Esther

* CAMO Rescue * Esther, a senior dog estimated to be around fifteen years old, was found struggling in 100 degree temps on the streets of Fulshear, Texas, in a HEARTBREAKING state of neglect. She was barely even recognizable as a dog, she was SO matted! Abandoned and barely clinging to life, she was brought to the Fort Bend Shelter. For YEARS she had suffered, her health now hanging in a precarious state. This sweet girl was starved, and weak, each movement a strenuous effort. She was more than just thin; she was skeletal. When she was found, she didn’t know what to do, not knowing how to hunt for food or seek shelter! She just sat there on the side of the road, trembling and pleading pitifully for help. Her previous owners had clearly neglected her. Due to a lack of proper medical care Esther now suffers from double cherry eyes and bilateral corneal ulcers, leaving her in constant pain and with severely impaired vision. Her dental health is equally dire, with many missing teeth and the remaining ones severely infected. Her biggest health is a HUGE bladder stone that is obstructing her ability to urinate without pain. She needs a $2000 surgery to remove the stone. Animalluvr's Dream Rescue At only 5 weeks old, this tiny girl has already been through so much. Svetlana was a rescue please from a local shelter that knew she needs extra care. Svetlana has a suspected spinal cord injury and no movement in her back end, but she is deep pain positive. Right now, she is in medical foster and we will learn more after she is evaluated by one of our amazing vet partners. We are still waiting for her treatment plan but one thing we do know it will not be cheap. No matter what, we are determined to give sweet Svetlana every chance at a healthy, happy life. * Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge * Phineas took a horrifying ELEVEN-story plunge from a window, shattering one of his legs. Then his day got even worse! His human family took him to an animal hospital and surrendered him. The staff contacted our Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge team, asking for help. Everyone here at the rescue has no idea how he fell but his poor leg appears to have taken the full impact. The veterinarian also discovered Phineas has entropion eyelids; his lashes turn inward, painfully scratching his cornea, which could cause him to go blind. We're working to fix him up the best we can with surgery for his eyes and leg. But we need help raising the money for all his care. We were shocked to hear Phineas' story but learned that cats are truly incredible survivors—and have been reported to survive falls up to 20 stories (200 feet). We are glad this unbelievable phenomenon allowed Phineas to survive, but we can't imagine his terror throughout this ordeal. Thankfully, Phineas is now safe and comfortable (on pain medication) as he awaits surgery. With you by our side, we can promise him a future as a spoiled, beloved, adorable cat. Adopt A Cat Foundation Mel was found roaming outside; with a tipped ear, it was clear she was a stray who has spent her life on the streets. A community cat advocate and trapper found Mel and immediately knew this sweet soul was meant to have a forever home. Mel is so friendly and sweet, the advocate brought her to Adopt A Cat Foundation to be adopted. However, upon examination, it was clear that something wasn't quite right. Mel is suspected to have FIP or cancer and requires an ultrasound to determine exactly what is going on. Treatment options will be discussed once the vet has a diagnosis. Despite the pain and discomfort she must feel, Mel is still the sweetest and quick to make biscuits! Adopt A Cat Foundation is committed to the rescuing of homeless and abused cats and placing them in loving forever homes. It was love at first sight when I discovered Tinkerbell’s photo on the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue site in 2012. We’ve been together ever since. Tinkerbell is the name that KAR gave her, and as it is so fitting for her, as she has a tendency at times to both traipse and flit about. Unlike her sister, she has no devilry in her and has not once misbehaved in the time that we’ve been together. Presently, she is a patient of Magrane Pet Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. She has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, but so far that disease is in a non-worrisome part of her heart. She has inflammatory bowel, but her last intestinal scan showed no worsening. She has high blood pressure and needs it checked again. And she’s having some symptoms that could indicate a thyroid or other problem. Like I said, she is extremely pure of heart. And she is beyond sweet. Sometimes she sleeps with me throughout the night, and we always have love time each morning when I’m drinking my coffee. (Please note that she also needs blood work.) I recently lost my only source of income and have disabling neurological problems. I have to relocate for medical reasons, and so far the job I’ve found is very part-time and doesn’t pay until the end of the month. Social Security Disability is going to take six months.
Emmy

* For the Love of Street Dogs * No one knows what pure hell Emmy endured before For the Love of Street Dogs saved her from the brink of death. She encountered humanity at its worst. "Emmy was found with an unidentifiable substance on her face and parts of her head and body shaved," Manuela S., with the rescue group, tells Waggle. "A clear case of abuse; For the Love of Street Dogs knew they had to help this sweet soul that had been through so much." Emmy is hospitalized, receiving compresses on her face, pain meds, IV fluids, and antibiotics. The mystery substance is starting to break off, but it is a very slow process. She is now able to open her eyes, and her veterinarian found they're damaged from the abuse she suffered. Emmy didn't want to eat, so she received a feeding tube to ensure she got enough calories and nutrition. "Despite everything this poor girl has been through, she is still an absolute sweetheart," Manuela says. "She loves cuddles, pets, and even makes biscuits. Her resilience is astounding." For the Love of Street Dogs works to build a community where people value animals and treat them respectfully and kindly. Emmy is a heartbreaking case, but they are determined to provide all the care she needs to be healthy, no matter the cost. Please help the nonprofit group rehabilitate Emmy so she can live the rest of her life knowing only love and care! Update - a week after hospitalization Her o2 stats are good, she had a feeding tube placed so we can make sure she gets nutrition, she is not eating enough. She has been sedated today so she was so very tired. They did remove some of the substance out of her nose. It’s hard on her, this lil sweet thing did not deserve this. No animal should ever endure what Emmy endured and still has to endure. Once she can eat right on her own things will look up for her. Update 8/5/24: Emmy's ET tube is out! She has gained weight and her wounds are healing nicely. She's still recovering but overall Emmy has made immense progress. Update 8/10/24: Emmy continues to do well! Her wounds are healing nicely and much of her fur has grown back. She is even off all medications! She is such a sweet, beautiful cat and we are so happy she has made such progress. We are hopeful she will be ready for her forever home soon.
Belyash

Big Little Life Animal Rescue was the last lifeline Belyash had! The dog was discovered along a road, gravely injured in a hit-and-run crash. "An elderly man moved him to safety near an industrial plant and called a nearby veterinary clinic, only to be turned down," Irina V., with the rescue, tells Waggle. For weeks, Belyash lay immobile in his urine and feces, crying in agony from untreated injuries as if his life meant nothing. "Workers fed him occasionally, but his suffering continued until we received a distress call from one of the employee's wives," Irina says. The group picked up Belyash and rushed him to a veterinary clinic. "He was diagnosed with multiple fractures in his pelvic area and severe infections causing sepsis," Irina says. "His wounds, worsened by neglect, required immediate surgery to stabilize his condition." Belyash needs ongoing observation and is in critical condition. "We are determined to provide him all the care he requires, and your help makes it possible," Irina says. Please give to help Belyash during his healing journey. Your support is vital for his recovery! Update: Belyash has made it through surgery. It was a long, complicated procedure, which involved reconstructing his pelvis. It was performed by a local specialist, who spent hours working on Belyash in the operating room. The surgeon is hopeful that, with appropriate rehabilitation, he will eventually be able to walk again. Belyash is a sweet, loving boy who has never known love or care. Despite his suffering and pain, he seems to understand that we are trying to help him. His eyes are full of gratitude and love, and he gives sweet kisses to the volunteer who cares for him. Belyash is currently in the critical stages of rehabilitation, and the first results are already visible. His digestion is starting to get back to normal, showing that his body processes are restarting. Please stand with us and help us pay for his surgery and rehab. This boy deserves a chance.

I rescued Carlton from a not so good environment, she is a sweet girl. When I found her she was hanging by one leg on a fence, my neighbor and I got her free and she ran, my 12 year old shitzu/schnauzer "Sammi" found her under our porch and I brought her in, needless to say she needed medical attention, she has been to my local vet, but due to insufficient funds I am asking for help with vet costs Carlton needs x-rays and shots and medication.navarre animal hospital is where I take my pets. In order to save her leg she needs medical attention. Thank you. Carlton is very gentle and fits right in my home. She had no problem with my dog and just wants to be loved. I believe God brought her to me for a reason. I am a full time college student at age 49. I don't get much financial aid for living cost or emergency situations. I only receive enough for schooling and book costs.
Pete
Pete is a 5 year old American Shorthair in Iowa Park, TX, who needs $250 for Various Labs.

Pete was a stray at my work but after a wicked ice storm and two hungry stray dogs playing tug of war with him, my husband and I took him in. He is strictly inside and almost immediately started gaining weight. He used to be very vocal, playful and would sleep with us but over the last couple of months, all those things have subsided. Pete went to P.E.T.S. in Wichita Falls, TX recently for his vaccines, and they were concerned with his rapid weight loss. He is showing signs of being lethargic, begging for food even after feedings and going through a lot of water daily. They are concerned he is diabetic and wanting to run some tests before an official diagnosis. Pete used to have a lot of energy, even weighing 22lbs! He would chase the laser light and play with any toys we bought. Now he is down to 14lbs and has no energy. He is either sleeping or eating/drinking. He used to lie with my husband as his ESA but prefers to sleep elsewhere now. He is not the same cat we brought home, and he is very missed. My husband and have had some unplanned financial situations come up, and the cost for bloodwork is out of our range. We want nothing more than to get Pete back to himself and loving so this is why we're asking for your help. He has had a very rough life and deserves it.
