Jerry

Jerry is a 7 year old Poodle in Murphy, TX, who needs $2,000 for FHO and Mylegram.

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

Three long weeks ago, Jerry was found in a desperate and heartbreaking state—dragging himself on the ground after being attacked by a large dog. For three agonizing weeks, this poor boy suffered without the ability to walk, enduring unbearable pain because his finder couldn’t afford the surgery he so desperately needed. Today, there’s hope for Jerry, but we need your help to make it happen. Dr. Hanson, our trusted orthopedic vet, has assured us that with a $3,500 surgery and a myelogram, Jerry has a real chance to walk again. This sweet pup is currently at the orthopedic vet, finally receiving the care he’s been waiting for. His surgery deposit was $1,600, and we are determined to raise the rest to give him the life he deserves. Together, we can give Jerry the second chance he deserves Jerry’s journey has been long and painful, but it doesn’t have to end this way. He can walk again, live pain-free, and experience the joy of simply being a dog. Please consider donating to Jerry’s surgery and recovery fund. Every dollar will go directly toward his medical care, and no contribution is too small. CAMO Rescue, a 501(c)3 nonprofit specializing in saving small breeds with the greatest medical needs.

Honey

Sweet Honey had to endure TWO surgeries - can you please help us with the cost?

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

Honey was brought into the Fort Bend shelter in unbearable pain and suffering from a fractured pelvis that left her unable to move without agony. CAMO Rescue, a 501c3 small breed rescue that saves the most needful, neglected, and those with the greatest medical needs, then stepped up and rescued her from the Shelter due to her injury. She was taken to their vet, so they could look at her fractured pelvis. But when the doctors began evaluating her, they found she had a severe case of pyometra. Pyometra is an infection in her uterus that had swollen her stomach and filled up with pus. Her uterus was on the verge of rupturing, and had CAMO not intervened, she would have died within a week. This infection could have been prevented if Honey had been spayed, so it's important to get your dogs spayed so they don't have to endure this awful infection and possibly death. Fortunately, she underwent emergency surgery to remove the infection. The cost for Honey’s care has mounted quickly. Between the emergency surgery for the pyometra and the potential operation on her pelvis, CAMO rescue is facing an enormous medical bill. We desperately need your help to give Honey the fighting chance she deserves. If you can, please donate today to help us save Honey’s life. She’s been through so much, and this sweet girl deserves to know a life free from pain. Every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for your compassion and support. *Update 1/29: After being at the hospital for about a week, Honey has completely recovered from her pyometra and pelvis fracture surgeries and her temperature is back to normal. Thankfully, Honey has now been adopted and can start living her best life! But we still need your help to cover the large cost of these surgeries. We are so grateful for your continued support!

Tragedy Strikes Again: Help Charlie Face Yet Another Catastrophe

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Almost a year ago, Charlie endured severe cruelty when his heartless owner left him tied to a car and drove off, dragging him along for miles. Despite his harrowing ordeal, Charlie has shown incredible resilience and has been nursed back to health after undergoing multiple surgeries and rehabilitation. However, just 2 days ago, he took a sudden turn for the worse. From being his usual happy self, Charlie started showing signs of pain and difficulty walking, eventually becoming unable to move without crying out in distress. Desperate for answers, D&A Animal Rescue rushed Charlie to an emergency veterinary hospital, who determined that he needed immediate specialist care. After being transferred to the specialist, Charlie underwent a CT scan that revealed a slipped disc, requiring surgery to restore his mobility. While D&A has already spent $3,000 on tests and transfers, the cost of the necessary surgery and post-operative care is estimated to be an additional $4,000. Charlie has been through unimaginable suffering but has never lost his gentle and loving nature. D&A Animal Rescue is devastated and determined to provide Charlie with the care he desperately needs. Please consider donating to help Charlie get back on his feet!

Mitzi Everest

Mitzi Everest is healing from surgery and needs your help to cover the cost!

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

Found limping and in a world of pain deep in Texas, Mitzi was hanging on by a thread and in so much pain she could hardly bear it for much longer. Given that she was only about a year old...her situation was devastating. Her gentle nature tells us she belonged to someone once, but where those people are now, we don’t know. We also have no idea how she got injured—maybe that’s why she was abandone Sadly, it wouldn’t be the first time someone has dumped an animal as soon as they became anything less than perfectly healthy. We took Mitzi in, determined to give her the second chance she deserves. We brought her to the hospital, where X-rays revealed the true extent of her injuries: she needs a double MPL (medial patellar luxation) surgery. This is a complex and costly procedure, estimated at $2,700 plus the cost of medications. Without this surgery, Mitzi will continue to struggle with pain, unable to run, walk, or play like a happy young dog should. This sweet girl has so much life left to live, and we’re committed to giving her that chance. But we need your help to make it happen. Will you help Mitzi walk again? Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward her surgery and recovery. Together, we can ensure she gets the care she needs to live a full and joyful life. CAMO Rescue is a 501c3 small breed rescue that saves the most needful. *Update 1/29: From Mitzi's foster: "Mitzi had her surgery, and she is doing wonderful! She is learning to walk slowly and regain strength in her legs. Mitzi is doing great! She’s walking great and doing her exercises from the ortho vet. She’s a happy girl!" Thank you for your continued support to help pay for her surgery!

Frito

Frito is a 7 year old Miniature Schnauzer in Murphy, TX, who needs $1,800 for Heartworm Treatment and Broken Leg.

Murphy, TX • CAMO Rescue

After being found unresponsive and barely moving in someone’s yard, this boy was picked up and brought to the shelter where he was given a number of days to live. _ The staff at the shelter weren't sure what happened to him but discovered he had a broken leg and a severe infestation of heartworm. We don't know how the break happened, but given his proximity to the road, it's likely that he was hit by a car and then dragged himself off the road in a lot of pain. The pain was so intense that Frito couldn't move, leaving him vulnerable and suffering. CAMO Rescue pulled him from the shelter, got him into foster care, and are now preparing a treatment plan for him. We need help for surgery for his leg, if that's the case, we will make sure he gets it. Your support can help CAMO provide the necessary medical attention to ease his pain and give him a chance at a healthy, happy life. Please donate today to help Frito receive the care he desperately needs. Daysi is a 3-year-old Mix in Magnolia, TX, who needs $2,000 for Hip Surgery.

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Daysi is still recovering from her time as a stray and it is devastating to think about what she must have endured. She is terrified of everything and her behavior indicates she was abused in the past. D&A Animal Rescue found her starving and trying to keep her remaining young puppies alive as some had succumb to nearby traffic. Daysi was extremely difficult to catch and stayed as far away from humans as possible. Daysi is slowly learning to trust the rescue caretakers but is still petrified. D&A has been nursing Daysi back to health, providing her basic veterinary care and making sure she gained weight. However, on a recent trip to the vet, it was discovered that both of Daysi's hips are severely damaged and require surgery. Her right hip is so bad it is frequently popping in and out of the socket. After a life of suffering, D&A is committed to providing Daysi with all the care she needs to live a happy, pain-free life. Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Cafecito was found scared and abandoned in deplorable conditions. With no food or water and among filth and trash, he was left with another puppy to fend for themselves. D&A Rescue couldn't believe the horrible existence these puppies were in and knew they had to step in and help. They found the puppies emaciated, dehydrated, and infested with fleas and worms. On top of that, Cafecito, was missing an entire paw and several toes on another paw. Despite having such a hard start to life, Cafecito has nothing but love to give! He is enjoying being regular a puppy and learning how to play with toys as well as beg for attention. Cafecito has a long journey ahead to return to full health. D&A is following their vet clinic's recommendations to get the puppies stabilized. Cafecito is in medical foster care being treated for fleas and worms and slowly gaining weight. Once he regains some strength, he will require numerous veterinary visits. D&A is dedicated to saving animals even when the road to recovery will be extensive and difficult. Kountze, TX

We got our dogs from my cousin, we have one named lobo and Max they are twins dogs, I had my babies since 2017, It was my parents that named them, reminded them of their dogs when they were in Mexico. Max is the kindest dog you will meet he loves to be with the family, he’s very playful or just sometimes just chilling outside making big holes to sleep in he loves them, he loves food so much it’s his favorite time of the day meal time haha he just turned 6 this November baby Max. He loves his twin brother lobo, Max always following where lobo goes if his brother pees in a tree he will do it after him. He also loves his bones he would grab them and start digging a hole to bury it and it’s funny the way he starts looking for it then forgetting where he leaves it. He stopped eating about 3 days ago and when I tried to feed him his favorite food he didn’t want it which I became concerned so immediately took him to the Neighborhood Veterinary Center in Nederland, they took him in and then Dr. Sara Bercier DVM. Said the he had a bad infection of heart worms and some toxins in him so they took him in I spent already 1,218 and they told me he’s only doing as much as possible to save him they want him to stay there for few more days and they said it will be 577.28 a day. It was a major expense and I don’t have credit and I’m doing the best I can to save him I love my baby.

Magnolia, TX • D&A Animal Rescue

Daysi was spotted living under a worn down trailer located near a busy road. She had clearly just given birth to puppies and was underweight, filthy, and extremely scared. D&A Animal Rescue knew how important it was to save Daysi and her puppies. They rushed there to find that half of Daysi's puppies were hit by cars and didn't make it. Determined to save the rest of the family, D&A spent days returning to the scene. Daysi was petrified of every sound, movement, and person who came near. She was determined to protect her puppies which made catching her even more of a challenge. D&A persevered and returned to the trailer day after day. Eventually, they were successful and caught Daysi and all of her puppies. D&A immediately took all of the dogs to a veterinary clinic for thorough examinations. Daysi will need continued care as she heals both physically and emotionally. Daysi will require close monitoring as she tries to put on weight while caring for her puppies; once she is healthy enough, she will be able to basic care such as vaccinations. Daysi deserves a life without constant fear and worry. Please consider donating and helping D&A Animal Rescue as they support Daysi during her journey to becoming a healthy, happy dog.

Sheena's past is a bit of a mystery. She was spotted wondering as a stray near an extremely busy highway. Luckily, D&A found her and was able to get her to safety before tragedy struck. D&A quickly noticed something seemed off with Sheena's walk and there was something wrong with her back legs. They took her to a veterinary clinic who diagnosed Sheena with cruciate ligament tears in both hind legs. This means Sheena will require surgery in both legs. Khloe

Khloe is a 9-year-old Rat Terrier in Richmond, TX, who needs $2,000 for TPLO Surgery.

Richmond, TX

My beautiful Khloe came into my life when she was four months old. A patient from my office knew I was looking for a dog and she stated a couple at her clinic surrendered their dog due to parvo. She stated that she was nursing her back to health and should be ready for a new home within a few weeks. Without hesitation, I told her I wanted her. And from the moment I met her, I knew she was special! Khloe has been apart of our family for years! We truly wouldn't know what to do without her! To waking up in the mornings with her wrapped up in the covers to her waiting for you to drop a treat. She is a true bundle of joy and really loves kids! She makes sure she gives kisses to everyone! She makes sure everyone feels loved and never turns down a warm embrace! Khloe is special because she knows when you're sad or having a rough day, and she comes and comforts you and make you feel better. Every time we take a picture, you will definitely see her model side with her struts and wide smiles. The joy she has motivates others to be happy! And that alone makes me happy daily! She is truly one of kind and I am grateful that she choose me as her dog mom! Unfortunately, Khloe jumped off the bed and ruptured her cranial cruciate ligament on the lower left side. The vet stated that if surgery isn't done, the other leg has the potential of doing the same thing. So the treatment that is needed to help Khloe is TPLO surgery. She's going to NVC - Nederland with Dr. Hanson performing the surgery. This surgery was unexpected and I didn't have an emergency savings account to help fund the surgery. Khloe is such a solider but I know she is in pain and would greatly benefit from this surgery in order to help her get back to her normal happy and energetic self.

Oreo

Oreo is a 14-year-old Chihuahua in Baytown, TX, who needs $1,600 for Hernia Surgery.

Baytown, TX

We originally got Oreo in 2009 as a puppy. She was one of the family dogs, but was particularly attached to and protective of my mother. My mother has long since passed away. Later after the family was starting to leave home and go their own ways back in 2016, I took the two family dogs, Oreo and Mocha, as my own and have been caring for them since. She's a bit grumpy and doesn't like to socialize. She has always been like that. She usually lies next to me whenever she has the chance, though, if I'm on the couch. I have to help her up. She can't jump to high given her hernia. Oreo's always been disinterested in people and other dogs, but she's fascinated by animals she hasn't seen before. When she sees a new type of animal, she'll stand within a few feet of them and just watch with fascination. On November 25th, I noticed Oreo was having a little trouble moving around. I didn't think anything of it at first. Later, I noticed a golf ball sized lump on her stomach, which for a chihuahua is very large. It turns out this was a hernia. The clinic referred me to an affordable surgeon in Nederland. They quoted the surgery and medicine at about $1600. I may have had a chance of affording the treatment before, but, within three weeks, I had three major emergencies. First, my other dog Mocha needed to go to the emergency clinic, then this hernia appeared, then the following week I had to pay for major car repairs.

Taint is a 12-year-old Wolf Hybrid/Shepard Mix in La Porte, TX, who needs $2,000 for Amputation.

La Porte, TX

The breeder I bought my wolf dog from is a word of mouth referral only breeder. A battle buddy of mine on Ft Hood told me about him and how awesome his new pup was so I reached out and was able to get him as an after deployment present to myself in 2010 during Christmas break. I have no idea how to contact that breeder anymore or locate him due to memory problems from being on Ft Hood. My big baby has been through everything with me, from my battle to get off Ft Hood, my journey as a disabled vet, turning into a mother and helping me protect my kids and teaching them how to walk. I never had to train him to be a service animal he loves me and is a very caring soul. He can tell if someone isn't ok emotionally and will snuggle them to make them feel better. Never been aggressive. The smile he does is capable of curing depression and his howl sounds inspiring enough to wake my indigenous ancestors. It's one of the best sounds I've ever heard second only to the laughs and giggles my kids make when he plays with them and snuggles up with them. He's always been a perfect nanny dog to my kids and even barks if they try to do things they shouldn't. The bestest boy we have. Outside of allergy shots and regular vet visits our big baby has always been a very healthy guy. About 2 months ago we took him in for X-rays thinking he had hurt himself at the dog park playing too rough...only to find out it was bone cancer. We've taken him to Mexico for a second opinion, labs, ultrasounds-cancer is confirmed. I am a divorced mother of 2 that is the primary provider of my household. I didnt think that cancer and cancer treatments would need to be something I'd have to prepare for. The divorce I had in 2020 ruined my credit so I'm unable to pull loans. I'm a disabled army vet.

Odie Tiberius is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix in Pasadena , TX, who needs $1,500 for Cruciate TPLO.

Pasadena, TX

Odie is the oldest of our 3 pups. He was a Hurricane Harvey rescue. His mother was found roaming Galveston County Texas, after the hurricane hit land. She was pregnant where no place to go. My co-worker's parents took Odie's momma home and cared for her until she gave birth. Odie was 1 of 9 pups born. I knew he was meant to be mine the moment I saw his picture. We got him at 8 weeks. Odie is the life of the family! He is by far more vocal, more playful, full of energy and does not slow down. He is all about tennis balls and running, jumping, roughhousing, and only slows down to sleep. He understands so much and is a big part of our daily life. He loves everyone and has a crush on the human girls. He loves to be around people and wants all the hugs. Odie is more like a human trapped inside a dog. He is so connected to us that he adapts to situations so easily. He loves on us when we are gone to long, knows when we are headed home, and greets us at the door, every, single, time. When he wants attention, he stands in your face and pokes at you to rub on him and love on him. He is truly a unique being. His primary vet took x-rays of Odie's hips, back, and legs. Our initial thought, was that he had hip dysplasia, but we were referred to an Orthopedic Surgeon to review his films. It turns out that he has 2 torn ACL's and has surgery to repair them scheduled. My husband recently retired and we are on a fixed income and whatever I make at work. Our initial quote from the orthopedic surgeon was $5,800 per leg. That would be a total of $13k for both legs. We called around and found a place 90 miles away that will do it for less.

Bailey

Bailey is a 11-year-old Mini Schnauzer Mix in Channelview, TX, who needs $1,500 for Orthopedic Surgery.

Channelview, TX

Bailey was rescued from an abusive situation back in 2012 when she was just 1 years old. Bailey is number 1 out of 5 dogs in our home as she has been with us the longest and is the only girl. Originally, Bailey's name was "Oreo" but we felt as this did not fit her because of her human-like personality. As a result, we agreed on the perfect name for her. Bailey is a feisty, protective girl who does not allow anyone to mess with her family. Bailey loves her space, but likes to keep close as she will get close to you, but not interact much. Every morning, she likes to go on her walk before retrieving back to her space and pops out occasionally to keep the boys (other dogs) in check. As small as she is, she does not have any fear in her heart. Bailey is special because she is strong. Given her situation, she still wants to interact with the other dogs, still tries to run although she cannot, and still tries to protect her family. On Sundays, we would take her out to the dog park then to Starbucks for her pup cups that she cannot get enough of. Due to her circumstances however, we can no longer take her. In September, Bailey was playing and broke her right elbow. At the time, we thought it was only sprained as she walked on it with a slight limp. Later, we took her to the vet who stated it was actually broken, but they could not perform procedures. We had 2 incidences like this where they could not perform surgery. We finally found a practice willing to either amputate or save the leg if possible. Unfortunately, we do have the emergency funds to proceed with the surgery given the cost for either amputation or saving the leg. As mentioned, she has been with us for 11 years and hate to see her in pain.

This is Skylar, my best friend, she was given to me as a gift and it was love at first sight. I love this dog with everything in me and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about my Skylar. She love taking pictures and being a lazy girl. This is the best dog I’ve ever had. She knows when I’m sad or upset and does everything she can to cheer me up! She sleeps on the bed with me of course which means I had to get a king size bed so she has her own space. She loves going to the dog park and playing with the other dogs. When she’s not at the park she is at home either sleeping or asking for kisses and cuddles from me or anyone else is the home, even the cats. This is unexpected and I am on a tight budget. My dog is my best friend and I love her with everything I’ve got. She has helped me emotionally through thick and thin and I just want her to get better and healthy. So unfortunately Skylar was hit by a car near my home. She had gotten out and we were trying to get her back home. She has gone to a 24/7 pet hospital and they have done everything the can but the only option left is to amputate her leg. We are sad and hate that it has come to this but it’s our only option. She loves hanging out with her sister Lucy and destroying all of her stuffed animals. She also makes me laugh when she get the zoomies or when she’s sunbathing out in the sun. I love when does her cool tricks and eats her treats and snacks. I love when she is caring and sleeps and cuddles with the kittens.
