Julius

Julius is a 7-year-old Long Hair Tabby Cat in Denver, CO, who needs $2,000 for Liver Disease Treatment.

Denver, CO

I got Julius as a kitten 7 years ago and he has been my best friend ever since. He is my spunky little cuddle bug and is loved by not only me, but by all of my other cats (Bianca, Leo, and Luna). He has lived a great life and is never lonely, even though sometimes he probably wishes he had alone time from his little brother and sisters. He is always up to play with the other cats and wrestle around. He loves to sleep right by my feet, especially in the winter time when it’s cold. When lounging around, he is either hanging out in his cat tree or sunbathing in the sunlight that comes through our windows. He loves bird watching and can watch them for hours. He has always been spicy and will let you know right away that he does not want his belly rubbed but at the same time is so loving and gentle (on his terms of course). He has the cutest little meow when he is telling you that he is in need of treats. He lets you know that when it’s time to open the blinds for his daily sunbath by pawing at the blinds until they’re open. He is being seen at VetCare Animal Hospital in Denver, CO. He has been in and out of the vet for about a month as he suddenly starting eating less and losing weight and will need treatment for liver disease, which could require a feeding tube and rigorous supplementation of vitamins until the liver regenerates. I have drained my savings and left over income for diagnostic testing and don’t have much left for the treatment that is needed. Julius means the world to me and has been by my side for almost my entire adult life. He is only 7 years old and has so much more life to live.

Aurora

Aurora is a 10-year-old DAS in Walnut Creek, CA, who needs $2,000 for Lab Work: CT, Rhinoscopy, and Biopsies for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Walnut Creek

Aurora is a rescue cat that spent the first 5 months of his life on the streets. In his foster home, he hung with the dogs & developed endearing dog like mannerisms. When I read the description of a very unique kitten named Sandy, i knew. I told my dear friend Sandy my exciting news & his new name. She then shared as a child she wanted to be named Aurora. I knew we were meant for each other. Aurora is my support cat and truly incredible. I'm disabled, home & bedbound. We are together 24/7, he cares for me in amazing ways. He adores his 2 brothers & likes making mischief with them. Aurora is very affectionate & sleeps under the covers in my arms. He loves cuddling his brothers and even tolerates them sleeping on him. He comes when I call him but typically is always by my side or on me. A friend commented his cat didn't act like Aurora, to which I responded no cat does. He loves my rollator, jumping on it any time I get up to be pushed around the apartment & riding in my wheelchair. He loves water & to "steam" while I shower. He's fascinated by the toilet. He is a ham for guests, showing them his carpet tricks proudly. While he loves cuddles, he's very energetic with toys. He has been seeing Dr. Garcia at SAGE. He likely has chronic rhinosinusitis and either IBD or small cell lymphoma (50/50). He has a heart murmur & cardiomyopathy. We've worked on solutions such as a novel protein diet & medication since I can't afford ct & rhinoscopy. He has lost 27% of his body weight since May 2022, putting his health in a dangerous situation & tests are urgent. My only income is SSDI ($734/month) since my estranged husband abandoned us, despite knowing about Aurora’s condition. Navigating severe chronic illness alone is challenging, yet, we survive because we have each other. He deserves accurate treatment for his quality of life.

Photo of Floki

Floki

Floki is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Lansing, NY, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care for Malnourishment, Dehydration, and Deep Wounds on Legs.

Lansing, NY

We are Jen, Anthony, and Dante, the human family of a wonderful pride of cats - Sake, Meowsers, Floki and Pineapple. Floki is 2.5 years old, and is the sweetest, most gentle, "scaredy cat" of the bunch. We adopted him from the SPCA as a kitten, when he excitedly reached out of his cage to grab us as we walked by. Floki is a sweet soul.. he is always up for snuggles, especially with our cat Meowsers - He is best buddies with cat Meowsers (in pictures), who misses him so much. The would often play together, fighting and wrestling, and end up snuggling afterward. They were inseparable. Meowsers frantically looked for Floki when we brought the carrier home from the animal hospital after he was found. Floki would often roll around excitedly when I got home from work, I called it "roly poly". A silly boy, he is known to sleep comfortably spread-eagle all the time - a photo collage of this exists! He is a rare cat that loves belly rubs too. His meow is loud and more like a desperate yowl - which can often be heard when he was mad his food was 10 minutes late making it to the bowl!:-) After 1.5 months of being missing, Floki was found near the brink of death. He is currently at the Cornell Companion Animal Hospital. He has been stable this whole time, but his ailments include: severely dehydration/malnourishment; refeeding syndrome; loss of muscle mass; deep open wounds on his paws. Miraculously no obvious broken bones or paralysis. Floki is a much-loved member of our family. It's a miracle he survived on this the long hard journey. We will do everything in our power to give him the chance to complete the journey home. We have financed what we can, but fear we may reach the end of what we can do.

Helia

Helia is a 12-year-old Golden Retriever in Abingdon, MD, who needs $950 for Stelfonta.

Abingdon, MD

Helia is a mixed breed Labrador retriever. She has a beautiful happy life with our family. I was a veteran fresh home from Iraq and felt I had no purpose. I thought a dog would bring me a purpose. She has been my comfort, companion, and best friend to travel with through life. She loves walks and swimming. Being the last one of the litter to find a home, I was blessed to find my best friend. Helia has her soulmate Dozer who is a mixed breed pitbull rescue. From the day I rescued dozer they have been inseparable. Playing and running and considerate of each other. Dozer and Helia have grown together. My fiancé Teresa and Helia have a special bond. The most special thing about Helia is how she gives support when she knows when your sad or hurt. She must catch a squirrel so we finally got her a plush squirrel to tear in to. Every single day you walk in the door Helia will have a toy ready to play. She loved to dance in her younger years. If you scratch a good itch spot she has the most funny side smile. You can’t help but laugh. She truly brightens up any room and is so gentle and caring to everyone. Boy does she love to swim. She fetches Helia has developed a mast cell tumor on her right front paw. This can be a life threatening cancer diagnosis. There has been a new FDA approved treatment known as Stelfonta. This would require Stelfonta treatment, prednisone, famotidine, and potential pain medication. As well as post wound care. This is such a fantastic option for Helia. Dr. Kristen Vance Homeward Bound veterinary clinic Our need for this campaign is to raise funds $950.00. With bills piling up and time passing with the tumor growing, We have to reach out for help paying for the treatment that will prolong My best friend’s life and give us more time to make life long memories.

Whiskey

Whiskey is a 4-year-old Rottweiler in Hoschton, GA, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy Treatment of Doxorubicin and Tanovea.

Hoschton, GA

Whiskey was a Christmas gift(2018) to my husband 4 years ago. When we picked her up she was 8weeks old. My husband grew up with 3 Rottweilers and knew he wanted to have one again for our children to love and play with. My husband and I have 3 boys so Whiskey has been like our little girl. We also have 2 older dogs that are 11years old they are brother and sister from the same litter. Whiskey favorite thing is her ball! She wants to carry it everywhere all day. She loves for us to throw ball for her to catch. She could literally play ball all day and be content. Whiskey loves people and she wants to say “Hi” to everyone. She may be 130lbs but she acts like a 10lb puppy. She loves to “cuddle” weather in a recliner or bed. Whiskey sleeps with our oldest son with her own pillow. Whiskey is what I call my “velcro” dog. Where ever I am she is. I lost my mom March of 2021. Whiskey stayed by my side the whole time. She just wanted to make sure I was okay. Now it’s my turn to make sure she is okay. She is so young and hasn’t lived a long life yet. We just want to give her the chance. Plus we need our girl with us! In October Whiskey stopped eating like she normally does so we took her to the vet. There they discovered her lymph nodes around her neck were enlarged. We did biopsies and found out that she has diffuse large B cell lymphoma. The local oncology vet wouldn’t take her due to her size and breed so we are traveling 2 hrs away to another state for treatment. I have been out of work since August. I had to have shoulder surgery which led to froze shoulder and then I had to have a second shoulder surgery in November. We have 3 kids and being out of work we didn’t expect for our young dog to get cancer.

Chessie

Chessie is a 14-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in York, PA, who needs $1,600 for Thyroidectomy.

York, PA

Chessie has been with me since she was found in a parking lot at only about 5 weeks old. She was so small we kept her in a guinea pig pen so the dogs wouldn't hurt her accidentally and to quarantine her from the other cats. After only a week I came home from work to find her unconscious barely breathing thinking the worst I held her close wetting her mouth with water and hours later she woke up! Chessie is very shy does not like strangers or other cats so she has her her own room with windows so she can watch over the neighborhood. She has plenty of toys her own cat tower and nice soft beds to sleep in. I will visit with her a few hours a day and she is very happy. She does like dogs and had a best friend Bo a boisterous lab the unfortunately passed away. Chessie is very very special to me because nothing gets her down. She has her favorite ball she has had since she was only 2 months old. Sometimes she misplaces it but we always seem to find it. She likes to catch it and throw it back to me. She lovves the to have her windows open to feel the fresh air. Chessie has had her share health issues. She was only 4 years old she developed a melanoma on her eye which later needed to be removed. Several years later she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and her right gland removed. She has recently been diagnosed hyperthyroid and will need her left gland removed I am sure she has a few more years if she can get the surgery. I am on a fixed income since I retired from full time employment but still work my part part time job but have a diabetic dog to care for a mortgage, second mortgage, car payment, credit cards and with the cost of living rising daily I fear I cannot save Chessie without help

Leia

Leia is a 12-year-old mixed in Thousand Oaks , CA, who needs $2,000 for Open Wound Care.

thousand oaks, CA

I 'acquired' Leia when a uni friend asked if I could take over her care they were unable to at the time. I'd fallen in love with her upon meeting her and a couple of days later, my newest family member was home. This was 12 years ago. Now, she's moved across the world with me. She lives where I live (currently CA) Leia is under the impression that she is human, too. She is very attached to me and unfortunately, i feel the same about her. She likes to camp, hike, hang out on the beach (but not in the water), at the park, and at friends houses. She is fully expectant that you draw a seat for her at the dinner table & that she should be allowed anywhere I go. Leia is incredibly smart. She's very communicative and will look you directly in the eyes to try and tell you what she wants. I have always been told that its impressive how well behaved she is. She's stoic & calm; she loves other animals (cats included). She also has an uncanny ability to get the biggest dog in the park to be her follower Lou is currently at ACCESS SFV, and has been hospitalized for 2.5 days. Following mass removal surgery + a partial mastectomy on Friday, Leia developed an infection (possibly from the procedure) which caused abscesses (pus pockets) in the wound. Because it was internal, it affected her kidneys & caused severe anemia. After 2.5 years of pandemic, and unsteady employment, my savings have been blown by the sudden complications. I cannot meet the over $18,500 in fees at this time and I know that her care is still continuous.

Luna

Luna is a 4-year-old Pit Mix in North Oxford , MA, who needs $2,000 for Enterotomy.

North Oxford, MA

My parents rescued me at the young age of 1 years old! I live in nice cozy home with loving parents and a big yard so I can do lots of zooms!! I have a brother who my parents rescued two years ago and we have become the best of friends. I love ripping toys apart, doing sprints in the yard and eating yummy treats! I'm very active but I also love napping and cuddling with my dad throughout the day. Luna loves people more than anything in the world. She wants constant belly rubs and has a very gentle soul. If Luna had it her way she would have company over everyday. She is so gentle with young babies and kids. Luna will play all day long! She is well fed and although she would love to eat table scraps all day we try to keep her on a strict organic diet so she lives a long happy life. Luna has a 4 legged brother who she loves to play with and annoy. She likes to steal his toys when he's not looking but he doesn't mind. Luna is always happy and has the sweetest smile you've ever seen. She is a HUGE cuddlier and wants to be as close to you as possible. Luna has a tough bark but in reality she is scarred of anything that talks back to her and couldn't hurt a fly. Early this week Luna experienced several episodes of vomiting and she refused to eat her food. Luna is very food driven so this was extremely unusual for her. Our local Vet feared she may be suffering from a bowl obstruction. We took my sweet Luna to the wonderful Pieper Veterinary Emergency Center. Dr. Kathleen Kimball confirmed the obstruction was there and informed me surgery was required. This medical incident couldn't have come at a worst time for my family. We are expecting our first child very very soon and have spent every last dollar preparing. Words can not express what I would do to see my sweet girl smile again. Any donation would be a huge help!!!
