Just days ago, 2 year-old Sage arrived at Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge completely paralyzed in her hind end. Immediately, she was rushed into emergency spinal surgery for her only chance to walk again. Lucky for the team, there was hope! Sage’s medical team began seeing feeling return to her legs and by the end of the day, she stood up. After such a terrifying start, this moment feels enormous. While her doctors are cautiously optimistic, Sage still faces a long recovery filled with crate rest, rehabilitation, and hands-on care. She currently needs help expressing her bladder and will require a dedicated foster home where she can safely heal. Recovery from spinal injuries takes patience, time, and significant medical support, but Sage is already showing everyone how hard she is willing to fight. Emergency surgery and ongoing recovery care come at an overwhelming cost, and we urgently need donations to continue giving Sage every possible chance at a full life again. Finn is a 6 year old Poodle in Ayer, MA, who needs $1,000 for Tethered Cord Syndrome.

Finn came into our life when he was a puppy, approximately 6 years ago. He is a miniature Aussiedoodle, though many people think he's a Portuguese Water Dog. Finn is a "proud pet rock dad," and selects special rocks from outside, which he "adopts" and carries around the house, even bringing them to bed. Finn has Tethered Cord syndrome and is scheduled to have surgery at MVRH in Woburn, MA, this June. He has adhesions that "tether," or prevent his spine from moving when he extends his body. TCS is considered to be a progressive neurological disorder that causes significant pain. The aim of surgery is to pause the damage to his nervous system and notably improve Finn's quality of life. Finn has so much love to give, and his greatest joy in life comes from "getting pets" from people on daily walks. He is truly a "people dog." Finn is trained in service tasks and performs several tasks to help mom. Finn's condition, TCS, is essentially the cousin of one of mom's conditions, Chiari malformation. Finn and mom were meant to find each other! Mom has several disabling conditions, and time is critical. The longer surgery is delayed, the less likely Finn is to have a positive health outcome due to the progressive nature of the nerve damage. The costs to date have caused financial hardship.

Leonard is a 7 year old American Shorthair in Maple Grove, MN, who needs $3,000 for Hind Leg Amputation.

Our beloved Leonard, who has been a cherished member of our family since he was a kitten, will be celebrating his 8th birthday on May 20th. We have consistently told that he is the sweetest and most affectionate boy, always eager to offer kisses and cuddles. As someone with a disability, I not only see him as a member of our family but also offering a sense if comfort and support. He was recently diagnosed with a cancerous mass on his left hind leg. Despite our hopes, the sarcoma requires a full amputation. 💔 The cost associated will round about $3000. Unfortunately, our pet insurance does not offer payment plans for his primary surgical expense. The surgical date will be May 11th. Leonard's really special. He's a talker, a kisser, and a cuddler all rolled into one. He's always there to greet you, chit chat, listen, or just be there for you. Honestly, he's the best catboy and buddy a girl could ever wish for. We don't know what we'd do without him and we're definitely better because of him and with him in our lives. Everything caught us off guard, like most family emergencies often do. We understand that things are tough right now, circumstances different for everyone, but we thought sharing our story may connect with some. Our cats are our family & will always support them.

I found Ash one day when I was walking home from work, she kinda just followed me home and i decided to keep her, she was very skinny, so I gave her some food and got her back to normal and just decided to keep her. I am just looking for some financial help in regards to getting her fixed, she has gotten out a few times and I’ve tried to get her in but she’s sneaky, and she comes back pregnant she’s been pregnant three times already, and her second litter she lost them all, and her third liter she lost one. I just want to get her fixed and eventually all her kittens too so when I rehome them. She’s very loving, and she loves kids. I’ve never really seen many cats play with toys like she does, she loves cat nip, and he’s a cuddle bug. She actually shows me her kittens all the time. I recently lost my job and I’m currently looking for a new one but it’s been hard. I just want to get her fixed and her vaccinations so she’s good and she can go outside, eventually when I can I want to get her a catio so she can go outside in an enclosed space.

Juno came into our lives in 2021 through a local rescue we had adopted our fiat dog from. We went to meet another pup, but our daughter instantly connected with “Domino,” as she was called then. She & our dog Maizie bonded right away. We later learned her litter had been found in a dumpster in Tennessee during a rescue trip. We have since added a cat (Betty) & another dog (Arya) to our family. Juno was diagnosed with diabetes in October 2025, since then she’s faced complications that neither our vet nor specialists have been able to fully explain. She eats normally, is playful, & hasn’t shown behavioral changes, but she can’t keep weight on. She should be around 45 lbs & is down to 30. We’re at Dorr Vet Clinic every 2 to 4 weeks for urine cultures & blood work, but we won’t have answers Juno is our free‑spirited middle pup who brings calm and joy to our whole family. She loves car rides, chewing a bone, and curling up under my desk while I work. With the kids, she’s gentle and playful, and with our other dogs she’s the peacemaker. Loyal, loving, and always by our side, Juno, or June-Bug as I call her, is truly the heart of our home. Our pet insurance doesn’t cover everything, and Juno now needs another specialist. Her bills are piling up and affecting our ability to keep up with other expenses. Any help toward her vet care would mean so much for our sweet June‑Bug.

I was blessed with Sasha when she was 6 weeks old..she is now 10yrs old..I got her because I wanted a companion and a protector..I lived out in the country and my husband was out of town alot working..She is the only pet I have and she is a total joy in my life Sasha was diagnosed with pyometra friday..I learned that this infection can be fatal if not treated..she has to be spayed in order to save her life..and the Dr told me not to wait..it needed to be done in the next 10 days..she is on antibiotics now but surgery is required asap..She is being seen by the Greenville Animal Clinic surgery is gonna be invasive because of the infection and it 1100.00 Sasha is a very friendly dog..she loves people and she loves to love..she has an awesome personality..I know what she is thinking just by looking at her facial expressions..to be a pit bull she is afraid if thunder and if I am ever anywhere and it starts storming I rush immediately home..if I can't I pay dog sitter to sit with her until I get there..she loves to be hugged and loves to get sugars I am at 63 yr old widow..I am on Social security and I work part time as a waitress but I have a pinched siataic nerve and I can't work much..BUT I am not gonna ket my baby die because of money..I will continue to do whatever it takes..but she us running out of time..

Charlie has had 2 previous owners. Charlie came to us Oct 14,2021. Born 2017. Daughters friends had him in a small caged for more than 10 hours a day, when not caged he was in a dark basement, and fed cat food. Now he has a backyard to run in and no more cages. He's been with us for 5 years, he has so many years left. Charlie has been diagnosed with Left Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) rupture and bilateral medial patellar luxation. Left stifle is more severely affected with a suspected complete cruciate tear. Michigan City Animal Hospital. Doc. Baily (surgeon) and Doc. Patillo Charlie was so active, running all over the place, we have a fence in yard. We couldn't cage him, so we put up gates in our home. He sits with us when we watch tv. He looks out the window, and he goes outside as many times as he wants. He's social and loves everybody. He's become part of this family. And it would be so nice just to see him getting around, We are retired now. We had dogs over the years, and have taken good medical care of them. There was alway a medical reason for euthanizing, with Charlie there's not. The surgery is just to costly for us now, were managing some of it. We are seeking any assistance. Thank you.

I got my Diesel boy in 2012, when I was a senior in high school. He was just 8 weeks old. His mother passed away giving birth to his litter mate. Diesel has been everywhere with me and always has been my right hand man. He is the sweetest little guy I know. He has helped me get through a lot of emotional and stressful times and now he needs my help more than ever. Diesel has always had bad teeth. I used to take him regularly to the vet to have them checked and cleaned. He had a few teeth removed in the past. He is struggling with very bad infection and “rotten” teeth currently. Dental care is so expensive and I can not afford to have him looked at. Diesel is a laid back kinda guy. He is getting older so he has a hard time hearing and starting to not see as well. He is a very well behaved boy and he’s always down for a good cuddle. He loves kids and just about anyone else too. He’s a great old man. I live in an area where it’s hard to do anything without a car. I haven’t been able to find adequate work for a couple years. I cry just about everyday because I know he needs his teeth looked at and cared for and I have failed to be able to help him. I’m letting him down.
