Bailey came into our lives looking for a home, we already had two Jack Russels,Bella and Peanut. Bailey has brought love and happiness to all of our lives. She is always a happy loving being that has taught all of us to appreciate life and to be happy about even the smallest events. Her daily routine began with giving kisses and greeting everyone. My heart cries out for many more years, Bailey is at Metropolitan Veterinary. She was hit by a car. Her first 24 hours proved to show very good improvements for her vitals and state of consciousness. She is very aware of us and wants to come home. She has a fracture to the left femur, right hip is dislocated from the socket, her spine has a shift at T9-T10. The are going to check for spinal malaysia, for the next 24-48 hrs. Bailey has two little sisters which love to play with her. She always tries to get them to play, trampling over them to make them chase her. She loves to play in the snow, jumping around in it, trying to push us down so she could lick us. Whenever her two little sisters got into bouts, she would always try and separate them. She is a loving, dog who would always try and play with anybody she could The last 8 yr since my cancer treatments, have been an uphill battle, for my health, the people that I love along with my financial position in life, all of this has been improving. A Pathway to Hope received another emergency call for a cat family during one of their events. This is what rescue looks like. It’s not planned or convenient. It’s saying yes on one of the busiest days of the year, knowing that if you say no, they have no other chance… and having faith in YOU — our incredible rescue community. Only about a week old, Oreo’s eyes were barely open, and she already had to fight to survive. Beside her was her orange brother, Nabisco, and their mama. As a newborn kitten, Oreo had a devastating umbilical cord injury. They learned the next day that the owner wanted to surrender the mom and the remaining kitten. Tragically, two kittens had already passed away. And then things got worse. Oreo’s tiny foot detached due to the severity of the injury. She is now on antibiotics and under medical care. She will need a full leg amputation once she is older and strong enough for surgery. At the same time, we are caring for dozens of new cats and kittens, beyond capacity. But emergencies can’t wait. So we said yes. Thankfully, Oreo, Nabisco, and their mama are now safe in the hands of an incredible foster who stepped up immediately to help this fragile little family. The cries coming from an old truck at a local junkyard led to a heartbreaking discovery. A tiny two-month-old kitten had become trapped inside a truck spring, desperately crying for help. He was completely alone. There was no mother in sight, no siblings to comfort him—just a frightened baby suffering from devastating injuries. We named him Nubby Jones. By the time Nubby was rescued and brought to Purrfect Peaches Cat Rescue, it was clear he had endured unimaginable trauma. His left front leg was fractured, and his tiny paw had been so severely crushed that it could not be saved. Despite everything he had been through, Nubby greeted everyone with gentle purrs, curious eyes, and a playful spirit that refused to give up. His resilience reminds us that even the smallest hearts can carry incredible strength. After a thorough examination, our veterinary team determined that the kindest and only path to a pain-free future is to amputate Nubby's injured front leg. While that sounds heartbreaking, kittens are amazingly adaptable. They quickly learn to balance on three legs, running, climbing, playing, and living full, joyful lives without chronic pain. Now Nubby needs one more miracle. For their entire lives, these beagles have known cages. No soft beds. No grass under their paws. No toys. No families. No one whispering that they are safe. They were born inside Ridglan Farms, one of the nation’s most controversial commercial beagle breeding facilities, where thousands of dogs have been raised for laboratory research and testing. For years, Ridglan has been the focus of heartbreaking allegations, investigations, and public outcry over the suffering of the dogs inside. And now, after all this time… Twenty of those beagles are coming to Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation. Twenty souls who have never known what it means to simply be someone’s dog. We have committed to taking them in, holding them for the very first time, and guiding them through the terrifying but beautiful journey from laboratory survivor to beloved family member. But saying yes to them means saying yes to an enormous amount of medical and rehabilitative care. Blueberry's Leg Was Torn Off in a Lawn Mower Accident. Help Save His Life.

One moment changed Blueberry's life forever. This sweet dog suffered unimaginable injuries after a horrific lawn mower accident ripped off part of his leg, leaving him with a catastrophic wound and in unimaginable pain. By the time rescuers learned about him, half of his leg was already gone. No animal should ever have to endure this kind of trauma. When NYC Second Chance Rescue received the urgent plea for help from Alabama, there wasn't a second to waste. The rescue immediately stepped in, arranging emergency veterinary care and rushing Blueberry to the hospital, where a team of veterinarians began evaluating the full extent of his injuries. Blueberry needed an emergency amputation. Without hesitation, the rescue agreed to let surgeons quickly remove what remained of his severely damaged leg. The surgery was successful, and Blueberry is now beginning the difficult road to recovery. While the worst of the trauma is behind him, his journey is far from over. Blueberry is receiving intensive pain management, antibiotics, wound care, and around-the-clock monitoring as he recovers from major surgery. He'll need follow-up veterinary visits, medications, bandage care, and plenty of time to heal before he can begin adjusting to life as a three-legged dog. Thankfully, dogs are incredibly resilient. Once Blueberry has recovered, there's every reason to believe he can enjoy a happy, active life. But right now, his focus is simply on healing. Emergency medical care is expensive, and every hour of treatment adds to Blueberry's growing veterinary bill. At the time, the shelter that sent us the urgent plea was legally prohibited from disclosing the circumstances surrounding his case because of an active investigation. Now, they are permitted to speak and the truth is horrifying. Blueberry was seized through the court system, and his former owner is facing animal cruelty charges. Investigators do not believe that Blueberry lost his leg in a lawnmower accident. They believe he was intentionally attacked by a human and that his leg was deliberately severed. We know how difficult this is to read. We want our community to understand that we initially shared the only information legally available to us. Investigations like this cannot be compromised, because justice and ensuring that animal abusers are held accountable must remain the priority. Because of your support, we were able to provide Blueberry with the critical care he so desperately needed. Surgeons amputated what remained of his badly damaged leg, and he is now receiving the care, safety and compassion he should have had all along. We are outraged. We are devastated. Goose is my constant companion, wingman, and partner for just about everything. He was rescued 5 years ago, and has been exploring Maine with me ever since. If I’m heading out to camp, hiking a trail, or just grabbing a car ride with the windows down, Goose is always the first one in the seat. Our usual routine came to a sudden halt recently when Goose started badly limping. The vets at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Special Care confirmed he has a severe cruciate ligament tear in his hind leg and needs surgery. For a dog who lives to play chase and explore the outdoors, it's a rough spot to be in. When I first rescued Goose from an Arkansas shelter, he struggled with meeting new people. But after years of training, he now loves to explore and make new friends. He visits neighbors (sneaking into their houses whenever possible), plays with his new feline roomie, and will sit and shake for anyone with a treat. The total estimate for his surgery is $7,000. Managing an unexpected medical bill of this size is a major challenge. I’m covering as much of the bill as I can myself, but I’m hoping to raise between $3,000 and $4,000 here to help bridge the gap.

Melbin’s story began when this young stray cat wandered into someone’s home in New York City looking for help. He was brought to the ACC, where staff quickly realized something was seriously wrong with his eye. As his condition worsened, ACC sent an urgent New Hope rescue plea asking for help for a cat with a very deep corneal ulcer requiring specialty care. NY Cat Warriors stepped in to rescue Melbin and immediately pursued specialty ophthalmology treatment. Veterinary Eye Center diagnosed a severe corneal ulcer and descemetocele affecting his right eye — a painful and potentially blinding condition that placed the eye at risk of rupture. In addition to his eye condition, Melbin was also found to have a heart murmur and abnormal cardiac testing; he required cardiology evaluation before surgery could safely proceed. NY Cat Warriors has already funded emergency ophthalmology care, medications, cardiology consultation, echocardiogram, and corneal surgery in order to save Melbin’s eye and relieve his pain. Despite everything he has endured, Melbin has continued to show what a gentle and resilient cat he is. The shy shelter cat who once hid in the back of his kennel has transformed into an affectionate lap cat with a relentless purr. He rolls onto his back for attention and rubs his nose against his foster mom’s face. He has been through an extraordinary amount in a very short time, but he remains loving, trusting, and deeply connected to people. We know that once he has fully healed, Melbin will make an incredible companion for a very lucky family. We are raising funds to help cover the substantial cost of Melbin’s specialty medical care so he can continue healing safely and eventually find the calm, loving home he deserves. 6/10/26 Update Melbin's surgery went smoothly, and he is now recovering under close supervision from his foster family and veterinary team. While we are encouraged by his progress so far, we are remaining cautiously optimistic. Earlier in his treatment, Melbin appeared to be improving before his condition unexpectedly worsened, so we know there are no guarantees. He is heading in the right direction, but he still has important healing ahead of him. One challenge has been convincing this energetic 2 year old that recovery requires rest. Despite his recent surgery, Melbin would much rather spend his days climbing, jumping, and exploring than taking it easy. His foster family has even had to rearrange furniture to make his environment safer while he heals. He is receiving eye drops and medications several times a day and is not shy about expressing his feelings about them. Thankfully, his moments of outrage are short lived, and he quickly returns to seeking attention, pets, and belly rubs. Melbin will return to his surgeon soon for his recheck. Until then, we are watching him closely and hoping for continued improvement. Throughout everything he has endured, Melbin has remained a loving, social cat. The staff at Veterinary Eye Center have become some of his biggest fans, and he continues to charm everyone he meets. Thank you to everyone who has supported Melbin's care thus far. While this is an important step forward, Melbin is not out of the woods yet. He still requires ongoing monitoring and follow up care to ensure his eye continues healing properly and that no complications arise as he recovers from his surgery. His medical team will continue to watch his progress closely in the weeks ahead. Now that the cone is gone, Melbin’s personality is shining brighter than ever. He is thrilled to have a little more freedom and is making up for lost time with plenty of exploring, playing, and seeking attention from his foster family. Through every stage of this difficult journey, he has remained a loving, affectionate cat who wins over everyone he meets. Melbin has already undergone extensive specialty care, including emergency ophthalmology treatment, advanced diagnostics, cardiology evaluation, surgery, medications, and multiple follow-up appointments. Most importantly, his eye is healing well, and he is no longer living in the constant pain and danger that brought him into our rescue. We are still watching him carefully to make sure his exuberance doesn’t cause any damage to his eye, but his veterinary team is very encouraged by his progress and tells us that he is on the right path toward a full recovery. W hile we are deeply grateful that Melbin's medical crisis is behind him, there is still one important part of his story left: the bill. It turns out this handsome boy is not a cheap date. Melbin's specialty medical care ultimately cost nearly $8,000, including emergency ophthalmology care, diagnostics, cardiology evaluation, surgery, medications, and follow-up treatment. Luci Can't Tell Us Why She Struggles to Breathe. A CT Scan Can

When Luci came to Foster Cats Collective of Queens, her feeder was concerned about more than just her friendly personality. Luci's breathing was noticeably abnormal, producing audible snorting and wheezing sounds that could be heard even from a distance. An initial veterinary exam confirmed that Luci was otherwise in good health. She had been TNR'd previously, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and showed no obvious signs of illness beyond her concerning breathing issues. Hoping the problem was caused by an infection, her veterinarian prescribed a course of doxycycline. Unfortunately, the treatment made no difference. After Luci had time to settle into foster care, she returned for additional testing. Veterinarians carefully examined her ears, nose, and throat for polyps or other visible obstructions that could explain her symptoms, but again, no answers were found. Luci continues to experience nasal stridor on inspiration, an abnormal breathing sound that occurs when she inhales, especially when she becomes stressed. Without advanced diagnostics, we are left guessing about the cause. The underlying issue could be something relatively manageable, or it could be a structural abnormality, chronic disease process, or other condition that may worsen over time if left undiagnosed. Until we can identify the cause, we cannot determine the best course of treatment or know what Luci's future holds. Her veterinarian has recommended pursuing advanced diagnostics, including a cranial CT scan. Luci has handled every exam, test, and vet visit with incredible patience and resilience. Despite the uncertainty surrounding her condition, she remains a sweet, trusting cat who deserves the chance to breathe comfortably and live without unanswered medical concerns hanging over her future. Foster Cats Collective of Queens is raising funds to help cover the cost of Luci's specialty consultation and advanced imaging. These diagnostics are our best opportunity to finally uncover the cause of her breathing difficulties and determine what treatment she may need moving forward. Luci is settling in beautifully in what we hope will be her forever home. She has made wonderful progress. Luci is exploring more of the house, peacefully coexisting with the resident cat, Lizzie, and even spending quiet evenings near her new mom, sharing slow blinks during reading time. While a large hairball briefly caused a setback and sent her back under the bed for a few days, she quickly regained her confidence and has continued coming out to explore. Although Luci's signature snuffling and noisy breathing are still present, they haven't dampened her sweet personality. We love her just as she is, but we also want to make sure there's nothing more serious causing her breathing difficulties. Her specialty consultation is scheduled in August. During that appointment, the veterinary team will evaluate her condition and make plans for the cranial CT scan that will hopefully provide the answers everyone has been searching for. Rocco is a 5 year old German Shepherd Dog in Delaplane, VA, who needs $15,792 for Carpal Arthrodesis and Carpal Fracture Repair.

Rocco has been in our family for over four years. He was a gift from a friend that rescued him and was fostering him until finding the right home. He was a puppy then and has lived most of his life with us. He loves going for walks, playing fetch, and spending time with the family. Rocco broke his leg while protecting the family and property. He needs surgery at Marshall Veterinary Clinic. A stray pit bull came into our backyard and Rocco jumped off of a balcony to investigate. Fortunately, especially because we have young children, the pit bull was friendly. However, Rocco broke his leg and tore tendons that require surgery. Rocco is special because of his love for the family. He is a tremendous guard dog but is kind to our kids. He just wants to be with us all the time. He doesn't like to swim but loves to put his legs in the water. He gets excited to go for walks or runs, and he loves to play fetch. He is also very smart besides his instinctual jump off a balcony to protect us from a potential threat. We have already spent thousands of dollars on Rocco due to this injury and can't afford to spend thousands more for this necessary surgery. Surgery is required or he will be permanently lame. He can still have a good quality of life if this surgery occurs.
