Gus

Gus is a 2 year old Old English Bulldog in Granby, MA, who needs $3,000 for CCL Tear.

Granby, MA

Gus was in “protective custody “ when we found him in foster care. He had a hard start at life but you would never know that. He’s the best bud and a great couch potato. He has helped other dogs gain their confidence back as well. Unfortunately I switched insurance companies a few months back and he is 32 days shy of cover for ortho. I am a disabled veteran on a fixed income. Vesh in Deerfield mass is an emergency hospital where we took him. He needs ccl surgery which is $7800. He is a young 2 yr old dog that had so much life left. Gus is hilarious. He has his morning zoomies even with his injury. He helped his foster brother work through his anxiety. He’s my shadow and follows me everywhere I go. Kids love him and his goofy faces. I am a combat veteran on disability so my income is fixed. I can come up with some of the costs but not everything. It would mean the world to me if someone could help us out.

Chewbacca

Chewbacca is a 7 year old Golden Retriever in Windham, VT, who needs $10,000 for ICU Care & Intestinal Mass Removal & Resection.

Windham, VT

Chewbacca has spent his life lifting kids who needed him most—calming anxiety, building confidence, and giving unconditional love every day. He’s the heart of his school and a hero to so many. Now he’s fighting for his life, and the community he’s healed is fighting for him. Please help save Chewy, a dog whose love has changed countless young lives. He is so loved and needed in this world. Chewy was rushed to the emergency vet with severe pain and difficulty walking. Tests revealed a large intestinal mass and dangerous fluid in his abdomen. He’s in the ICU and needs surgery to remove and resect his small intestine. The mass is unknown and may require further treatment. His condition is critical, and costs are estimated at $8–10k. We are desperate for help saving this amazing boy Chewbacca is the heart of his school, lifting kids who struggle by calming their anxiety, building their confidence, and giving unconditional love every day. He listens, comforts, celebrates their wins, and makes every child feel seen. Chewy isn’t just a dog—he’s a lifeline, a healer, and a source of hope for everyone he meets. He is his mom’s heart and soul, her constant companion. Chewy’s life‑saving emergency care and surgery will cost $8–10k, far beyond what his family can cover. With two modest incomes and no emergency fund large enough for urgent vet care, they’re terrified of losing him. They are desperately seeking any help from the community

Apollo

Apollo is a 8 year old Golden Retriever in Springfield , MA, who needs $2,000 for Nephrectomy.

Springfield, MA

I got Apollo from a breeder in Massachusetts. He was the only puppy who yelped when I asked who wants to come home with me. He was the puppy that crept away from his siblings every night to sleep with his mamma. And he is still a mamma’s boy! So loving and cuddly. He just presses his face into my shoulder for morning kisses every day! I noticed Apollo start panting very heavy and whining at night. He woke me loudly and rapidly panting. After emergency visits and ultra sound it was found his left kidney is enlarged and nonfunctional. It’s pressing on his insides causing him to pant and suffer discomfort. He needs it removed. Apollo is a cuddly loving pup. He protects the older dogs in his circle of friends. Is so gentle with the babies in our family and is so cooky the way he hops when he’s excited. He lovingly pushes his head into mine for kisses and ear scratches. It means everything to me to help my boy. I’ve tried all credit options, gofundme, talking to vets for payment plans. None have worked out. I can’t fathom having him in so much pain that I will have a horrible alternative. It’s just me and Apollo. I feel I’m failing him.

Cootie Pouf

Cootie Pouf is a 4 year old Maine Coon in Athol, MA, who needs $1,000 for Catheterization.

Athol, MA

Cootie Pouf is the only non rescue or cat distribution cat we have. He's a big goofy Maine Coon mix. We have 6 cats at the moment. They are 11, 9, 5, 4 (Cootie Pouf), 4 and 1 1/2. Two are Texas kill shelter rescues. We are currently in a situation where we only have one income and it's been slow in my business. This is going to wipe us out financially to be honest, but he's worth it. Today I noticed that Poufy went to the litter box but has produced no urine. I had a cat with this problem previously and I recognize the signs. I can afford a regular vet visit, but I think an emergency vet will wipe us out. The emergency vet is VESH South Deerfield. In Massachusetts. Cootie Pouf is a floofy dork. He nudges and "kisses" and clings like a baby. He has a tiny baby meow and lies on his back on the kitchen floor for attention. When we rescued Merida from the kill shelter last year, she got attached to him and it's safe to say she is bonded to him. They are always together. He's a sweet, loving cat and I only want to do what's best for him. I am self-employed, the only bread winner, and my finances always hit a wall in the summer months, Murphy's Law and all. I just want Poufy to be okay. He is such a love and it pains me to see him struggle.

I live at home with mommy, daddy, Justin, jess, Archer, waffles, and blaze. They all love me very much. Then there are my girls, Faith and Hope. We have been together since I was a puppy. I need a tplo surgery. I ruptured my cranial cruciate ligament. In people terms that means I tore my acl. I love to help mommy with her hemiplegic migraines. I helped hope when she was hurt. I also help jess recover from back surgery. I have a strong bond with all my humans. I love playing with my brother Archer. And I love my feather friend blaze, and fury friend waffles. Those that know my family know that the last few years have been extremely hard. Losing son/brother/ uncle Doug. The van, and now Jess' car. We would greatly appreciate the support given to us. Cash is a 8 year old American Staffordshire Terrier in Springfield, MA, who needs $2,000 for Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome.

Springfield, MA

When animals becomes a household pet, they become an addition to the family structure. Just as a child needs nurturing when sick, pets also needs a certain level of care to function throughout their short life span. After my daughter past in 2020, I was given the responsibility to continue caring for Cash, my daughter's dog, which I have developed a loving bond while caring for him. Cash was recently diagnosed with gastrointestinal related issues due to his recent constipation symptoms. He is now under the care of VESH to develop a treatment plan that will most likely require ongoing treatment for his condition. Now that I have a better understanding of his condition, I am seeking financial help to be able to give Cash an opportunity for his condition to improve. Cash has his special ways to interact with people, he likes to give five and rub against people's legs. Once upon a time, he loved jumping up to greet people, but that was not welcoming. I recently retired due to a medical condition within the past 6 months. Financially, it has been difficult transitioning from the working sector to living on a fixed income.. I would really appreciate any help that can be given for Cash to be able to function normal again.

North Adams, MA

We got Dovah - along w/ her sister, Dixie - almost 13 yrs. ago. (They were always together until Dixie passed away from cancer.) We own our house in North Adams... Dovah was attacked by a dog that was being walked by our house. The person w/ the dog wasn't able to control her dog very well. She is homeless & has no money -and now is not speaking to us! Dovah needed emergency surgery to sew up 2 deep lacerations btwn. her throat & shoulder. She had to have stitches in both the muscle & skin. She needed a 24 hr. follow-up, and then the drain tubing fell out! Dovah is a friendly dog. She has to warm up some though before feeling that everything is ok... She has been a little lonely ever since her sister, Dixie, passed away in June. We are both on a fixed income, Soc. Sec., plus a little more thru Meals On Wheels as substitute drivers. And I work during tax season as a tax preparer, but don't have that except during tax season. We have a small amt. of Care Credit, but were denied a credit increase.

Flynn

Flynn is a 3 month old Mix-Breed in Westfield, MA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Treatment for Fluid Around His Lungs.

Westfield, MA

We rescued Flynn just this week after our kitten, Simba, unexpectedly passed last Friday after an altercation with our foster dog. Flynn is 3 months old and was living at a shelter in Alabama with many other kittens and dogs. We foster for this rescue and when the director found out what happened to Simba, she sent Flynn for our daughter. We told her Simba picked Flynn to take care of her. We have only had Flynn for about a week but our 3.5-year-old daughter adores him, just as she did her 4-month-old kitten Simba (white kitten in pictures). Unfortunately, our foster dog got Flynn tonight even after we have tried so hard to keep them separate. I had to rush Flynn to the emergency vet where he is currently on oxygen hoping he will pull through. He is at VESH in West Springfield, MA. All of our animals are so special to us. We have fostered many dogs before (this is our 9th) and we have never had a problem.. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats that are all rescues. We love our animals as our other kids. Our daughter has grown up with them all and then we let her pick Simba as her own cat. With the loss of Simba, she thankfully was gifted Flynn to help her heal and now he is hurt. We are struggling with these vet bills because of the total amount- between cremating Simba, the dog fight between our dog and the foster dog, and now trying to save Flynn, we are beyond tapped out.

Cooper is a 7 year old Persian in Leverett, MA, who needs $2,000 for Urethroplasty.

Leverett, MA

Cooper was a craigslist find back in 2017, I paid a whopping $20 for this magnificent animal. He very quickly stole the hearts of myself and my 2 kids, and was a pivotal emotional support for my kids during an arduous abandonment by their father 3 years ago. Cooper struggles with urinary blockages and has needed emergency care 3 times in the past. On 4/4/24, he went in for routine dental cleaning and has been blocking repeatedly since then, to where we need to consider if PU surgery is the next option. He will need the surgery at VESH in south deerfield, MA because his regular vet cannot perform the surgery. Cooper is an almost 8 yr old kitten. His fuzzy ball turns his eyes wide and he will chase any toy that whizzes past him. He will "coodle" you and purr you to sleep, or bake you biscuits. He wears his heart on his sleeve and understands when you're in need of a little extra loving. He loves to go on "cooventures" with his harness, and find a comfy spot to refuse to move from I am a single mother with a maxxed out care credit card, aptly named "coo credit card" as it's entire purpose is for his care. I am paying off his dental cleaning ($1700) and the last bit of his previous blockage from May of 2023 ($2400) and I am tapped out financially

Lily

Lily is a 4-year-old Mixed Terrier in Townshend, VT, who needs $2,000 for TPLO.

Townshend, VT

Hi, I am Lily, a service dog for Beth. She adopted me from Rover Rescue when I was just a couple of months old. She didn't know I was autistic and had a real challenge training me. With over two years of perseverance, focused training, and lots of love, she gained my trust and now we are a team. I help her when she is having heart issues and she helps me when my autism is triggered. A year ago we moved to Vermont on 3 acres which gives me plenty of room to run. We walk a mile and play ball at least twice a day. I do have my best friend dogs (back in Illinois) who you can see in my farewell picture. However, I am autistic, nervous around dogs I don't know and loud noises. I am an amazing service dog when I need to be, but mostly like hanging around our yard. We took a long time to bond because I was very distrustful of everyone. Beth helped me overcome that and we are now very loyal to each other. I am very much a product of my routine, sleep until 9am, get my belly rubbed, breakfast, walk, ball play and then nap. Evening is walk and ball play. I love when Mom works on the land and I get to run around off leash. At 4yrs+, I am VERY active. 6 months ago I started to limp on my back left leg. We waited to see if it would resolve itself, but found out that I tore my ACL and now surgery is required and scheduled for January 15, 2024. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Benson at Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital. If my other leg fails, I won't be able to walk. The surgery estimate ranges from $6253.82 to $6898.77 which does not cover initial x-rays, evaluations, and medicine. Beth (a disabled veteran ) obtained a Care Credit card to pay for surgery (12% no interest, 29% financing) but $630/month payment is beyond her means.

Tomtom is a 8-year-old Domestic Shorthair Tabby Cat in CHICOPEE, MA, who needs $800 for ER Veterinary Services & Treatment.

CHICOPEE, MA

I've been feeding/housing feral cats for the past ten years. I work with shelters to trap, vaccinate, neuter/spay all the cats in my neighborhood. About 8 years ago, a tiger cat would try to come to my patio to eat. At the beginning, if he even saw my eye in the window, he would run for the hills. Overtime, with an abundance of patience, he started getting closer and more comfortable with me. Throughout the years, I was able to get closer to him, starting with him following me around the yard (but would run if I got too close) and one day, he just walked in my house. I have two indoor cats that I take outside, either on a leash or in a mesh enclosure.. and he was obsessed with them. All he wanted to do was kiss and play with them. He is very affectionate with me and my two indoor cats. TomTom is the sweetest thing. He wants to be with me every second of the day as well as his now adopted brother and sister. There is not an aggressive bone in his body. I truly feel that he was once somebody's pet and either got lost or abandoned and had to live the life of feral on the streets, who knows for how long. He now sleeps with me every night, his face on my face. Since he is considered feral, he cannot get an exam without being sedated, I have contacted numerous vets who all say the same, which is more than I can afford. I have been trying to save money to get him into a vet. He is now straining to urinate, spending lots of time in the box without anything happening, I think there is something wrong with his kidneys or some type of blockage. I have severe mental illness and filing for Disability, this is my second time applying. I can no longer work and just want to be able to give him a normal, healthy, and loved life. I'm genuinely terrified, do not want him to be suffering with something that can be treated.

Boots

Boots is a 2-year-old Tabby in Easthampton, MA, who needs $2,000 for FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy).

Easthampton, MA

Boots came into my life almost 3 years ago now as a kitten. She was going to be a buddy for my existing cat (Charlie). I’ve had her since she was old enough to be away from her mom and she’s been my baby girl ever since! She’s got plenty of nicknames as her original name was Biscuit. Boots, Bootsy Girl, and Mama are all acceptable names though. Boots is definitely quite the adventurous kitty, which is how we think she may have gotten into this situation. She always loves to be on top of the highest point in the house, whether it’s the cat tower, or on the cabinets. She’s always been the climbing kitty. She’s “Miss Independent” most of the time on the futon, or at the end of the bed. But when she wants to she will snuggle up on your lap. Boots is always in the mood for food. She will give you the most adorable head tilt whenever you’re eating something that looks good to her. Although she’s fed on a normal schedule, she always acts like she has never had food before and eats it up so quickly and she loves treats. She will play with the laser all day, too. Unfortunately, a week or so ago, Boots suddenly became unable to walk. After an emergency trip to the vet, we quickly found out that her hip had popped out. Although the vet was able to pop her hip back in, it was not successful. She now needs FHO surgery for her to be able to live a normal life again so her hip doesn’t keep popping out. Although we do have an emergency fund, it is not enough to cover all the necessary unexpected costs for Boot’s surgery, especially on top of the costs that the emergency visit brought up front. Boots cannot stay the way that she is, so she needs this care.

Warren, MA

Sven came to us in August 2016..Our friends had an accidental litter and we took this sweet little boy home! It was 4 months after we lost our papillon at the age of 15!He has been such a blessing in our life! I wasn’t looking but he chose us to be his family and there was no telling that sweet little face no! Our Sven is my daughters best friend! He spends most of his time with her by his choice.. but he loves everyone! He is the light in our world. He has the biggest personality! He is almost never home alone and he has a video monitor when someone can’t be here because of his seizures! The most important thing to us is that he is ok! Sven taught himself very young to give hugs and peck kisses with his nose life humans do! When is he waiting for his treats he does little stomps in protest that it’s taking to long! He loves belly rubs and toys! But his favorite is snuggle time! When he wakes up he rubs all over Becky’s face and gives her nose bites to let her know he is ready for the day! Sven has has seizure since he was 6 months old! They were very mild and infrequent and medication was not needed. In May of this year something changed and they got worse. He spent 24 hours in ICU and we started meds! Seizures were still happening more often every 3 weeks.. and on 10/13 he had a real bad one.. another med was started! We are hopeful this will control the seizures! Things have happened very close together! 3 ER trips and yearly vet since May! He needs a neuro eval and bloodwork 11/1 at 400.00 plus another blood draw in a month. We haven’t had any recovery time in between to catch up again! Each visit has been 300+

Tilly is a 7-year-old Pit Mastiff Mix in Westfield, MA, who needs $2,000 for Oral Melanoma Removal.

Westfield, MA

We got Tilly before I went off to Basic Training for the Mass Army National Guard. She has a been a crucial part to mine and my fiances lives. She has been my fiances rock all the times I have been away. She has recently been diagnosed with oral melanoma. The good news is we caught it pretty early. With surgery soon, Tilly can be in our lives for many more years. Tilly is the biggest people person you would ever meet. Shes good with dogs, but loves people. She will bypass going outside, leaving for walks, food, etc. all for the opportunity to just lay with you. Every day she runs to greet me at the door when I get home from work, licks me, and then runs right back to lay on the bed. Money is just tight. Last year Tilly needed a complete ACL replacement after tearing it playing with me and running around the backyard. She is still a super happy girl, and nothing wrong with her besides needing this done. Tilly needs two teeth and a small part of her jaw removed to take out the oral melanoma. The vet is so optimistic with this procedure because or how early my fiance caught what was going on in her mouth. Usually oral melanoma is not what you want to hear, but with this prognosis we have to try everything to take care of Tilly. Every morning it takes me awhile to get Tilly outside to go to the bathroom. She wakes up, stares at me, and then rolls over onto her back for morning belly rubs. The whole time I am doing this she is smiling. She then gets up, tail wagging, to jump on the bed and get belly rubs there. It makes me laugh how I have to ask her to go outside.

It was love at first site when we saw Moe & Larry, online. Suncoast Basset Rescue while in Florida seasonal visit. Recovering a pet loss 7 years ago. Larry is such a joy to all. We are seniors, home in Rural MA. Larry performs upon meeting a new person. If he can make eye contact, he will roll-over and smile(pic). Larry knows just how to make people laugh. He is 9 now and still acts like a puppy. Larry is with Moe for a reason. We were told brothers, but not real brothers. Larry has separation anxiety and will just howl if in a crate alone. With Moe he would calm down. Early on, realized it would be hard to leave Larry and no crates. Otherwise he is happy go lucky around the house and when anyone visits. Loves the couch, stealing seats, walking, driving and food. Never alone with Larry. As seniors, fixed income, extra expenses needs planning. Testing costly. Surgery need a loan. We could?borrow against our house last resort. But paying back will be hard. We cannot look Larry in the eye and not help him. 2/14 Surgery. Financial/Larry, High Anxiety Mid Jan.,2021. Larry started to lick his butt. Upon a closer observation, I noticed a large firm lump. Alarming. Did not hurt him to touch. Local Vet referred to specialist. Large & delicate surgery need. Got apt., Veterinary Emergency Specialty Hospital. Oncologist, did, X-rays, labs, Ultrasound, biopsy. 1/27 Dr MaloneyHuss called us. Larry has peri anal sac adenocarcinoma. Such a shock!!! Larry is just so special in everyway. Doesn't have a preferred person. Loves every household member, 2 humans. What he does not like is noise. Thunder, fireworks, even dropping something, will cause him to jump up and leave area. With thunder keep me close. He has a thunder shirt which helps alot. Leave out the calming oils that are supposed to help. He will roll them off. Everyone loves Larry!!
