Mumford
Mumford is a two-month-old Sphynx kitten in Oklahoma City, OK, who needs $2,000 for urgent care.
Oklahoma City, OK • Kanoa Rescue Foundation
* Kanoa Rescue Foundation * Mumford's case is heartbreaking and likely resulted from this rare cat breed being overbred by humans. The Sphynx kitten is only two months old and can barely walk. He crawls on the ground to move. Mumford's situation is dire. The Kanoa Rescue Foundation rushed him to an animal hospital, where his veterinary team discovered critical medical problems that need urgent care. "This little kitten is not growing and developing at the correct rate," Krystal C., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "His legs do not function properly, and it is suspected his hips are not placed correctly. Both issues are likely a result of poor genetics." Then the rescue got more bad news! "It is suspected he has a misplaced bladder, warranting the need for his caretakers to help him express it regularly," Krystal says. "He has a prolapsed rectum causing him discomfort. Both are contributing to dehydration and a very swollen belly. Mumford is also battling an upper respiratory infection that is threatening to turn into pneumonia." Poor Mumford is so young and facing so much. But after multiple tests, the rescue says the kitten may have a fighting chance! Despite his young age and the severity of his condition, there is still hope for Mumford. The rescue is determined to correct his health issues and set him on a path to recovery. However, his medical bills are mounting. Your support is crucial in ensuring Mumford's ongoing veterinary treatment. Please give so Mumford has a chance at survival! Update 8/13 Our handsome little Mumsie is growing up (slowly & at a stunted pace but he’s growing!). He has made so many improvements & is enjoying all the spoils in his foster home. He has been receiving TLC (literally around the clock ). He’s drinking water, eating, going to the litter box more, and his muscles are strengthening. We’re keeping things slow & steady with him, no rush on his development for us. We just want him to be happy & healthy.

And one that's all too familiar in the lives of many stray animals, but it's not too late; YOU can help change the course of his life. Leo was found with a horrendous leg injury, likely from being hit by a car. When Operation Liberation rescue learned about Leo and saw his adorable face, they fell in love and immediately saved him. "Refusing him help was simply not an option," Amanda G., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. They raced Leo to an animal hospital. X-rays showed his pelvis was fractured, and his femur was dislocated. Leo needs diagnostic tests and possible surgery. With your support, Operation Liberation can ensure Leo receives the medical care he urgently needs. "We need your help to rewrite his story and put his cruel past behind us so he can be adopted into a loving home," Amanda says. Faye
Faye is a 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Springdale, PA, who needs $1,500 for Urgent Care.
Springdale, PA • Paws Across Pittsburgh
Paws Across Pittsburgh saved many cats from a hoarding house of horrors and needs your help. Covered in urine and feces, extremely thin, experiencing respiratory issues, and suffering from severe dental disease, Faye and many others were in rough shape and desperately needed help. "An elderly homeowner had been caring for a large number of cats in her home for years," Jackie A., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "She had reached out to some larger organizations for assistance this year but did not have a good experience and gave up on trying." The woman’s family discovered how dire the situation was and contacted Paws Across Pittsburgh for help. "We visited the home with representatives from two other rescue groups where we found approximately 40 cats living in horrific conditions," Jackie says. "The main floor of the home and most of the kitties were covered in feces and urine. Many appeared sick or injured." Paws Across Pittsburgh took in some of the cats who needed the most help, like Faye. The rescue is desperately trying to raise money for Faye and the other cats they saved. All the medical bills the organization will incur are a substantial financial undertaking. Will you help them make it through this crisis? "We cannot thank our amazing supporters enough for their generosity and kindness," Jackie says. "Your support means the world to us and to cats like Faye."

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
* The Waggle Foundation is dedicated to helping sick and injured pets regain good health. If you join our FurEver Fund today, Waggle will DOUBLE your first month's donation and apply it directly to the Maxine's care. Click the blue donate button and choose the Monthly Donation option. * Maxine's endured horrific suffering, and she needs your help! She's covered in painful chemical burns, and it hurts to move. One By One Animal Advocates saved Maxine after a series of terrible events. "Imagine spending your whole life confined in a small cage, with no freedom to explore or experience the joys of being a cat," Heather A., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "That's exactly what Maxine endured until she was surrendered to be euthanized." It was suspected stress and ear mites were causing health problems for the sweet cat. But things only got worse when an attempt was made to treat her with medication. "Instead of providing relief, it caused a horrific chemical burn, leaving her with an open, bloody wound and singeing off her whiskers," Heather says. But now, Maxine is safe with One By One Animal Advocates. "She has been through a lot, and now we have the opportunity to truly change her life for the better," Heather says. With your help and support, we can give Maxine the veterinary care and love she needs to heal from her physical wounds and regain her trust in humans. Thank you for your support!

Chance
Chance is a one-month-old Domestic Shorthair kitten in Marshall, TX, who needs $700 for urgent care.
Marshall, TX • Friends of Marshall Animals
Chance limped along a searing asphalt parking lot, baking in the Texas sun alone and in pain. His rescuers discovered his entire backside was an open, gaping, oozing, infected wound. They rushed him to the animal hospital, and now he urgently needs your help. "We don't know what happened to Chance, whether it's a case of cruelty or an accident," Linda H., with the Friends of Marshall Animals, tells Waggle. Chance's veterinary team is treating him with antibiotics, painkillers, and fluorescent and ultraviolet light to speed his healing. He's living in a foster home and receiving treatment three times a week. "Despite everything, he's affectionate and craves attention," Linda says. "Unlike most kitties, he loves a belly rub, even if he can't put himself fully on his back to get it. He shows every sign of being the sweet and curious kitten one would expect." The nonprofit group hopes you will give so Chance can heal and have a family of his own one day -- leaving this traumatic experience in the rearview mirror! "We work closely with our municipal shelter, taking ill and injured dogs and cats that need extra care and time that the shelter cannot provide," Linda says. "Given his "chance," Chance will make a great companion."

Theodore
Theodore is a 10-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $1,884 for urgent eye surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Theodore was desperate. The senior cat was alone and suffering from a ruptured, swollen eye. He found a woman and begged her for help. The woman couldn't hold back her tears. Her heart just ached when she saw his injured eye. It looked so painful. She knew he needed veterinary care immediately. She felt helpless because she didn't have the money to pay for it. She rushed him to the animal hospital, and that's when One By One Animal Advocates heard about the 11-year-old cat. "As soon as we learned about Theodore, we immediately took him in," Heather A. with the nonprofit organization tells Waggle. "He needed surgery immediately to remove his damaged eye and to be out of pain." Now the group needs your help paying for Theodore's surgery bill. Can you help? "Every little bit counts towards giving him a chance at healing and finding a forever home where he'll be loved and cared for," Heather says. "Please consider giving today. Together, we can make a difference in Theodore's life!"

Olga
Olga is a 6-year-old Turkish Angora Cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $920 Treatment due to Extreme Neglect.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
The horror Olga experienced is unimaginable. It's almost too hard to witness the horror Olga's been through. Her once-beautiful coat has twisted and ripped her delicate skin, leaving her unrecognizable. Olga and her companion Olaf were abandoned by their owner, and their neighbor brought them into a shelter to get them the care they desperately needed. "It breaks our hearts to think about how long they suffered like this before being rescued," Heather from One by One rescue says. Her fur is matted with 5 inches of dirt, urine, feces, and fleas, making it almost impossible to recognize her true beauty underneath all the mess. These poor cats desperately need intensive grooming, sedation, and antibiotics before the vets can do a full health check. They are worried that they may have diabetes due to their size and are concerned about what other problems could be hidden under all those matted fur. "She deserves so much better than she's endured in her six years. We're determined to give her the love and care she desperately needs." One by One Advocates is asking for your help to raise funds for Olga's medical treatment so that they can give this sweet kitty the attention she deserves.

STORMI
Stormi is a one-month-old Domestic Shorthair kitten in Staten island, NY, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.
Staten island, NY • Staten island hope animal rescue
A Staten Island Hope Rescue volunteer was walking through a city park with her husband and made a horrific discovery! "They heard faint little cries and came across these two tiny kittens in a shoe box, left in bushes in the park," Ivette D., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "Both were struggling and open-mouth breathing." The couple raced the kittens to the animal hospital. Despite their fast and heroic efforts, one of the kittens died en route to the ER. The other baby, Stormi, is now fighting for her life. "Stormi was rushed in, put on oxygen, and diagnosed with pneumonia," Ivette says. "She is still hospitalized, struggling to breathe." The rescue is ringing up an astronomic bill as Stormi remains in the ICU. "This baby deserves the chance to have a life," Ivette says. "I am crying as I write this. Sadly, we have people in this world who look at domestic animals as a nuisance and think dumping them in a park is OK." The rescue hopes you'll help them raise the money to pay Stormi's life-saving tab. "We have exceeded our budget and need financial support until she's breathing on her own, which will likely take a few more days to a week," Ivette says. Please give to help Stormi!

Pushpop
Pushpop is an 8-year-old DSH Cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $ $1,326 for urgent care.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Pushpop limped toward the doorstep of a house, begging for help. His paws were torn and raw, and ulcers covered his mouth. When One by One Animal Advocates heard about Pushpop, they knew they had to help him! They rushed him to the animal hospital, where Pushpop was admitted. The veterinary team discovered he was severely anemic and needed fluids and daily bloodwork to monitor his fragile condition. The poor kitty also suffered from "pillow foot," an autoimmune disorder that caused his painful paws. He also needs surgery to remove a mass on his foot and dental surgery for his horrible teeth. "Despite his obvious pain, he's an absolute trooper and very loving," Heather A., with One by One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle. The group needs your assistance raising the money for Pushpop's care. Once he has surgery and is on medication to help with his foot condition, they think he will be ready for the loving forever home he deserves! "With just a bit of help towards Pushpop's medical care, we can make sure that we never have to say 'no' to an animal in need," Heather says. "Can you please help us get this sweet senior the care he deserves?"

Ella
Ella is a 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Tampa, FL, who needs $650 for Tooth Extraction.
Tampa, FL
Ella is a 5-year-old baby that we adopted at the end of 2017 from the Humane society. She has grown with us through two moves in our local area. Ella was diagnosed with epilepsy at about 16 months old, and has learned to live with seizures, taking medication daily to help keep them at a minimum. She lives with me, her mommy, and her little brother, Smokey. Ella is the queen of the house and makes sure everyone knows it. She visits us while we sit on the sofa, and makes sure she occupies a lap, no matter how inconvenient her timing can be. She loves to boss around Smokey and makes sure to sit on our bar chairs where she can see us when she cooks. Ella loves to stare out the window and has even made friends with lizards and toads on occasion. Ella is a sweet and loving baby who brings so much joy into our lives. She loves to play with her crinkly ramen packet toy and chase after the red dot made by the laser pointer. She has learned several commands, including "shake", and she's eager to show off when she can. Her favorite way to show off is rolling around on the upstairs landing, hoping receive some quality back and head scratches. Ella recently had a seizure that resulted in a chipped top left canine tooth. Chipped teeth are a serious source of concern in cats, as they can lead to infections and be quite painful. Ella needs this tooth removed in order to help relieve some of this pain and prevent any future infections or complications. Ella will be visiting our local non-profit vet for her surgery. This chipped tooth comes at a time where we recently have gotten married and don't have much left-over money to manage a sudden and costly dental surgery for our cat. We want to provide the best care possible and would graciously accept any and all help.

Zera
Zera is a 4-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $935 for emergency surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Zera must have realized she needed immediate help and found her way to a family's doorstep. When the family opened their door, they were in shock! Zera's legs were covered in bloody pus. Turns out it was all coming from her mouth. She was struggling to survive. The family rushed her to the emergency animal hospital. That's when someone contacted One By One Animal Advocates, who came to her rescue next! "Her mouth was in such bad shape," Heather A., with the group, tells Waggle. "There was a high chance of the infection entering her bloodstream." The veterinarian found Zera had hideously rotten teeth and a large mass under her tongue. They started her on antibiotics immediately. Zera will need surgery to remove her infected teeth and the tumor -- which will be sent to a lab to test for cancer. "Without this treatment, she does not have a chance of surviving," Heather says. The group needs your help raising the money for Zera's operation. Her condition breaks their hearts as she is loving, sweet, and playful. Zera loves being around people and would love to have a family one day. "Zera is why our rescue exists," Heather says. "A nameless, stray cat wandering the streets unable to eat, in pain, and at risk of death, entirely dependent on the kindness of humans to help her. Can we count on you to be her hero?"

Charlie
Charlie is a 10-year-old Ginger Tabby Cat in Fontana , CA, who needs $1,138 for Extensive Dental Extraction and Procedures.
Fontana, CA
Hi my name is Donna, and Charlie came into my life when he was in the yard, I rent room, he was in the yard meowing for food and ever since then I fell in love with him and he's mine. He's a ferrel which means he's constantly outside. The neighbor said, he was born in the backyard and a log pile. When I first seen him he was age 3. Charlie is always outside he's a ferrel. I rent a room so he does not live in the house the owner of the house has three dogs and I'm very allergic to cats but I love this cat I like cats. He's very friendly for being a feral you know outside in the wild he lets us pick him up. That is recently he let us pick him up. This cat is special to me because he came into my life where I needed some type of friend that doesn't talk. When I come home he knows my car and he runs across the street or meets me when I go to work. When he was younger he's now 10 years old and 6 months when he was younger he would show off and run up the tree and run on the roof. And he's very vocal he has the cutest meow. He has the dental disease. He need his teeth removed and he was on medication, but that lasted 5 days. He is out of medicine. And starting to have trouble eating again. He was not eating or even drinking milke for a week or more. So at this moment he's off medication and the owner said she would call for a refill but she's really busy so she has not done that yet. I don't have $1,138 and I tried to apply for the veterinary credit card my credit is so bad I don't know what else to do and I don't want to put the cat to sleep. To me that's horrible.

Kavalier
Kavalier is a 10-year-old Orange Tabby Cat in Pasadena, CA, who needs $1,808 for CT Scan.
Pasadena, CA
Kavalier aka Kav is a ten (10) year old curious and happy kitty. I adopted him and his fraternal twin brother from a friend when they were three (3). She adopted them when they were kittens and named them after the book, The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. They’re inseparable. Kav is a much-loved kitty and brings so much joy to my life. He is just so dang cute, loving, and impossible to resist! Kav is the friendliest kitty. He follows me (Mommy) wherever I go from room to room. You will fall in love with him the minute you meet him. He loves to greet people, then collapses on his side acting cute to get pets whenever he can. He and his brother like to sleep at the end of the bed and keep my feet warm. He is always there to make me, and my partner smile no matter what is going on. He has the loudest purr I have ever heard and it's so endearing. He loves boxes of all sizes, and he sits or lays in ones that are too small for him. During his annual vaccines, he is always complimented on what a sweet boy he is. He has been known to turn multiple "dog people" into "cat people." He is amazing! In Oct, 2020 Kav had an X-Ray that found a chest mass. In Mar, 2021 Kav had repeat X-Rays, and it had grown. In May 2021, he had his first CT and it was found stable. At the vet's direction, I waited 6 months for another CT and it was still stable. He now has to have annual CTs to monitor the mass and is due for it this Dec. 2022. I was laid off during the pandemic and was getting by with unemployment assistance. It has since run out. I have had health issues of my own preventing me from working a full-time job. I am grateful for any financial assistance in helping my beautiful boy thrive for years to

Sonnie
Sonnie is a 6-year-old Siamese Mix in Decatur, IL, who needs $763 for Chronic Urethral Obstruction, FLUTD.
DECATUR, IL
Sonnie came into my life after I started feeding the feral cat community at my apartment complex. I was feeding up to 10 cats a day and they just kept having kittens. Never had a cat, only dogs. One of the first sets of kittens I brought in had Sonnie. He was born from an all black mother and had 2 siblings both dark gray and black. Genetics are fascinating! Sonnie is a character. He loves to talk, especially if he thinks it’s past his time to eat. He’s the snuggliest guy in the world. He usually gets along with his big sister (no actual relation) except he’s been at the vet a lot lately which has changed his smell. Big sis Luna hasn’t warmed up to him yet and all he wants is to snuggle and be groomed by her. I mean the man is crazy, loud, clingy, chunky, goofy and has brought me so many laughs and smiles while I was getting sober. He has cuddled me through many withdrawals but hopefully his work is done ok that front as I have been sober for almost 6 months. He’s great with conversation when he’s in the mood, always meowing when he knows I’m talking to him. So Sonnie just recently came home from having his 2nd urinary blockage as well as multiple UTI’s in a bit over 2 years. He was most recently hospitalized on 11/5/22 for the 2nd obstruction which requires 3 days of car and an almost $1000 bill. Plus his rx food is $34 for 4lbs. Sonnie now is considered to have a chronic urinary condition requiring prescription food. I want to be able to follow up with his Dr for the recommended urinalysis and start his new diet but I have to pay off for the obstruction and hospitalization. Thank you for reading!

Marley
Marley is a 1-year-old DSH Cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Life-Threatening Gaping Abdominal Wound.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Marley, 1-2 year old female cat who was attacked and ripped open. She had a large, deep abdominal wound and we feared for her life, when we got her to the ER. The vet reported a dangerously high temperature of more than 105F. She urgently needed IV fluids, antibiotics, pain medication, and blood work. She is suffering from a severe infection so the vet team cannot close the wound because it would only trap the infection, making it worse. Marley is currently receiving around the clock care at the hospital- wet to dry bandage changes daily. Once the infection is under control, She will need surgery to debride the wound, freshen the edges, and attempt closure. We don’t know what attacked her, but the vet said she is a very lucky girl! The predator went for her groin, which can cause death from rapid blood loss. We are so grateful she escaped and was found by a sympathetic and compassionate person who then reached out to us, One by One Animal Advocates for help. Marley has used several of her 9 lives already, and we need your help to save her! She is just a baby, has a full life ahead of her, and a family that would be very lucky to have her. We have been crushed with recent medical bills and it seems there is no stopping the calls and requests for homeless animals. We never want to have to say no to animal who needs our help. Can you please help us by donating towards her surgery and on-going medical bills? Every amount helps!

Despite her pain, she’s is sweet and loving as can be, and knows she will get the help she so badly needs!! She must have known where to go, we are not exactly sure where she came from before that We have only known her a short time. She has spent her time with the staff at at the veterinary hospital receiving her life saving treatment and care, but they say she is an absolute doll and a total sweetheart of a kitty. Which is amazing with everything she has been thru. I’m Sure she only has brighter days ahead Luna is an extremely special lady we feel, not sure how many animals could survive what she’s been thru and still be so sweet and and trusting of humans. She found her way to a home, we feel, that new would help her, and they reached out to use to take her and we did immediately. She is the sweetest little kitty and brighter days ahead. Luna was found in a yard on a back country road where she was suffering horrific injuries. Belle
Belle is a 4-year-old DSH Cat in Baltimore, MD, who needs $2,000 for TECA-BO Procedure.
Baltimore, MD
Belle came into my life when she was just 2 months old. She’s my little baby. She was born outside in a barn in Pennsylvania and she was listed on a Facebook group. I instantly fell in love with her. My family has her brother named Simba. She has a special bond with her big brother Choo Choo who is extremely protective of her and has loved her since day one. She also has a few other siblings. Belle loves to “hen” on random objects made of cardboard or papers. No work is allowed to be done on paper, because that is now her bed. She has been known to sit on her dads open pizza box while he’s eating it. At night, she loves to hen on a thigh or her dads head/pillow. She has everyone wrapped around her finger, especially for treats. She has no problem flirting for the goodies! Belles best friend is her brother Choo Choo, they are inseparable. She also loves to sit in the window and cheep at the birdies. She also loves flipflops! She kneads on them and with hen after. She loves to drink water from the sink and will ask for it to be turned on. She will follow her dad anywhere, even if it means waking up and stretch walking while catching up to him. In May, took her to the Emergency Vet twice. They treated her like she had a URI both times because it didn’t clear up with meds. Now shes treated at Countryside Vet Clinic and they suspected a polyp. Had surgery that didn’t work, polyp just broke apart, so there was a huge concern for cancer. Biopsy came back as a bad polyp and now needs a TECA-BO procedure to get normalcy back I just had a 2 yr stage 4 cancer fight, in remission but can’t work. That loss of income has made this really hard and it’s already cost about $2,000. I’ll do anything to help her, she is so important and has helped me through my cancer journey. She’s our baby nugget.

Oliver Wendell Holmes - (Oli)
Oliver Wendell Holmes - (Oli) is a 4-year-old Maine Coon Cat in Edinboro, PA, who needs $2,000 for SRS/SRT Radiation.
Edinboro, PA
In August 2018 I went to a local pet rescue just to go pet kittens! When I got to the shelter, all the kittens came over to play for a few minutes. Then one kitten jumped on my lap & would not move. I said to myself I’ll come back in a couple of days and if he still does that, then he has to come home with me. I came back, and the kitten jumped on my lap again & refused to move. He picked me! We have a total of seven pets in the house, three dogs and four cats and Oliver gets along well with everyone. His favorite, however, is another cat named Blossom, who is also a rescue who I found in my flower bed a few days after I adopted Oliver they love to snuggle and groom each other, as well as run around the house in the middle of the night. Oliver also loves to snuggle and groom our dogs. One of my favorite things about Oliver is how he and blossom love to play with little pom-poms that they carry around in the middle of the night meowing like they’ve captured a mouse. After he is done with that, he usually comes into my bed and sleep there all night and is there first thing in the morning laying on top of me with his 14 pounds, purring, and getting as close to my face as he can! Oliver was extremely healthy up until the morning of August 21, 2022 when he came into the bedroom and I saw he had a lump on his head. I thought he had been playing rough and went to the vet to check it out. Well it turned out to be a fibrosarcoma, and the amazing vets at PSVEC in Pittsburgh removed the tumor, but because of the location, he will need radiation treatment as well to try to beat this. I do not have any back up money to pay for Oliver’s treatment. I take care of 7 pets in all, but Oliver picked me and he means the world to me. He is always there for me and loves me unconditionally. I promised him I would always be there for him too.

Snow White
Snow White is a one-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Kitts Hill, OH, who needs $800 for urgent care and surgery.
Kitts hill, OH • Misfit Paws Rescue
Mama Snow White and her little kittens were found by a good Samaritan on the side of the road in Kentucky just in time. They needed immediate medical care, and Misfit Paws rescue rushed them to their veterinarian, Pawsitive Pet Care Clinic, where they were hospitalized. Snow White was such an incredible mama cat that she exhausted herself caring for her babies in the wild, ensuring they were safe. She needed fluids and vitamins so she could regain her strength. "During her entire hospitalization, Snow White took care of her babies without fail," Missy C., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "Even though she was not feeling the best, she never stopped being a mama first." Then her medical team found a tumor on her body, which she needs removed and sent to pathology. She will also be spayed during the operation. Misfit Paws Rescue is a nonprofit rescue that takes in abandoned and neglected cats in the Kentucky area. Snow White and her kittens were not something the rescue expected to take on -- but there was no way they could say no! Please consider giving to help Snow White live happily ever after!

Zoey
Zoey is a 13-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Intensive Care and Hospitalization.
Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope
Zoey was our first mama cat rescued in 2010 with her 2 kittens just as Pathway was established. We were committed to her then, and we are committed now. She was abandoned outside a pet store on a busy road. She lived with her “kittens” Abby and Elmo their whole lives, but sadly, this past year was their last together, as Zoey needed more intensive care and was surrendered back to us. Zoey has been facing too much in recent months. After being diagnosed with diabetes and a long struggle to balance her treatment, Zoey lost her home of 11 years. She has developed two abscesses hidden under her skin and fur, both of which exploded with wounds, necessitating immediate medical care and hospitalization. Zoey was hospitalized for over a week initially and has regularly visited the hospital since then over the last 6 months, now going approximately every 2 weeks to stay for the day for a recheck. She has undergone extensive diagnostics – and her list of ailments is overwhelming. But, no one told Zoey she is supposed to be doing anything besides living – and so that’s what Zoey does, with spunk. Doctors have diagnosed her with pancreatitis, abscessed wounds (they believe she may have underlying cancer that hasn’t surfaced yet), uncontrolled diabetes, and some neurological concerns. When Zoey first came home from the hospital, she was unable to walk unassisted. She was so weak that we wondered if we had made the right decision moving forward…so, we left it up to Zoey. Despite all of her ailments, Zoey has been an incredible fighter, showing an intense will to live. Zoey’s hospital bills have been around $15,000 over the last 6 months, but she keeps fighting to live, and so we, A Pathway to Hope, feel moved to fight alongside her.

Reese
Reese is a 2-month-old Domestic Shorthair in Hawthorne, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Hospitalization.
Hawthorne, NJ • A Pathway to Hope
Kittens are so incredibly fragile, and without the help of A Pathway to Hope, a kitten named Reese would have perished. Reese was found laying in the heat in a flowerpot (as seen in her main photo) for hours, eyes sealed shut, lethargic and fading away – until their team quickly mobilized and rushed her to the hospital. Reese was covered in fleas, suffering from an upper respiratory infection and so anemic that she required an emergency blood transfusion – and she seemed to bounce back and was released from the hospital. Sadly, Reese quickly deteriorated overnight in foster. She was quickly rushed back to the hospital with lethargy, lack of appetite, and labored breathing concerns. She was not eating, was put on oxygen, ran a fever, and awaited chest x-rays. Reese also had to repeat bloodwork to determine if she had any red blood cells left to fight off the infection that was overtaking her tiny body. Vets believe Reese’s upper respiratory infection worsened in her lungs, possibly into pneumonia. This gorgeous, frightened girl is learning to trust and truly has found her second chance at life. A Pathway to Hope could use your support in helping fund her medical care so they can continue their mission of life-saving work.

Hugo
Hugo is a 6-year-old Himalayan Cat in Vacaville, CA, who needs $2,000 for Peritoneal Pericardial Diaphragmatic Hernia with Hepatic Involvement.
Vacaville, CA
Hugo's Dad works a stressful job as an active duty member of the US Air Force. He always knew he wanted a kitty companion, and when he saw Hugo looking for a home at the SPCA he immediately fell in love and knew Hugo had to come home with him. Hugo is a huge help to his Dad, his Dad's partner, and everyone he meets. He is always by his Dad's side and is an incredibly loyal love-bug. Hugo spends his days glued to his peoples' sides, clawing at his cactus scratching post, climbing his tall cat tree next to the window to observe the birds and bask in the sun, enjoying his little den in a large box left out for him, and having fun chasing his toys. Hugo loves head scratches and naps, and when you start petting him he turns into a little purr engine. Hugo's Dad says: Hugo is a kind and gentle soul who brings so much to those around him. I was in a rough spot. I came home to an empty house everyday and felt myself losing motivation to do the things I am passionate about. Once Hugo came into my life everything started turning around. I had someone there for me, who made me happy and brought value to my life. He gave me a light in the darkness. About a week after being adopted Hugo started showing signs of serious illness. He vomited often, refused food, and became wobbly and lethargic. An emergency vet visit and multiple trips to his regular vet for testing, x-rays, and an ultrasound finally revealed his diagnosis: a peritoneal pericardial diaphragmatic hernia with hepatic involvement. He now needs emergency surgery to save his life. Hugo's diagnostic journey has been incredibly expensive. We need your help to fund the emergency life-saving surgery he needs to continuing living a happy, healthy life and being the light of his Dad's life.

Sabrina
Sabrina is a 12-year-old Domestic Short Hair Cat in Middletown, NY, who needs $700 for Mass Removal-Biopsy-Dental Cleaning.
Middletown, NY
Hi everyone! Sabrina, aka, Beanie is my cat of 12 years. I have had her since the day she was born and she is, quite frankly, my little baby. She will be 13 years old in October and is enjoying her life as a spoiled, slightly overweight, and loved senior cat. Unfortunately, senior cats come with unexpected and very large vet bills. As a single 23 yro cat mom it can be a struggle sometimes! Beanie sleeps with me right by my chest every night and snores like an old man. She loves to sit in on zoom calls and is the best study buddy a girl could have. She loves to talk and will sit there all day conversing if you let her! She has calico attitude but is also the sweetest baby who loves kisses and belly rubs. Beanie has 3 other siblings that she tolerates and will sometimes play with. Beanie loves to hang out with me, whether it's helping me in the kitchen by begging for food or sleeping next to me while we watch Youtube videos. She loves to watch mice on TV every morning after breakfast and listen to birds in the trees outside. Beanie and I love to sun bathe together on a nice sunny day and get a tan (haha). She is my companion, baby, and friend all in one. Beanie will need surgery to remove a mass on her leg as well as well as have a biopsy of the mass. The biopsy is essential as it will tell us whether or no the mass is cancerous or benign. During this surgery, she will also need a dental cleaning and possible teeth removal. All of these procedures are absolutely essential for Beanie's health. Unfortunately, the cost of Beanie's surgery, biopsy, and dental cleaning has been an unexpected expense after a routine checkup. This is major expense with no emergency fund and it is absolutely ESSENTIAL that I test Beanie for cancer.

Leela
Leela is a 2 -month-old Domesticated Short Hair Cat in Moore , SC, who needs $900 for Removal of Right Eye.
Moore, SC
I found this 8 week old kitten almost dead. I’ve saved her for 9 days now. She is eating, drinking, and toileting. But she was so sick. I’ve taken her to a family members vet and she is getting antibiotics, eye ointment, and had iv fluids and steroids, however, her eye is gonna need more medical attention and most likely removal. I can keep her but can’t afford medical bills right now. Thank you She is the most loving baby I’ve ever seen. Although she must be in a great deal of discomfort, she just purrs and follows you. She loved to perch on my shoulder and get love. We recently had to euthanize our 15 year old dog… so our hearts are heavy… but sweet Leela is helping fill the big hole we were left with Seeing that Leela is only a wee baby and I just found her a little over a week ago, her behaviors ans personality are still being observed and learned. She is so so very loving and wants to perch on my shoulder when being held. She prefers me over my kids, maybe because she still not feeling great, maybe she just likes me 😉 Infant rescue kitten with eye infection. SEVERE. Needs medical assistance. Smith Veterinary hospital, Spartanburg, SC had bid the surgical removal of the eye at 800.00. This is who we will be using for treatment and post operatively. Leela was found with a litter mate in a neighbors yard. My aunt and I rescued them but Leela needs more vet care than I can afford right now. I recently (last week) started a new job after unexpectedly losing my job a few months ago. I was without work over two months. Last week we had to put our 15 yo dog down… money is just hard to come by temporarily

Barbour
Barbour is a four-month-old Domestic Short Hair kitten in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Barbour is only four months old and has already had a traumatic life. He ended up in an animal shelter gasping for breath and barely able to walk. When One By One Animal Advocates heard about this sweet, injured kitten who was struggling to live, they rushed him to Proctorville Animal Clinic. X-rays revealed a horrific glimpse of the abuse Barbour suffered: He had a traumatic tear in his diaphragm. The wall inside his body was ripped on both sides, and his leg was fractured. The veterinarian suspects someone kicked this tiny, innocent kitten and caused these devastating injuries. Now Barbour needs urgent surgery to fix his diaphragm and leg. "Without us being there to assist him, Barbour would have faced euthanasia at the shelter," Heather A., from One By One, tells Waggle. "Repairing his diaphragm is a very complicated surgery, and repairing his leg will be another operation. But once he heals, he will be the perfect addition to a wonderful family." With your help, Barbour can have a second chance and learn there are people who will love him and not hurt him! "His life hung in the balance, and we stepped in to help," Heather says. "Barbour is your typical, sweet kitten that has just had a rough start. He needs immediate medical help now so he can be on the way to recovery and his new home."

Booker
Booker is a 7-year-old Domestic Shorthair Cat in Shelbyville , TN, who needs $650 for Periodontal Surgery/Extractions.
Shelbyville, TN
We rescued Booker from our local animal shelter. We had recently lost our first all grey cat and my husband had been wanting a new grey kitty. We waited until we saw Booker. He's been a perfect fit for our rag tag band of animals. Booker shares his home with 3 other cats, two dogs, a bird, and 3 humans. Booker is a very friendly cat, but his heart truly belongs to my husband. While he is the quietest of all the animals he will demand love with a firm bump of his head. He will crawl onto my husband's chest and sleep there for hours. He LOVES treats and will not eat any treats unless he's on his kitchen chair. Booker has mastered the well known art of silently judging their owners. He's also known to throw a great "cat party" whenever we go out. (He always looks guilty of being up to no good lol). He loves lying in the grass in the back yard and being chased around the yard when it's time to go back in. He is such a bright light to our family. Booker has dental disease. He is now at the point where we need to move onto to extractions to protect his overall health. He is having difficulty eating and is having secondary infections. The situation is urgent and he needs help. He is being treated at Northpoint Animal Hospital. We are a hardworking family. Recent emergency home repairs have taken our savings. Booker is so important to our family. He is my husband's best feline friend and we want him with us as long as possible.

MuMu
MuMu is a 11-year-old Russian Blue Cat in Carmel, IN, who needs $1,800 for I-131 Radioiodine Treatment.
Carmel, IN
Our sweet MuMu was a rescue from a 90+ year old woman's estate when she passed away. She was a lap cat/companion for her. We received her when she was approximately 5 years old. MuMu had never been around children before, and it took some getting used to her new home environment which included myself and two children, then age 2 and 13. She came out of her shell and became the perfect pet. MuMu has been a very loving family member. She has comforted us during our trials and tribulations in life, during our sicknesses and surgeries and sad life moments. She has never waivered in her enduring love for us. She loves to sit outside the bathroom when my son showers, to meow at him when he comes out. She fills a missing void in our lives after losing my oldest son last year. MuMu loves to stay up late at night with me while I work from home on the overnight shift. She is often found at my feet, or on my desk as shown in the picture. She takes turns sleeping in both kids' beds, and is always on my bed first thing when I wake up every morning, waiting for her breakfast and to be the first downstairs. She first became sick in April. She had very high liver enzymes and was treated with antibiotics/steroids. Liver enzymes went up and down over the course of several months with an ultrasound not showing anything significant to cause the fluctuations. In August, Mumu took a drastic turn for the worse and stopped eating, ultimately testing positive for hyperthyroid, the driving cause of her symptoms Treatment to date has ran over $3500. She will be required to stay on meds every 12 hours for the rest of her life. Hyperthyroidism causes a shorter lifespan + cost to continuously monitor blood thyroid levels. Radioiodine treatment will cure her and give her her life back.

Brooklyn
Brooklyn is a one-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $600 for emergency surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Brooklyn had several brushes with death that were so severe she may be pushing her nine lives! She got brought to a shelter as a mama cat with her litter of newborn kittens. Brooklyn was malnourished, emaciated, and suffering from a horrendous respiratory infection. Then in a heartbreaking turn of events, all her babies passed away. Brooklyn stayed at the shelter to recover both physically and mentally. Then one day, she began struggling to breathe. The staff took her for an X-ray and learned she needed extensive surgery that a county shelter could not afford. They contacted One By One Animal Advocates, who came to Brooklyn's rescue. "We knew she was in extreme distress," Heather A., from the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "To see video of her gasping for breath clued us in that we were in a quick fight for her life." They raced the Tabby cat to Proctorville Animal Hospital, where the medical team discovered Brooklyn's condition was far worse than anyone knew. She had likely been hit by a car *before* she came to the shelter. The trauma created an opening in her body that allowed her stomach, liver, small intestine, and even a portion of her large intestine to migrate into her lung cavity. Her organs were crushing her lungs. Brooklyn was starting to suffocate from the pressure and was moments away from dying. "The fear was that some of her organs would start to attach to the cavity wall, having been up there so long. If they were unable to separate them, they would have had to have let her go on the table. It was very touch-and-go and frightening. She had already suffered being hit by a car, losing her kittens, and then fighting to live. We wanted to do everything we could," Heather says. The rescue group hopes to raise enough money to pay off Brooklyn's medical bills. Then finally, she will have a shot at a happy, pain-free life."We are often asked to help animals in severe medical crises," Heather adds. "We are just so thankful for the Waggle community and their support."

Gracie

Utica, MI
Gracie's mother was hit by a car while out on my morning run I brought gracie home with me got her cleaned up gave her formula and got her litter trained and food trained and she has been an absolute joy to me but because I don't know anything about her mother or her history I need to get her feline leukimia tested and I need to get her vaccinated if anyone can help please donate She loves to cuddle with myself and my daughter she loves playing with her toys and chasing a ball is her favorite thing to do she also loves to Watch TV and land on the couch under a blanket She loves to look out the window at birds and lay in the sun by the back door and have squirrels come to the door and tease them She is a big talker she loves to tell all kinds of stories in the mornings and she will lay on your chest and purr all day if you let her she also loves to jump in the bathtub with water in it and take baths she drinks water from the faucet if you leave it running and she loves her wet food and lickable treats I am looking to get help for her first round of shots and make sure she does not have feline leukimia. Ashe
Ashe is an 11 month old cat in Pacific Palisades, CA, who needs $2,000 for emergency life-saving surgery to remove foreign bodies.
Pacific Palisades, CA
When Audrey's previous cat Ollie escaped her home and was killed during a hit and run, Audrey's young family was devastated. Up through the ashes of desolation rose Ashe, adopted from Kitten Rescue Los Angeles. "Ashe has been my little angel ever since and is the best little sister to Snowball", says Audrey. "She helped me through the mourning process when Ollie passed away. Our home is once again filled with love and happiness". Ashe is the sweetest, most energetic, happy little kitten. She sleeps on Audrey's chest every night and cuddles with Snowball throughout the day. "She is my comfort and has helped me tremendously through the ups and downs of life, loss and Covid", Audrey confesses. "Ashe makes us laugh every day- whether she steals lettuce out of my salad bowl or pounces on her big brother Snowball, she is such a special little girl with a massive personality. She purrs like a machine, and wants to give affection to anyone that is in need." Unfortunately, Ashe has an interest in her human siblings' non-edible toys. Although the family is extremely diligent about picking up after themselves to ensure Ashe's safety, Ashe swallowed a toy. Ashe was immediately rushed to the veterinary hospital for treatment, but the toy was already lodged in her stomach. The veterinary hospital gave Audrey's family the heartbreaking news; Ashe needed emergency surgery to save her life. "Hopefully they will be able to remove the foreign object and Ashe will then be able to heal and have a wonderful, long life. This little baby deserves it." This is a massive unexpected cost to Audrey's young family. They will stop at nothing to save Ashe, but they need help. "Your donation, no matter the size, will help me and the veterinary staff at Access Vet save Ashe's life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart in advance."

Nero
Nero is a 1-year-old in Wakefield , MA, who needs $1,098 for Roundworm, Guardia, x-ray.
Wakefield, MA
This is Nero. We found him in the woods. He was starving when we found him and came right into our home. He ate so much! We rescued him from Cape Cod and the vet told us he was probably abandoned. He is about 1 year old and is living with my mother to prevent the spread of anything to my other cat. He is the sweetest boy. Affection and friendly with everyone. He deserves a fighting chance. He is the most friendly and kind cat. I have never met a sweeter male cat. He loves pets from people and a warm body to sleep next to him. He talks to everyone! Meows often and loves to be brushed and cleaned. He is amazing with children. Patient and sweet. He has never scratched anyone and loves attention from the whole family. He is chatty and yells his meows! You can hear him anywhere in the house. He loves to head butt people to their head. He responds to every question you ask him and loves to talk! He has an answer for everything. He will come with you wherever you go. He follows us around the house like a dog and stays by our side at night. Nero is vomiting often and has lost weight. He is only about 5.5 lbs and does not seem to be gaining weight. He has been throwing up at least 1x a day. We brought him to Dr. Jawitz at Stoneham Animal Hospital. He has been so wonderful to our other pet. He is currently being treated for roundworm and guardia. He is still not gaining weight so he will need more testing. He is also dehydrated. I am currently out on medical leave myself and he does not qualify for my pet insurance yet. I am concerned that he was abandoned because his previous owners could not provide medical care to him. He was previously neutered and dumped by his previous owner.

Fendi
Fendi is a four-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for critical surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Grateful. That might be the best way to describe Fendi. The moment the injured, emaciated cat ate the food his rescuers fed him, he purred with pure excitement. With every bite, Fendi let everyone know how thankful he is by saying, "Nom, nom, nom. Nom, nom, nom." It's so precious and almost unbelievable they recorded video of him humming with happiness. A delivery driver first spotted Fendi lying in a field. The driver slammed his truck into park, jumped out, swooped in, and picked up the emaciated and injured cat. The driver turned into a hero and went to the nearest home, asking if they knew who owned the cat. When no one recognized Fendi, the man brought him home and posted for help on social media. That's when One By One Animal Advocates came to the rescue next. "The man sent us videos of the cat trying to walk and asked if we could take him," Heather A., with the group, tells Waggle. "It was clear the cat was hurt. It was painful and awkward to watch." One By One brought Fendi to an emergency animal hospital. He had two broken legs, a broken pelvis, and was starving. "How he was able to fend for himself outdoors, as broken as he was, is amazing," Heather says. "He is the sweetest cat. In every video the ER veterinarian sent us, he's just purring the entire time, pushing his head on people. He was so underweight he loves to eat." Unfortunately, Fendi's fractures were old, and his bones began to heal improperly. The animal hospital put splints on his broken front and back legs, but he needs orthopedic surgery to fix them at Proctorville Animal Clinic. The group is trying to raise the money for Fendi's operation. With the proper care, his prognosis is excellent. Heather expects once Fendi heals post-op, he will be put up for adoption and continue to inspire people. "This cat will make the best of every situation," Heather adds. "He improves your mood immediately. If he can be this happy and loving when he's so broken, he will be fantastic. Everyone who has met him thinks he's phenomenal." Please help Fendi get back on all four feet again. He needs a few more heroes in his journey. Will you be one of them?

Peanut
Peanut is a 8-year-old in Canonsburg, PA, who needs $655 for Dental surgery.
Canonsburg, PA
Peanut came to me from an older woman who couldn’t care for him anymore. He had a lot of issues I decided to take him in. He has had three partial bladder blockages luckily he’s been okay for a year now. He now needs a dental procedure he has a sore mouth. He has a few brothers and sisters. He lives in a wonderful loving home. Peanut is very shy but loves everyone including myself. He’s a great cat and has lost weight as well. He was 22 pounds now down to 18. He is on a specific diet. He’s really a sweet boy and just adores his life and brothers and sisters. I just want to get his procedure done because his mouth is really making him miserable. Peanut is special to me just like all my animals are special. He’s had a lot done traumatically in his life. He means the world to me. He was saved three times from PVSEC with his partial blockages. He fought everyday he was at the hospital. He enjoys me and loves being pet and snuggled when possible. This is a dental emergency. His K9 teeth are affecting his ability to eat. He is in constant pain and has been for a month. I’ve luckily been able to boil food and etc… to keep him okay until the April procedure. I’ve got another cat Earl who is a hospice kitty so I have a hard time sometimes when unexpected emergencies happen. His vet is Pleasent Valley Vet in McMurray PA My hours at work were cut. I have other cats one hospice kitty who is diabetic that is also being cared for. I pulled from my 401k to get some kind of money for peanut surgery.

Highway
Highway is a 2-year-old cat in Norwalk, CT, who needs $2,000 for surgical intervention with the need for metal plates to stabilize both fractures.
Norwalk, CT • Pet Animal Welfare Society
Highway, aptly named as he was found at a Rest Stop on I95, was discovered by State Police on January 24th near the New Canaan exit. The cat was abandoned by his owner and left in a carrier by the side of the rest stop. The State Officers immediately suspected abuse as they noticed that the cat struggled when walking and that one eye was ruptured. The cat looked like he was in terrible pain! New Canaan Animal Control reached out to Pet Animal Welfare Society of CT or PAWS to join forces to help Highway. PAWS is a nonprofit dedicated to the rescue and adoption of our communities homeless and abused cats and dogs. Highway was quickly made comfortable and was seen by the PAWS’ vet. X rays validated our worst suspicion – according to our vet, Highway was definitely abused. Despite his extensive injuries, Highway maintains his sweet temperament and disposition. He is a very sweet cat who will definitely find a forever home. Highway has a very different and rewarding life ahead of him, thanks to the quick thinking and action of the State Police and New Canaan Animal Control. Highway suffered fractures in both front legs. Highway will require expensive surgical intervention with the need for metal plates to stabilize both fractures. In addition to his broken legs, Highway suffers from a painful, ruptured eye which will be removed by PAWS' in-house medical team. Our vet suspects that the eye was punctured with a sharp object. Highway’s fractures will be performed by an outsourced veterinary clinic, costing thousands of dollars. On behalf of Highway, a huge thank you in advance. You are the true heroes of animal rescue and your generosity and support give animals like Highway a second chance.

Boba
Boba is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Wichita, KS, who needs $2,000 for Surgery, Hospitalization, Laser Therapy, Wound Repair, IV Fluids, Medications, and daily baths. diagnosed with Fourniers Gangrene.
Wichita, KS
I adopted Boba about a year ago in March 2021 from Wichita Animal Action League. I consider him my emotional support kitty. Boba is named after Boba Fett from Star wars. He has two housemates; Gaia who is his adopted kitty sister, and Mac who is Boba's doggie brother. We currently live in a rental. Our home has a small fenced in backyard that we all love to hang out in and enjoy the sunshine. In Bobas free time, he is a king sleeping on his high throne (cat tree). Gaia and Boba love to groom each other every day. They have a special cuddle session every night. Boba loves to play with Mac's tail and Mac will tease him right back. Our friends and family love Boba almost as much as he loves them. He is social and sweet! He makes biscuits on the daily and purrs very loudly. My favorite part of my day is coming home to my handsome Boba waiting for me on his stool next to the front door. He meows and me and tells me how much he loves me and missed me each day. When I get ready, Boba is right there to help me, he hangs out on the bathroom counter and watches me prepare for the day, while his sister Gaia watches me from her special bathroom drawer. Andrea Hemmen from Oakcrest Pet Hospital is treating Boba for a rare condition called Fournier's Gangrene. Starting one Friday night, he began vomiting and running a fever. Diagnostics were run to find a cause of his symptoms with no luck other than a possible foreign body, which he went into surgery for. One week later he presented for necrotic skin and a huge opening in his genital area. This was a sudden unexpected expense. Boba can potentially be hospitalized for upwards of 2 months. He needs continuous care and cleaning as he has large open wounds. Boba has had two surgeries and possibly will need more as he continues to heal.

Espresso
Espresso is an 11-year-old Siamese cat mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Espresso's rescue story is so incredible it will give you goosebumps! Sheer timing and a man who turned out to be a good Samaritan narrowly saved this cat's life. The man was driving during a downpour and thought he saw the glimpse of an animal's eyes reflect in his headlights. It was dark and raining, but he felt like he should pull over and investigate. His hunch was correct! That's when this hero spotted a cat dragging his horribly injured leg behind him, struggling on the side of the road. So what does the man do? He fearlessly picked up the kitty, put him in his car, and brought him home so he would be safe. Then he contacted One By One Animal Advocates. "We are just so thankful the man had such a big heart and didn't just drive on by," Heather A., with the group, tells Waggle. "The man said the cat's leg was dangling; he was in such bad shape. The man didn't have the resources to care for the cat. It was a lot for him to take on. We are so grateful he contacted us, and we could help." One By One brought Espresso to the Proctorville Animal Clinic, and X-rays showed he suffered a devastating break in one of his back legs. "We're assuming he was hit by a car to suffer that kind of injury," Heather says. "Espresso has to have an operation where the surgeon will pin the bone so it will heal. Six to eight weeks later, the pin will be removed. Espresso is expected to do very well and will eventually be up for adoption." The group says they have so much to be grateful for this holiday season. They hope generous pet lovers will contribute to Espresso's campaign so he can get his surgery. "The resilience of animals to survive will never cease to amaze me," Heather adds. "I am thankful the man chose to stop in the rain to help an old cat. I'm so thankful Espresso is a fighter. The vet said he has not stopped purring and does everything in his power to catch their attention for head rubs and love. This is why we do what we do, to give an old cat a chance to recover and be loved. The hero didn't give up. Espresso didn't give up. We hope others won't give up on him and will donate."

Sam
Sam is an 11-year-old Maine Coon Mix in Worcester, MA, who needs $671 for Abdomen Ultrasound.
Worcester, MA
We found Sam living in our backyard when he was a kitten. His mother was pregnant with another litter and had pushed him away. Although his mother was friendly with people, Sam was skittish and fearful. We would sit in the yard and talk to him and hand feed him tuna fish to gain his trust. After we brought him inside, he was happy to be safe and loved and quickly became part of the family. Sam can be very chatty and will talk back if we talk to him. His favorite toys as a kitten were small foam balls. He would carry his balls around, bounce them, and bat them around the house. Sam's favorite toy now is his stuffed bunny that he hunts and then presents to us. Sam is a sweetheart who loves to lay with his mom or get petted by his dad. He wrestles with his brother Roo too. Sam is a smart cat! He has figured out how to open kitchen drawers, probably looking for his toys! He can also sit and shake for his treats. Sam is very affectionate and gives lots of head butts. When Sam was a kitten he would suck and drool on his mom's shirt. He now has one of his dad's old shirt as a lovey that he still drools on when he is feeling snuggly. His cat mom was a drooler too! Sam has always been a big cat, weighing 13-14 pounds. He recently lost a bit of weight quickly and we are trying to find out why. Our vets at VCA Abbot did routine lab work but need to do an ultrasound to find out what is causing the weight loss. He also has resorptive lesions on some of his teeth that may need treatment in the future. Sam's dad is currently out of work due to mental health issues. This has severely limited the family's income, making it hard to afford all of the veterinary care that Sam needs. We are heartbroken at the thought of not being able to provide the care he needs.

Sullivan
Sullivan is a 5-year-old Black Cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Jaw Surgery.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
A Good Samaritan contacted One By One Animal Advocates, saying Sullivan was a stray that lived around her house. The lady didn't notice anything for awhile until she picked Sullivan up and the smell of infection was so strong... that's when she noticed his jaw was crooked. One By One Animal Advocates immediately reacted and sent poor Sullivan to the vet. Despite being a stray, Sullivan is very sweet and not at all feral. He has adapted to living indoors quite nicely. The vet said he was approximately 5 years old and his injury is likely related to being kicked in the face and not hit by a car. Amazingly, he is still so sweet. Sullivan was also covered in fleas and had a heavy burden of intestinal parasites. Our vet treated for fleas, dewormed him, and checked his blood work. They had to hospitalize him on pain meds and antibiotics until he was stable enough for surgery, which he had on September 14th. Our vet said it was a very old fracture (so he had been living like that for some time!). He freshened up the fracture edges and drilled holes to accommodate a stainless steel wire. The fracture was aligned to near normal and stabilized with the wire. Sullivan's jaw alignment is a little off but that was from the original trauma and healing. Our vet felt that Sullivan would do very well once healed. However, our foster noted over the weekend that Sullivan's jaw did not look right and he wouldn't stop meowing despite pain meds! One by One sent him back to the vet for sedation and X-Rays. Unfortunately, the orthopedic wire had come loose so he had surgery #2 to remove the wire and install an orthopedic plate. Sullivan is being sent to his foster home on antibiotics, more pain meds, and has to eat watered down canned food. Please help One By One Animal Advocates pay the invoice for Sullivan's medical treatment. With your help, One by One will be able to continue rescuing cats just like Sullivan.

JJ
JJ is a kitten in Lancaster, SC, who needs $1,000 for pinpointing cause of extreme digestive issues.
Lancaster, SC • Lancaster SPCA
JJ was found by one of LSPCA's Board Members. We reported him as found to the county shelter and fostered him for the required 5-day stray hold. At first JJ had a great appetite and seemed healthy. He quickly developed stomach/digestive problems. JJ stands for Jackson, Jr. because just six months prior, the same Board member found an adult orange kitty with severe stomach issues, named Jackson. When he feels well, JJ is a superior biscuit-maker. He kneads everything and is a super-loving boy. It was easy to tell when he stopped feeling good because his loveable personality was gone. After determining that he did not have any communicable disease, he was paired with a playful kitten in hopes that would help his spirit. LSPCA has had an extraordinarily expensive year, specifically with extreme medical cases for the dogs and cats in our care. We are 100% volunteers and rely 100% on donations. Any help is appreciated. JJ is being treated by the local veterinarian. After determining that JJ's issue were not caused by worms or coccidia, they started a series of tests to determine why he is not thriving. they x-rayed his tummy to rule out a blockage. They did a barium series to track things moving through his digestive system. Most recently, they conducted a bile acid test, and we are awaiting results. JJ loves to be loved on! he wants all the petting, kissing, and chin-scratching. His first priority is affection, while his foster buddy's first priority was playing. Although JJ was much smaller than his foster buddy, he would sometimes have to stand up for himself when his friend got too rambunctious.

Cheddar
Cheddar is an Orange Tabby in Raleigh, NC, who needs $450 for Juvenile Cobalamin Deficiency.
Raleigh, NC • Carolina Cat Rescue
Cheddar and his twin Nacho could not be sweeter kittens. They had a terrible start to their little lives by ending up in a rural North Carolina shelter. But in April, they were saved by Carolina Cat Rescue and placed in foster care. Cheddar is a loving kitten who is a great snuggle buddy. He is a happy boy and successfully battled an upper respiratory after entering into our care. He was on the mend, but his foster mom started noticing that Nacho (his twin brother) was getting much bigger and Cheddar (although super hungry) was not gaining weight. We were not sure why he was hungry, eating like crazy, but staying the same weight. Cheddar is a special boy and we knew his situation was not normal. He was playful and happy but not growing and that was worrisome. We contacted our vet - Dr. Chris Kelly at Companion Animal Hospital and took him in for an exam. He was thin. His brother weighed 8 ounces more than he did and we needed to figure this out. Cheddar was tested for parasites and panleukopenia - both results were normal. The vet then suggested a mal-digestion profile to look for abnormalities in his digestive system. He also underwent a test for his pancreas. The tests results gave us the answer we needed - he has Juvenile Cobalamin Deficiency. His body is not absorbing vitamin B12. B12 is an essential vitamin for cats immune system, nervous system, digestive tract, for healthy cognitive function. Cheddar started receiving weekly B12 injections. He will need to undergo more testing to see if his body is able to absorb B12 from the food he eats. We are happy that we found out what was wrong & we could help him thrive. The test was costly but worth it to save his life. Please help Carolina Cat Rescue raise the money necessary to cover Cheddar's medical bill.

Kittles
Kittles is a three-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in El Cajon, CA, who needs $900 for hospitalization due to burns.
El Cajon, CA
Kittles narrowly escaped a brush with death, and now she needs your help. Her owner, Chelsea B., was just weeks away from having her second child when a horrible fire started at her house. When the searing heat from the flames broke a window in the home, Kittles managed to run out, but she was severely injured. "Kittles has burns on her face and all her paws," Chelsea tells Waggle. "She needs to get daily bandage changes (at the animal hospital) to help with her wounds. The vet said they are pretty bad." Sadly, Chelsea's other cat died in the fire. Chelsea and her seven-year-old child are safe but heartbroken. "Two years ago, I adopted two cats. I fell in love the moment I saw them. They loved to be next to me and cuddle and play with cat toys," Chelsea says. As Chelsea attempts to rebuild her life, she's struggling to pay Kittles' medical bills. "Right now, I am in financial hardship. We lost everything," Chelsea adds. "I am due in three weeks with a baby girl and trying to get all the baby items we lost. Helping my cat would mean the world to me. She is like my child."

Lil Lil Kitten
Lil Lil Kitten is a 10-year-old Domestic Longhair in Peoria, AZ, who needs $1,900 for surgery.
Peoria, AZ
Lil Lil Kitten and brothers were being nursed in the driveway of a vacant house. The owners moved and left them behind to fend for themselves. Eventually I was able to trap them intending to find forever homes. I had 4 cats of my own. Even with much handling and love, it was apparent that they were too feral. This was 10 years ago. It took 6 yrs. for Lil Lil to come around. Even now, Lil Lil Kitten is timid and must be approached slowly. Once near her, she let's me pet her and purrs like crazy! Even likes her belly rubbed. She loves her family, especially Mom but doesn't interact with the other pets. Is sure to talk to me when she wants to eat and doesn't miss a meal or treats. She is very good for her groomer although I don't think she likes her lion cut.😁 I have very limited finances with Social Security and a small retirement plan. I have been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's Syndrome and have spent the last few months having various tests and xrays performed. Copays are very expensive. After Lil Lil's last groom, I noticed a lump on her side. My visit to Dr. Ketcham at Fletcher Heights Animal Hospital revealed that the lump is a probable sarcoma and should be removed. The cost estimates for the procedures including needle aspirates with cytology and tumor removal and biopsy total $1900. A second opinion from Vistancia Animal Hospital was the same as Fletcher Heights. Lil Lil Kitten got her name from the black cat that I already had whose name was Lil Kitten. They looked almost identical. The only difference is that Lil Lil has white whiskers. The original Lil Kitten was a bottle baby that I took care of. She was without a name so was just referred to as Lil Kitten.

Fluffy
Fluffy is a 5-year-old Domestic short hair in Camden, SC, who needs $150 for general vet visit.
Camden, SC
I've had Fluffy since he was a kitten. We have been together for five years now. He's my everything. He's recently began having tummy issues and I want to take him to a vet for a check up but I have no money. I come from a low income family. I love my cat and I want what's best for him. And I just want him to feel better My cat is a chill cat but he brings positive vibes to our home he sleeps in the cutest positions and is always content. Every mirkmg he loves looking out the window at the birdies. You can never go to the bathroom alone as he will follow to see what you're doing and get some pets. Fluffy loves to play with bottle caps and pipe cleaners. I have no job because I have no transportation. I live with my mom and we only get 700 a month for income. A donation of $150 for a vet visit is all I need to help him feel better. Please help me Fluffy has always been an overall healthy kitty but recently he's been having stomach sensitivities and I want to take him to a vet for a check up but I do not have the funds. I am looking for a low cost vet clinic near me to take fluffy too. His health is very very important to me and I just want him to feel better My cat is a calm cat and his calmness eases my anxiety. He makes everyones day a better day with his happy attitude. Sometimes he'll kay on the floor and he'll just roll side to side while licking his paws. It is the cutest thing ever. My cat is an odd eyed cat. He has one green eye and one blue eye.

Whiskers
Whiskers is a 1-year-old Gray Short Hair in Raleigh, NC, who needs $500 for dermatitis.
Raleigh, NC • Carolina Cat Rescue
Whiskers was dropped off at a rural North Carolina shelter. He was very thin, his hair was sparse in spots, and he was covered in fleas and flea dirt. He immediately got a bath. Most cats hate baths but he tolerated it like a champ. I think he felt better getting the flea dirt off him. He seemed like a new cat. Whiskers is very loving and easy going. Whiskers is a foster cat and was placed in a room with another foster cat. He was so gentle and nice he won over the current foster cat right away. Normally, she hated other cats, but seemed to fall in love with him almost instantly. She groomed him and snuggled up next time and even though she was bossy, Whiskers just went along with it. Whiskers interactions with other cats is adorable. He is gentle and loving toward other cats. If another foster kitty would want to take his food, he just sat back and waited. He is playful with other cats, but also enjoys time just laying around on a sunny spot in the room. He is very loving towards humans. If I sat down, very shortly thereafter, he would be on my lap. Whiskers was doing great, but all of a sudden he started scratching himself uncontrollably. In the span of a few hours he went from a normal kitty to one who seemed miserable and itchy. We immediately called the vet and took in him for an exam. Since he came from a rural shelter, he could have been exposed to a number of parasites, fungus, or bacteria, so the vet tested for several conditions. He was placed on medication for his skin abrasions & itch. It took several months & vet appointments to figure out how to control his skin disorder. We are a small cat rescue and the bills quickly added up to $500. This is a big bill for us, but Whiskers is worth it. Please donate so that Carolina Cat Rescue can continue to save sweethearts like Whiskers!

Bandit
Bandit is a Domestic Shorthair kitten in Raleigh, NC, who needs $350 for urgent care.
Raleigh, NC • Carolina Cat Rescue
Bandit first came to Carolina Cat Rescue from a rural county shelter. He went to a foster home and seemed like he was doing well, then after his neuter surgery, he went downhill. "After a week after his operation, his foster noticed he wasn't eating as well, he seemed depressed, he had not gained weight in several days. She was trying to syringe feed him," Karie K., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "We were very worried." The rescue got Bandit to Companion Animal Hospital right away. The medical team ran many tests and eventually determined he had failure to thrive syndrome. There's no real treatment for the syndrome, but if Bandit continued not to eat, he would die. "Kittens who do not eat are in severe danger of low blood sugar, malnutrition, dehydration, and death," Karie says. So the rescue and Bandit's foster mom launched a full-on effort to push Bandit through. "We started him on a regimen of vitamins, baby food, fancy food, expensive food, canned food, anything to get him to eat," Karie adds. "We syringe fed him, gave him high-calorie supplements and fluids. It was touch and go." His foster mom is monitoring his weight and working hard to keep him alive. The nonprofit group is now hoping generous pet lovers will help donate to pay for Bandit's veterinary bills, including his tests, medications, and vet visits.

Bob
Bob is a 14-year-old Manx/Mainecoon mix in Baldwinsville, NY, who needs $227 for kidney disease treatment.
Baldwinsville, NY
My cat picked ME: I went to the local pound to see if there were any apartment appropriate dogs to THINK about adopting (there weren't), so on a whim I asked if I could just play with the kittens for a fuzz-buzz as I was leaving... they opened the door and this TINY little guy immediately jumped on my shoulder and started biting my hair! I submitted: Shoot, well I guess I'm getting a cat now!" Bob has been with us through 7apartments, New jobs, layoffs, health crises and disability, sometimes with roommates who had dogs (which my cat tolerated well but once cornered in the kitchen and wouldn't let her leave,) co-habitated with other cats... he was with me during my dad's coma and all the other good times and bad... he's been amazing and taken it all in stride. Just the cost of fluids and tubing ($130/mo),his new medications (133/mo), new special dry food ($28), new wet food $60) = $391/mo. I am disabled, only able to work part-time at a grocery store, and half my small income goes towards medical expenses. This is both an immediate need for funding for emerg. services rendered this week as well as help for on-going treatment he will need for the rest of his life. Bob has urinary crystals (prescription wet food) and he has an issue with periodic bowel blockages (3 medications and sometimes home enemas.) About $200/mo. Now he has kidney disease, so +3meds, Rx wet & dry food, and IV DAILY. Bob is TEACHABLE. Once we got him comfortable on a harness for outside we would tie him up. We hung some bells below the knob and he would "ring the doorbell" when he wanted to come in! He has no tail (well, a nub), and because of that he will sit up straight on his rear end (pouch expanding like a beer belly...) we call this his "jabba" pose. because he looks exactly like Jabba the Hutt!

Beanie
Beanie is a 1-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Blacksburg, VA, who needs $200 for Feline Lower Urinary Tract Infection and Rabies shot.
Blacksburg, VA
I started fostering Beanie earlier this year in February. I had recently gone to rehab because I had a suicide attempt in December of 2020. The day I brought Beanie home, I fell in love. How could I not adopt him? He is my rock and is unlike any cat I have ever met! I’m currently enrolled at Virginia Tech and live in a 2 bedroom with one other cat. Beanie has always been very healthy and vibrant Beanie LOVES people. It’s so unusual. The day I brought him home, he made himself right at home. It was obvious that my apartment was now Beanie’s apartment. He always so sweet and loving. He loves snuggles and belly rubs but his favorite is toe bean massages! He even loves other cats, it’s wild! I never imagined that I would get out of the darkness that I faced but Beanie makes it easy for me to wake up everyday, as I’ve struggled in the past to do that. He is there as much for me as I am for him. I’ve had car emergency expenses very recently, money is very tight. Beanie has been neutered and has all his required shots. He is due for his rabies shot in July though. He had a case of round worms around a month ago but that’s the only time he’s really been sick. I take him to Companion Animal Clinic in Blacksburg, Virginia. Beanie loves going to the vet there and they love having him. He likes to jump on the computer and play with the keyboard! Beanie is extremely special to everyone he meets! He loves to hangout and be loving to everyone he meets. He does this particular thing that we call “Beanie Kisses.” If you say “may I have a kiss” to Beanie, he’ll run right up to you and head butt you. It’s his way of telling people he loves them.he started doing it the day I brought him home and now it’s his signature way of telling u he loves u

Junior
Junior is a 12-year-old Domestic Shorthair in Tucson, AZ, who needs $1,055 for Extraction.
Tucson, AZ
Junior was meant for me. She was born 9/07/2008 to a girl i worked with whose cats were always having kittens. i already had 3 beloved cats but when she asked me if i wanted a kitten, something told me to say yes. When i went to choose a kitten, Junior came right up to me, started climbing me and purring. She was telling me she was mine and i was hers, and ever since we've had an incredible bond. Junior is so precious to our family especially to me. I love her so much as do all who meet her because she is so sweet and loving. Shes always on my lap or on my back and she sleeps in my bed. She loves to give head butts thats how she says "I love you." She is always spreading love-to our other 2 cats,to me and my roommate, to our friends. Shes famous for having the softest fur of all cats. Ive had health problems for the past year or so but it recently got to where i cantwork anymore so no more unemployment but soc.sec. takes a long time so i have no income. Darling Junior is suffering and must have these teeth pulled and it kills me that i cant pay. I NEEDHER In 2017 my orange cat was having bad breath and other mouth symptoms and ended up having stomatitis and had all his teeth pulled and a year later Junior got the same thing. She had most of her teeth pulled in 2018 but had about 4 left, and now it has come back affecting those teeth. She has trouble eating, has lost over 2 lbs,our vet said we need to pull them. i dont have pet insurance this time. When she was a kitten i taught her to walk on a leash and she loves that. She loves to be combed and brushed and groomed. She always comes when i call. Shes such an incredibly GOOD kitty, always uses her litter box properly and scratches where she should. When she wants attention she will take a paw and tap or gently scratch my arm and she talks(meows) when shes trying to tell me something,.

I nurse them back to health and found homes for all the kittens and the mom and I Tooney Tooney is very curious and loves to play. He loves for us to pet him And purrs so loud. Is very sweet and affectionate. He gets into everything but that's one of the reasons we love him so much. He always tries to catch a fish from the fish aquarium. He is quite and rarely meows, he isn't needy and just a happy go lucky kitten. Lost job due to covid. He has become a part of the family. He brings so much joy and life to our home. Hey deserves to have a longer life than what he has. He has been through so much already. We would love to see him running through the house And playing once again. Our home will never be the same with him gone Tooney Started to at different and we new something was wrong Because he was not acting normal. I took him to the emergency vetAnd they could not find anything wrong That I did not have the money to get lab work or x-rays done. So I am not sure what is wrongBut I really would like to save his life if if Tooney is very Adventurous and loves to play. He loves for us to pet him And purrs so loud. Luna
Luna is a 2-year-old Siamese Mix in Chino, CA, who needs $194 for medical costs.
Chino, CA
Starved, abonded and needing love. I am highly allergic to her but I did the best I could. Before I was able to TNR her, we had a covid scare and I had to cancel the appt. When I went to reschedule, she was already pregnant. She would not come inside for ANYTHING. She had the kittens on my patio and has been inside ever since. I did all the testing and got her fixed. we are low income & need help. She loves treats but is still weird around humans. We have come a far far way in the past 8 weeks with no choice but for her to be inside. This has needed trust on both sides for luna and us. She is more outgoing at night and is easier to play and interact with. Luna I believe was abused by her previous owners. She shows signs of it We are a family of 3, with an income of $30,000 annually. It was hard to just feed us and 3 kittens and an adult cat. We did what we needed to and cut things from our budget to make it work. However it took a toll. I hate to look for help but that is where I am. I do not know much of her past. All I do know is that she has had all the things she needs done and the kittens i adopted out and for Luna I have found a rescue to help adopt her out. Unfortunately, they are unable to help with the cost that has accumulated in 8 weeks. Luna tested - for Snap & has been fixed as well as all of her shots Luna came into my life when I was suicidal. It was a great distraction to see where and when luna would be back at the back door looking for some food or water. Luna before babies loves strings and bells, but she has gotten a bit more serious in her motherhood stage. Luna loves to hangout in the window, but only on sunny days when the birds are out. She tries to get them through the window.

Chester
Chester is a 8-year-old Domestic Short hair in AUBURN, ME, who needs $950 for Oral Surgery.
AUBURN, ME
I'd like to introduce you to Chester. He and his older "brother" live with myself and some family, as well as another cat, who just so happens to be his litter mate. I received Chester from my Mum as a foster, initially. But he bonded with my 1 yr old (at the time), Tecumseh. The sweetest bromance was formed and I couldn't split them up. They've been together ever since. Chester is a very shy and secretive cat. He avoids people and animals he doesn't know. It takes years for him to feel comfortable with someone. He only just started sitting in my lap, after 7.5 years of him being with me. But once he bonds with you, he gives all of himself to you, unconditionally and fully. While I have been able to save up enough to just barely cover the dental costs, the diabetes was unexpected. My savings will be cleaned out and I still need to have money to find my own place. Arthritis limits how much I can work. Chester and his brother grew up as indoor/outdoor country cats. They hunted mice, rabbits and birds. They ate fresh medicinal plants they found in the woods and fields. They ran and explored miles every day. Then four years ago, my circumstances changed and they have been strictly indoor since. Now, Chester has diabetes (Tecumseh not far behind) and both cats need the same $1k dental procedure. Chester will initially be very quiet and reserved around new people. But once he warms up to you and learns to trust you, he opens right up and will talk to you all the time. He will request attention with a *tap tap tap* of a soft paw on your shoulder, and a sweet *chirp* of "attention me?" He loves being brushed and will squash up against his brother to get between him and the brush. "Brush me!"

Lilith
Lilith is a 7-year-old Domestic Short Hair in Saint Petersburg, FL, who needs $600 for Dental, Extractions, Biopsy, Mass Removal.
Saint Petersburg, FL
Lilith came to my home after I moved to Florida from up north. I was alone here in FL and was looking for a friend. I went to a rescue and was looking for a kitten, but I heard a crash and looked over to see Lilith on the ground... She had fallen off the kitchen counter and didn't land on her feet... Turns out she had been abused by her previous adopter... So of course I decided to adopt! Lilith is a very happy kitty. She enjoys toy mice, laps, soft beds, and wet food. Her best friend is her 65lbs doggy sibling and she would rather have a good nap in your lap than anything else. Well... Except eat. She LOVES to eat. She eats, on average, 4 cans of 5 oz of wet food a day. She's got a hearty appetite. Lilith is one of the most sweet cats you'll ever meet. I lost my job of 7 years due to COVID 6 months ago. I found another job but at 1/8 the income. My other cat recently had to be let go after suffering from CKD and despite IV fluids and an ultrasound his bloodwork got worse. Lilith was my first cat in FL. She's my life... On Wednesday 04/14/2021 Lilith started to drool. The next day there was a little blood in the drool. She was seen at the Harmony Vet Care Tampa on Saturday the 17th of April and diagnosed with grade 4/4 dental disease and in need of almost full mouth extractions and an oral mass removal/biopsy. During this time she has never stopped eating like a champ! Lilith is a very special cat. She was severely abused by her original adopter. She was kicked so hard in the head she developed a brain bleed and subsequent brain damage. Thus, she is a very special gal! She's very clumsy and quite the space cadet. She will get zoomies and throw toys around the house randomly. With no rhyme or reason and never at the same time!

Peaches
Peaches is a ten-year-old Domestic Longhair cat in Huntington, WV, who needs $959 for a tumor removal.
Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates
Peaches, the comeback cat, needs your help. After facing nearly insurmountable health issues and surviving, she now has a suspicious growth in her mouth that needs to be removed as soon as possible. When One by One Animal Advocates first rescued Peaches this Spring, they were horrified by her condition. She had a massive infection that started around her eye. "We were just stunned. The entire side of her face was infected, and her skin was brown from dried blood. When the veterinarian sedated her to clean it up, he learned a good third of her face was eaten away from the infection," Heather A., with One by One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle. For the next week, just surviving was a challenge for Peaches. She was hospitalized in critical condition. "It was pretty touch and go. She only weighed three pounds. We did not know if she would live. She was so compromised, she was shutting down. Everything she had was going to fight that eye infection," Heather says. Incredibly, Peaches rebounded and fought off the infection. Her skin grew back, and so did her hair. "Now you can't even tell she had anything wrong! She feels better. She is not in pain. Now she is the most loving cat. We were so happy to see her recover," Heather adds. Then the nonprofit group got terrible news: Peaches has a fast-moving oral mass that just appeared. It needs to be surgically removed immediately at the Proctorville Animal Clinic and sent to pathology to determine if it is cancerous. One by One Animal Advocates relies solely on donations to pay for Peaches' medical care and for the care of all the other cats they save. They are hoping Peaches makes another comeback. "Getting the news about the mass in her mouth was really depressing after all she's been through," Heather says. "We rely on the generosity of the community and the Waggle community. If we don't have donations, we can't help. It would be terrible to see a cat suffering and say, 'We can't help.' We work on faith and hope that people will be as compelled to help Peaches as we are. The generosity of others is our lifeline."

Sora
Sora is a 7-year-old Domestic Long Hair in Fresno, CA, who needs $2,000 for Peritoneopericardial Diaphragmatic Hernia Repair.
Fresno, CA
Sora was found as a tiny kitten all alone in a bush when she was only a couple weeks old. I took her in right away and started bottle feeding her and nursing her back to health. We instantly had such a special bond and she has been a part of the family ever since. Sora and I share an apartment with two other kitties, Straggler and Trouble, both of which also have special medical needs. Sora brings such a special energy to our home. Living with her is very much like having a loving, human roommate. She tells me when she would like a snack or when she needs attention. She knows the sound of my car, and greets me in the window. She prefers to cuddle in the mornings when I am half awake, so once she hears my alarm goes off, she's right there, ready to lay on me and share a moment. Sora has always provided a special type of support for me. She has a keen sense for when my anxiety gets bad and lays on my chest and purrs to calm me down. She LOVES boxes, and no box enters our home without her getting to decide if we have to keep it or not. I know Sora loves me more than anything else, and will give visitors a side eye and only entertain them if they let her smell their shoes. Sora started having breathing episodes and was diagnosed with Asthma in 2019. In early 2020 she ended up in the ER from a bad episode. During this ER visit it was discovered that she has a Peritoneopericardial Diaphragmatic Hernia (PPDH). The combination of asthma and PPDH has led to countless trips to the ER and specialty vets. She is currently scheduled to have the PPDH repaired at UC Davis. Our household relies on only my income, and this has been a challenge through all of Sora's medical needs. The other two cats in the home have diabetes and kidney disease. I want to provide the best care for my kitties, and I will do whatever I can to give them the best life
