halo with the emergency veterinary care she needs. Every donation will help The Arrk cover the cost of Halo’s emergency treatment and give this young survivor the best chance of coming through yet another difficult chapter. Halo has already fought so hard for her life. Please help us fight alongside her. ❤️

💔URGENT: SUNNY NEEDS A PROSTHETIC LEG! PLEASE HELP HIM WALK AGAIN! ❤️🙏

Kendall, FL • Adopt and Save a Life Rescue Mission

Our sweet Sunny survived bone cancer and underwent the amputation of one of his legs. But now he is facing another heartbreaking challenge. Sunny is having a very difficult time walking on just three legs, and we desperately need help getting him evaluated and fitted for a prosthetic leg so he can move around more comfortably. 💔 After everything this boy has already endured, all we want is to give him the opportunity to walk, play, and enjoy life without struggling every day. ❤️ SUNNY'S STORY Sunny first came to our attention when he began limping and struggling to use one of his legs. We immediately took him to the veterinarian, where we received devastating news: Sunny had osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer. Thankfully, his testing showed no evidence that the cancer had spread at that time. His veterinarian recommended amputating the affected leg to remove the cancerous bone and help relieve his pain. We moved forward with the surgery because Sunny deserved that chance. And Sunny fought through it. ❤️ Today, he is still eating, enjoying attention, and showing us how much he wants to live. But adjusting to life on three legs has been harder for him than we hoped. NOW SUNNY NEEDS OUR HELP AGAIN. We want to explore a custom prosthetic leg or another mobility solution recommended by a veterinary specialist to help Sunny walk more comfortably and improve his quality of life. As a small nonprofit rescue caring for so many abandoned and neglected animals, we are overwhelmed with medical expenses. We have already spent so much trying to save Sunny's life, and we cannot afford this next step without our community. 🙏 PLEASE HELP SUNNY GET BACK ON HIS FEET! Even a donation of $5, $10, $20, or whatever you can spare will help us work toward the specialized care and mobility support he needs. If you cannot donate, PLEASE SHARE SUNNY'S STORY. One share could reach someone who can help him. Sunny has already lost a leg to cancer. We don't want him to lose his chance at a happy, comfortable life, too. ❤️ He has fought so hard to be here. Please help us make every day worth that fight. Help Pooh bear get Hospitalization & blood transfusions / skin treatm — FL

FL

I have had Pooh bear for two weeks now we got him out of the blue in the craziest situation, getting off a river from kayaking, there was a storm that drove us out, locked my keys in the trunk because they were in a waterproof box and if none of that would’ve happened, I would’ve never ran into the people who were giving away puppies for free at the river. That’s where I met Pooh bear. The last one left the front of the pack. Small, frail fragile, but so cuddly and sweet. He’s very attached. He likes to be close by. He loves cuddles and soft blankets. He crosses his arms when he’s most comfortable. He has a bad case of roundworms and hookworms. As well as a skin condition called puppy pyoderma His immune system is weak and cannot fight them off even with medication he’s anemic due to the worms. He needs fluids and a blood transfusion to get back on track and be able to feel well enough to eat and gain some weight get on some more dewormer and get those nasty worms out out of there but his health is standing in the way, and his immune system isn’t strong enough right now. I have had him seen by Dunedin Medical Center and they deemed him necessary to be hospitalized. We have put our all into Pooh bear’s recovery and would just like to see him get better. We love him so much already and are committed to his success. Financially, I was not prepared for the situation when I was presented with the puppy at the river. I just went into Mama mode and wanted to rescue him because God knows where he would’ve ended up. Financially, I struggle with the hospitalization expense..
