Charro

Charro is a 12 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Bronx, NY, who needs $14,910 for a Stent in Urethra, Medicine, and KD Food.

Bronx, NY

My sister dropped Charro off without any talk about giving her to the family. I decided to keep Charro. She has been with me since she was 6 months old (2014). Charro is the name of the Spanish actress and singer. She was popular in the 1980's in American television. Charro needs ongoing treatment for chronic kidney disease. She has kidney stones and urinary tract infections. She also has a stent place inside her urethra. She was seen at AMC Animal Hospital. Charro is a spiritual guide and an emotional support dog. She has been with me in my rough times (homelessness, facing prejudice in the workplace in NYC, filling a void in my emotional and mental state when a partner is not there for me, she has made me love another being and forced me to care for her). I have been on top of her health since she came into my life. She is afraid of fireworks. I lost my job in February 2026. I have been on unemployment since February. With the mounting vet bills, I am stressed out. With your support, Charro will continue to get treatment, and I will not be burdened with vet medical bills. Thank you ever so much.

Toby

Toby is a 10 year old American Shorthair in New York City, NY, who needs $20,000 for Intensive Care Management for DKA.

New York City, NY

Toby is an indoor cat who came into my life as a surprise gift from my father, and we have been together for 10 wonderful years. I named him Toby because it felt natural for a tabby cat. He first came home in a red Beats bag looking like a tiny speck of dust and covered in fleas. Since then, he has become one of the biggest sources of comfort and companionship in my life. My cat is a recently diagnosed diabetic. After giving him his first dose of Bexacat, he stopped eating and became very lethargic. According to his vet, he was in diabetic ketoacidosis. This is fatal and if he doesn't get hospitalized immediately he will die. We are looking to treat him at schwarzman animal medical center in New York City. After the hospital, he will have to be treated for diabetes Toby is so sweet and chill. He likes to do his own thing. However, he also loves to cuddle. When he's tired, your arm or chest is his favorite pillow. He follows us from room to room, curls up beside us whenever we’re sad, and always knows how to make us laugh with his playful personality. He is my soul cat. He makes every day feel lighter, and our home would not feel the same without him. Toby is family, and seeing him become critically ill so suddenly has been beyond devastating. We are facing overwhelming emergency hospitalization costs just to give him a chance to recover. Any support would help save his life and bring our sweet boy back healthy again.

Smitty is a 1 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in Bronx, NY, who needs $20,000 for TBI.

Bronx, NY

I got Smitty about 1.5 years ago when he was just a baby. Me and Smitty are inseparable and everyone loves him. He lives with me and my family and we are all extremely heart broken. Smitty is currently at AMC pet hospital. Smitty was hit by a car that fled. He is in critical condition and needs help. I’ve exhausted every possible way to pay for his treatments. He has been in the ICU for 6 days and and needs continuous monitoring and care. He was hit in the head and has a severe TBI. Smitty is full of life. He’s so energetic and loves to go for runs. He brings light into any room he comes into, he knows your moods without you saying a word, stays close when you need comfort, and finds small ways to make even the hardest days feel a little lighter. His personality is like no other. Me and my family have spent every dollar and every loan to get help for smitty. We’ve ran out of options. Smitty is such a big part of our lives and we can’t lose him. Any help would mean the world to us and to Smitty. We would go to the end of earth for him

Chloe is a 6 month old Poodle in Manhattan , NY, who needs $5,000 for Spiral Fracture of the Left Tibia.

Manhattan, NY

our pup Chloe, born 11/05/25. An intended sale for my girls felt like a rescue mission after review of her home at eight weeks old the conditions resembled a puppy mill rather than an ethical breeder, and I felt it was necessary to rescue her She is now six months old and has become a beloved companion for me and my two daughters. Chloe is extremely active smart and proven to be an escape artist Chloe, who has been diagnosed with a fracture. While NYSAVE covered her initial diagnostics and X-rays at HeartofHarlem Veterinary Hospital, they confirmed she likely requires surgery.Because my current clinic lacks an orthopedic surgeon, I was referred to a new facility. However, they require a $361 re-examination fee before I can apply for further grants through their facilities I wanted to share how extraordinary 6mo old dog, Chloe is. She displays an intuitive awareness of human emotions, comfortingly sitting by me when I am upset and retrieving water bottles from the table or fridge without formal training. Her innate ability to follow instructions and respond to feelings at such a young age is truly remarkable. She is a sweet, active, talented, and smart companion I am a student and single mother of two living in public housing. I am currently unable to afford a necessary surgery for my puppy, and your assistance with these costs would mean a great deal to my family.

Winifred

Winifred is a 4 year old Bombay in New York, NY, who needs $3,000 for Treatment of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

New York, NY

We adopted Winnie two years ago after losing our beloved 16 year old cat. Winnie brought light back into our lives after that loss. She was the shy, itty bitty girl at the shelter and we needed to get her out of there. She came home and became more confident as she felt safer and comfortable in her forever home. She’s our tiny sweetheart, who now has two cat siblings who love and miss her. Winnie is at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in NYC. She’s been there 5 nights so far. We brought her in jaundiced with fluid in her abdomen, dangerously anemic and with low BP. Her ultimate diagnosis is FIP. She’s been on anti viral meds but showing minimal signs of responding to the drug. She’s had blood and human albumin transfusions. Prognosis is guarded. She needs is more time and care. Winnie is the oldest of three cats. She has slowly bonded with the others and even though she’s much smaller than them she stays in the mix. She is a vocal girl who “chatters” at birds and the sound of a soda can cracking open. She’s very tiny but mighty. Her favorite time is the evening when she gets to hang on the couch with us and get her favorite treats. This expense is a shock but we just couldn’t give up on our sweet girl, who’s only 4 and deserves a long comfortable life after being in shelters from the start. We see her fighting. She is bright and alert, despite being so sick, and we see she isn’t ready to leave us yet. Update- we have adjusted our current goal so our community can see exactly what their impact looks like in real-time. This new $3,000 target is focused on the immediate cost of saving Winnie while we continue her care through check-ups at the hospital and FIP medication.

Boots is a 3 year old English Angora in Ridgewood, NY, who needs $1,250 for Hospitalization for Gastrointestinal Stasis.

Ridgewood, NY

Boots was found through an online ad from someone who could not care for him. He lives in a cute rabbit run indoors and free roams during the day with occasional trips in the garden in a covered space. He’s sassy and adorable! Lies super still when he is pet and comes when called like a dog. He LOVES to thump and get attention:) My rabbit, Boots, was diagnosed with suspected gastrointestinal stasis after suddenly stopping eating and producing feces while I was away receiving care for an illness in the hospital. He received fluids, pain meds, anti-nausea meds, and a GI motility injection at Animal Medical Emergency Center in New York. He’s still at risk and requires ongoing care (deadly if untreated). He’s very sweet, a bit shy and calm. Loves to be pet and sits super still like a doll. He started off life quite timid and grew to love people, running around, and eating massive enough to of vegetables! I was left unable to work after worsening narcolepsy w/ cataplexy, depression, and other issues. While I was receiving treatment at a hospital Boots fell ill. I have no funds left after paying for Boots’ emergency care. He’s still not pooping and support will help save him!

Ridgewood, NY

Hiro is a friendly and affectionate dog who has been part of our family for almost 6 years. He currently lives with me in a home environment where he receives regular care, attention, and veterinary check-ups. He is generally healthy and well-loved, enjoys daily walks, playtime, and spending time with family members. Until recently, he showed no major health issues and maintained Hiro has been diagnosed with a salivary mucocele (sialocele), a condition caused by leakage of saliva from a damaged salivary gland or duct, resulting in swelling around his face and under his jaw. After veterinary evaluation, it was determined that this condition requires treatment by a surgical specialist said by VEG Williamsburg. Hiro is a beloved member of our family. He is gentle, affectionate, and always brings comfort and joy to our home. He loves being close to us and is usually playful and cheerful. Since becoming ill, he has been less energetic, which has been heartbreaking to see. Helping him heal means everything to us. Hiro needs specialized surgery, and the cost is more than we can manage alone. The financial strain has been overwhelming. Having him healthy again would mean everything—seeing him comfortable, happy, and back to his joyful self would bring immense relief to our family.

Snacks is a 13 year old American Shorthair in Queens Village, NY, who needs $10,000 for CT Scan and Surgery.

Queens Village, NY

I've had my sweetheart, Snacks, since she was 1 month old. Thirteen years later, she is still my affectionate little cuddlebug who is highly motivated by any opportunity for a treat, hence her name. In May 2025, I found out that her weight loss was not due to her diet finally kicking in; instead, she was not receiving proper nutrients because of a blockage in her liver and bile duct region. On September 3, 2025, I took Snacks to Virginia Veterinary Specialists for a follow up with the internist to check for progress using an ultrasound and bloodwork. I found out that the cyst had increased in size (1.7cm - 6.4cm) and that without intervention, Snacks bodily functions will be impacted and quality of life significantly reduced. Due to the blockage, she is losing muscle mass already. Snacks is such an amazing cat! She is besties with her sister, July, and it's clear that the two are bonded for life. Snacks loves to wake me up in the morning with nose kisses and gentle taps on my chin. She makes sure that she cuddles up next to me every night to ward off the monsters under the bed, I suppose. The vet advised that Snacks receive a CT scan and surgical removal of the blockage. Together, the cost is nearly $10, 000. I need to do everything in my power to save her and give her the chance to continue her lively, loving, and cuddly life! She's worth more than the cost!

Manhattan, NY

Flash is more than just a dog—he is my son, my heart, and my family. We rescued him in 2013 when he was just a year old after his previous owners had to move into a building that didn’t allow pets. From the moment he joined our family, he filled our home with laughter and his big personality. He is goofy, loving, and full of quirks—especially his love for food and his separation anxiety, which jus Flash has a condition where the vet is thinks is neurological. Both of his eyes move uncontrollably for about 2-3 hours. During this episode he can't walk and stumbles. Last week march 20th, 2025 I went to the vet and he needed a abdominal ultrasound and xray. The results were not the result of his eye issue and vet recommended a MRI to see his brain. They say something is pushing in his brain. Flash is a foodie, he is 12 years old so his energy is a bit lower than before but once food comes into the picture, he acts like he is 1 years old. he sings and barks at me while i make him fresh food every evening. He loves to nap in the sun, and loves to smell everything during his walks. I am currently unemployed, my job industry has not been hiring much in 2024 and 2025. I am currently taking help from the government. It means the world to me to figure out what is happening in flash brain. I take his health seriously i cook him fresh food every day.

Poe came into my life, Feb 16, 2018, after searching for a new pet for 8 months after my other dog Homer passed away at 14 yrs in 2017. I had spent countless hours, weeks, and months looking for the right dog. I met Poe when he was 7 weeks old. His mother was a stray from the south, had delivered 9 puppies on Christmas Day 2018. When I met Poe, it was cold, dark, rainy, thus his name E.A.Poe. In Aug 14, 2024 Poe tore his right ACL, had surgery at Hospital of Veterinary Surgery NYC. In March 9, he tore his left ACL and had an infection from right surgery to remove previous plate. In totally, Poe will have/had 3 surgeries thus far for his legs. His right plate removal and new left TPLO surgery will be done at The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. Poe lives with 4 cats, that he likes to round up and keep in check when they are naughty. Poe is a talker and he will let you know how he feels about a situation, sometimes in a bossy, loving way, which makes sense since he is part Husky. He love nature, all aspects of nature, the changing whether, snow, rain, grass, rolling in leaves, and water, of which he has to run into like a torpedo. I work in Film/TV in Production/Acct which means some months I work, but it also means there can be long months of no work. Poe's sudden medical expenses have continued to pile up. Extensive testing at AMC in NYC ruled out major issues. Her heart and spine were clear. She recovered. In November 2024, she was hospitalized in ICU at AMC. The stroke, UTI were confirmed. She is now recovering. Doctors have given a hopeful prognosis, but recovery is long and costly. She must have specialist care and diagnostics to fully recover and prevent future strokes. I incurred $9,693 in expenses and $2000-$2400 expected for specialist care in cardiology (echocardiogram $918, exam $375, blood test $350, neurology $375, urine test $400).
