Angel is my 11-year-old neutered male domestic short-haired cat who lives with me in my home in Jamaica, Queens. He is an indoor-only cat and the older brother to my 4-year-old gray tabby. Angel is gentle, bonded to our household, and depends on me fully for his daily care. Angel was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism after bloodwork at Merrick Blvd. Animal Hospital in Jamaica, Queens. He is under the care of Dr. Djiodji Benissan, D.V.M. His thyroid levels were significantly elevated, requiring daily medication and repeat bloodwork to safely monitor his condition. Angel is my emotional support companion and a calm, loving presence in our home. As the older brother to my younger cat, he is patient and gentle. He follows me from room to room, sleeps nearby, and provides comfort, companionship, and emotional stability during stressful times. I am a college student with significant educational expenses and student loans, and I am currently unemployed. I am struggling to afford Angel’s ongoing bloodwork and medication. Support will allow me to continue his treatment and keep him stable, healthy, and comfortable.

She was missing an eye, and the delicate area had reopened and become painfully inflamed. On top of that, she was struggling with an upper respiratory infection that made every breath a challenge. But even through all of this, Isabella never stopped purring. Our team acted quickly to get her the urgent care she needed. Her eye area required immediate medical correction, and her respiratory infection needed prompt treatment to help her breathe comfortably again. Thanks to fast intervention, this brave little girl is finally healing and starting to thrive. Now, Isabella is blossoming into the bright, spirited kitten she was always meant to be. She plays, she cuddles, and she reminds us daily why rescue work matters. But as a small, foster-based rescue, Winter’s Grace Animal Rescue depends entirely on community support—and Isabella’s urgent care has created a significant financial strain. Recently, Isabella needed another revision on her eye after the area wasn’t healing as expected. The site was carefully sewn again, and she was started on additional medication to support healing. While her delayed healing remains a mystery, her current stitches are still in place and she’s being closely monitored. Despite these setbacks, Isabella remains playful, cuddly, and full of spirit. Yesterday, Isabella had her stitches removed — and the vet is thrilled with how everything looks. Her eye has healed up beautifully. There is no more pain, nothing left exposed, and no signs of complications. After everything this tiny girl has endured, it’s incredible to finally say that she appears to be fully healed. And her personality? Absolutely shining. Isabella is affectionate, confident, and full of love. She seeks out attention, reaches out to gently smack us when we walk by, and when she’s held, she snuggles right into your neck — sometimes even drooling a little in pure kitten bliss. Despite her rough start, she’s grown into a joyful, playful, deeply loving kitten who clearly knows she’s safe now. Sweet Scarface Didn’t Mean to Get Hurt 💔 Scarface is just a baby. Only a few months old. Cold, scared, and desperate for warmth, he crawled inside a car—never knowing it would change his life forever. When the car started, Scarface suffered serious trauma to his face and nose. The pain was immediate. The damage was severe. This tiny kitten was rushed for emergency care just to give him a chance to breathe, heal, and survive. When we were asked to help him, we couldn’t say no. How do you turn away a kitten who has already been through so much? What we weren’t prepared for was the medical cost that came with saving his life. Scarface required: • Emergency examination • Pain control • Antibiotics • Laser therapy • Ongoing treatment for his injured nose His vet bill came to $334.11, and that’s just for initial care. While the clinic was kind enough to apply discounts, the balance is still due—and more care may be needed as he heals. Scarface didn’t ask for this. He didn’t choose this pain. Ginger’s body tells a story of survival—years of abuse, neglect, overbreeding, and even being shot at. She’s battling heart failure from untreated heartworm, mange, arthritis, and two BB gun wounds that still show up on her X-rays. And yet, despite it all, she continues to fight, greet each day with hope, and trust the gentle hands that now care for her. Ginger is safe in an incredible foster home, but her medical needs are overwhelming. Her ongoing treatments, medications, and care costs are adding up fast—and we need your help to keep her fighting. Update 12/5/25 Ginger is still battling heartworm, but she's facing it like a warrior. She is on meds that keep her calm to be able to fight the heartworm. She has a home oxygen kit in case of an emergency. 1/5/26 Update Ginger will soon be going for her 5 heartworm injections that are desperately needed. Hopefully, our girl is strong enough to survive them. Her amazing foster mom has been taking phenomenal care of her. My beloved soulcat Ginger Pear has been diagnosed with heart disease. We don’t yet know which part of her heart is not functioning correctly. But I know that mine is broken. GP & I have been together since I first moved to the NoFo over 10 years ago. A former stray from the mean streets of Mattituck, she has supported me through Lyme disease, the pandemic & my mother’s untimely passing from Covid. Her diagnostics, including x-rays & blood work, have cost over $1,500 (the echocardiogram she had today cost $1,000). She will require compound medications on an ongoing basis. Due to her advanced age, she has also suffered from gastrointestinal problem over the past 2-3 years, treatment for which has cost thousands of dollars. She is being treated by Dr. Zangara at Roosevelt Animal Hospital. All of my life I’ve had cats (and one GSD named Great the Great) and i can honestly say that Ginger Pear is my soulcat. Although she has some ginger fur, she is named after the flavour of youghurt I fed her when I was walking home from the grocery store in Mattituck & saw her hiding under a neighbour’s car. She was too scared to let me pet her. Fast forward a decade & we now share the same pillow. As you may know, I am farmer with a seasonal income. I also suffered from severe neuro & cardiac Lyme disease for 8 years & was so sick I was unable to control my limbs or complete sentences, let alone work. Importantly, LD treatment is not covered by insurance. Do the math.

Recently, his symptoms worsened, and he returned to the veterinarian for further diagnostics, including an upper respiratory panel, culture, and senior bloodwork, to help guide the best treatment plan moving forward. Despite everything he’s endured, Dart’s gentle spirit continues to shine. Their staff lovingly call him an “A+ Biscuit Maker”—he kneads and purrs as if he’s never known pain. His calm, affectionate nature is a true testament to his resilience and trust. But Dart’s journey isn’t over yet. Meet the sweetest little soul named Ace. Early one morning, as the sun was rising, he was found lying on the side of the road—broken, covered in fleas, mange, and even ants. It’s likely he’d been hit by a car during the night and left there, scared, alone, and in pain. Thanks to CAMO's trusty rescuer named Bob, Ace was rushed to the ER, where X-rays revealed a completely fractured femur. His emergency visit alone cost $800, and the orthopedic surgery he now needs is estimated at $2,200. To make matters even harder, this sweet soul was also found to be heartworm-positive. Despite everything, he remains gentle and trusting—his tail still gives a small wag when someone shows him kindness. ❤️He’s fighting for a second chance at life, but CAMO can’t do it without you.
