Mr. Leo
Help Mr. Leo recover from a life-threatening urinary infection.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
This sweet senior cat was once a stray who had found his way to a loving local family, but last week he was rushed to Rescue Kitties of Hawaii in heartbreaking condition. Mr. Leo hadn't eaten in nearly a week, was severely dehydrated, crying in pain, and had a bladder so enlarged that it was nearly the size of a baseball. He was suffering from a severe urinary infection and was on the verge of a life-threatening blockage. If left untreated, he likely would not have survived. RKH immediately started pain medication, antibiotics, anti-nausea medication, fluids, and around-the-clock care. His bladder has to be expressed multiple times a day to keep urine flowing and prevent a fatal blockage. RKH is desperately asking for your help to cover Mr. Leo's medical care, medications, and ongoing treatment as they are dealing with so many medical emergencies. Every donation helps them continue saving animals like him and giving them the second chance they deserve. Mr. Leo has so much life left to live, and thanks to your support, he's finally getting that chance.

George & Haru
Please help George & Haru who need neurological treatment.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
At just 4½ weeks old, these two little boys, George and Haru, came to Rescue Kitties of Hawaii unable to properly use their hind legs and suffering from horrific neurological seizures. For an entire week, the seizures were relentless, and they weren't sure if they would survive. Against all odds, he's still here. After treating them with multiple medications, the seizures have finally stopped—for now. They haven't had a seizure in more than a week but still rely on gabapentin two to three times a day to keep them from returning. They still don't know what caused his condition. Right now, they're doing everything they can to keep them stable on Molokaʻi. They simply don't have the funding to send either one to a specialist on Oʻahu for the advanced care and testing they desperately need. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is desperately asking for your help to cover the cost of medications and veterinary care in hopes of being able to transport them to Oʻahu for further treatment. Every donation, share, and prayer helps George and Haru keep fighting. They have already overcome so much in this short life. Please help Rescue Kitties of Hawaii give them the chance they need to keep going.

3 neonatal kittens
These tiny babies are fighting for their lives, and they need your help.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
A heartbreaking call recently came in about four newborn kittens whose mother had been found deceased beneath a tree. The elderly woman who discovered them didn't know what to do, but after a friend contacted Rescue Kitties of Hawaii, they immediately agreed to take all four babies. By the time they reached the rescue, the kittens had been without their mother and without milk for nearly 48 hours. Their tiny bodies were shutting down from starvation and dehydration. Tragically, one of the babies—a little white kitten—passed away before they could save him. The three remaining kittens are in critical condition. They are just a little more than skin and bones, weighing only about 110 grams each. Their eyes are just beginning to open, meaning they are only about a week old and should still be safely nursing with their mother. Right now, they are receiving around-the-clock care: warmed fluids, sugar support, and bottle feedings every hour in a desperate effort to slowly rehydrate and nourish them. They are still too weak to latch, but they are swallowing, and they're caretakers are holding onto every small victory. The kitten's condition remains extremely guarded, but they are fighting with everything they have to save them. On Molokai, there are very few resources available, and for these babies, these caretakers are their only chance. They're asking for your help to cover the cost of emergency care, formula, medical supplies, and the constant support these fragile kittens need to survive. Every donation, every share, and every prayer means the world. Please help Rescue Kitties of Hawaii give these precious babies the chance to grow up and experience the life their mother can no longer provide.

Danny Boy
Danny Boy Has Defied the Odds Once, Now He Needs Your Help Again
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Two years ago, Danny Boy should have died. After being hit by a car on Oʻahu’s North Shore, he was left injured in the sun for hours until an RKH volunteer found him clinging to life with a fractured jaw and a massive head wound. Against all odds, he survived. Now, at 7 years old, this incredible boy is fighting for his life once again. Danny Boy has been diagnosed with FIP and severe, painful stomatitis. He recently stopped eating and drinking, causing his sodium levels to spike dangerously. He requires intensive ICU care at VCA Family Animal Hospital and slow rehydration on IV fluids to survive. The good news? The treatment is working. And after a very recent recheck, his sodium levels are dropping, he is starting to eat on his own, his feeding tube is delivering vital nutrition, and he is finally purring again. Danny Boy hasn't given up, and neither can we. Danny Boy's care requires immediate financial support. We still need to raise over $3,000 to cover his mounting ICU and FIP treatment bills. Danny Boy spent years helping other rescues survive; now he needs us. Please consider making a donation today to give this miracle cat the chance he so deeply deserves. Every dollar goes directly to his lifesaving veterinary care.

Hermoine
Hermione came to RKH after surviving far too long on her own.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Hermoine had been wandering a neighborhood for months, showing up hungry, disappearing for stretches, and slowly declining. By the time Rescue Kitties of Hawaii stepped in to rescue her, she was in rough shape—very underweight, dirty, and struggling to eat. Despite everything she had endured, all she wanted was love. Once they got her safe and seen by a veterinarian, they learned just how much she had been suffering. Hermione is only 3 years old, but her body tells a much harder story. She is FIV+, and she has severe gingival stomatitis—a painful, chronic condition causing extreme inflammation and infection in her mouth. She is missing multiple teeth, likely has roots remaining, and has lesions along her gums. Eating is painful, and at times she avoids food and even water because of it. On top of that, she is being treated for lungworms and parasites, adding another layer to her recovery. The only way to truly relieve her pain is a full dental procedure to remove her remaining diseased teeth. This will allow her to eat comfortably, regain weight, and finally start to heal. Hermione is incredibly gentle and affectionate. She just wants a safe, quiet home and someone to love her. Because she is FIV+, she will need a peaceful environment with compatible cats or to be the only pet. Right now, their focus is getting her out of pain, and they can't do it without you. Dental surgery is costly, but it will completely change the course of her life. With proper care, FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives—and Hermione deserves that chance. RKH rescued her so she wouldn’t have to suffer alone anymore. Now we’re asking for help to give her the life she’s been waiting for. She has a microchip, and they found her original owner. Hermoine got lost over 2 years ago, and her owner moved back to the mainland. RKH even offered to fly her back to her, but she said she no longer wants to own a cat. Please help us let Hermione know that she is still loved and cared for and deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life. Thank you.

80 Cats
Rescue Kitties of Hawaii just took in over 80 cats and is in desperate need of your help!
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is in the middle of something overwhelming. In just a short period of time, they have taken in over 80 cats —and the calls have not stopped. Kittens are pouring in daily. There is no pause, no break, no extra hands waiting in the wings. It’s just this small, dedicated team saying “yes” again and again because there is no one else. Recently, two newborns were born into the chaos. Fragile and tiny, they are now warm, fed, and safely tucked into an incubator alongside another baby named Garfunkel. Both have latched, are panleuk negative so far, and appear healthy—but they are being carefully monitored and snap tested to be sure. Every new intake carries risk. Every kitten needs quarantine space. And there is no more quarantine space. Supplies are stretched thin. Incubators are full. Formula, medical testing, vaccines, litter, cleaning supplies—it all adds up quickly when you are caring for more than 80 cats at once, with more arriving every single day. The urgency is real. Without support, there is simply no room to take in the next emergency call. We are asking for donations to help Rescue Kitties of Hawaii cover medical testing, vaccinations, neonatal care, quarantine supplies, and the daily cost of keeping this many lives safe. Every dollar helps create space for one more kitten who has nowhere else to go and hopefully, get them healthy enough to be adopted. Right now, they are doing everything humanly possible, and they simply cannot do it without you. Please help them keep saying yes. 6/10/26 Update RKH flew 20 kittens and 4 mom cats from Kona Low Storms out to their amazing rescue partners at SpokAnimal last week for adoption! The rest are still growing (must be 8 weeks) to fly. They have the other 60 in foster on Molokai and almost 50 in their home. They are so cute and some have ringworm. One with a badly ruptured eye had it enucleated when the Big Island Pet Care Clinic came to Molokai for a vet clinic. The other 2 bad-eye kittens are healing well but likely still need enucleations. All the rest went through post-flood extra parasite, flea, and worm treatment. They picked up bacteria, and many had horrific coccidia and Giardia and bacterial gut infections from contaminated water. Gratefully, they have all the proper meds, and they were able to save every single kitten, and they are thriving, The only kittens they could not save were 3 neonates. One was rejected by the mom immediately after birth. They fought to save him, but he had something very wrong and could not pee or poop. He survived a week. 2 more neonates (hours old) were found in flood zones and brought to us too far gone. They were severely emaciated, dehydrated, hypothermic, and hypoglycemic, and even with their best experience and efforts, sadly they never recovered. They are exhausted to say the least, but they got through the hardest part; all the 24/7 bottle feeding of almost every kitten. They only took in kittens 0-4 weeks that could not survive in the wild. Every single one had to be bottle fed. They are extremely grateful to their community for bringing the babies to them and helping any way they could, along with the support from all of you. This has been their greatest challenge yet since they were established on Molokai almost 2 years ago. Their goal is to fly all the storm kittens out for adoption by the end of July as finances allow. The cost PER KITTEN to get them to Oahu, flight vetted, and flown to the mainland is a minimum of $500 each! 6/30/26 Update Thanks to all of you, Rescue Kitties of Hawaii has been able to get more kittens spayed, neutered, eye enucleations, and various medical help, and they will be adopted out by their awesome mainland rescue partners!

Emergency funds
Rescue Kitties of Hawaii desperately in need of help due to flooding.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
The recent flooding in Hawaii has devastated entire communities, and the impact has been harsh on Rescue Kitties of Hawaii. For a few weeks, there were no flights, no way off the island, no access to medical care, and no way to save other cats/kittens in need. Roads were washed out, shelters were surrounded by rising water, and rescuers were cut off from supplies. It felt like the world stopped… but the needs didn’t. During that time, the RKH team did everything possible to keep every cat safe—moving them to higher ground, sharing precious resources, and staying by their sides through the uncertainty. The floods didn’t just wash away roads and homes. They wiped out budgets, destroyed supplies and shelters, and left many animals in urgent need of medical attention and ongoing support. These cats need urgent medical attention, and they need the chance to recover from the trauma of neglect and natural disaster. But this rescue can’t do it alone, especially with having to repair their own shelter and homes, along with other resources. We are asking for donations to help provide medical care, supplies, and a safe future for the cats affected by this disaster. Every contribution—big or small—goes directly toward helping the cats and caretakers of Rescue Kitties of Hawaii heal and thrive despite the challenges they’ve endured. Please give what you can. Your support is tremendously appreciated. Thank you.

Pazuzu
Please help Pazuzu who was brought in right before recent flooding in Hawaii.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
The devastating storms hitting Hawaiʻi right now are relentless. Between flooding, thunder, lightning, mud slides, sinkholes, and just total destruction, the roads are completely underwater and impassable. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii's phones have been ringing nonstop with calls for help, but they physically cannot get to so many of them yet, and there are no flights in or out of Molokai, so even critical cases are trapped with us until the storm passes. Luckily, this sweet, little orange kitten was brought to them just before the roads flooded. His name is Pazuzu. He’s about five to six months old and only 3½ pounds… severely underweight. His spine is protruding, and he clearly has some neurological issues. He cannot fully empty his bladder on his own and only passes stool from overflow. They have been manually expressing him and providing round-the-clock critical care. Right now, there is no access to a veterinarian. No transport. No options, but they are doing everything they can. He’s been started on FIP medication, antibiotics in case this is toxoplasmosis, and he is being kept warm, hydrated, and stable… they are trying to buy him time and praying they don’t lose power again. This is the reality on Molokai in a storm like this. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is not giving up. So many people and animals are displaced from these storms. It’s beyond heartbreaking. Can you please help Pazuzu and Rescue Kitties of Hawaii in this urgent time? 5/30/26 Update Thanks to all of you, Pazuzu is doing really well and keeps growing. He has limited mobility in his hind legs and incontinence issues from the tail pull injury. His vet wants to keep monitoring him to reassess when he grows more to see if his body can heal any further on its own.

Lady
Help Little Lady Live A Long Healthy Life
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Lady was found on the side of the road barely able to walk with an abscess on her chin. She looked like she hadn’t eaten in weeks, just skin and bones. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii had to step in so she could be brought to safety. She was fed and taken to the vet immediately. She only weighed three pounds as a 1 year old kitty, severely underweight. Her abscess under her chin that had to be drained and required injectable antibiotics. After extensive blood work the vets found that she also tested positive for FIV which has caused her immune system not to be able to heal the infection. And on top of all of that she has also lost many teeth due to bacteria destroying her teeth and gums. The biggest concern for Lady was her back leg. She could barely walk and after an x-ray was obtained it was found that her leg had been broken in two spots and required immediate amputation. It was likely that she had been in pain for a significant amount of time as the bones were already trying to heal. Lady will have a long road ahead with recovery requiring restricting all mobility until she is healed which can take about 2 months. She will require around the clock care to ensure she is not in pain and her wounds are cleaned and not infected. While her prognosis is hopeful, the emergent surgery and weeks of advanced care following after have created significant medical costs. The upcoming days will be the most crucial to ensure Lady’s immune system can withstand. Any donation, no matter the size, helps give this brave girl the chance to heal and finally know comfort and love. 4/15/26 Update Thankfully, Lady has fully healed from her leg amputation. She got a very bizarre allergic reaction or skin rash. The vet said it's like immune-related and has recommended taking her to a board-certified dermatologist. So far, she has received an antibiotic and two steroid injections, which seem to be helping. 5/22/26 Update Thank you so much to everyone who supported Lady on her healing journey! She is doing much better and is anticipated to recover even more once her dermatologist gets her on the right treatment plan.

Mr Morton
Mr Morton Needs Our Help NOW
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Our precious boy, Mr. Morton, needs urgent help. This special guy has an unstoppable spirit and is full of joy and strength, despite being partially paralyzed and incontinent. He has been part of the Rescue Kitties of Hawaii family for the past five years, ever since his rescue. During a routine gland expression, we discovered a swollen lump in his groin. Shortly after, Morton developed a high fever and began whimpering in pain, which is extremely out of character for our happy-go-lucky guy. We knew immediately this couldn’t wait. He was put on the first flight to Oahu, where veterinarians performed emergency surgery and removed the mass just in time. Mr. Morton’s prognosis is good, but he still requires round-the-clock ICU care, fluids, and antibiotics to prevent further infection. Dr. Lam at VCA surgically removed a very large abscess and thoroughly cleaned the area. This process, known as debridement, involves removing damaged or infected tissue so healthy tissue can heal. Right now, the priority is preventing infection and sepsis, which is why Morton must remain under close medical supervision. We know how resilient he is, and with your help, he can return home to his siblings and friends at the rescue. If you’re able, please consider donating to give our sweet boy the lifesaving care he needs. 🩵🐾 2/26/26 Update Mr. Morton's wound is looking very healthy! The culture confirmed he is on the correct antibiotics for the bacterial strains that caused the huge abscess and infection. The surgeon started closing his wound today. He has diarrhea from the strong antibiotics but VCA Drs and techs are taking such phenomenal care of him. He must remain hospitalized until the wound is fully closed, drain is removed, and he can be brought home to fully heal on Molokai. Praying it’s soon! 4/30/26 Update Thanks to all of you, Mr. Morton is completely healed and his staples have been removed! Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is incredibly grateful to everyone who helped him along the way and showed him all the love and support.

Miss Spicy
Miss Spicy is in critical condition and needs your help.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Miss Spicy was found as a senior stray on the island of Moloka’i. She was in critical condition- skin and bones, dehydrated, and unable to eat or drink due to severe mouth pain. Someone had left her on a doorstep in hopes she’d be found, and thankfully, she was brought to Rescue Kitties of Hawai’i just in time. She was suffering from painful mouth ulcers, chronic infection, and layers of grime from surviving alone without shelter or care. With gentle hands (and thick gloves—she lives up to her name!), the team at Rescue Kitties of Hawai’i began the long journey of nursing her back to health. Miss Spicy received the help from a whole village of rescuers rallying behind her and has visited three different islands. Moloka'i where her journey began and where RKH is, Kona for specialized vet care, and Oahu to receive life saving dental surgery and recover. Rescue Kitties of Hawai'i is so thankful for each person that has played a role getting her to where she is today. However, her journey isn't over yet. She will now need to have a root removed and ongoing care for stomatitis. We care for this sweet girl so much and only want her to have the best care. Please consider donating today to help Miss Spicy's ongoing care and treatment, and other stray kitties like her, heal. Together, we can show them what love really feels like. 4/21/26 Update Thank you to everyone who supported Miss Spicy on her healing journey! She has fully healed and is doing fantastic and will hopefully find her forever home soon. Thank you for your continued support.

Mr. Fang
Mr. Fang is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in kaunakakai, HI, who needs $1,300 for dental.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Meet Mr. Fang, a sweet soul who has already been through so much. Earlier this year, he underwent a partial dental—but his large fangs had to be left behind. Since then, those remaining teeth have caused him constant pain, leading to inflammation, infection, and painful rot. For months, the question wasn’t if Mr. Fang needed help—but whether his body was strong enough to handle it. After careful monitoring and recent bloodwork, we finally received the news we’ve been hoping for: his kidney values have improved, and his veterinarian has cleared him as stable enough for the dental surgery he desperately needs. This procedure will change everything for Mr. Fang. It means relief from chronic pain, healing from infection, and the chance to eat, groom, and rest comfortably again. But dental surgeries come with significant costs, and we can’t do this without help. 💛 How You Can Help Your donation will go directly toward Mr. Fang’s dental surgery, medications, and recovery care. Every dollar helps take away his pain. Every dollar brings him closer to comfort. Every dollar gives Mr. Fang the healthy, peaceful life he deserves. Thank you for helping us give Mr. Fang his smile back—pain free. 🐾 6/4/26 Update Thank you to everyone who has supported Mr. Fang on his healing journey. Thanks to you, he was able to get his dental procedure and is on his way to living a happy and healthy adult life.

Inkjet
Inkjet Needs Your Help
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Inkjet has defied every odd stacked against him, surpassing all expectations after his heart disease diagnosis. Because of his condition, he’s supposed to receive regular testing, but keeping up with that level of care is nearly impossible. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is a small rescue, and they simply cannot afford the extensive medical support he requires. Now, a year after his initial diagnosis, they’re overjoyed to share that Inkjet is doing better than anyone ever imagined. He’s on two different oral heart medications that have helped him manage his disease, but the vets at VCA need to see him again to adjust his meds and ensure he continues receiving the treatments that keep him stable. On top of his heart condition, Inkjet needs a special Z/D diet each month for his Eosinophilic Granuloma. This food is costly, and his Atopica medication, something he will need for the rest of his life, is also very expensive. Providing Inkjet with the medical care he needs would be the greatest blessing, truly the best Christmas gift for him and for everyone who loves him so deeply. He’s an odd lil duck, but the SWEETEST, most loving boy… every second counts, and we don’t take a single moment with him for granted. He is thriving, living a spoiled, happy, comfortable life—and I like to think he refuses to leave us. 4/22/26 Update Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is still in desperate need of your help to care for Inkjet. They are heartbroken that they have not been able to get his echocardiogram because they lack the funds. Just the bills from his recent vet visit, his special prescription diet food that they buy monthly, plus his daily heart meds are stacking up quickly. Please help support RKH and Inkjet. No amount is too small and is greatly appreciated. 6/5/26 Update Thanks to you, Inkjet is doing really well and has an appointment to get an echocardiogram at the end of August. We are so thankful for your love and support as he continues on his healing journey.

Smokey
Sweet senior kitty Smokey urgently needs our help
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Recently rescued from the small island of Moloka‘i, Smokey was rushed to the hospital after suffering a severe neurological seizure and being diagnosed with pneumonia. Her condition was critical, and she needed immediate, intensive care to survive. Veterinarians quickly began a full diagnostic workup to find the cause of her pneumonia and determine whether she could fully recover. She underwent ultrasounds, an echocardiogram, and extensive bloodwork. Thankfully, all of these tests came back normal—confirming that she wasn’t in heart failure. Instead, doctors discovered age-related thickening of her heart wall, which, while considered normal in older cats, is still concerning. Smokey’s road has been incredibly difficult. She spent more than a week in critical care and remains on a feeding tube to prevent refeeding syndrome after going without proper nutrition for several weeks. The good news is that she’s beginning to show interest in food again and is responding well to fluids and antibiotics. Small victories mean everything—but we're not out of the woods yet. Based on her symptoms, veterinarians suspect she may have neurological FIP, and she has now begun treatment for that as well. Her prognosis is hopeful, but the cost of keeping her alive and giving her a chance at a healthy future has quickly grown overwhelming. Smokey has already had weeks of costly, round-the-clock care, and her medical bills continue to climb. She is fighting with everything she has, and her rescuers at RKH are doing the same—with extremely limited resources. Now that she has made it through the most dangerous part of her journey, we’re asking for your support. Any donation, no matter the size, will help give Smokey the chance to thrive for years to come. Thank you for helping this brave senior girl continue her fight. 1/25/26 Update Her VCA doctors feel she most likely has a cancerous brain tumor, as they basically ruled all other issues out, and that her time with us is limited. But right now she is still here, still very much herself, and still wrapped in so much love. Because of all you, she has comfort, peace, and dignity. She has wonderful doctors who make sure she is not in pain. She is simply living her days surrounded by love, exactly as every soul deserves.

Little Einstein
Little Einstein is in Dire Need of Funding for FIP Treatment.
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Sweet Little Einstein was rescued on Molokaʻi a few months ago, dangerously ill with a fever of 106.8°F. With no vet on island, we fought to stabilize him around the clock and miraculously, he pulled through. He recently flew to our Oʻahu foster team for continued care, but suddenly spiked another high fever. Rushed to WWPH Emergency Vet Hospital, his bloodwork confirmed wet and ocular FIP. If you’ve never seen ocular FIP, the change in the eyes is heartbreaking. His pupils shifted drastically overnight. Einstein is now weak, lethargic, not eating, and has fluid buildup in his abdomen. His foster and vet team are doing everything possible to stabilize him and keep him comfortable, but he urgently needs the full 84-day FIP treatment and continued critical care. We already have two other FIP kittens in treatment, and the combined cost of meds and vet bills now exceeds $2,500. We cannot do this alone. Every donation brings him one step closer to recovery and a chance at the happy, healthy life he deserves. We are so grateful for your love and support of the most vulnerable kitties in Hawaii. Each donation helps us get kitties like Little Eistein healthy and into a loving home. We cannot continue to succeed at our mission without you.

Kris
Please help Kris who is need of the full course FIP treatment
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Meet one of RKH's newest kittens named Kris. Her and her siblings were named after the show Three's Company. After a full veterinary assessment and bloodwork, sweet little Kris was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a once fatal disease that can now be treated with life-saving medication. Thanks to the quick action of Rescue Kitties of Hawaii and their dedicated vet team, Kris immediately began the costly FIP treatment protocol, along with supportive antibiotics and care. The great news? She’s already gaining weight and showing remarkable improvement! Her sister Janet, was also diagnosed with FIP (a rare situation to see in two kittens from the same litter). But like Kris, Janet is responding wonderfully to treatment. These two sweet girls have come so far. When RKH first rescued them, they were terrified and untouchable, but with the loving care of their amazing foster mom, they’ve blossomed into affectionate, playful kittens. Because foster mom Jackie was so observant and quick to act, both girls got the medical help they needed before it was too late. However, the medical bills are stacking up quickly. Now, they need your help to complete their full 84-day course of FIP treatment, which is the only way to ensure they will both survive and thrive. The medications are expensive, but they are working. With your support, Kris can go on to live a long, healthy, love-filled life with her siblings. Thank you! 6/5/26 Update Thanks to your generosity, Kris is fully healed from FIP treatment and has grown into such a happy, healthy, loving, snuggly cat. He was adored and adopted by a loving family with other fur siblings, and he is living the dream! When I compare his before and after pics it brings happy tears to my eyes. From the wild on Moloka’i as a small, feral, super sick kitten with no chance of survival to an amazing, beautiful, safe indoor life with a wonderful furrrever family and unconditional love. Our rescue journey with Kris lasted over a year in foster care to ensure he was in good health. We miss him and love him always, but our job with him was complete. We set him up for success, and our hearts are full knowing he is so loved and HEALTHY!

Limpy
Support Limpy's Recovery Through Leg Amputation
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
For more than two years, Limpy survived on the streets with a deformed paw—likely something he was born with. The caretakers at Rescue Kitties of Hawaii first met him at their feeding station, but he was smart and trap-savvy. For over a year, he outwitted every trap they set, always staying just out of reach. Eventually, patience and trust won him over. They fed him closer and closer to the garage until one day, they were able to safely bring him inside. That’s when they noticed the blood smears on the floor and realized his paw injury was worse than they thought. The vet suspects Limpy will need a full leg amputation to end his pain. This sweet boy has fought for survival long enough—now he deserves a chance to live without suffering. Your donation will help cover his upcoming veterinary appointment, surgery, and recovery care. Please, if you can, give today and help make Limpy’s future pain-free. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii cannot do this without generous donors like you. Every dollar brings him closer to comfort and safety. Thank you. Update 8/15/25 Limpy had a successful leg amputation. He is now in recovery with a wonderful foster from Rescue Kitties of Hawaii, and she will foster him to full health! Update 10/8/25 We are so happy to share that Mr. Limpy is healed and doing great! This wouldn't have been possible without people like you. Please keep supporting his healing journey. Thank you!

From Streets to Safety- Help Give Mao Hope
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Mao was just a young island cat doing her best to survive when everything changed. She was found on Moloka‘i with a devastating injury under her front leg, her skin torn wide open, the wound already turning necrotic. With no emergency vet on the island and her condition rapidly declining, her rescuers at Rescue Kitties of Hawaii knew they had to act fast if they were going to save her life. Her caretakers quickly jumped into action, working around the clock to keep Mao stable. They gently cleaned her wound, hydrated her, and did everything they could for nearly 48 hours—just long enough to get her on a flight to O‘ahu. There, she was rushed straight into surgery, where her front leg was amputated and the infected tissue was carefully removed. Today, Mao is resting in a warm foster home, surrounded by love and healing energy. She’s still being syringe-fed and has a long way to go, but her strength is returning bit by bit. Wharfy
One Tough Kitten: Little Wharfy’s Big Fight
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Wharfy was found in heartbreaking condition, all tangled in fishing net at the Moloka'i wharf. No one is sure how long this kitten had been struggling to free himself. The fishing lines had torn through his tiny limbs, taking off part of his front leg and damaging his back paw. But this brave little one clung to life, meowing for help until someone finally heard. That cry led him straight to Rescue Kitties of Hawaii, who refused to let his story end there. Rescue Kitties of Hawaii rushed into action, starting pain meds and antibiotics while coordinating an urgent flight to O‘ahu. There, sweet Wharfy underwent emergency surgery to remove what remained of his front leg. The damage had been too severe, but the procedure saved his life. Moloka'i Dog Family
From Being Trapped Under a Deck to Being Safe and Loved: Help the Moloka‘i Puppies Thrive
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
It started with a cry- their tiny voices calling out from beneath an old pool deck on Moloka‘i. A mama dog had been left behind months ago when her family moved off-island, and she’d given birth under the deck, accessibly by momma, but too far to be reached by people. A few days after giving birth, and mama disappeared. Her seven puppies were left behind, hungry and alone until Rescue Kitties of Hawai‘i got the call. With no time to waste, the team rushed in, joined by a group of incredible seniors who didn’t think twice. Aunties and uncles in their seventies and eighties crawled under the deck, unscrewed boards, and gently pulled the pups from the dark. One by one, seven four-week-old Blue Heeler puppies were bottle-fed, bundled in blankets, and given their first real taste of comfort and care. Today, the pups are safe in RKH foster homes, slowly gaining strength with round-the-clock feeding, warmth, and meds. Papa dog, now known as Jamba, was safely trapped with the help of Maui Humane Society and has already found a loving home thanks to a generous foster family who stepped up without hesitation. Everyone is still hoping mama dog will be found soon. Donations will go toward their care to ensure they have a bright future ahead, one they deserve. Their story began in heartbreak, but thanks to an unexpected team of heroes and a whole lot of love, these pups now have a chance to grow up safe, strong, and surrounded by care. Update 07/25 The seven little bundles of love are doing amazing! They are now fully weaned and have received their first vaccinations. They are now able to safely go outside and absolutely love this play time! We are now waiting to raise funds and prepare them to get all ready to fly to Oahu for them to get fixed. Thank you for your ongoing support! Update 9/9/25 4 puppies were flown out to a wonderful dog rescue partner in New Hampshire, and they fixed them all there. This rescue adopted 2 out on Molokai. So they only have 1 left that needs full vet care. This would not have been possible without your amazing support and generosity!

Mahalo
Tiny Kitten with Big Spirit: Help Mahalo Heal
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Mahalo was found by a kind family wandering down Mahalo Street on Molokai, just 3/4 of a pound and in rough shape. She was covered in fleas, severely dehydrated, and struggling with flea anemia. Her temperature was dangerously low, her gums pale, and her tiny body was weak, but even through it all, she showed a little spark of life. Once in care, she was gently warmed and given fluids to help stabilize her. Though too tired to eat at first, she slowly began to swallow small amounts of Nutrical and baby food. Her eye, which had ruptured before she was found, eventually detached on its own. Pain medication helped keep her comfortable, and she’s now resting on a heating pad, with her breathing monitored closely. Mahalo is being given round-the-clock support and everything she needs to stay comfortable and keep fighting. There’s no vet on island, and she is too small to fly just yet, so her care team is doing everything they can to support her from home with careful hydration, nutrition, and pain management. It’s still early, but her tiny steps forward give hope that she’s not ready to give up. She may be small, but she’s already shown how strong she is. With time, care, and love, Mahalo has a real chance at healing. Donations will help cover her supplies, follow-up care, and eventual flight to Oʻahu for further treatment once she’s strong enough. Thank you. Update 07/25 Little Mahalo is doing great in her foster home filled with so much love! She is slowly but surely gaining weight and strength as she prepares to fly to Oahu for her eye removal. Thank you for your continued support!

Kaia
Emergency Leg Amputation Needed! Help Tiny Kaia Heal
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
On the way home from the airport, a volunteer with Rescue Kitties of Hawaii spotted a tiny kitten on the side of the road. She was just six weeks old, scared, and all alone. They scooped her up and named her Kaia, a name as sweet as she is. She was covered in fleas, clearly in pain, and likely suffering from a broken front leg. Kaia is now safe in rescue, finally getting the love and care she needs. She’s being treated for fleas, kept warm and comfortable, and her pain is being managed. She’s sweet, snuggly, and full of purrs! Despite everything, she wants nothing more than to feel safe and loved. At just under two pounds, Kaia is still too small to fly to Oʻahu for specialized orthopedic care. Once she’s big enough, she’ll make the trip for advanced treatment. In the meantime, Rescue Kitties of Hawaii is giving her everything she needs to grow and prepare for the next step in her healing journey. Donations will help cover Kaia’s medical care and recovery. Every bit of support brings her closer to a healthy, pain-free future. Please give if you can. This tiny girl has a long road ahead, but with help, she will have the support needed to thrive! Update 06/27 Kaia’s x-rays just came back, and unfortunately, the news isn’t what her caretakers had hoped for. Her leg is badly broken and so severely that it can’t be repaired. After consulting with the vet team, it’s been decided that the only way forward is an emergency amputation. While it’s heartbreaking, the team is staying hopeful. Kaia is still just a baby, and her young age is on her side. Cats are incredibly resilient, and many adapt beautifully to life on three legs. They are confident that with time, love, and proper care, she’ll bounce back and thrive. Thank you to everyone who has been rooting for her so far. Your support means everything as she prepares her for surgery and continues her healing journey. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way! Update 07/01 At Rescue Kitties of Hawaii every cat/kitten is Ohana. We embrace the no kitty left behind concept. Our little tripedal princess is recovering well after her amputation surgery-she is the littlest snuggle bug with the biggest purrs. Today’s Kaia couture consists of a purple “socksie”with stitch embroidered. Update 07/11 If you’re wondering what Kaia is wearing for her play date today-it’s Dinosaurs! Stay tuned for what’s next on #kaiakittycouture. Also of note-Her post surgery recovery is going well! Still have a few hundred left to raise to pay for her surgery but this kitty will be ready for adoption before you know it!

Poseidon
Poseidon Returned Against All Odds—Now Let’s Help Him Heal
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Poseidon was found curled in the grass near a bus stop on the Kāneʻohe Marine base, starving, weak, and too scared to come close. Someone began bringing food, earning his trust over days. When he was finally brought to the vet, the team scanned his microchip and discovered he was one of Rescue Kitties of Hawai‘i’s own, so they immediately stepped in to help Poseidon once again. He was severely dehydrated and dangerously thin, requiring slow refeeding to avoid complications. Covered in fleas and parasites, Poseidon also had a painful mouth infection and severe dental disease. The vet confirmed he needed full-mouth extractions. No one knows how he traveled so far, but his return felt like fate. He had made it back to the rescue that once saved him, and they are committed to helping him again. Now safe in foster care, Poseidon is eating well, gaining weight, and showing his gentle personality. He purrs through treatments and seeks out affection, but his mouth still causes him pain. His dental surgery is scheduled for July 1. After surviving the streets and somehow finding his way back, he deserves comfort, safety, and a second chance that truly lasts. Rescue Kitties of Hawai‘i is covering Poseidon’s care, but support is needed for his upcoming dental surgery and recovery. Help honor his incredible journey and give him the pain-free life he’s been trying so hard to reach. Update 06/25 Poseidon has his dental upcoming in a few days! Rescue Kitties of Hawaii are continuously monitoring him to ensure his pain is kept to a minimum until his procedure. Thank you for your ongoing support as Poseidon prepares for his much needed dental operation! Update 07/01 Poseidon was scheduled for his dental today, but the vet found he’s still congested—even after a month on antibiotics. He now urgently needs to go to the vet to rule out pneumonia. His dental will be rescheduled, but he still desperately needs it too. Please donate now to help cover his emergency care. Poseidon is the sweetest boy—he deserves a healthy, pain-free life.

Rescue Kitties of Hawai'i and Community Cats
Help Miss Spicy – The Senior Island Survivor with a Fiery Spirit
kaunakakai, HI • Rescue Kitties of Hawaii
Rescue Kitties of Hawaii works passionately on Moloka'i island every single day, rescuing cats and kittens in dire need of help and urgent medical care. Stray cats who are sick, injured, abused, poisoned, used as live bait in dog fighting, etc. rely on RKH as their only source of care, as there are absolutely no shelters on the island. Being on a small island with limited resources, the rescue's funds are continuously depleted, and the rescue cannot keep up with the overwhelming demand to save all the Hawaiian kitties. This is why their TNRM program- Trap, Neuter, Return and Manage, is vital to help manage the ongoing overpopulation on the island. This is the most humane way to control a stray cat population, letting cats that cannot adapt to indoor/ family life live their best life. Those that can adapt to indoor life, are adopted by loving families. As many of you know, RKH is dedicated to helping several stray kitties get the urgent medical that they need in order to have a fighting chance. Cats like Boris, Annie, and Miss Spicy. Miss Spicy has received the help from a whole village of rescuers rallying behind her and has visited three different islands. Moloka'i where her journey began and where RKH is, Kona for specialized vet care, and Oahu to receive life saving dental surgery and recover. Rescue Kitties of Hawai'i is so thankful for each person that has played a role getting her to where she is today. Fierce and feisty, Miss Spicy has been fighting every step of the way, and slowly, we’re seeing her fight her way back. She’s now able to eat soft food with less pain, a small miracle that brings her closer to recovery with every bite. She’s been receiving daily pain relief, antibiotics, and other medications tailored to her fragile condition. Her regular medicated baths are also helping her regain a healthy coat. We know Miss Spicy has more life to live—and more sass to give. She will need continued medication, dental surgery, and ongoing care to fully heal and live out her golden years pain-free. Please consider donating today to help Miss Spicy, and other stray kitties like her, heal. Together, we can show them what love really feels like.

Those that can adapt to indoor life, are adopted by loving families. Inkjet, for example, is a special case Rescue Kitties of Hawaii have been pouring their hearts into helping recently. The only survivor of his litter, Inkjet, was rescued in critical condition, a tiny fighter who refused to give up. He is completely deaf, struggles with painful mouth ulcers and chronic infections, and remains small for his age. He has overcome so much, but now he faces his biggest battle yet. He has a heart murmur that is worsening, and he has started coughing—a terrifying sign that something is very wrong. The possibilities are grim: congestive heart failure, asthma, or a severe lung infection. Any of these could be life-threatening without immediate intervention. He needs an echocardiogram and chest X-ray to diagnose what’s happening inside his little body. Inkjet is currently on the island of Molokai- a very small Hawaiian island that does not have any vets, or humane euthanasia options. This is why Inkjet must fly to his amazing doctors in Oahu, who are ready to help. Without this care, he could become critical, and his caretakers would have to watch him suffer with no resources to help. Your donation today will help cover Inkjet’s lifesaving treatment he desperately needs to keep fighting, as well as other cats, like Inkjet, who need our love and support. Please consider giving these cats a chance at a brighter future. Mahalo!

Update 03/31 His recent cardiology exam at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital with an echocardiogram, chest XRays, and full bloodwork labs- confirmed that he has left ventricular hypertrophy, aortic insufficiency, suspected aortic stenosis, and an enlarged left atrium—a combination that puts him at high risk for congestive heart failure. His little heart is struggling, but with atenolol, regular vet visits, and careful monitoring of his heart and breathing rates, we will be doing everything possible to extend his time and give him the best quality of life. Thank you for helping us support Inky's ongoing care! Update 04/16 Inkjet had another appointment with a cardiologist who was able to do another echocardiogram which provided a bit more insight on his condition. He is now on a new medicine to help prevent blood clots and a beta blocker that will hopefully give him a longer happier life! Thank you for all the ongoing support!
