Help Layla get Surgery — MA

MA

She has always been the calm, quiet one in our family, with the sweetest and gentlest personality. She may not be loud or demanding, but she is happiest when she is close to the people she loves. She loves cuddling, curling up beside us, and simply being wherever her family is. She recently swallowed a pork bone and needed emergency veterinary care because of the blockage and internal injury. She has already undergone evaluation and treatment, but she still needs close monitoring and may require additional testing, hospitalization, or further procedures depending on how her condition progresses. Our bond is incredibly special because she is truly my best friend. She has been there through so many moments of my life, always offering quiet comfort just by being beside me. She does not need to do anything extraordinary, her presence alone makes me feel less alone. She means so much more to me than just being a pet; she is family and one of the greatest sources of comfort and love in my life. Our dog swallowed a pork bone and suddenly needed emergency veterinary care. What started as a frightening accident has turned into an overwhelming situation for our family. We have already put about $4,000 on credit cards because we could not bear the thought of not getting her the care she needs, and now we are being told she may need even more treatment. She is a deeply loved member of our family, and watching her go through this while also worrying about how we will afford to keep helping her has been heartbreaking. We have stretched ourselves as far as we can financially, but we are terrified that money could become the reason we cannot give her the treatment she needs. Any assistance, no matter the amount, would mean more to us than we can express and would give us hope that we can get her through this.

Help Mylo get IVDD SURGERY — Chicago, IL

Chicago, IL

Mylo’s Story ❤️🐾 Mylo is our beloved French Bulldog, and he came into our lives during one of the hardest times we’ve ever experienced. We got Mylo while our family was grieving the loss of my daughter’s dad. Somehow, this little dog brought us comfort, love, and joy when we needed it most. Mylo has been so much more than a pet—he has been part of our healing. He has helped us through some incredibly difficult days, and we love him dearly. Asking for help is not easy, but Mylo means the world to our family, and we want to do everything we can to help him feel better and give him the care he deserves. ❤️ If you’re able to donate, share his story, or simply keep Mylo in your thoughts, we would be incredibly grateful. Every little bit helps us get closer to covering his medical expenses. Unfortunately, Mylo is now dealing with painful IVDD flare ups and dealing with an infection in his back right leg that might cost him his leg. He needs veterinary care and treatment, and the costs are becoming more than we can manage on our own. Mylo is so special to us because he came into our lives when our family was going through one of the hardest losses we’ve ever experienced. While we were grieving, Mylo gave us something to smile about. His love, silly personality, and unconditional companionship helped us heal in ways we never expected. He will be needing an IVDD surgery. The cost of that is 10,000 we recently lost my spouses grandmother and have been going through some depression and anxiety. We are financially struggling. We can’t watch him suffer nor be able to give him up.

Help Mochi get Medial patellar luxation (MPL) — San Fransisco, CA

San Fransisco, CA

Mochi chose me when I needed him most. Five years ago, during a very lonely season in New York, I walked into a Long Island adoption space and he immediately climbed onto me and followed me from room to room. The staff laughed and said he had made his decision. Since then, he has been my talkative, playful, catnip-crazy shadow—and my best friend. After a big leap during play, Mochi landed awkwardly and developed right-hind-leg lameness. He was diagnosed with a grade 3 medial patellar luxation: his right kneecap slips from its position. His regular and emergency veterinarians agree he needs surgical correction to prevent pain, instability, and joint damage. Dr. Olivia Winson at Maverick Veterinary Surgery Service will provide his care. Mochi is my best friend, my emotional rock, and my little shadow. He got me through some of my darkest, loneliest times and made my home feel like home. He follows me everywhere, curls beside me when I read, talks back with perfect sass, and asks to be held every day. Watching my normally playful boy struggle to move and not be able to play freely has been heartbreaking. I work in nonprofit development, a field I love, but I cannot absorb an unexpected $3,300 surgery. I was declined by CareCredit and ScratchPay and have pursued other aid (no luck). I am asking my community for help so finances do not keep Mochi from the care he needs.

Three Legged Hiccup Needs Continued Veterinary Care

Joyful Pets Rescue, Inc.

Hiccup greets the day with his whole body. Toss a squeaky toy, and he's off across the room, bringing it back again and again with a look that says let's go one more time. When the fun winds down, you'll find him stretched out on the couch, as close to his people as he can get. He's smart, affectionate, and always ready for whatever comes next. He also happens to have three legs, and he's looking for a new loving home. A year ago, this three-year-old Labrador Retriever, American Pit Bull Terrier, and Mastiff mix arrived at a veterinary hospital with serious injuries that ultimately left him without one of his front legs. His recovery took an entire year, and his family stayed with him through every week of it, giving him the time and care he needed to heal. Today, Hiccup is a healthy, playful, affectionate 60-pound boy who hasn't let three legs slow him down. He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He knows ten different cues, including sit, stay, wait, touch, leave it, drop it, crate, stop, find it, and toy, and he lights up the moment it's time to train. Being ready for a new home doesn't always mean finding one quickly. Dogs like Hiccup often wait much longer simply because of their size, breed, or disability. He is safe and loved right where he is while he waits, and his family continues providing everything he needs to stay healthy, comfortable, and supported. And Hiccup's ongoing care adds up quickly. He takes several medications and supplements, including Solliquin, Apoquel, pregabalin, fluoxetine, fish oil, and monthly preventatives. He eats Hill's Sensitive Skin and Stomach food and attends regular follow-up appointments with a behaviorist. His veterinary needs include routine wellness care, bloodwork, fecal testing, vaccinations, and treatment to keep his ears healthy. Altogether, his ongoing expenses average approximately $370 every month. With his recent and upcoming veterinary care included, approximately $1,780 will go toward Hiccup's care over just 90 days. For a dog who may face a longer wait, those recurring costs don't stop simply because he is medically stable. Your donation helps his family cover Hiccup's medications, veterinary care, specialized diet, and behavioral support while he waits for a new loving family to find him. Supporting this campaign gives Hiccup the time he needs, without the cost of his extended care becoming one more obstacle in his journey. Hiccup has already come through the hardest chapter of his life. Now he needs people willing to stand behind him through the waiting. Please consider donating to support Hiccup as he continues his search for a new loving family, the one who will finally see what everyone who loves him already knows: three legs are more than enough for a very full life.

After a Lifetime of Neglect, Benny Finally Has a Home—Help Keep Him Comfortable

Loxahatchee, FL • Wild Whiskers, Inc.

When 4-pound, 12-year-old Benny arrived at our county shelter in March, it was immediately clear that this tiny senior had endured a lifetime without the care he deserved. Benny had never been neutered, had no teeth, and his lower jaw had deteriorated so severely that it was almost impossible to comprehend how he had survived for so long. But the biggest shock came when his bloodwork revealed kidney disease. Benny wasn't an adoption candidate. He was a hospice dog. Benny was pulled from the county shelter and transferred to Wild Whiskers, where we promised him that, whatever time he had left, he would finally have a safe home and someone fighting for him. And then we discovered something wonderful: Benny doesn't act like a hospice dog. This tiny little guy is still full of personality. He greets everyone who walks through the door with his wagging nub, jumps up for attention, loves people, and happily welcomes foster dogs and cats—including special-needs kittens. Despite everything he has endured, Benny has an enormous capacity for love. Of course, hospice care isn't always easy. Benny has days when he becomes extremely lethargic, won't eat, or doesn't want to get out of bed. Those moments are frightening, and his family carefully watches his quality of life to make sure he remains comfortable. But so far, Benny keeps getting back up. He's still eating. He's still enjoying attention. He's still loving his foster siblings. And he's still showing us that he's not ready to give up. As long as Benny is comfortable and enjoying his life, Wild Whiskers will continue giving him every good day possible. He receives subcutaneous fluids several times a week, supplements twice daily, regular veterinary care, and repeat bloodwork to monitor his kidney disease and make sure his treatment continues to support his quality of life. We can't change the first 12 years of Benny's story. We can't undo the neglect that left his tiny body so damaged. But we can change what comes next. Benny will never spend another night on the streets. He will never go without veterinary care again. And he will never wonder whether someone loves him. Please donate today to help Wild Whiskers cover Benny's ongoing hospice care, fluids, supplements, bloodwork, and veterinary expenses. Every contribution helps us give this incredibly resilient little dog another comfortable, happy day. Benny may have started life without the care he deserved, but he finally has the family he needed. And for as long as Benny keeps fighting, we'll be right there fighting alongside him.
