Help Felix Walk Without Pain Again

Felix has already survived more than most cats ever should. For years, he lived outdoors in a cat colony, relying on kindness where he could find it. When the colony was threatened and the cats were in danger of being harmed, Paws 4 Life Animal Rescue stepped in — giving Felix safety, stability, and a chance at a life he’d never known before. That’s when everyone realized just how special this senior boy is. Felix is gentle, affectionate, and deeply bonded to other cats. He takes his thyroid medication like a champion, tolerates arthritis treatments with quiet grace, and finds his greatest comfort curled up in a warm pile of feline friends. After everything he endured outside, he finally felt safe. Then, a few weeks ago, something changed. Felix began favoring his back leg. He was rushed to the vet the very next day, where X-rays revealed devastating news: his hip was fully dislocated. This wasn’t arthritis progression — it was a painful injury that will not heal on its own. Felix now urgently needs a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) surgery — a procedure that will relieve his pain and allow him to walk, rest, and move comfortably again. Without it, every step hurts. This surgery is Felix’s chance to enjoy his golden years without suffering. His future depends on it. 12/25/25 Update: Surgery was a success! Felix got his Christmas Miracle on Christmas Eve! His FHO surgery went well and Felix is already walking around better. He has to go back in 4 weeks for a recheck which will determine whether he will need to go to rehab. 1/28/26 Update: UPDATE: Recheck from Felix’s FHO Surgery on Christmas Eve Felix has been on cage rest since his FHO surgery on 12/24. Yesterday, he had his recheck appointment with the surgeon and everything looks great and has now been cleared for normal activity! As he hasn’t really used that leg in months, that leg is weaker than it should be, so Felix will need to go Physical Therapy to start to get some of that muscle back. Today was his first session - he had some laser treatment and we worked on him standing and getting around on different types of services. We’ll keep you posted on his recovery! Thank you for helping him! 2/7/26 Update: Felix continues to heal with Physical Therapy! Felix just finished his 2nd PT appointment and is doing well. The doctors are happy with the progress he has made since last week’s PT appointment. As he didn’t use that leg in a few months, we need to help him get muscle and strength. Back in that leg. Thank you for following his journey! 2/20/26 Update: Felix continues to make progress! Felix is doing so well with his physical therapy which include laser treatment and physical therapy exercises. We are working hard at getting Felix to gain back some muscle that he lost:( Thank you for everyone that has supported him ❤️ 2/28/26 Update Felix has now completed about four physical therapy sessions following his Christmas Eve FHO surgery — and we are so happy to share that he continues to gain strength in his leg. After months of not using that leg prior to surgery, rebuilding muscle has been one of the biggest goals of his recovery. With consistent laser treatments, guided exercises during PT, and a dedicated at-home routine between appointments, Felix is making steady progress. We have a series of exercises we work on with him at home to help strengthen that back leg and improve his balance and flexibility. And it’s paying off. The most exciting update? Felix can now jump up onto the couch on his own! For a senior boy who once took every step in pain, this is huge. Seeing him move more confidently — choosing to climb up next to his favorite people and feline friends — is exactly why this surgery and continued rehab were so important. Felix still has additional therapy sessions ahead, and ongoing rehabilitation is essential to help him regain as much muscle and long-term stability as possible. Physical therapy, follow-up care, and continued monitoring all come with costs that add up quickly for a small rescue caring for medically complex cats. Today, he’s doing exactly what he always deserved to do: resting comfortably, moving without pain, and enjoying life alongside the people and feline friends he loves. Pierre
A New Year, A New Hope for Pierre

After every New Year’s Eve, countless dogs are left lost and terrified, and found miles away from home in fear from fireworks, unsure of what comes next. This is exactly what happened to four-year-old Pierre. Just days into the new year, Pierre was found lying injured on train tracks near McAllen, TX. Despite being microchipped, his family has not responded, so CAMO Rescue stepped in to give him the care he urgently needed. Pierre was suffering from severe jaw trauma that required immediate, lifesaving surgery, which he has already undergone. Unfortunately, the damage goes far beyond a simple fracture. He is dealing with TMJ complications and currently has an external fixator that will need ongoing adjustments. In total, Pierre will need three separate surgeries to fully repair the trauma he’s endured. Between emergency care, diagnostics, CT scans, and surgeries, his medical costs have already run the rescue into the thousands. While Pierre is recovering well, his journey is far from over. He will need months of intensive therapy and specialized feeding to help his jaw heal and regain normal function. We are fully committed to giving this sweet boy every chance at a pain-free life! Duncan
Duncan is a 11 year old Beagle in Geneva, OH, who needs $20 for Cystocentisis for Urine Tests.

Duncan was most likely dumped by his owners and found as a stray by a kill shelter in Southern Ohio. He was given no medical attention at the overcrowded shelter and came to us with a number of aliments including Lyme disease, hypothyroidism, liver issue, high blood protein, rotting teeth and a rare parasitic worm that infested his sinus cavities. Now, as a ages, Duncan's heart is enlarging and he has developed kidney disease. We need to perform a cystocentisis to get a sterile urine sample to check on the state of Duncan's kidneys. One of the kindest canines we’ve ever taken in, Duncan exudes sweetness in all he does. With all that he's been through, he doesn’t let anything get him down. He loves attention, loves to be held and loves to be petted. Duncan is also wonderful with the other dogs at the Sanctuary and has many canine friends. Duncan’s soulful eyes and his willingness to learn new things are what makes this boy special. His charming ways just pull people in and they can’t but smile when he’s around. As a registered nonprofit animal sanctuary, NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to help pay for the medical expenses of the animals in their care. A beauty with brindle markings encasing his back like a pair of wings, Boomer is 38 pounds of easygoing congeniality. Adding to his physical charm is the touch of blue, twinkling like a star in the iris of one eye, hinting paws-ibly at a celestial background. Picture a Whippet with floppy ears and that’s Boomer! But those floppy ears are prone to ear infections and when all the traditional medications failed to work, it was time to advance to the long lasting ear ointment that must be administered at the vet hospital. Always eager to pose for photos, Boomer is a particularly faithful friend and companion to the larger hounds here at the Sanctuary. Although he’s usually quiet, he’s prone to excitability in new situations. For this reason, he fares best when he’s with another hound for rides in the car and at vet appointments. Knowing little about his past, his age or his health status, we welcomed Boomer to the Sanctuary since he needed to be with people who were highly experienced with sighthounds. As a registered non-profit animal sanctuary, NE Ohio Greyhound Rescue relies on donations to help cover the costs of medical care. My baby boy, Amari, was rescued thrice within 2020-2021. Once from a backyard rescue operated independently by a local older woman, second by my aunt through FaceBook, and thirdly by me due to her neglect. I’ve had this incredibly sensitive and non confrontational boy since he was 3wks old. His mother was with him upon initial adoption and I couldn’t leave her. Both 6yrs old just about and bonded. I’m pleading for your financial and emotional support due to an emergency vet visit I coordinated Sunday, March 1st,2026. The previous day, Saturday, I took notice of a rapid change in Amari’s eye color. It turned out to be Anterior Uveitis. Took $320 to get that answer, but he is not in the clear. I anticipate this taking repeating visits, but one thing at a time. A check-up is due March 8th. Amari has always been a sensitive, kind, and extremely patient soul. He’s been more than I deserve, and I’ve told my own family this truth. He, his mother, and I have been through so much turmoil including 4 moves, and also blessings. How can I express how unique he is? From a preference of being spooned at night, to popping catnip bubbles by day, and trilling at how much he loves me in between. I’m a person who tries to be the best I can, but life has beaten on me. I’ve gone from making great money-to making none. And that’s where I’m at now. I’ve been w/out a job for a year living with my grandparents along a Hwy in which I can’t walk to a job. A tricky situation.

Colby Jack came into my life as a tiny kitten and became my soulmate. He is a loving ginger boy who is the heart of our Houston home. We’ve been inseparable through every high and low; I truly cannot imagine life without him. He is more than just a pet; he is my best friend. He lights up every room and always knows how to comfort me. Now that he is in a crisis, it is my turn to be his hero. This is a life-or-death emergency. Colby Jack has a severe urinary blockage and is re-blocking tonight. He is in extreme pain, straining and passing bloody urine. Without immediate hospitalization and surgery at an ER like VEG or VERGI, he will not survive the night. I have exhausted my savings on his first treatment and am at a total financial breaking point. Please help me save his life. Colby Jack is one of a kind. He is a "talker" who chirps for treats and follows me from room to room like an orange shadow. He has a magical way of knowing when I need a hug. Even tonight, while in pain, he is still showing his sweet spirit by grooming and looking to me for reassurance. He is a brave, gentle soul who deserves the chance to grow old. We just need this one chance to get him healthy. I am facing an unexpected, sudden major expense with no emergency fund left. After spending my savings on Colby Jack’s first treatment, this re-block has left me in a catastrophic financial position. Getting him healthy again would mean the world to me; he is my entire world

Milkshake is a sweet 3 year old norwegian forest cat who is the heart of our little family. We adopted him when he was 16 weeks old, and he's been our little everything ever since. My 8 and 11 year old boys adore him. He's their best friend and their comfort. Milkshake is the sweetest, loving most patient boy. He is honorable, and full of personality. We can't imagine life without him. Yesterday, Milkshake nearly died from another urinary blockage, his third in less than a year. He suffers from feline lower urinary tract disease and feline idiopathic cystitis. These conditions cause painful inflammation and cause crystals to form in his bladder. These crystals form urethra blocks in male cats. He's been on prescription urinary food since his first block in May. We give him bottled water and make sure he is stress free. Despite this, the crystals returned and he blocked again. This past weekend we had a snowstorm in Pennsylvania. I noticed he wasn't feeling well. He was straining in the litter box, and crying. I was worried I wouldn't be able to get him into the vet with the storm. Luckily, I was able to get him BluePearl ER with the help of a few very generous souls, but arrived to find a "closed until 8 PM sign" on the door. During the drive there, he felt cold, his breathing was shallow, I thought I was losing him. I sat outside despite the closed sign. Thankfully, a kind employee saw us and let us in. They took him back right away. Forty five minutes later, the vet told me he'd been unblocked, but he was in critical condition. His potassium level was an 8, elevated kidney values, and his heart rate was drastically slowing. The doctor acted fast and saved his life. I am beyond grateful. But now he needs continued hospitalization, about 4 days on IV fluids and a catheter to flush his system, monitor his vitals, and prevent another block. His bladder was full of crystals, and without this extended care, he'll block again soon. Milkshake needs perineal urethrostomy surgery to widen his urethra and prevent future blockages. This is a common procedure for male cats with FLUTD. Right now, this hospital stay is very much needed, but the costs are too high for me to manage alone. We've already faced multiple ER visits hospitalizations, and treatments since his first block in May 2025 in Florida. He was diagnosed at VEG in Boynton Beach, and thru the kindness of a compassionate doctor there, he was able to get milkshake transferred to Peggy Adams in West Palm Beach for 5 days of care. We've done everything right with diet and love, but this condition is ongoing until he gets the surgery he needs. My boys would be heartbroken losing milkshake. Milkshake is a fighter, only 3 years old, and he deserves more time here. All donations go directly to BluePearl for his care. Every bit helps cover the IV, catheter, monitoring, meds, and hospital stay. If we can get him through this episode and toward surgery, he might live a full life. My little Cindy was adopted 10 years ago from Best Friends Animal Society. She is a feisty little chihuahua terrier mix. She loves taking walks, pup cups, snuggles, and her little squeaky toys. She turned 12 in July but I still remember her as the little 2 year old I adopted. Her little face has turned white with age and most of her days are spent sleeping but to me she is my baby. Today Cindy was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Out of 6 she is a 5, which is very serious. Chihuahuas are prone to dental issues and Cindy has dental problems which may have been the cause of her heart murmur. Dr. Anderson of the Fillmore Animal Hospital in Fillmore Ca. suggest that she gets her teeth removed to prevent the murmur from getting worse. Cindy’s best friend is my husband Peter. Every time he comes home she gets so excited, she runs to him and does her little dance waiting for her little pats. She can be grumpy with other dogs but is kind to her cat siblings. Even though she is tiny she is a mighty protector as long as fireworks aren’t going off, she hates those. She is a huge part of our family and we love her so much. While my husband and I both have full time jobs money is tight with bills, college expenses, and a mortgage. We are not at a place right now to be able to afford a large expense suddenly. The procedure needs to be done as soon as possible so saving for it is not possible.
Shock

At only 3 weeks old Shock came to us with his siblings and mom after being left in a crate in front of the HQ building for the rescue I worked for. We took the whole family in as a foster family and ended up falling in love with him, so naturally he joined our family of 6 at the time. He’s been the sweetest, most loving cat, and we really don’t know what we’d do without him. Shock has gone through it, recently he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, pemphigus Complex, which is an umbrella term for a group of diseases that cause his body to attack the top layer of his skin. Shortly after we got that under control Shock started showing signs of a urinary blockage. We rushed him to the vet where he spent the next 5 days being in the hospital. Shock is the most loving well rounded kitty I’ve ever met. He hasn’t met a soul, human or animal, that he hasn’t become friends with. The vet staff hes met love him, and so does anyone else who has the pleasure of meeting this little guy. He loves to play, he loves to soak in the sun, and especially he loves his cat trees. 5 days in the hospital, one being an overnight at an emergency clinic, adds up. The total bill equals almost $1000, which is a huge unexpected expense, especially after having to spend so much to get the autoimmune disease diagnosed and treated. Any help would be appreciated
